6/30/26: I was attempting to track down a certified letter that was supposed to be delivered to Carvana's billing department in El Monte. The letter was time sensitive. I mailed it on 6/24, and it was supposed to arrive by 6/30. I tracked the letter via the USPS website, and as of 6/27 8:57 am, it had arrived at the Santa Ana distribution center. I continued to check the USPS website, and there were no further updates. On 6/30, I spoke with a rep at the Santa Ana Distribution Center, and she advised that the El Monte Office may have failed to scan it. She gave me the name of the Postmaster, Daniel Jardines, and gave me a number to call: 626-444-1966. I called the number and Jose answered. He started of with an attitude, but I advised that I was given this number. He said that the number was for employees use. I explained that I was tracking a certified letter, which was time sensitive, and after a brief hold, he said that the El Monte office did not have the letter. I asked if it was possible that the letter had not been scanned when it arrived, and he said that wasn't possible. He then told me that he would call me back the next day. A couple of days later, I checked with Carvana, and they received the letter. As of 7/16, the USPS site shows the letter at the Santa Ana Distribution center, and I have yet to hear from Jose. This has been a very frustrating experience, considering that I paid extra to send the letter via Certified mail, the tracking system did not provide accurate information, and despite Jose's insistence, the letter had obviously had been processed through the El Monte office. Jose should have reached out to me with updates, but I have to believe that he did not feel it was a priority, despite me having told him that the letter was time sensitive. He should not have set the expectation that he would follow through and contact me if he did not have the intent to do so. On 7/17/26, I received a call from Jay, who once I asked, identified himself as a supervisor. He asked for the certified mail tracking number. He was unprepared for the call, as he missed key details in the inquiry that I submitted. Once I pointed them out to him, he was still unable to provide a satisfactory answer. He "assumed" that the certified mail barcode sticker had come loose between the Santa Ana Distribution Center and El Monte Post Office, which is why the letter wasn't scanned, and therefore no updates were available in the USPS tracking system. He mentioned speaking with the carrier to see if he/she "remembered" the letter. That seemed to be an unrealistic request, due to the amount of days that had gone by. He didn't address why Jose didn't follow up with me. Jay displayed poor leadership qualities, despite according to him, his "many" years as a postal carrier. He did refer me to the post office where I dropped off the certified letter to request a refund. He did not offer any empathy for this negative experience, and did not offer an apology. I advised him, that since he was a "supervisor", to take a look at the consistent trend of negative reviews on Google and Yelp for the El Monte Post Office, and advised that improvements start from the top. He was noncommittal in taking the time to look at those reviews. In short, he wasted my time. read more

For a Saturday the que wasn't out of the building! Wait time was a reasonable few minutes! Really liked the colorful new scanner with the ultra fun buttons a bit on the smaller side but it was ultra bright colorful and efficient ! Price moderate and reasonable, reliable and it's the USPS! Like most post offices, crowded and painfully slow lines. But I would not say it would be due to the efforts of the friendly staff. Gets pretty busy in the lat afternoons and lunch hours. I would suggest coming in at non-peak hours. read more

I came this time right when it opened at 8:30am. Experience was quite different this time and line went pretty fast. The worker that helped me was super friendly and very efficient. I was able to pickup my package with ease and all under 5 minutes. Recommend coming early if you want to take care of your business, it'll save you a lot of time. read more

Today I called usps because my mail was not being delivered. I spoke with a "Supervisor" named Jay without a last name. I was unable to get his last name. He said that nobody notifies the customers when they stop delivering mail. I received insulin by mail his answer was now you need to track the mail by calling the pharmacy and get the tracking number and to call the usps to let them know if I can go to pick up my mail. I'm 60 years old unable to drive suffer from depression, high blood pressure, diabetes, anxiety and many more illnesses. Have a lost piece of mail that was to be delivered Saturday 4/19/2025. I visited my local post office and was told due to Easter mail is delayed. Been 5 days - 04/23/2025 and sill haven't received this piece of mail. The person that answered said they cant check. I told her that it was informed delivery and was to be delivered on 4/19/25. As I am writing this post, I am on hold since 8:30 AM PDT. It is now 9:21 AM PDT. I am still on hold. Package drop in back dock opens at 9AM - 4:30PM EXCEPT on Saturday close at 1PM. I heard it's closing down for customer drop's permanently in 2025. I'll go to city of Industry. Can the postmaster have the employees clean out the package drop bin inside the P.O. Box area? It's always full by 10AM when I get there!!!!!! Back dock is great and less lines for dropping many packages, however when I only have 2-5 small pieces off ground advantage why must the drop bin always be full?????!!!?!!! read more

As a reminder, this review, and my prior reviews are from a business, not a residence. Can it get any worse? Does anyone out there know what happened to the mail carriers of yesterday? There is absolutely NO friendly interaction any more. It's all been replaced with jamming the mail into the mailbox as fast as humanly possible, to then make a clean getaway so as not to have to "deal" with anyone. That's how it feels and it's frustrating! I had a box to go out that could not fit inside our outside mailbox, so I put the red flag up, which means the mail carrier must ring the buzzer to come inside and get the package. Well, they did not ring the buzzer.... I watched them shove mail into the box, put the flag down and start walking away. I opened the door and said "Excuse me, we have outgoing mail!" And when I spoke to this person (someone I've never seen before), they were genuinely disinterested in taking my mail. Almost as though I was wasting their time. I just said "forget it, I'll take it myself" because at this point, I didn't want my package thrown around or damaged, just because this mail carrier saw that I was disappointed. We are a business, for crying out loud! Yet, they seem to do the bare minimum any more to "escape" as fast as they can! Honestly, I don't think mail carriers today take any pride in their work like they used to many years ago. One proof of this, is how much incorrect mail we get on a semi regular basis. I had very positive experiences here. The gentleman behind the counter, Kevin, is awesome. I came to apply for passport and he explained everything thoroughly. When I came back for my passport appointment, the lady, I didn't get her name, was extremely helpful. It took less than 5 minutes. I paid my fees and left. In an out both times within 5-10 minutes. This is BY FAR thee worse post office in the SGV. I go to the USPS often for shipping out orders, and every time it's the same bad experience. Weather the staff is on site but let's ONE employee handle 12 customers, or the employees ignoring you asking simple questions from a far since the lines huge. I had a packaged fully labeled and ready to be shipped, I just wanted to ask if I left it to the side (where other packages were left) if that would he fine, only to be greeted with silence, after repeating myself 3 times he replied "well if you leave it there and gets stolen not responsible" mind you many others drop their packages there as well. Another time I came in to use the self service machine because I'd avoid the rude employees as much as I can, when they locked it up an hour early before closing. I politely asked from the side if someone would help me so I can leave it there to ship, I was told to get in line of 15 people just for him to do the exact thing I was asking for. Wasted 35 mins for a simple request. Rude employees, lack of situational awareness, and long lines due to lack of employees just not lending a helping hand, and overall just a bad customer service id avoid this post office if you can. I went in today to drop off a package. I just got off work too. David , who works there. He "helped me out" gave me attitude saying "I don't have tape" when he had some on his left side. He said "next time come more prepared" it's my first time. I saw the other guy next to him taping a box for this lady. Then someone made a mistake and asked for his help. It is now August 31 at 9Am. I needed to return an online order from Sephora but I don't have a printer at Home. However, the instruction on the Sephora website states that I could bring it to any USPS location and show the staff the label with barcodes, addresses and the infos they will needed to help me out. But when I went to this location, the older Hispanic worker constantly denied to help me WITHOUT even letting me finish what I needed to say nor even bother to look at my return label on my phone with the barcodes. She was very rude and disrespectful. I'm not sure how they train their staff here but that really explains why this location has such low rating. Very Disappointing. read more

I visit this post office frequently. Sometimes it's busy sometimes it's slow. But for the most part everyone there has been well trained. All these bad reviews of they won't tape my label (didn't your parents teach you to bring your own damn tape) or it took forever for my passport (unfortunately getting a passport takes time and if you don't have everything it's gonna take longer) learn how to read what you need before you go there DUHHHH!!!! Please give these postal workers a break. They have to work no matter what even though the pandemic. I will continue to go to this post office. Regardless they are all doing there best. read more

Worst post office ever. Since the covid-19 changes, they are making everyone line up for simple pick ups or drop offs of packages. They've disabled the package drop off reciprocal and don't have a dedicated person to deal with prepaid drop offs which usually takes less than a minute to do. Unfortunately this is the closest location that's open on Sat. so they get a star for that. But waiting 30+ minutes for a 30 second service feels like it's being more dangerous than trying to be cautious. read more

The worker there said she won't accept it, drop it off or wait in line. 3 customers said don't listen to her, just go to the back. The mail carrier delivered some mail to our business with an 'attempted delivery' slip for something that needed to be signed for in between some envelopes without making any attempt to have someone sign. I sent an employee to get this at the end of the day and he was told it was still out with the carrier. We requested that it be held for pick up the next morning. Went to pick it up and was told it was out for delivery with the carrier. Well, we received NO MAIL at all that day. Went back to the post office at the end of that day to complain about this and was told there was nothing they could do it must still be out with the carrier. How does that make any sense at all. The sender paid for overnight delivery and became concerned so a stop payment was placed. I finally received it the following day. Now the sender has to send another check. Amazing how unorganized and unprofessional these people are. read more

So who loves the post office? Heard they sell great food (jk). This post office has a little drive way where you don't have to deal with the nonsense of heavy traffic just drop off your letters and that's it. If you must go inside well more than likely you will get a line but then again that's most post offices. The location is cool because it's in a dead end street and if you are hungry go across the street to doublez ;) if you need a bank ...near by is a Chase, Bank of America, and Citi Bank. Need a passport? You can also go here but I recommend you make an appointment. read more

I often come to this post office to drop off my packages for my online shop. Most of the workers are nice and helpful, except for one very rude and obnoxious worker name "Dave"... my first encounter was to drop off couple of packages that needed to be scanned, he saw my return address in temple city, and rudely told me that next time he won't accept my package because I need to go drop off at the temple city USPS office but not here. Excuse me?!!!! I think I can drop off my packages at any USPS office that's convenient for me. When COVID-19 started, I called the office to ask if my packages will be hold by the El Monte office because I couldn't go pickup due to the situation, the office personnel ensured me that no matter how long it is, they will keep the packages for me due to the special time. I finally was able to pick it up last week, and just my luck to be "served" by this "Dave" guy again, he scolded at me saying "you can't leave your packages over 2 weeks, next time I will return it to the sender". I told him I already called and confirmed it is ok due to COVID-19, he kept yelling at me that I can't leave the packages for so long. How can someone be so cold and ignorant during this time?!!!!!
