One of my packages has stolen at El Monte USPS. I dropped off at the back. A few days later, I have found out that the package wasn't even scanned for data entry. It has disappeared from the logistics system in El Monte USPS. That's why how I have found out. I cannot come to this dishonest and worst customer service USPS ever. If anyone has the same experience, please do share with community. We as customers don't need this kind of facility to be in our community and society. This post office workers here have been stealing packages. We sell online, so sometimes we have a a lot orders. The employees at the front can't be bothered to scan so many packages so they tell you bring it to the back and drop it off in a very annoyed tone. Here, we have had several packages gone missing and these are important orders such as wedding dresses. Seriously? Who steals someone's wedding dress? At least when you open a package to find a wedding dress, repackage it and send it on it's way! It's for someone's wedding! I have brought up this issue with the manager and he just shrugged and say he just puts it in the truck. Lies! You're supposed to scan it and then put in in the truck. Never trust the workers when they tell you to put anything in the back. Maybe it will make it to its destination, maybe it won't. Tough luck... There's not much you can expect from disillusioned post office workers who scrounge on other people's hard work by making a few easy bucks stealing package. Meanwhile, you're the one dealing with an unhappy customer whose package never even had a chance because you live in an area that has one of the shittiest/uncaring post office. Purpose: to pick up a package Arrived 10 min before they open. There were already 3 people in line waiting. Doors finally unlock and open at 8:30am sharp, to the T, by the Hispanic woman with arm tattoos, who is probably the postmaster. We all shuffle in. I went to the first desk where people usually go to pick up package, following the postmaster who just walked behind the counter, showed her my pick up slip and asked if I can just pick up, and she quickly said "Get in line" and walked to the back. Are you fucken kidding me?! RUUUDE and LAAAAZY -- oh right, she's a federal government employee, and even worse she has some higher management position.. Ugh, disgust. It's baffling how the union continues to protect this kind of RUDE, LAZY, POWER TRIPPING federal employees. Now don't get me wrong. I have no complaint against the two Asian ladies working behind the counters. They were weren't rude or disrespectful at all. What a P.O.S. Of a post office. I understand that the employees don't really give a crap because they are government employees anyway... but to entrust this federal service to get your letters from one location to another shouldn't be an issue. I dropped a litter off in the drive-through mailbox, and it never arrived at its location, nor was it returned to me. So now some of my personal information is floating around somewhere, and the Postal Service doesn't give a crap. It's no wonder why bigger carrier services are taking over. This place has the efficiency of an DMV, long line and lots of waiting all the time. I recommend investing in an laser printer, print your labels at home with Stamps/Pirateship and drop it off, it's faster and the rate online are cheaper too. read more

Bad service. Went in for passport service. All info including the website states Saturday hours are from 10am-12:30pm but there is a catch. You got to line your ass up at 6 o crack in the morning to get 1 of 12 raffle tickets. Once 12 are given, that's it. Then you go home, sleep, then wake your happy ass up back and get there at 10 and then wait some more. Asian clerk (Probably Viet) didn't want to explain, just said, we already give da numba, service no more. I said what do you mean no more service, it's barely 10:30am. Your service ends at 12:30 right? Man - no, numba. All gone. What? I said. Man then said talk to supervisor, me no know...‍ Sure bob. Just keep right on doing your job passing customers over to your overworked supervisor when you could have explained your silly raffle rules. Done with this joke of a place. I went at the perfect time. I needed to renew my passport. The lady at the second slot was so nice. But I had further questions ... so after I filled out my paperwork for renewal I had to go to another person - she was the 3 Rd one first roll. She was not nice was short - just because I was doing the renewal via mail she act like she couldn't answer questions. Besides her everyone else was nice. I was in this location last week as I am looking to renew my passport and this male that was working there Asian looking rudely told me to read the directions on how to file when I was asking some questions. He gave me the the renewal form so I filled everything out and I walked in today, just my luck so happens to get him again to tell me you missed and signature and didn't put the address on the folder, go to the back and finish it and come back. Not even 5 min so I lined up again, this time got this other lady who tells me this isn't the correct form, you need this form, come back at 215 and I can help you. It was 1pm so I was like well I'll just wait and fill it here. I come back inside at 2pm as I wait it's 215 and nothing.... 225 and no sign of her. I go up there and ask the lady if she's coming back and she tells me I don't know. I told her she told me to come back at 2:15 because at this point I'm already fed up with the back and forth. She said she couldn't help for this because they had a long line, to make an appointment. Never come to this office, waste of time, unhelpful, and rude workers. Supervisor definitely needs to talk to his employees about upgrading their customer service. read more

Wish I could give this USPS location negative stars. All the clerks who work here are rude, unprofessional and severely lack training. I always have the worst experiences here and it's always around dropping off boxes. We ship a lot of boxes and since this branch is the closest to our house, we come here to drop off our packages. Normally if you already printed out your own shipping labels at home, you can just drop off your package at the counter without waiting in line. Nope, not this branch. They purposefully make you wait in the LONG line (they never have enough clerks and they all take FOREVER) even if you only need to drop off. For my latest experience, I was dropping off a couple of packages and got there a couple minutes before 8:30AM which is when they open on weekdays. The last time I came to drop off boxes, they rudely told me to drop off my packages in the correctly labeled bin the back. So this time before going inside, I went around back to see if they pushed out the bins for drop off yet. The back was empty except for a single unlabeled bin. Since these packages were high in value, I didn't feel comfortable leaving them in a random unlabeled bin in the back so I decided to wait until the branch opened and see if I can leave them on the counter inside. They didn't open until 8:40PM and a single clerk came out to help the long line of people waiting outside. Since I'm just dropping off and didn't need a receipt, I asked if I could leave it on the counter where I usually leave it. She rudely told me no and that I needed to wait in line because they need to check the shipping label. When I said that's not what I've been told before and that the manager told me previously that any drop offs can just be left on the counter without me waiting in line, she told me to drop off my packages in the back. I then asked if the bins have been pushed out yet since I was just in the back and there were no labeled bins. She curtly said she doesn't know because she haven't went to the back yet so I asked her where I should drop off the packages then if no bins were labeled. She ignored me for awhile but when she saw that I wasn't going anywhere, she then told me to put it in any bin because they resort everything again later anyway. When I went around to the back again, of course the bins were still not out and I ended up having to leave my boxes in a random empty bin. This branch is by far the worst branch I've been to. I always try and avoid going here but more often than not I have no choice but to go here since it's the closest to my house. I highly encourage everyone who experienced terrible service at this branch to file a complaint on the USPS website. Hopefully as the complaints pile up, something will be done about the rude service here. Overall, I hate this place. read more

I am truly here to tell you all that this post office is terrible. I would like to submit complaint to asking the government or some sort of organization to PLEASE AUDIT THEM. When we need help, no one cares for. From Manager, Supervisor and to Carrier. They all trying to cover each other mistake, they set their old rule and policy and freeze your emails. This post office package pickup service is horrible. If you are lucky you get a good driver, or you get someone who just does t care. We paid $23 a day for pickup at 4pm and the guy shows up at 1:40. What's the point of this paid service. And when you speak to the manager, they always say I will speak to the driver about it. The managers can't seem to do anything. Make an appointment to do your passports here - Came here at 9 and waited til 10. Was the first person in line, only to find out that they take appointments only. No signs stating that they only take appointments and wasn't posted on their website, either. Employees (especially the Asian one working for the passports) were flat out rude and did not care even if you were the first in line. She was capable of taking in some more walk-ins but was stubborn about it. The West Covina USPS even said the El Monte USPS accepts walk-ins. I've known people who came here to do their passports (without an appointment). read more

Felt this was necessary since it's been about 7 months going to this particular one. Parking is decent except on the prime time which is very common for government buildings. Like most places of service, depends on each client situation for the wait times. As quickly as it forms, it moves just as fast. The ladies never have a smile or frown but they are efficient and friendly. The passport office inside goes mainly by appointment, ask for the book to make one. P.O. box are 24 hours and given piority for incoming mail. read more

I HATE this USPS! I am so sick of them having to ship my packages to who knows where! I live in a house that has a gate to the side and they never even touch it! Every time I get a package, they leave without even leaving an orange slip so I never know if I'm getting a package unless I check online on the site! If they don't have a tracking info then I'm screwed. Even though it says Alhambra on my city, I actually live in El Monte. I want to move out of here so bad just because of the USPS! I went to the post office yesterday and after ten minutes of waiting, they said it's not there. Yes, I have complained about the delivery services all the time! The carriers are so lazy here, they don't even attempt to actually deliver your package. Apparently on my tracking, my package was "attempted". Which is obviously a lie because i waited there and even spoke to the carrier minutes before. NOTHING. The management needs to train their employees more thoroughly. Obviously from all these reviews, they are not doing their job right. I'll have to find out the carrier's name that "attempted" to deliver my package next time i run into him. This place is usually quick when it comes to shipping at the counters but when those guys with the HUGE boxes with like a thousand smaller boxes inside.. forget it. They'll take up two counters while one other is open to help the rest. There's usually someone else walking around the floor helping people in line with forms and questions. He's very helpful. This helps with speeding up processing at the counter as you can fill out all your forms while waiting in line. And just because there are four employees working counter while three of them are busy with only one employee available to help the others.. don't rate one star... Ok, so this USPS is ridiculous. I am not sure if this is just this USPS, or the WHOLE entire USPS, that has this problem, but it seems that I would gladly have UPS does all of my delivery instead of them. 3 times now, and I will likely continue to count forward, that they have either mis-delivered my packages to the wrong address, or just does not deliver it period, but mark on the tracking system as being "Delivered". Thank the lord that it's not my important snail mail and bills that do not get delivered, God knows what happens when that occurs. I should go knock on wood so that doesn't actually happen. Today, #El Monte CA USPS told me that they no long can come twice to pick up my business packages. Their truck is full everytime I see them even they come twice a day. If they don't come twice a day, I don't think they can pick up all my packages. I called the local office, and they are so rude, they told me that I have to pay for it?.... Pay for what, I said? I get it. There are budget cuts and USPS is suffering nationwide. What I don't get is how incompetent, rude idiots can still work at a national establishment like this. I have had to pick up my packages multiple times because the postman was too lazy to call the number on my mailbox. In the most recent case, I had a package available for pickup following the same usual circumstances. I left a sign out, they ignored it, and now require me to pick it up. Enough is enough. I ordered these packages to be delivered because I don't want to go out to pick it up and buy it. This is completely counterintuitive to my immediate goals. So I did the most logical thing - I requested a redelivery. The following day, I checked my tracking number and it still said that it was available for pickup in the most recent activity, but it also said that it was in transit in the header above. So naturally I was confused and I called them to inquire. The lady who picked up was something else. She told me with great hessitation that should would have to look in the back and then call me back. Then she suggested to me was to wait for the mailman to come and see if the package is with him. That will determine whether or not the redelivery has went through... WELL DUH. Why do you think I'm calling? I need to know the information NOW so that I can plan the rest of my day. Stuff gets lost for no apparent reason. Magazines don't show up (only 7 out of 12 Popular Science showed up last year). Packages some times come damaged and they claim its done overseas (could be true but happens too often). Deliveries do not match online tracking, and the usual excuse is 'no one is home', when I'm at home all day waiting for said package - this is especially annoying around the holiday season. But hey, it's your Post Office, its not like you can do anything about it. read more

I have my package on hold here for pick up (not by my choice) and when i come pick up during lunch time and they said they don't have it. ok i told her i came back again on Saturday and I was at the door at 2.03 pm and the lady told me: "we closed!!". how long u think pick up my package gonna be?? The person who was so pose to deliver my package did not try to deliver it at all, i spoke to the person that was puting mail in the mail box and she said that because it was a big package it would have to be deliver to the front door and that it would be done (all this happen around 6:30 on a Saturday) around 7:15 i get a massage that it failed to deliver, so i go check outside and there is no notice that the message told me they left so i went to the mail box and there it was the notice that the person who told me it wood be deliverer to my door because of the sise of it. i live in a mobile home and there is no gate to keep them from coming in or delivering to the door. Shady post office . My packages were routed here due to a vacation hold and it was cut open and my items were missing. this office obviously have people stealing packages. This post office is the worst!! First of all they changed the route for my house to a "training" route and now I very rarely get my mail. It got so bad I had to get a P.O. Box, which I pay a grip for, just so I would receive my mail, and that doesn't always happen. Second of all I was expecting a small package on Saturday and the tracking showed it as delivered, it wasn't. I spoke with the manager on Tuesday and she said her system was down but she would look into it and call me later that day. Well she just called me( it is now Thursday) she said that it was Mis delivered and they are unable to retrieve it( probably because whatever idiot delivered it wrong didn't know where they delivered it) and I needed to call the sender and have them file a claim. Not sure why this post office have poor reviews. I took my dad here to have his passport done. I was in line and Kevin assisted me kindly with a friendly smile. He gave me a number to wait to be called. I was number 3. Waited for about 5 mins. Norma was the lady who helped assisted me and my dad. I was nervous because most of the passport workers out there seemed to be moody and unfriendly. To be honest, Rosemead post office on Valley was our first choice bc we lived close by. But thank goodness the lady working on passport was not in today. I believe her name is Emmy. She renewed my passport in 2013. She was a cold and empty person. No smile or anything. So having Norma who helped us out was a joy. She was professional, friendly and extremely nice. I'm so happy that everything went smoothly. Thank you Norma for your hard work!
