This is the worst postal office ever. They threw away one of my packages that was delivered to my PO Box. Another package that I accidentally dropped off to them, but should've been to UPS was confiscated and disposed of. I mean, how hard is it to just call UPS for a pick up? It was an accident. I do a lot of package and mailing. They miss handle my fragile items. I ship out a lot and they end up being broken. Trying to get the money back from them is very difficult as their website is incredibly hard to submit claims and they like to deny the claims anyway. Just stay away from the USPS if possible. Mailing purchases home from Los Angeles, California... I guess I bought too many gifts for my friends and family. Coming to the conclusion that I need more space in my suitcase, I went to a nearby Post Office and got a Large Flat Rate box. I stuffed as much as I could and went to a different Post Office. The Temple City Post Office didn't have any Large Flat Rate boxes, so, I'm glad that I got a box elsewhere. I had found free street parking because the parking lot was quite full already. There were a couple of customers at the windows, so, I waited for my turn. The nice female worker reminded me that I needed to write a return address on the box. Ok. I asked her how much my box weighed... Almost fifteen pounds... Yikes! Oh, well, that's $21.50 well spent! I'm so glad that I followed the advice of Peter and Iris. I then realized that they only take walk ins from 9AM-12PM, but one of the workers, a nice and sweet lady named Kay decided to help me out! All of the ladies at the post office are always so kind, smiling and have gotten to even know me when I come in. The only reason I'm giving 5 stars is because of KAY she is amazing and completely patient..Her 2 co workers a man with glasses at the desk and a woman with tattoos. We're extremely rude to her for going out of her way to help the people waiting on passports. Kay is very fast and friendly and I really appreciate her time for helping me and my two children with our passports. The disrespect she received from her coworkers was not right it should be dealt with and was very unprofessional in front of the customers. The man just kept saying rude things towards her. I went to ship out a international package. The staffs was friendly but you can tell that they have been working a long time, and with numerous amount of customers still in line as they were closing up. As we waited, I noticed that there was a customer she was having issues with her credit card payment. She became frustrated and started to make a scene at the post office. Yelling at the lady's behind the window counter and complained that they have a crap system. I didn't want to budge in. But I do felt bad she couldn't complete her shipment because her credit card just won't go through or she doesn't have another payment method as in cash. But the customer couldn't keep her cool. And took her package and angrily left. Then post office lady did recommended her to go to the other window, but this customer insists that they should open up another window instead, just for her. The other window with a staff she was willing to help, but she was still helping another customer at the time. But instead the customer made a huge scene and stormed out. I understand the difficulty as a service personnel. It's thought to deal in these matters. But these staff at our local post office mainly kept their cool and did there best. As for I, I am not that pro At USPS services but this post office on Oak Ave they work hard. I would give them a Pat on the back if I could. But just bare with them if your ever here. I've been coming to this post office for decades.... I've never thought about it before, but it's an extremely efficient operation. The staff is always courteous and you can even joke with them and they'll laugh with you. =) It boosts a sense of pride in me when I see the mailmen and "femailmen" (as George mentioned in a previous review) working here with contentment. I would actually really enjoy coming here if only the lines could be shorter and they'd increase the parking situation (reasons for the 4 stars). Don't come here to do your passport. The clerk showed up 40 minutes late to our appointment. Then she took 4 applicants before us because she showed up late. I don't know why post offices get such bad reps as to me, they do alot of work. I always like their help and that it's easy to get things done besides wait in line. Do not give this post office your business. We recently went in and purchased a money order only for it not to be printed out. The money was taken out of our account. But we received no money order. The manager refuse to give our money back. Told us we had to go to our bank. Bank told us we had to go back to the post office. Post office told us we had to go back to the bank. No help whatsoever. And then they gave us attitude. They also mention that it was a second time it happened that day. When a machine starts miss printing out money orders you need to stop and make sure I won't do it again. This is for an important bill, we are lucky to have the money but imagine someone who didn't? I no longer send my important mail to Temple City any longer because of this post office. I had three packages missing in three consecutive months. I subscribe to a monthy beauty service where packages are sent out in every month in a different mailing bubble package than normal. I think that is the main problem. People see this and recognize it, and I hate to say it but I honestly think people are stealing packages. Three times in three months is no coincidence. Either it is stolen off of the mail truck or the mailman misdelivers the packages or something! I actually went back to talk to Jonathan who seems to remember me from the previous month. He does the EXACT same thing, saying he will look for it and will call me. Okay, I give him a week again before I go back to talk to him. I luckily catch him before his lunch hour and realizing that he forgot to call me, tries to cover it up by saying he will look into it again, which is what he promised a week ago! So I ask him for his number and tell him I will call him. He doesn't answer my call! I am just so fed up with this post office and the missing mail. Seriously want to file some sort of complaint. When I was driving down Temple City Blvd, I saw a postwoman with an open bag of mail on the floor and some people around her. Maybe that's why my mail keeps going missing. I'm not a big post office user but I had to ship a package international today. I was surprised of the very very friendly service with a smile here. I haven't been to a post office in a while - as I guess online bill paying has seemed to be the norm along with fed-ex shipment centers. But this post office rocks! The older Asian aunty and uncle behind the counters were fantastic! Super friendly great service with a smile! I even noticed how patient they were with customers who had a lot of questions. Fail. Why close one of two lines to retake customers to use automated machine? A customer answered yes about using a credit card, so she marched her to the Automated postal machine in the lobby. She explained to customer that she is following orders from her supervisor to go out and show people how to use the machine. The problem was that 10 people were in line and her leaving to show how the machine works, did nothing but slow down the line. She disappeared for several minutes. She could of taken care of the same customer and probably another in the time she disappeared. I get they want people to use those machines. Eventually there won't be any counter people - it'll all be automated - but in the meantime......To SUPERVISOR - have them take people out to use the machines when you are NOT busy. Use your head. This post office is OK. I mean, you're gonna have some good and bad days. It all depends. PROS: - You can skip the lines if your package is ready to be sent. That means you have your shipping label, stamp, etc. DONE. Just drop it off in the designated mailing slot. - Nice employees. Yes, there are some really nice ones, especially this one woman. If you get her, you're lucky! - They provide a FREE scale for you to weigh your package and determine the price of it (depends on WHERE you're sending the package to). Also, you can print out shipping labels, which unfortunately, are NOT free. CONS: - Very limited parking spaces. When I say VERY LIMITED, I mean it. I know you won't like it, but you're either gonna wait patiently for someone to leave or you're gonna park on the street. Your choice. - Rude and cranky employees. You will encounter them at some point in time, such as the person who operates the passport department. Oh, that brings me to my third point. - Getting a passport? Well, PLEASE make a photocopy of ALL your documents, including your driver's license, student ID, or old passport. Please print them somewhere other than here. They WILL charge you $1 (or more) for each page they photocopy. read more

I used to go to this Post Office daily, to drop 20-100 items daily. This Post Office has several unique features and was actually setup well for social distancing, long before the Coronavirus... A good Post Office needs only a few things... * Good parking - This is a small post office, so the parking lot is small, however, there is usually a lot of street parking and a USPS parking lot next door accessible to the public. * Short lines - Okay, so the lines here are so short but they have some great alternatives, for example, a self-serve kiosk where you can buy books of stamps or individual stamps (the machine can even weigh and measure your packages), so you can avoid the line. In addition, this post office allows you to drop your package in the back (first class, priority, international, whatever!), for increased efficiency. Plus these bins in the back gets you around the 13 ounce rule (where you have to drop at the counter). * USPS Self-Serve Kiosk - Yes, I mentioned it above, but this machine does everything but process passport applications and sell you money orders. It's great!! Most of the reviews here are complaining about the lines or the speed/mood of the staff, but really there's no need for interaction at all...especially these days! I came in on a Saturday before opening to do my passport. I walked up and the man told me that I need an appointment but I called in several times on several days and no one answered. Then I found out people actually have to walk in and write their names down. I don't understand why they don't just answer their phones. Well here's the next part. He tells me that he can fit me in at a certain time and I say sure. So I take my picture here and wait for 2 hours and fill out my paperwork. Make sure to bring all the materials you need like ID and birth certificate, you can find everything you need online. He gets my passport renewal done and I pay. Before he lets me leave this guy basically FORCES me to take their "customer service" survey! He grabs my phone and scans the receipt and tells me "you can't leave before you do this" and other things that sounded like he was threatening to not get my passport done if I didn't fill this out. Even worse this piece of shit holds my phone when I'm taking the survey and watches me take it! So what am I supposed to do? I couldn't say "bad experience" since he was WATCHING MY EVERY MOVE! I can tell why this post office gets more business than the Duarte/Baldwin one! I've come here about five times this year so far for at-the-counter transactions (and I go to Duarte for the drop offs) and all of the post office workers are really nice, and popular too; I always see people greeting Tim. There's only one young Asian guy who isn't that welcoming but he gets the job done, so no complaints there.. Today I encountered a Vietnamese (?) worker and asked her if I could do two transactions in one visit to her counter, and she said, "why not?" =] so I was really happy about that since in my previous experience at the Duarte one, the mean lady sent me to the back of the line after my first transaction...That wastes time for everyone and is just pointless. The Vietnamese lady agreed after I told her this, and she kept encouraging me to speak up and talk to the manager over there, otherwise nothing will change. Perhaps I will! =) read more
