What a great office! I came in and it was quiet on a Friday afternoon. I got all my stuff done promptly. The ladies behind the desk were super nice and seemed happy. Parking was not an issue. This is a small office and you have to go round the PO boxes to find it but the laughter and chatter led me right there. It was clean and the supplies looked well stocked. Like most posters, the staff is rude and not helpful. I didn't really experience it until I was dropping off a prepaid package and asked for a receipt. Myong simply told me to drop it off outside and said to take a picture of the label. I said that she had given me one a couple of days ago and her response was that they're saving paper and that they only give receipt if you buy postage from them. I started to make a ruckus and the three or four people walking around just simply ignored me and didn't even bother to help. Being a Pleasanton local, there is often a need to go to the post office in order to send packages, buy stamps, etc. I've always found the Hacienda location much better than the Main Office location. There's less problems with traffic and parking and the line gets long but the clerks do their best to keep the line moving. The past week I went to buy stamps for my friend's handmade postcards. They weren't the usual postcard size and paper used so I was worried that the cards would be rejected and the post office would be unable to send them out. Chris was extremely friendly in helping us find a solution. He was attentive to needs and even checked up on us to see if we had any issues. He was very professional in informing us on the possible options. I'm glad that I was able to send out those custom drawn postcards and I have to thank the workers at USPS for that. read more

Post Offices are a little like DMV's. They're always busy with long lines. My friend needed to mail a few packages. I thought this place was closed because it looked empty. So was the parking lot. We walked in and she was helped by an elderly lady who was very nice. I don't remember her name. The staff here were very nice and helpful. You don't really get this kind of service at other USPS. Incompetent or intentional? Not sure, but postal clerk at this location misled me to pay 10X in postage. I paid close to $40 to send 10 pages of documents to Canada. Do your research FIRST and know your options on USPS.com because the clerk (Southeast Asian lady) will set up you for the highest expense. I need to send 10 pages of documents to Canada and not in a rush. It's $3 first class but she immediately wanted me to do priority, I asked how much, she mumbled "...9", I said "Oh, 9 dollars, I'll do it". She did not correct me only after I filled out custom form and ready to pay, it's $37.10. At that point I didn't want to fight and paid. I later found out there is flat rate box that's only $28.50 can hold my 10 pages easily, she never mentioned this option (she should clearly know this). Also I can pay international package with free tracking for $14, she also never mentioned that. You pay for ignorance, but I wish she at least mentioned these options. Calculate your postage BEFORE SHOW UP or don't count on these clerks will offer the best shipping options. read more

Post office always sucks. This one just sucks a little less. It was walking distance to my office... so very good location. They had a drive-by mail slot too which made it easy to drop-off mail. I tried to always use the self-service machine in the lobby when I could. read more

Very small, but nice people and it's much less crowded than other nearby locations. There are three registers, there were three people working, which is rare at the post office. At other offices, usually there's five registers and one person working. Big parking lot. I wish it were open Saturdays! read more

This post office is fine. I frequently drop off packages here with prepaid labels. The staff inside (older gentleman with a mustache + all the ladies) are friendly. All my packages have arrived that I've mailed from this location. Occasionally I use the mailing machine outside, and it works fine as well. read more

Lily was so incredibly rude to me and had an attitude with me the entire time and she made me redo my packages THREE times because she wasn't specific about what she wanted the other times!!! The old lady in the counter was so rude. Did not provide proper information, accent was so bad that I could hardly understand. When i asked her ab the prices for delivering a box, she did not reply anything, but stuck a 33$ bill on the box without interacting first. Very poor service. read more

Totally agreed and experienced the rudeness from these ladies who worked here. Despite the long wait, 3 ladies served with the same attitude as if they don't care. They don't care if you have to wait, they don't explain the unlabeled drop off boxes outside, and they will definitely not explain to you about the various shipping methods. They will simply said, "I have another person in line." I love that this post office has drive-up mailboxes to drop your mail in so you don't even have to get out of your car. It would be really rad if they had drive-through service, but alas, no. The inside is like any other post office ... helpful, but slow if there is a line (but sometimes there isn't). One of the cashiers need to learn that there is a reason for people not signing their credit cards, so that the sales person checks the ID to confirm the person who is making the purchase is the card holder. Well whoever this lady was she checked my ID then wouldn't let me pay unless I signed the card or used a debit card. Wtf?! This is literally common sense, why would I sign my card if I want you to check the ID when someone including myself uses it? read more

If you will be short staffed like every USPS location you have to have very fast working people!

I come here at least once a week and almost every time, I bring 10-12 pieces of certified mail. Sometimes, it can be up to 40. Both Chris and Gina are patient and courteous with my mailings and never have they complained. With my weekly visits, I can affirmatively attest that the employees here are professional and efficient. Keep up the good work guys! read more

Never go back to this post office again, the gentleman inside the counter is very rude, unprofessional, incompetent that he helped pushing out customers to other stations, so that it largely increased operating cost of this facility, and, by sending over more clients to other locations, this created more workload for post offices in nearby cities. read more

Just a positive comment, the package kiosk container jammed when I tried to load my package. Since the Post Office was closed, I called USPS customer service (did have to wait awhile) explained problem so that others might not be inconvenienced. Was pleasantly surprised when I received a call from local rep about two hours later, saying they received a note and were following up. Not to worry about the package. Nice. read more

I do not seem to have much luck coming here when it is actually open and/or doesn't have a long line. It does have an APC, which is nice, but they seem to be constantly running out of the flat rate boxes. read more

I was in the area last week and needed to mail a letter that day. I stopped in at Hacienda around 4 pm and Chris was my clerk. I must say, my experience with him was very positive. Yes, the line was long, but it gave me a chance to watch him interact with other customers. After reading some negative reviews, I gotta disagree with the others who slammed him. He was patient with this Asian guy who could hardly speak English. He calmly explained to him how to insure a package, and even walked around the counter to help him bundle his mail. Cool! Now that's customer service. Then there was a lady who came back from vacation and lost her box key. he was understanding and helped her fill out a form. I was impressed with how he took care of her. When my turn came, he was friendly and even smiled as I asked to buy some stamp books. I guess it's true...we all have our good and bad days, but if I were to compare Chris to some of the other clerks I've had at Dublin and Pleasanton Main, I give him good marks for his kindness and how efficient he kept the line moving. Just received my mail from February and March (over 5 month to deliver mail that in some cases was mailed from 5 blocks away from the courthouse). It included some but not close to all of my legal documents and credit card bills, the rest vanishing into some garbage can or sold to identity thieves These people have now cost me many hundreds of dollars. I am presently filling out a "stolen mail" report to send to the USPS criminal division. Many of the problems with this location and staff are documented criminal cases. There are no on site managers nor supervisors. If you have any complain you are required to report it to the Pleasanton main location supervisor/manager on Black Avenue where you will be told to Foff. read more

RUDE. SHADY! Went to mail a package yesterday, no problems. The weight was more but the box was smaller. No problems...then today, based on the length (2 " longer) price went up by $7. Fine, no problem...then my box needed 1 piece of tape to fully close seal the box (just like yesterday). The RUDE lady, middle window, gave me my box back and said come back when it's closed all the way!?? I said you have tape right there. She hands me the tape and says "you'll have to shut it all the way and get back in line, i have customers "...I was a customer too. My package wasnt closed all the way, okayyy? If you go to FedEx or other places, it's a one stop shop!! Putting a piece of tape will take 30 seconds!? I got the tape, added to my package and waited another 5 minutes in line...got called to the 3rd window on right (the lady I had yesterday). All of a sudden the price went up $1.50!? I said on the other scale it was $1.50 cheaper. She said, did you add to it? I said 1 piece of tape!? She said, "are you going to mail it or not?" Nope! Give me my box and you'll never see me again. This location employs the most obnoxious clerks. Chris turned a customer away today after his coworker Jin asked her to fill out her customs form while she stood in line. She arrived before 5:00 PM. The woman said she would never come back to this location. Then Chris had an argument with a customer who gave him feedback about letting customers they are closed. He shut the door in her face and locked it when she asked for his name so she could file a complaint about his nasty demeanor. OMG, he kept ranting and raving in my presence . Hello...complaining about a customer in front of another customer is very unprofessional. Locking the door with no one standing by while customers remain inside is a public safety issue. On other occasions Gina pretended to scan my prepaid packages. Another time she looked at me with a blank stare after I requested she scan my prepaid packages & refused to give me a paper receipt when I requested it. Unfortunately this is the most convenient USPS location for me to stop by. Although they're open till 5 PM arrive by 4:30 PM if you have an international package and you don't want to get harassed or kicked out because the most if the clerks here are nasty & mean. read more

Awful rude older Chinese lady. Night before last after 6 pm, I drove to the PO for stamps, used the self serve machine. Well it took my credit card and charged it but no stamps! I looked for a phone number to call for reimbursement but no signage with instructions anywhere. Tried knocking on the door but they were closed.,nobody answered. Was not able to take time off work to deal with this yesterday, so today made a point to get off early so I could catch them before closing. I waited in line. Then when it was my turn I presented my receipt and said your machine didn't provide the stamps. She raised her voice loudly and says "That was 2 days ago!", I said so what? She said well I can look to see if we have extra stamps lying around. I said, well you need to do something you can't charge people for stamps and not deliver the stamps. Whats your protocol when your machine malfunctions? She says well if nobody reports extra stamp where my proof. I said look, there must be a form or some way of reporting the machine malfunctioned. She shakes her head and makes hand gestures like I'm being unreasonable. Walks off. I hear her ask someone in the back and she comes out with a form I need to fill out. Ok fine. Then she asks if my Maltese who has been quietly in my arms the whole time is a service dog? No. She tells me to leave him in the car. Ok lady you can be as nasty as you want to me but I'm going to leave here today with the stamps I paid for. She finally coughed up the $4.70 sheet. All I could think of is the old saying "adding insult to injury". First you rip me off. I have the inconvenience of having to come back during your work hours to remedy it. And you're rude to me? I hope she gets fired. A really nice lady in line asked me in the parking lot if I finally got my stamps. I said yeah I got them, $4.70 cents. Might not be worth the aggravation but its the principle. She never apologized for my inconvenience. I hope others keep complaining minimally she needs a course in customer service. read more
