Apparently, the boyfriend thinks this is better than the other breakfast place in town. I think it's alright, but I find the interior a bit dated and dingy - pretty standard for a diner. The menu is also not very extensive, which is alright but not what I'm used to at a diner. Food seems consistent and cheap enough to keep going back for the odd meal here and there. I normally love this resteraunt and my dad wanted a meal, so I ordered one for me and my mom to split too. The fact when I picked up the food, there were barely anyone sitting and eating was a sign, because it is usually packed. We got lima beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, and open roast beef sandwiche with gravy. Looking through reviews confirmed to me this place is under new management because the food was awful. Everything was bland. The mashed potatoes didn't look like anything and were flavorless down to the gravy. The gravy was runny and so light I could barely tell it was there and might as well not have been there with how flavorless and tough the beef was. I could barely cut through the beef or even chew it; couldn't finish any of it. Even the lima beans which are usually delicious, tasted like someone took frozen beans, threw them in a pot, and threw them in a bowl with no seasoning; were undercooked, too. My family goes here ALL THE TIME! The food is always good, but this time our service was... well I'm sort of speechless for words for it. The waitress was rude to my family from the beginning. She was getting our drink order and my aunt asked if we could also get the two kids food in too. She replied sternly, "I'm just getting drinks right now!". My aunt replied , "sure but maybe the kids can eat before us?" She said fine, got the remaining drink orders, asked if we knew what the kids wanted & left to get drinks. Comes back with drinks and.... *wait for it* yells out "water?" Someone grabs it. She says "another water?" ..... "PAY ATTENTION!". Literally just yells for all of us to "pay attention". Now had SHE been paying attention when we ordered drinks she would've known who ordered what and not had to auction off the drinks. She also rolled her eyes at my family. There was more attitude when I asked to put in a sandwich to go. I was told to remind her later and when I did AFTER SHE ASKED IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING ELSE & I was told to "Give her a minute!" Why ask if we need anything else then? NEVER have i seen someone treat their customers like this first hand. Went for brunch and got a Reuben sandwich. I enjoyed the heck out of it. The decor hasn't changed much from the previous establishment but it's not terrible. It was race day today and the place was packed. After talking to the waitress, Sunday is normally busy anyway. Went there for breakfast and the pancakes were really good, which is why the score is a three. I ordered a big breakfast that consisted of three breakfast meats which we intended to share; seemed like a good deal being less than $9. It came out on an obnoxiously large platter that had fingerprints on the sides and the sausage wasn't ready so that had to come later. When the sausage finally came, more than half way through the meal, it was over cooked. It didn't look appealing; I can't believe a cook and then a waitress would even bring it to us. I was initially just bothered that their specials travel around on a white board and are left next to your table for you to read, seems so impersonal. I ordered the gyro sandwich, which I must say is probably the worst gyro I've ever had. The meat tasted like it was frozen and then heated up on a grill. The pita was filled with more onions than a person could ever want. The tzatziki did not have any flavor. Too bad their French fries were good, but that was about it. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese, the server forgot it, and when I asked her for it, the Mac and cheese had been microwaved, so of course it was dry and rubbery. Hanging out with the "New York guy" today and we've ate here twice today! This morning we had breakfast which was very good, and now we are having a late lunch. The food is pretty good, the service is relatively prompt, & the prices are reasonable. Decor is a little dated yes but as long as the food is good who cares? Bathroom could be a little cleaner but other then that, its presentable. Be sure not to park on the side with Meinieke or you might get towed. There's ample parking in the back . Was a couple months ago when I went there for dinner after physical therapy. Seems like Neko's didn't change much. Decor stayed relatively the same even when it was Neko's. I tried the fried crab cake, but unfortunately I didn't finish it, I was a bit disappointed, I'm sorry to say. The waitress was just OK. Polite, but we noticed she spent more time talking to her coworker and texting than she spent serving our table. This place has some of the greatest home style food around. Their prices are super reasonable, the place is always clean -- and busy, which is a great sign. Though it's busy, we're always seated within five minutes. The service is friendly and prompt, and we always leave full and looking forward to the next time we come here.
