Do not trust this office. Had an international package, tracking showed out for delivery. They passed by my house and delivered nothing. Afterward, they set package status as "Arrived at hub". I called two days after and the manager/supervisor named Osama supposedly looked for it but couldn't find it. Claims it was lost. A week later, they tried to do the same thing to another package until I called right away and they found it. I highly recommend to not use USPS as your delivery choice for packages. There are thieves there and their managers cannot even see who updates the tracking and have no willingness to do their jobs. read more

This is the worst post office hands down !! EVERY SINGLE PERSON that works here seems to absolutely hate there jobs !! They either have an attitude the moment you walk up to the counter or have an " I don't give a f**k" personality !! They don't wanna help you, they don't care where your mail or packages are or where they went to!! I'm staying at a rentals for a month and a half so my husband and I got a P.O. Box to ship our packages and mail. It never fails but when we get any package it seems they can't find it or they some how returned it to sender even though I came everyday asking where is it?!! The supervisor guy, he is by far the worst of them all! He doesn't care about your packages , he doesn't care to look, he doesn't care about where they went !! It's seriously like talk to a rock!! I have requested postal pickup for priority mail many times. I must now have a worker who doesn't pick up my package but still sends a confirmation of pickup. This has happened probably 5 times. I've reported at least 3 of the times it has happened and nothing changes. I get lip service from every person who has reached out to me after I file complaint. Horrible. read more

I went today to mail off a small item and they immediately became hostile. The worker I went to was yelling that my item was insufficient postage. Thats no reason to get mad at me. I explained that I bought the postage on ebay and weighed and measured it (which he did not do by the way) and if I was off somehow, the coding with ebay charges me. I said ill leave with my item. But even as I was leaving he kept yelling accompanied by the worker next to him who I never spoke too (she was waiting on someone else but took time to point her finger and yell). I said please stop yelling at me as you see im leaving in fact I was 3/4 of the way to the door already. They wouldnt stop yelling so I just left as they were still yelling for fear if I didnt leave id be blamed for their conduct in creating a disturbance - if I am not there , I cant be blamed for their yelling. They were yelling about the incorrect postage saying wild things like my incorrect postage will "destroy the system" and other wild rantings. I should feel safe in a post office and in fact do things like read the board with prices etc its a public building. read more

I had to send a package today and thought I would give the Cathedral City US Post Office a try. Really easy to get in and out. Easy 2 minute wait. Lots of parking in the lot outside. It was such a pleasure. The real pleasure came when I encountered Brenda and Victor at the counter. These people are so great and made the visit an excellent one. in person they always seem to have trouble finding someone who speaks spanish to help her, and they run her away telling her to come the next day at a certain hour because "someone who speaks Spanish will be there" she goes the next day and it's the same thing. Most front end workers quite literally hate their job and you can tell with the service of quality you get in person and especially on the phone. They do not go out of their way at all to do the basics of their job and maybe sometimes they'll be in a good mood and be willing to accommodate more to answer simple questions you have but that's not most of the time. Bless all the workers driving around delivering everything and the people in the back organizing everything (especially during these holiday times) but the in office front end customer service is absolutely horrendous, these people should go find another place to work if they can't even take 3-5 minutes of their day to look into a question or concern someone might have. Also, how can you have a business in the middle of cathedral city and not ever have any spanish speaking staff on payroll every time my neighbors goes in, or do they just not want to help because of the way she looks? read more

To be fair, I usually get courteous, competent service from this location, so I'm sure that most of the individuals who work here are doing decent work. However, when I went in to pick up an American flag for my deceased veteran father's funeral, the woman at the counter couldn't get rid of me fast enough. "You have to be a mortuary and you need the right paperwork" was her immediate response. "No you do not, there is no mortuary involved and yes I have the paperwork" was exactly what she did not want to hear. When you stop in at this usps location you begin to understand why so many usps branches are closing all over the country. From unnecessarily long waits, to packages not arriving on time their whole operation is one big dumpster fire. Poor customer service, lack of knowledge and willingness to help in any sort of way. I used to love this post office, but getting my mail delivered is getting to be a pain. Once or twice a month, I use mail hold, but cannot get them to deliver my mail on time. I work in a different city, on a Covid floor and quarantine when I get home. I check the box for delivery AND put it in the comment box that I want my held mail delivered. It's ALWAYS and excuse. Either it's not my regular mail carrier or I have too much mail and if the carrier doesn't see me (am I supposed to sit outside?)) he won't deliver my mail---when it's obvious he didn't even have it in the truck. Only once has my held mail been delivered without a call. read more

This branch is absolutely disappointing. The staff is rude. They deliver a package to me on Friday after 6 pm, no one was in the shop. We had not paid our PO Box(an oversight on my part) and I received an email that it was closed now I went to pay and the female rep was beyond rude since it was in my husband's name, not mine....that I had to bring him back and 2nd ID for both of us(bank statement, car insurance, etc)....that my mail had been sent back and a re-key fee would be charged. This woman and her attitude are why our post offices are failing There was no reason for her to be rude....I was there to pay and reopen the box...that is money they would lose. I gave them 2 stars because the young gentleman that helped upon our return was pleasant and accommodating...even went to unlock immediately. Sent 2 care packages for the holidays to my boyfriend who is deployed and only one made it to him. The items arrived in a bag with all the items ruined and wet. The second box never made it and we have no idea what happened to it. If you are thinking of sending a care package I would not waste the money nor time. Although it was supposed to brighten his holidays it only made him upset ruining the holidays. It's too bad this is how they deliver packages to our troops. read more

The Cathedral City Post Office is GREAT. Everyone of the counter people are friendly, helpful and professional. They are under extreme pressure right now because of the pandemic, but they are courageous group of people who continue to do their jobs well even under trying circumstances. I use the Date Palm Post Office. The personnel are always courteous, and have helped by making sure my items are packaged properly. I notice the complaints, and wonder if these people don't realize there are rules to be followed. Perhaps it was their attitude. For me, no issues at all, just polite people. Oh, when I returned to CA and didn't have a permanent address new rules by Homeland Security meant I couldn't open a PO Box. But I understood when the clerk explained it to me. Just as everywhere be it a Bank, Post Office or DMV Home Land Security has rules for the safety of the Country. We help out when we understand that, and do our part to be prepared. read more

So disappointed in how expensive it is to mail a package. I bought a small gift that cost about $15 and put it in a small box to mail. It cost over $10 to mail it. I'm done mailing packages. I should of just sent $25 as the gift. I've mailed other packages in the past couple of months too and again shocked at the cost to mail the package. Then with them charging so much to mail anything these days the outside of the post office is dumpy looking. The landscaping is awful and unkempt. They really need to clean it up. read more

The move took much longer than expected, so I couldn't get to the post office until Monday. I expected them to tell me that I'd have to wait a whole week to get my new key. I have had live birds delivered to the Cathedral City post office five to six times in the past. Today I'm expecting another delivery. The purpose of this review is to describe the deterioration in service I received today, compared to past telephone encounters. I called four times today, listened to the automated message and remained on the line as instructed. Four times I was placed automatically on hold and then disconnected after lengthy waits. A woman answered the fifth call. However, she was less than helpful. Previously when I had birds shipped and phoned the post office, each person who answered offered to see if they had any live birds delivered that day, and seemed genuinely concerned for the safety of my birds. The woman today was dead set on not leaving her desk.. She repeatedly referred me to the automated system to check my tracking number. I asked if she would see if anything was delivered for me today and she declined, stating she cannot confirm my identity over the phone. Although not at all helpful, she did speak in a syrupy sweet voice, indicating she has misunderstood what true customer service actually means. Who knows why today's interaction was horrible. Maybe it's less staffing, maybe a particularly busy time or maybe just a lazy employee. That's for the management to figure out. One would think with the horrible press the USPS has received lately, specifically in terms of birds arriving dead, employees and management would be eager to rectify that reputation. That certainly wasn't my experience today. read more

Spent 3 months attempting to educate our mail carrier that we share the same numbered address, but different street name, as a house around the corner and to stop delivering mail for their address to us and to stop delivering mail to our address to them. We even took mail that was delivered incorrectly to our address back to the post office. The issue continued. It was finally resolved when I sent a registered letter to the post master advising that we would throw out the mail, including Amazon deliveries, that was delivered to us for our neighbor's address. Our neighbors offered no support or assistance to resolve the issue. We are not employed by the USPS and it is not our responsibility to deliver mail to the correct address. The issues continue. The USPS seems to celebrate their own ignorance and arrogance. USPS mail carriers have damaged the address numbers on our mail box 3 times now. They have damaged landscape lighting in our yard because they apparently don't understand the difference between landscaping and paved walkways. We have paid to repair the damage they have caused until now. A USPS mail carrier drove into our mail box, knocked off the last number of our address, drove over it, and drove away. We sent a "complaint" to the USPS and requested a reply by phone call. We received a passive aggressive email telling us that we could call them if we'd like to discuss the matter and they were "very sorry". The matter has been referred to Congressman Raul Ruiz to resolve. Unfortunately we have no choice for standard email, or one that is affordable. Mr. DeJoy has pledged to defund the USPS. Can't say that we are against him taking this direction. read more
