I had a question about their passport services, a real simple one that I could not find the answer to online. I called to this location because that's where the website was telling me to call, no one would answer. The phone rang, and rang, and rang until the system hung up on me. So, I tried the 1-800 number and the only "person" I spoke to was the automated system that does not have an option for customer service or representative or any other word I could think to say, "GIVE ME A PERSON!" So, I called the local office again and allowed it to ring, and ring until, once again, the system hung up on me. But I was determined to get through if only by irritating some one by my constant calling, which worked. I had to call 4 times in a row but it worked. Great service. Chi Le is in the bulk mail office in the back and let me tell you this that she is the best and caring person I have ever seen in the my whole life. She takes the time and make sure I understood everything about mailing and helped me set up my account. Finally(after 50 rings), the line was picked up and they hung up because it was 10 minutes before closing time. My father retired from United States Postal Service (40+ years of service). THE WORST usps ever!! They refused to deliver my package because it is "oversized". What kind of joke is this? Tried to reschedule delivery online, they still don't deliver it. I wish negative numbers were an option. I worked for the USPS for years. My father was a Postmaster. It's not brain surgery. Vacation hold means DO NOT DELIVER. HOLD AT OFFICE. I went to my local Post Office on Tustin Ave to mail a package at the Priority Mail rate. Thuy, the window clerk who waited on me, weighed the package and found that it would cost me over 40 dollars to mail at the regular priority rate. She suggested I mail at the Priority Flat rate and even provided me with the Flat Rate box to repack the contents in. I came in the next day and mailed the package at $18.90, saving me over $21.00. I don't know why this USPS has a bad review. I go to this post office at least once a week for work and all the workers here are super nice and are willing to help. They try to make the customers use the self-service machine as much as possible to make peoples' lives easier. I always end up finishing up my task within 15 minutes and that really is not that bad for a USPS. The one I go to near my house takes over 30 minutes just to pick up my package. So thankful that the USPS near work tries to get their customers out of there ASAP. I know no one wants to stay at a post office over an hour. read more

Not all PO's are created equal. Sure there is always one grumpy clerk, but I've experienced that at stores or markets as well. NBD. There was no line when I came to order mailbox keys. Yay. The clerk helping me was friendly. Yay. BUT...the clerk was a bit slow. Lke she had never done this before..like she was perplexed by her round date stamper..I srsly turned to look at the guy next to me to see if he taking this in as well. BUT, I was in & out in no time. Again, YAY! My issue is with picking up said keys. I have called 3 times. Twice I was put on hold and forgotten about. The 3rd time (now 6 days later) I find my keys still aren't ready. My package was not only not delivered when they said it would be but the driver lied and said he attempted to but couldn't deliver it when I was home the whole time waiting for him. I got an update stating that he left a notice and couldn't deliver it but there was no notice on my door, mail box or anywhere at my house. Update: I went in today to try and pick up my package and they kept passing me off to the next person to deal with me and all but one had a horrible attitude. 2nd closest post office to my house. Only go here because the one closest to my house is not open on the weekend. So the only time i will go to this one is if its a weekend or im in the area. This place is always crowded. Every time i have gone--mainly weekends--there is a line of at least 7 people. The mail clerks seem ok. Pretty much the worst thing to deal with in orange is this post office. From my experience the service at the post office is really hit and miss. Getting my keys was way more of a pain then it should of been. Even the tenants at my apartment warned me about this post office. Apparently word travels fast about this place. My biggest problem is how they deliver the mail. I am consistently getting mail that does not belong in my mailbox or my mail is somehow getting mixed with other peoples mailboxes. They put a check in somebody others mailbox that was addressed to me!!! Thankfully the people that got it were good stand up people and knocked on my door and handed it to me when they got their mail. Very recently I had another package that said on the tracking it was delivered and put in my mailbox. Just checked, nothing there. So once again another package very likely misplaced. Gonna have a lot of fun trying to sort this mess out. I get that working at the post office may not be the greatest but these guys don't even care. I really feel sorry for anyone that had problems like me with this post office and if you had, post a another 1-star review for these guys. Tried to see where a package that I paid extra to be delivered by a very sensitive time frame. USPS said it was delivered gave me a BS tracking number that was utterly useless. The "supervisor" Sergio who was completely inept at listening to my concern and wanted nothing more than to transfer me to a phone number which no one cared to answer. All he did was talk over me and tell me to call the number. Still no package and now sisters wedding is not going to be the same. Can't wait for the day he will be out of a job and the post office will be gone. If they did a better job a customer service maybe they wouldn't be in the hole they are today!! Came here on a Saturday for applying a passport for my baby. Didn't know that they have a different schedule for passport application, not listed on the website. On Saturday, applying a passport is by appointment only. We ended up going to Placentia library to get it done. No appointment needed and staffs were helpful. In and out within 20 minutes (remember to check online and bring all necessary documents). And the library open till 4pm for passport. read more

Redelivery system that for some reason they have time to put in a printed redelivery request confirm paper in our post, but not bring the actual package on the requested date. Just say we are not capable of doing any redelivery because we suck at it and I'll consider forgiving you guys for your mistakes of not doing redelivery constantly. The Post Office on Tustin Ave is a nice clean one. Most of the workers seem friendly. The facility seems big from the outside, but only a small portion of it has been set aside to help customers. The rest of the building is devoted to PO BOXES and the actual processing of mail. I do like the fact that this Post Office has one of the Automated Postal Center machines. These machines weight letters and packages for you. After their weighed, you can then buy the exact postage label for it via a credit or debit card. You can also buy the electronic looking sticker stamps, but they are not the traditional stamps with images on them. They also offer Passport Application services. I would call in advance to make sure that an employee is there for that service. A really big negative, which could be said about any Post Office, is how crowded this place gets along with how inundated their parking lot becomes during business hours. I once had to park across the street to avoid the traffic. This is the central processing Post Office in the city of Orange, so I shouldn't be complaining too much about a 40-year-old building (built in 1971) and how busy it gets. Will this place be expanded to accommodate more customers in the near future? I would say probably not. At least the karaoke bar, which was next door, went out of business. Customer would use the Post Office parking lot as overflow at night. Overall this is your average US Post Office. read more

Got the worst counter servant ever! As I'm speaking to him I could see he had other things going on in his pea brain. I had to ask him if he was listening to me. Finally got a feeble attempt of a response. Didn't know I had to bring my own tape (haven't been there in a while). He said they didn't have tape and I was required to purchase tape from them. Well he lied because while I was waiting in line I saw another worker taping a package for customer. He needs to work on his lying skills and do a better job at it. It was a Saturday and the lines were long and slow. A few counter servants were working which doesn't help the cause. They should be fully staffed on a Saturday. After all, we the customer, are paying for it and should get our $$ worth since we are getting gouged in the wallet. I have absolutely nothing positive to say about the USPS. I hope people know that sadly your tax dollars will be paying for the retirement of these people. FedEx and UPS will start getting my business. read more

Had the most horrible female mail carrier experience on 1/23 at 2:30 in the afternoon, East Quincy Avenue in the city of Orange. She was a fill in, hispanic or white with long brown hair, fairly thin and EXTREMELY RUDE AND ANGRY. I have been trying to report her for two days. There is NO ANSWER at the Tustin Avenue phone number even after several attempts and over an hour wait on the customer service line at each of 5 attempts. HORRIFIC I will have to go in person to speak to the PostMaster to give a full report on her. This woman is a discredit to her profession and to her gender. A horrible human. read more

Frankly, I don't ever know why the post office gets such a bad rap. Its the post office. Its going to be crowded during peak hours. Prepare for it. Use the automated machines ahead of time if you can. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Since moving to Orange in September of 2013, I have had at least 8 packages and 1 $1,000 check lost or not delivered to my house by this post office. I was directly lied to by our mail carrier [telling me that because the entrance to my house is on the back-side of the house, packages wouldn't be delivered to me, and instead would be delivered to my neighbor downstairs who I have no relationship with] who has to drive right next to the entrance to my house to reach other mail boxes on the street. Calling the post office every day for a week, I was somehow always unable to get a hold of a supervisor. Going into the post office and finally talking to a supervisor I was told my problem would be addressed and I would have a call soon [which apparently means 2 weeks later]. I finally managed to get the line for the post master of Orange County, and after that had 2 packages successfully delivered. Today, again, packages were supposedly attempted to be delivered at 6:45PM, even though our mail arrives at 11AM, and there's no delivery slip in the mail box or on our door, and if it wasn't for Amazon's free package tracking, I would have no idea what was going on with my items. Super excited for more fruitless phone calls with their non-existent supervisors tomorrow morning. read more

With the exception of one guy that has always worked there because I remember his face when I used to come with my mom but everyone else is rude they have an attitude. Last time I was there I asked one of the workers if I can borrow a pen since I needed it to write the return address on my packaging and I was about to sit she yelled and told me "hey you can't steal my pen" lady please it's a damn $1 pen why would I even steal a pen from you?! I should have just thrown her pen and walked out but unlike her I have manners and replied back to her that I wasn't going to steal her pen and was only going to have a seat on the bench to finish my packaging . I have mixed feelings about reviewing a post office. I mean they encounter a ton of people everyday which is draining. And let's face it when was the last time you were fantastically nice to your post office employee? Ya not too often huh! I had to pick up a package from this location and foolishly I waited till Saturday to do so. Let me tell you this line was huge! I felt defeated when I came across this line. Like here Saturday I give up you win! I'll spend my whole afternoon here. The line moved at a decent speed. I wouldn't say fast nor would I say snail pace. When getting closer to the front of the line I could over hear some transactions with employees and customers. Some not so inviting and others just down right rude. But like I said I don't go to the post office to get amazing customer service. There is a reason there is a saying "going postal". When it was my turn I ended up with the lady who seemed like she didn't enjoy life very much. When I gave her my slip and she seemed annoyed. Then she asked for my ID. Now to let you all know my government issued photo ID is horrible. For some reason the lady yelled at me to stop smiling when I took the picture then zoomed in on my face. Now my face takes up 98% of the picture box and it looks like a mugshot. Anyhow, she looks at my ID blurts "wow, they really zoomed in on your face!". Of course I had to reply and told her what happened. After about 3 mins of chit chat she really showed a different side to her. She was laughing and we were joking (all of this probably made everyone else mad because the line wasn't moving but hey this is all about my experience :) ). So then she left to get my package with a SMILE and came back and we exchanged a few More sentences and I was done. That little break in the clouds with her totally turned my experience around. It just goes to show that no matter what happens there is always time to turn things around. Leave on a good note right! ' I can't say "I won't ever come back here" or "this is my new favorite place" because it is still just a post office. I really don't have to much choice in the matter.
