This has been my favorite coffee shop during my time in Seattle! I usually order a 16oz Walk to Work or a 12oz iced latte plus an apple turnover. They use specialty beans from Maru for their espresso I believe, which makes for a really great drink every time. I also bought some coffee beans here and the baristas took their time walking me through each type and how it would taste with my home pour over setup. Two coffee shops right next to each other, but only time for one breakfast. Oddly right next door to another three-lettered coffee shop (QED) I picked URL because the Walk to Work (pictured) sounded interesting and unique to me. And indeed it was! It's available only as an iced drink, presumably because the house-made whipped cream would melt on a hot latte. With no additional flavorings, the whipped cream is the star of the show here. It is thick and flavorful with a sweetness that isn't cloying. If I were to compare it to something outside of the realm of coffee, I would say cheese foam that is put on milk tea in some places. You take a little sip of the whipped cream and the iced latte comes rushing in from underneath. My *only* critique is that there was a lot of whipped cream. Too much, actually. Even trying to drink as much of it as I could, I had leftovers topping my ice cubes at the end. I would recommend either asking for less whipped cream or seeing if the cafe has adjusted the amount. I also got a chocolate croissant that was pretty good. It was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The chocolate was a bit too gooey for me but the bread was on point. Overall I like the creativity of this spot with the "walk to work" and house made whipped cream, that's a big differentiator in what would otherwise be a standard high-quality third wave coffee shop. read more

Great atmosphere, it's so cozy and welcoming I wish I lived in the area bc I would def do my remote work here. I ordered a pour over and it was an Ethiopia origin that was made known by a little info card that shared the beans info, but besides that the cup was brewed perfectly to highlight the sweetness of it, NOT over-extracted like some places, they really know they're stuff. I got a cappuccino and a pastry to go. The pastry was really good but the cappuccino was more like a latte, not much milk foam. The coffee quality seemed good though. The cafe space and ambiance was very nice so great for hanging out. My only complaint was how long it took for the order to come out. There were only 3 orders ahead of me but I waited for 20 minutes for my cappuccino (pastry was premade). It's not the end of the world but I would recommend only coming here if you are planning to dine in. If you're in a rush you might wanna pick a different spot. read more

Stopped by on a rainy Sunday morning for a caffeine fix. Tried the mischief - espresso with home made cream and the mocha. The cream was fluffy but very rich - I'd prefer the mischief with a little less cream but that's just my preference. The espresso was well brewed though and hit the spot. The mocha was a little on the sweeter side, but still very robust. The baristas were friendly and the service was excellent. Obsessed with the "walk to work" coffee (prefer hot version). Topped with their own sweet cream and pairs really well with the espresso. Interior: The decor is very minimal, accented with light wood and lanterns all over the ceiling, making for a very relaxed interior. There are a lot of seats so it's nice to sit down and study or catch up with friends. Parking: Be prepared to circle around for street parking. read more

This coffee shop opened near me in first hill. They have a really cool interior with natural wood tones and primary colors. They also have some tasty pastries which appear to be delivered daily. URL has a few signature drinks as well as the essential coffee drinks such as a cortado, cappuccino, macchiato, latte, etc. I have tried their signature drinks and they are okay, but I don't typically get sweet coffee or iced lattes so I can't judge them. Their kitchen is closed for a week yet they don't allow people to bring outside food in. We pleaded to give us an exception since their kitchen was closed, the barista did not bat an eye - just blatantly denied our request with no logical explanation. If they had an explanation as to why, we understand but she was unwilling to communicate. Overall, we are very disappointed in how she handled the situation. There was no customer service at all. I highly suggest going to trubites which is only 3 minutes away if you're looking to grab a bite not just coffee. They have much better service and food options. Unfortunately we won't be coming back, even though the matcha latte was ok - the service was extremely poor which brought a bad impression. read more

They're still in their soft opening stages, but they still got lots of choices for drinks & pastries (forgot to snap a pic of the menu sry). I got the "walk-to-work" signature drink which is an iced latte w/ cream on top and it was so yummy!! I'm always scared of signature drinks being too sweet, but this was a perfect balance. The cream was also SO THICCC (IN A GOOD WAY), I liked sipping it at first but ended up getting a straw so I wouldn't constantly have cream on my lips The staff is so nice and accommodating too! They saw I was going to sit to study and gave me the wifi password without me even having to ask. It's the small things that making a lasting impression for me hahaha. I can imagine parking around here would be kind of a nightmare but that's Seattle for ya. This review is actually long overdue- I go to URL almost every morning to delight in their lovely espresso (usually in oat-latte form with their brown sugar syrup). The walk-to-work is also a fan favorite at my work, and their matcha is really well done! The baristas are really expertly at their coffee-craft, so you must try the pour over if you really enjoy tasting coffee. The barista gave me a wonderful recommendation on how to taste it to get all of the coffee's flavor notes. Also, the owner and staff are ALWAYS. SO. FRIENDLY. Even if their drinks weren't as wonderfully tasty as they are, I would probably come anyway because they are so considerate and good at what they do. Extremely impressed with this place. I drove to this part of town intending to buy a bag of coffee beans from my normal spot, but they were closed, so I thought I'd try this place. They had a couple options of beans available, and one in particular sounded intriguing. I asked if they had any at the bar that they could serve as an espresso, and the barista promptly opened a new bag of the stuff, made several shots, adjusting the grind as he went to dial it in, then served me the resulting shot. He clearly knew what he was doing, because the espresso he served me is the best I've had in Seattle so far. read more
