Old School but it works. There is a small but efficient parking lot, and a drive up Post Office box. There is ample parking in the area (McDonalds parking lot across the street) so it's a nice option of driving. The location also has a nice number of cost efficient post boxes. It's a convenient location if one needs a Passport, and the space is large and provided all mailing needs. The staff was friendly and efficient. I don't know why this place has such bad reviews. I've been going here for years. The place itself is a decent size and clean. It is definitely busy here whether it's mailing items or getting your passport done. Staff that works here is super nice and helps you with all your service needs. They have a self-service kiosk, but I always stand in line to get a receipt (eBay sales). The line may seem long, but it moves pretty fast. Passport lines always seem super crazy, but it's always a family getting it done. Honestly, I feel like with any post office, you just need a little patience. When you're in a rush, nothing ever seems to go right. Every now and again, you'll get somebody complaining. "This place is slow." Honestly, they are just giving their undivided attention to the person they are helping. You'll get it too when it's your turn. It's out of their control when someone wants to ship so many items and aren't ready. There was one time I was there, and someone sent between 50-100 pieces of certified mail That is a lot of work. Treat others how you want to be treated. Don't be a "Karen." Things will definitely run smoother. read more

I went to this location to get my passport renewed. I had some corrections that needed to be made and the staff here were patient and friendly with helping me through the process. This is one of the few US post office locations open on a Saturday from 9am-12:30pm, so their lines can get very long. My family has officially lived in this area for 45 years this December, and this post office is the one we've used all that time. This is definitely a full-service post office; there's nothing they can't handle. Over the years the lines have gotten longer, but that comes with demographics, heh. :-) One of the great services this post office has is for passports. I bought stamps for wedding invitations from the machine to save time. It had displayed regular stamps, but it printed out stamps that looked nothing like what was represented on the screen and just are a QR code not usable for the invites. The staff would not let me return or exchange them for regular stamps and had also told me to come back another day, but would still not let me do it when I returned. I don't recommend. read more

My package from this post office was delivered to a completely different city despite my shipping address being clear it was Daly City, mind you this is Daly City USPS. I am just as confused as those reading why my package was driven to a city almost 15miles away. When I filed a report and claim, the representative from this post office disclosed HIPAA violations on the driver that supposedly delivered my package and urged me to file a claim for $100 because that's "all they can insure for my package being delivered to the wrong address." I know how difficult times are and things can get messed up but this seems out of touch. It was a gift for my mom who is out of country and I'm leaving the next day to meet her. An unfortunate event and I hope their delivery drivers and staff handle this more professionally next time. read more

This man was having a meltdown because... well who knows why. I will say Clerk #19 was very calm and gracious with him and he was a complete jerk. He had to step out of line to write an address and get his package in deliverable order. So he stood at a table huffing and puffing, while he abruptly tossed his package. Weirdo!!! I don't know what is wrong with the Daly city post office but I have paid for a PO Box in another town to forward my mother's mail back in September 2023. It still doesn't work. I have called numerous times. I have spoken with the postmaster in Daly city who said somebody had a heart attack and that was the reason why mail wasn't forwarded. doesn't make sense. It is imperative that the mail get forwarded as it contains checks for my mother to sustain her care in a nursing home. The house has been vacant for one year and the mail still continues to go to the house and forwarded to the po box which I paid $240 for. Hopefully, Yelp will get some action but I highly doubt it because... it's the US government. Please help. read more

I went to the Daly City post office to change the appointment for my sons passport application. The clerk told me to reschedule online. I mentioned that I had made the appointment at that same office a week ago and could I take care of this while I was there. She refused to assist me and told me again to "go on line". At that time there was only one other person in line and there were two clerks at the front counter. Instead I came to this location to see if they would tell me the same thing. The gentleman who worked this afternoon at the Daly City location took it and processed it without any trouble. I needed help interceting a package of mine that was being delivered to my old address and it was already on the delivery truck. I had collective help from 3-4 postal workers that went above and beyond to help me. They were able to get my package and hold it for me at the post office. I scheduled an appointment for a passport 3 weeks ago, left work early and drove 40minutes only to find out that all passport appointments were apparently cancelled today. the lady at the front desk said that they had called to let people know the appointments were cancelled but I did not receive a call, I asked if they could help me reschedule as I need the passport asap and they told me they could not and to go check the kiosk. The kiosk was not working and the lady was incredibly unhelpful. I do not recommend this business. I also witnessed the front desk lady being very rude to other customers and as soon as I walked in the First Lady at the desk immediately left and put up her "go to next window sign". read more

Better than most post offices. They have a parking lot and there is always available street parking. Usually mail supplies are stocked and very happy about the always open self serve kiosk. Most of the staff here are friendly, but it depends on the day. The lines can get long but I find that true at any usps location. read more

Much gratitude to the staff and carriers at the DC Main post office, which has been my local post office for decades. I scheduled a carrier pick-up for this morning for 2 items (package+regular mail). However, UPS had also delivered a package 10 minutes before the carrier's arrival. The carrier picked up both packages - the outgoing USPS ones and the UPS-delivered one. I called Sullivan Ave and someone contacted my mail carrier, who found the UPS package and handed it off to a UPS driver. That UPS driver then gave it back to my regular UPS driver, who just re-delivered it again tonight. I am very grateful for the efficiency and customer service, especially in the middle of a pandemic and holiday mailing surge. Went in for walk in (states 10-11 walk in for passport) but the person was out sick. Booked appt online for later, but thought I will give another try. The ladies who work behind the counter are dedicated, hard working and efficient. You cannot blame them for the lines or the USPS rules that may frustrate some folks. I was there this AM to pick up some mail and undelivered packages (we moved to a new house that is not yet on the maps) and the clerk behind the counter was able to retrieve 5 packages. I also received a call within 12 hours from Rosalynn of the post office to confirm that my web inquiry on USPS about undelivered package was resolved. April 17th and 18th are busy days at the post office as people hurry to stuff their checks in the mail. About 15 or more people in line at around 4pm and the line moved quickly with 5 clerks efficiently moving things along. Patrons are apparently prepared and quick. Metered street parking allowed me to time the whole visit clocking in at less than 11 minutes, incredible. Daily City is known for bad weather (yup, it was raining) but the people in the city are great - both patrons and clerks alike: polite and thoughtful. read more

This is my go-to post office because of how fast and friendly, helpful the people are! But this is the last time because the "supervisor" himself would not honor an issue that was not my mistake. I paid for 1 day delivery ($25), it was attempted delivery and the carrier brought it back, I asked for a re-delivery the next day, was not delivered until 3 days later. I gave my brief explanation to the supervisor and all he could say was "but they made an attempt" I also asked for a sign waiver and to just leave the package there. Delivered Guarantee or money back, NOT attempted delivery. After i told him, I spoke to the Elk Grove post office and USPS customer service, he still refused. So here I am at another post office getting a refund, because this is the 3rd time I've gone to Daly City post office and again, always fails to be delivered the next day. The supervisor was just not helpful and didn't have a legitimate explanation. So I told another supervisor here at the post office I'm at and they quickly understood the situation. read more

This location is easy to get to but the building is in need of repairs. There cracks and water stains on the walls (especially in the offices). The place has a feel of late 1950s; nothing modern here. Besides the building needing a facelift, the people working there are helpful and courteous. The service they provide is good and very fast. Hopefully, US Post Office can spend some money to make changes. The staff needs it. read more

I got a pick up slip at home and proceeded to the USPS office. I gave them my slip and the supervisor said they could not find it. She said she would find it and give me a call or drop it off at home. I left my number and offered to call them to check back but she said it wasn't necessary. I came back a week later and she said they sent it back to the sender.... WTF? I asked who sent it so I can track it back. She says she can't find out. I asked who it was supposed to be delivered to because there was no name on the pick up slip. She says she doesn't know. She told me to file a complaint.... OK. Most difficult post office I've ever been at. Avoid "Chat" when doing your transactions. Not only talks down to you but refuses to acknowledge other services offered at other post offices. I specifically asked for my package to be sent via media mail as I've been sending my books the same way via Post Offices in San Mateo and she told me the only way I could send any package was via weight and that I had to purchase a plain white sticker in which I could post the address on it. Had I not been able to send books the media mail package way before, I would not have questioned her statement. When I attempted to explain to her my situation, she stated (rudely) that it is impossible for me to send anything else with a special price. According to her, everything is priced the same and weighed. If that is true, how have I been sending all my packages of books as media mail with a sticker that they print out with the address and price of stamp in San Francisco and San Mateo? This is literally the only post office I've ever had difficulties with and I assure you, I will not be returning. I also plan on calling their customer service. read more

Nice location in Daly City with its own parking lot available and the staff here speeds up the service to prevent the line from getting long. I can see some of the USPS employees are working hard to continue striving excellence in customer service. I like how this post office location have drive-thru mailboxes and this is an amenity that you'll only see at select post office locations. The drive-thru mailboxes are an awesome idea, all you need is to have your sealed and stamped envelopes in your hand then roll the window down, insert your items and it will slide it in to the mailbox. UPDATE: 1/17/2012 I haven't been to the PO on Mission St in Daly City before, but this is my second time coming here and I love it. This is certainly the post office I'll be coming to if I have postal transaction to take care of when I'm in Daly City. 7-Eleven, IHOP, McDonald's, Carl's Jr., Daly City DMV Field Office, JP Morgan Chase, In-N-Out Burger and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts are nearby. All these nearby businesses make it easy for everyone to know and remember where this particular post office is at. 2/25/2014: This post office have their own parking lot available that is a good thing. I came and dropped off my letter in the indoor drop box lobby. They have the self-service kiosk here which is an added convenience for many customers.
