I'm not going to pretend that I love going to any post office. No one wants to stand in a long line, stand behind someone with 50 packages to send overseas, or listen to people ask questions about stamp designs. Just like any post office, you will find people asking the clerks very detailed hypothetical questions about the specifics of passport photos, counting out pennies to pay for one stamp, and people ranting about the cost of postage. However, I go to this post office several times a week and can tell you that these folks are a better staff than any other post offices I've been to. They are more efficient than most, more professional than others, and more patient than I would be. Though post offices are not known for efficiency, these clerks move everyone along nicely. The thing that people might complain about is that the staff isn't overly friendly or bubbly. They don't chat about the weather, ask about your kids, or inquire about your business. But that is why I appreciate the staff here. They do their thankless job, deal with the public calmly and effectively, and get you out of there quickly. I have seen three clerks at the counter at once here where other post offices will have one clerk with fifty people in line. The staff here wants to help you but they're not there to make friends. This professionalism is rare to find at post offices and why I like this post office better than others. But as I said, the post office just isn't a fun place to go. read more

I have had to come to this office twice now on a Saturday due to the one in my city being closed on the weekends. I was helped by two separate employees per visit and both times I was there the employees were rude and not just to me but the other people they were helping ahead of me as well. I get it no one likes working on a Saturday, I work on Saturdays and it's a bummer but it's your job. Wish I can give them 2 thumbs down!!!The employees here are the worst! Aside from one postal worker the other 2 men were awful. I came in with my 3 kids to try and get their passports and was a bit late, with no one waiting in line the employer Don (man handling passports) did not want to help us, yet there was someone in my time slot. Don must have been on a power trip because there was clearly no reason for him not to help us. I still arrived in my 45 min time slot because I did have to make 3 appointment for each of my children. It's difficult for me to rate a Post Office as sub-par because they all should operate similarly. This is not the case with the Lake Elsinore location. While it is a small site, it doesn't excuse the employees from executing proper and prompt customer service. I was here earlier this afternoon to mail some media items. When I walked in, there was no line and one of the postal workers was assisting a customer with a passport application. There was another postal worker in the window directly next to him. However, I had to wait 2 minutes before he called me up. Why did I have to wait? Because he was busy stretching. Is that appropriate? Shouldn't you do that outside of the customer sight line? I mean I'm all for keeping your back aligned, but I'm on my lunch break and I need to get out of here as quickly as possible. It made me feel uncomfortable more than anything. I was treated and talked to very poorly by a male worker there. My scale used to calculate shipping was off and I dropped of packages that were underweight. He practically ripped them out of my hands and marched over to the scale to weigh them, informing me the weight was incorrect I asked for them back so I could fix them at home as I get a discount from eBay. He seemed upset I didn't want USPS to charge the excess to the customers who would receive these packages. He was rude and talked down to me about a USPS box I had recycled and reused. The funny part is, this isn't my first negative experience with him. I noticed the day I came in with my makeup done and dressed well he treated me much differently, he made small talk, smiled and threw my packages to the side without weighing them. This USPS is always giving me some sort of problem. I like to send packages to loved ones and to sell things on eBay, and I often have the issue of things not arriving on time. Most recently was a care package to my boyfriend. I paid for 2 day shipping (supposed to arrive TODAY), yet they can't even update the tracking. It's just " in transit to next facility " -- where is that ? I understand that things can happen, but why offer tracking if it isn't going to even be updated ? Why charge for two day shipping when it's going to arrive in 4-5 days ? This isn't even the holiday season ... The staff is as upbeat as they can be given the sometimes busy and tiresome atmosphere of the post office, though I find one to be a bit intimidating. I don't know his name, but he looks like a very unfriendly Terry Crews and has been working there for a long time. Update 7/26/18 Yet again postal carrier did not deliver package at 14:10 today but tracking shows it properly addressed. Called post office but the " wait time is one hour". Now asking postal inspector to investigate our local office. Never had any problems in 20 years until our old route carrier retired. Still "Zero stars". read more

My review isn't for this office exactly, but for the poor service of the mail carriers out of this location. Every letter I've put in my mailbox, with the flag raised, has been left and the flag put down. We don't put the flag up just for you to put it down - you're supposed to take the letter in the box and not shove a bunch of other mail on top of it! There are at least 3 carriers that service my area and each one I've seen has failed to do their job. Such a simple task for such good pay! Although ive been here and never had problems im writing this review for today. An older African American male was upset that i used tape to tape up my shipping labels. He told me next time "why dont you pay for tape" and i told him they never charge me then he proceeded to say "well dont be surprised if it comes up" what is that supposed to mean? Incompetent employees they don't help customers. I have done a change of address and for some reason my mail is going still to the old address. I ask the usps to hold a very important piece of mail and they could not even get that right. Now there telling me I might get it in 7 days but there not sure. I have been going to this post office for many years, and since i have my own business and need to mail out inventory I am visiting here at least 3 times a week. I have never had a problem that was directly related to the staff, its always been from customers that were hard to deal with, can't fault the USPS for that. A Post Office is a Post Office, but the staff here has always been extra courteous and helpful with each visit. Can't ask for anything more. read more

Let me just start off by saying I never leave reviews. I worked in customer service for 7 years and now am a healthcare provider. But I have never mailed a package out before. I came into the post office since I thought it would be more helpful than trying to figure out how to do it at home. I approached the man named "Donald" and he said "well how are you going to put this on?" Talking about the pre printed label. He said "I don't know how I always get stuck doing things like this" and snatched the package out of my hand. I honestly don't know how someone that talks to customers has a job in customer service. There was absolutely nobody else in the post office or in line yet he acted so bothered and unhelpful, people like this should NOT HAVE jobs helping people. Seriously. Unfortunately I have been part of Lake Elsinore for over ten years, therefore I have no choice, I have to deal with this location one way or another, whether I like it or not. First off, every time I've tried to send a package out of this location, there is a line almost out the door and only one very rude person behind the counter, no matter the time or day, and every year it's obvious it's only getting worst, Lake Elsinore is a growing city, we have people moving out here from San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles, but for some reason us customers have been able to figure this out, but the postmaster is either stuck in the 90's, or he simply does not care. I never use them any more for sending packages, unfortunately when I receive, I have no choice but to deal with these inept people. The mail being delivered is just one of their many issues, if it's expensive there is a 50% chance you will not get it, if it's the holidays season, 50% you will not get it, if it's bulky, 50% you will not get it or it will arrive either open or partially open, if it's a bulky letter, 100% of the times it will arrive open. 2016 Christmas holidays were the worst for me and my neighbors, seven of my packages did not arrive at all, yes, they were all expensive and bulky, I had the tracking for four of the packages and they all show arriving at the Lake Elsinore Post Office. I have caught the mail lady flat out lying to my face, claiming she left my package on the front of my porch, and that she even knocked on my door but nobody answered, umm WRONG! I have two cc cameras and one faces my front door, never did she leave the package as she claimed, nor did she ever knock on my door, she never knocks on doors according to my neighbors. I don't think she knows this but there is someone at my home always, so if you knock, we will open. Of the seven packages one did make it to my front door, but since she didn't even bother to knock, the package sat there for two hours before a thief decided to pay me a visit only to find a nice package sitting abandoned on my front door. If there is no start ...i will do so. I made paasport appointment 2 weeks ago for Friday afternoon, for 4 people together. So I have to take my kids out school early and I have to leave work early. Our time is from 130p to 230p. And it said to be there 15mins before. We are there at 1pm. And there is one person before us. Her is 115p...we all wait until after 1:30pm to have that lady call in. So ours start at 2pm. So that's one hour of our time...they just late for 30 mins. Fine .... First he called our last name incorrectly by looking at the list he had. Next That person just look at our application. And that's it. Sorry can't take that. Can you reschedule....really. Nothing happen for all that time we have. Keep telling me go to Corona...they have Saturday open. I checked online. No. Nothing... the post man does not even know anything better....and he told me there are 5 more people after me. How??? I have went to this post office a good amount of times and I have to say it is not bad at all. Of course you are going to stand in line that's a given especially if you go at a busy time but the costumer service here is very good. If you subtract the wait time I think everyone would be pleased with this post office. Mail carrier too lazy to knock on door to deliver package. Instead leaves attempt to deliver notice in mailbox and quickly speeds away. Paid expensive 2 day shipping for these overpaid lazy retards to get it 4 days later. I get neighbors mail constantly and last week my neighbor got my bank statement and was kind enough to deliver it to me. I get packages damaged and opened with missing items frequently.They are not competent to be handling public mail. Government should do away with post USPS and give it to the next bidder that would do a better job that might actually work on Columbus Day, MLK day etc etc ... and won't keep driving up postage prices every time they want to give uneducated workers 6 figure incomes w/ full retirement pensions. read more

Two words "BAD SERVICE". They have one job... Get my mail to my box. They "lose" almost every other package I get sent to my house. Its easy just put the package in the parcel box and leave the key in my box, but they cant do it for some reason. I have been dealing with this post office for years. Growing up i always went in for my mom to pick things up or mail things out. Things used to get taken care of quickly and they had great customer service. The last couple days trying to get a packaged delivered has been a big hassle. When i called to ask why tracking said we were not home and a notice was left, when i was home all day and did not hear a knock, ring of the door bell, or get a notice. I think the guy filling in for our normal mail man went to the wrong house. But when i tried to tell her that, she was a total B**** to me and said no you were not home. Now my package is out for delivery again, im afraid he will not go to the right house again and i will still not get it. Very upset with the office. read more

Not possible to give 0 stars. I live in the Vista Del Lago condo complex here in Lake Elsinore. Our delivery person has zero attention-to-details skills. Repeatedly delivers mail to the wrong box. Complaints to the postmaster get you nothing except more poor service. I cannot recoup my money because this post office lists the item as delivered. And get this: my item was misdelivered while I had a hold on my mail when out of town; but he did deliver my junk mail upon my return. First things first, when you call there is always a busy dial tone. Second their carrier s cannot deliver mail to the correct address if their life depended on it, I have had so many articles of mail and packages either delivered to the wrong address or not delivered at all. The low rating I've given the US Post Office in Lake Elsinore here is solely due to their recent mishandling of my recent request for a vacation hold. I was going to be away for almost three weeks, so I requested that my mail be held during that time. I did not authorize a resumption of delivery until I'd picked up my mail after my return. When I got home I was astounded that they'd completely ignored my request and had delivered my mail to my curbside mailbox anyway! Fortunately, my sisters were checking up on my house while I was gone so one of them saw the mail piling up in the box and brought it in a couple of times. But I have no way of knowing how long it stayed in the box, available to anyone who wanted to search through it or use it as a signal to break in to my home. (BTW, a new debit card was included among my un-held mail.) In the nine years I have lived in this city this is the most alarming breach of my trust in the USPS! I have regularly asked for vacation holds for shorter trips, which seem to have been handled well enough. This longer "hold" should have been honored more responsibly. I wish I could have some assurance that this will not happen ever again. read more

I live in Lake Elsinore. My mail has been delivered every day no later than 12 noon. However, since December the mail does not arrive before 8pm. I understand the mail being late during the holidays. Once again our totally incompetent Postal Service strikes!! For the fourth time in less than two months, they have listed a package as delivered to our house when it was not. Our security system has clear video of their employee placing letter mail in our box, but not delivering our package, which would have had to be placed on the porch due to the size, even though they scanned it as delivered to us at the exact time he was in front of our house. The driver never left his truck while delivering mail to the box infront of our house. The video does not lie, but the USPS apparently does. This is happening far to often to be a fluke! There needs to be a change of management and obviously mail carriers too at the Lake Elsinore post office. You all deserve a no star rating! read more

The guys/ladies working at this post office are great. Very friendly. I use the USPS weekly, as I sell on eBay, and the prices are much better than UPS of Fedex. Due to Covid, I have taken advantage of their pick-up services. It sounds perfect, so that I don't have to stand in line with "unmasked" people. THE PROBLEM - and it's a big one - is that our mail person forgets or refuses to pick up my packages! And this is a regular problem. They sit on my porch all day long, subjected to package theft, only for me to have to bring them back in and reschedule another pick up. When I call the store, they apologize and promise it won't happen again. Well, that's a lie, because it happens most every week. I have to say, our mail person is an idiot, as he/she constantly places our neighbors mail in our box, and visa versa. That most likely explains why he/she doesn't pick up my mail either. The most incompetent post office I've ever had to deal with. They lose mail, put it in the neighbor's mailbox, lose packages, and even after numerous attempts to bring this to their attention, nothing changes. My solution for packages for my business has been to only purchase from vendors who will ship to me via UPS or FedX, who seem to be able to not lose our stuff. The mail carriers out of this post office are horrible. My community has to use a gang box for some reason instead of having our mail delivered to our houses. That makes it VERY convenient for the mail carrier, but much more inconvenient for us to get our mail. They expect us to drive over and pick up our mail every single day. I had a package delivered to a parcel box on a Friday, and it was picked back up by the carrier the next day and taken back to the post office. They refused to redeliver it. I'm going to do everything I can so that I don't have to use the post office anymore - have bills emailed to me instead of mailed, pay bills online, only use UPS and FedEx and specify NOT to hand off to the post office. I don't know what we are getting for our money anymore from the post office. They have no idea what good service means. read more

Clerk 06 (Asian guy) should learn from the staff at the Sun City & Washington, Murrieta POs. Instead of offering suggestions/ recommendations, his reply to me was, "I don't know!! I wasn't there!! " three times when I told him that I once sent a mail to the same address, same weight, same # of days and was charged only a third of what he was charging me. I am not a fan of this post office considering I am a frequent print and ship customer. I scheduled a pick-up and when I checked the status, it said that it was already picked up. I check my front door, and the packages to be picked up were still there! They could have been stolen! What's the point of having the pick-up service, if the mail carrier doesn't even do their job?! I swear, postal workers (mail carriers) are some of the laziest mo-fos employed by the government. You'd think that they actually work for their paycheck, but obviously they don't. They drive around in their sardine-can truck, park in the shade and take naps, but they don't even care to actually deliver mail or any other tasks as part of their job. My UPS driver is so friendly, and I see him regularly. I will no longer be shipping with USPS! Fed-ex and UPS can have all my business, as I ship envelopes and packages frequently. If there was something lower than a "1 star", I would give it. Sure the people who staff the counters are nice enough, but that is not the issue. Their carriers must either not be able to read, or not care about whose box they stick your mail in. After several online complaints, but repeated occurrances, I called and spoke to the mgr. Within the conversation he said that they provide good service. I asked, "have you ever read your YELP or Google reviews to see what people really think?" His reply, "yes, but I don't pay any attention to those," Well, maybe he should. Today, we had another incident. We are a night time business. Even though we put a note on our door asking that our package be delivered to the business next door who has agreed to recieve our packages, we recieved an email from Amazon saying the carrier said noone was there to recieve the package.
