My package from this post office was delivered to a completely different city despite my shipping address being clear it was Daly City, mind you this is Daly City USPS. I am just as confused as those reading why my package was driven to a city almost 15miles away. When I filed a report and claim, the representative from this post office disclosed HIPAA violations on the driver that supposedly delivered my package and urged me to file a claim for $100 because that's "all they can insure for my package being delivered to the wrong address." I know how difficult times are and things can get messed up but this seems out of touch. It was a gift for my mom who is out of country and I'm leaving the next day to meet her. An unfortunate event and I hope their delivery drivers and staff handle this more professionally next time. read more

I had a bad experience with the Asian woman. She pretends to be nice which is even more annoying. I asked her to hand stamp some wedding invitations as I read online can be done at post offices. She refused and made a huge deal about it. I was pretty upset when the following week another worker recognized me and asked if that was me asking for hand stamping last week. I said yes and he told me that it IS possible and she just said no because she didn't want to do it. I guess if I had ended up with him, he would've done it?? That made me so upset. I came here earlier today (10:20 am - 10:30 am) and didn't see a line at the retail counter which is nice. It is so nice to have a post office here - convenience for consumers indeed. Indoor lobby drop box and PO Box access are open around the clock? NICE! Have letters to mail or packages to ship? Letters and packages needed a correct weight read for accurate postage amount? You came to the right facility for this. It would be nice if there is a self service kiosk (automated postal center) available in the lobby. This post office facility looks clean. I'll definitely come back when I am in the area with postal business to take care of. Overall, nice decent spot for a USPS retail location. Parking: Finding a spot to immediately park your car? Chances are slim! There is a gas station, laundromat, library, tax consultant service, hair salon, dental office, yoga studio and several dining establishments nearby. FYI: Nearby bus stops are served by SamTrans route 120 & 122! Public transportation is of convenience and a good alternative! read more

I usually come to this post office because it's so close to where I live, so it's easy to walk over. It's easy to just go in, drop off your mail/get your stuff done, and leave. How long that will take depends on how many people are in line when you walk in. I've had two different workers help me and would prefer the lady that works there. She's so friendly and sweet! Their stamps selection is pretty minimal, and sometimes there's a line with everyone trying to send their packages out. Besides these and the other worker who doesn't quite smile as much (I've seen him smile once), I would come back because its location is more convenient for me. read more

This location is very convenient to both where I live and work, but everytime I go here, I leave irritated. This is because of one of the employees who I usually happen to get named Manny. He seems to always be in a terrible mood. I have been in here multiple times, he has never been helpful and has the worst attitude. One time I was waiting in line and he was yelling at this women that her package would not be shipped how she had packaged it. (Isn't the customer always supposed to be right...or could you at least assist them?). Today when I asked for stamps, he was not in the least bit helpful and when I asked for different option, just gave me the first thing he pulled out of the drawer (I have been to post offices where they show you all the stamps they have for purchase). I really think they need to ask Manny to adjust his attitude because many other reviewers feel the same way as me. read more

This is a great, small local post office. For some reason when we moved to the area and needed to go to the Post Office, Googlemaps took us to the main one off of Sullivan. Then one day as we were driving we noticed this one located between some restaurants and a yoga place this is your cute, quaint get the job done post office. We have never been when there is a line and always helped by friendly staffers. Great place! read more

Bad service and poorly stocked. Had to wait in line to be told they had no flat rate boxes. Only one person working. Just a dirty little post office. A guy before me needed his box top taped and the guy said "No tape. Buy tape". May as well start using another shipping company, you feel like you are a bother here. Time to VENT!!!! Both Daly City post offices are a joke! It's so hard to park your car! Southgate office shares parking with restaurants, cleaners & the Library etc. on a busy street. And the Sullivan location is just as bad because their parking lot is tiny. I'm very frustrated as, I dropped off a Priority Mail package inside, through the mail slot where they have the PO boxes because the customer side of the office was not opened yet on Oct.4th. The recipient has yet to receive it. Now it's 9 days and tracking # looks like nothing was ever scanned or received by the post office. So it's a good guess, these morons lost my package!!!! Several days later I spoke with their Supervisor who is not on the premises at the Southgate location where I mailed my package. I was told to go to the main office on Sullivan where she works. She advised me to wait until the holiday (Labor Day) weekend was over and she would research and get back to me. So far, one phone call from her on Oct.11th with no news. I am so frustrated as the recipient is as well. My complaint is, no one at both post offices (Southgate or Sullivan Ave) ever answer the darn phone when I call. And NO voice message provided to leave either! It just rings and then hangs up! I ended up calling the USPS Tracking Service and created a case number which did nothing to help at all. The recipients post office called and said they haven't received the package and had advised me, the only thing I can do now is to file a claim but have to still wait at least 6 more days to do it. This is becoming a nightmare for me as the recipient is upset now and wants to file a complaint against me with eBay and I'm not the one who lost the package! If you ever want to mail anything at these post offices, hand it to the customer service people in person and ask for a receipt!!! Mailing it in the slot is diffidently not the best thing to do as, I am learning the hard way! Chances are, the package is lost for good and won't be found! If it ever does, it will be a long time. It's a pretty small location but offers tons of restaurants and stores around it which proves useful while on an errand run or if you are in a midst of a crazy busy day. As everyone already commented, one of the employees named Manny seems hate his job and I have never saw his smiling for the past several years I visited this office. The bottom line is that he does his job okay, even unhappily. The office is small and limited by its space, there isn't stamp machine. Painful to find a parking as well. It is a lot easier to find parking at USPS on Sloat St, but the waiting line is always longer over there as well. read more

I'm visiting from Las Vegas and I came here with a friend to send a letter and we were met with an extremely rude counter lady. The envelope that my friend was sending was one of those vertical ones and they oriented the envelope that way to write the address and return address. Apparently that was wrong. Okay. The counter lady, upon seeing this, adopted a crude and abrasive attitude, constantly making verbal micro aggressions. I have never been helped by anyone more rude. This kind of attitude is a disgrace to the workplace and to the service industry. I work in the service industry and am constantly dealing with customers that are doing things wrong. Kindly correct the customer and move on. You do not need to berate them every step of the way. Anyways, I will do my best to avoid this post office whenever I come here and I recommended my friend who lives here to do the same. read more

Manny, the manager, epitomizes everything that is wrong with the post office. He is rude, self-righteous, and willing to make a fuss over a piece of tape. I asked for a small piece of tape to seal my box. Although he had a roll of scotch tape next to him, he rejected my pleads and pointed a roll of tape for me to buy. None of the other employees ever smile. I guess if I had a manager like Manny I wouldn't either. I will never go back to this post office although I live a couple blocks away. This was the worst service I've ever had in a post office, thats for sure. We came by to drop off some packages, and from the moment we walked through the door, the elderly man working at the desk to the far left looked pissed we were even there. He barked at us to take stickers off the boxes and to label them. He told us to buy labels for like .69c each. After seeing him talking to another customer with that attitude, we just left. We went to another post office where they gave us labels that are FREE OF CHARGE. So not only did we have to deal with his bad attitude, he was too lazy or incompetent to have given us free labels. I went by here to send a few packages to my friend in NY. when it was my turn I was greeted by an older Philipino guy. He didn't say hello. Assume he just wanted to know what I wanted and get the line going. Ok, that's fine. He asked me what kind of delivery I wanted. I answered standard delivery please. He tells me how much the cost is. Ok... I swipe my card. As the postage prints out, I ask him when does he think the package will get to its destination? He answers, "it'll get there when it gets there..." In a very rude and sarcastic manner. I reply, "Oh really??? Ok..." First thing I did when I got home was to phone this posts location to speak to a supervisor. I told the supervisor that I would like to make a complaint against one of the counter workers. This supervisor tells me that I need to call the Sullivan location as the complaints go through there. Ok, no problem. I call the Sullivan location then to be told that the supervisor who handles complaints will not return until after 2pm. Ok. I called back to tell the supervisor of how rude that person was. And that it is unacceptable for any response like that as these employees represent the USPS. She was shocked that u told her this and she said she will handle it. I sincerely hope she did. I hope this guy gets reprimanded to suspended. In don't care how much of a bad day you're having or had. Don't treat customers like this. There are plenty of people out there who would love your government job and would, Im sure, do a way better job than this guy. I'm sorry I can't remember the employees's name. Maybe two or three days later my friend in NY contacted me to thank me for the packages. I was surprised that they got there that quick. Maybe my complaint got them to speed the shipment. But that still doesn't make there behavior right. So do yourself a favor and don't go here. Save yourself any frustration. USPS are already going down. They're just lucky that there no other USPS around. Go to a UPS store. At least they're more professional. read more

What happened to this place? The Priority supplies are hidden behind the desk, so you have to wait in line while the self service station sits unused. There was one very sloooooooowwww clerk and piles of junk everywhere throughout the place. It used to be so nice comparatively...what happened WestLake Post Office? They need an automated machine like that one in sullivan avenue. It's hard to find parking there too, because it's right next to the apartments and a row of eatery and restaurants. I would rather go to sullivan just because of that. The service is good though, just the parking issue. read more

I don't know why this place gets bad reviews. I've always had good experience here compared to other post office. The lines are very short and the customer service is awesome! I've never been treated by postman/women so nicely at other usps offices. It's always the asian lady and white/hispanic man (I think his name is Mark?) who serves me. They are knowledgable about postal stuff and will try to give you the best option. They are never rude to me but friendly. Yes, you heard that right, friendly! Whaaaa who does that anymore? Also its in a strip of stores so you can do other stuff too while you do your mail. Minus 1 star because the flat rate boxes aren't always available and you have to wait in line for them. read more

I have never experienced such awful service EVER... much less had it happen on two different occasions! I'm not sure what his name is, but he's a middle aged to elderly asian man (with glasses possibly?), and he is the sole reason why my experience at this USPS was terrible. The first time I went in I was the only customer in the store and, since I rarely go to the post office, I had a couple of questions. When paying for my package, he asked if I wanted insurance to go with it... I asked how much that would cost and he responded that it would cost ___. I politely declined, which apparently warranted this response from him: "Um.... OKAYYY... Now I have to CANCEL all of this." I don't know why he was so annoyed. He seemed like he hated his life, or at least his job. His attitude was so appalling that I was very hesitant to come back to this office a couple of weeks later when I had another package to ship. I considered driving to a post office further away just to avoid this man, but this USPS is within a 4 minute walking distance from me so I decided to give it one more shot. This time there was a pretty big line and 3 USPS assistants at the front desk. I prayed I would be helped by one of them but, to my dismay, I had to go to him. Their flat-rate section didn't have any boxes left, so I assumed they had sold out but asked him anyway, "Are you guys sold out of your flat rates?" He responds: "NO. YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR THEM...." Last time they were just there and you could pick one up yourself, so for him to act like I should know that you have to ask for them makes no sense because I didn't have to before. I tell him which one I wanted and he brings out the larger one, so I said "oh I think this is the wrong size". He SNARLED... yes.. LITERALLY SNARLED and snatched it out of my hand and brought me out the right size. Sorry to ramble on about these two horrible experiences, but I can't imagine why a professional institute would keep such a rude employee on staff. It makes their company look terrible. My advice for anyone going into this USPS is to dodge this man like the plague. If you have to wait an extra couple of minutes to be helped by someone else it would definitely be worth your time. Don't let his horrid and unprofessional attitude taint the rest of your day as it did mine TWICE... As for why I gave 2 instead of 1 star... The location is great and the office is clean and usually uncrowded... but they seriously need to reconsider their staff. I am still appalled. read more

We had an emergency and needed to put through a rush passport application. It was an ordeal to get the papers together before hand, but we were able to present the documents to the passport office and get what we needed. This place can get crowded, but they managed to balance working with care and accuracy with getting everyone through expediently to meet demand. The only complaint is that the lobby seems to be a bit small for the crowds. But that is true at all the busy government offices. read more
