Online it says passports are walk-in on Saturday which isn't really true... when I think of walk in I think I can literally walk in and get it, maybe stand in line if others are their prior to me but no you walk in and you have to put yourself on a list for an appointment, that's if they have anymore openings that day...Thankfully they did, they had one more opening so I made the appointment and had to come back 3 hours later it was a little inconvenient since I live 40 minutes away but whatever. They were very friendly which was nice. The lady that assisted my children made sure we didn't have any questions or concerns before we left. She was very nice and interactive with the kids as they were getting a little antsy. read more

It's a post office. So, check online and make appointments as needed first. The self service machine is great. Sometimes the line is into the next room, so give yourself plenty of time. However, unless you are a weekly visitor, it isn't a big deal. I've never had any issues with the staff at all. All kind and knowledgeable. Lots of (unnecessary) complaints here. Not sure why this place has such poor reviews. I use them for package pickup service and am happy with that. On high ticket items I drop them off in person and get a receipt. Sometimes the line is long but no big deal. Had an issue with a missing parcel delivered to the wrong address and they tracked it down. read more

Made an appointment for a passport (renewal) for minors. These idiots here will have you stand for a good 15 minutes beyond my scheduled time, even though they knew I had an appointment and the time. Then they tell me they cannot help me! Irritated I called them out on the lack of attentiveness for scheduled appointments. All I get is a sorry. What a joke! I spend my winters in Sun City and frequently have to go to the post office. I have been to other post offices in the area but this one is the best. I like this post office because it is rarely busy, my wait time is less than five minutes, and the employees seem knowledgeable, friendly and service oriented. Today when I went in, three clerks were at the windows (even though there were only three people in line) and all of them were polite, friendly and helpful. My clerk was Lex. She was friendly and professional. I was in and out in under five minutes today. The only reason I did not get give this a five star review is because the facility inside looks tired and in need of some custodial TLC. read more

As a retired USPS letter carrier, I was disappointed today after leaving an important letter out for pickup and found out at 5pm it was not picked up-- we are just part time residents of Sun City so do not get mail every day-- still the outgoing letter was displayed very prominently and only a few steps from where the postal vehicle stops. Guess the carriers here subscribe to the rule that if you don't have any incoming mail, there is no pickup of outgoing mail, even if readily seen from the vehicle. As a 35 year carrier I always made it a point to check for any outgoing mail regardless of whether there was any incoming mail. Carriers of today are under a lot more pressure time wise than when I was working over 15 years ago-- still customer service should be the most important factor in this job. Still giving at least 3 stars as I know what these folks have to deal with day to day! 5 minutes after Well as luck would have it my wife just came in and said she had just handed my letter to our Sun City carrier who was running extra late today! Thanks for restoring my faith in the employees of my former employer in this city. Changing my rating to 5 stars and adding a big THANK YOU too to these under appreciated long hours working folks. Went to get a passport this morning, after reading other's reviews I decided to get there early, so 4am it was...I was first in line . About 6:20, a very nice lady came out and started taking names and there were about 40 of us in line by then. She was able to quickly get everyone on the list and given return times. She then started helping me. She was patient and informative. I was done by 6:40am and able to go home and get some sleep . Moral of the story...if you are going on a Saturday for the passport standby times, the early bird gets the passport... read more

My wife and I had an appointment for our passports. I knocked it down a star because their camera for pictures wasn't working so threw us off because we had to go ro the nearest fed ex office to get our picture taken, which made us waste some time as the people that were there before us had to do same thing. So I knocked it another star because of the time that we had to wait for our turn. The service was fast once we got in. Customer service was good. The person that helped us was great and efficient. She said that the camera hasn't been working for some time. C'mon USPS your a federal company, there is no excuse for equipment to not be working. Unbelievably awful. No matter how patient, how kind, how complimentary you are you to these employees, they still act like total jerks. I don't get it. The person handling the package drop during the day has an anger issue, you can hear her complaining about packages being dropped on a daily. More than half the time, it's full and there is no place to drop your packages, you're forced to stand in line and then the counter agent directs you to out them on some side counter that anyone, like the public, can come and take them off of. It's nerve-wracking AF wondering if your packages will make it through this post office. read more

One star as zero is impossible. Desk workers with attitude and when I asked to speak with a manager....well, 10 minute wait and same attitude. Of some in the post office decides not to deliver mail--to your house--with no paperwork asking you to cease delivery....well, there should be an explaination. DO NOT go here during their "walk-in" hours thinking you'll be serviced. I checked their website and called a few days before going in on a Saturday for the walk-in services, and was told I could come in from 9:30-12:30. I arrived around 9:10am just to be told that they are not servicing any passport walk-ins for the day because there were other customers waiting in line since 1am and they only serve a max of 50 passport walk-ins for the day. What is the point of stating that the hours are from 09:30-12:30 if you are already declining service before even opening?! On top of that they tell you to set up an appointment but appointments can't be set up more than 4 weeks in advance. Then EVERY SINGLE USPS in the Phoenix area is completely booked up for the next 4 weeks and they are not helpful at all when you ask about future appointments opening up. read more

I love the convenience of being able to walk here, when visiting my mum. Only 1.5 miles (when it isn't 100+ of course) & usually I go around sun set. I utilize the self service kiosk. I shipped a package to my aunt for her a special little someones 7th birthday. (The age when it is still fun to get mail, since it isn't bills) My 2 yr old and my 50# pit came with me for the walk...other perk to after hours. ..is puppy can come in and enjoy the air conditioning. I paid for 7 day with tracking. It does Piss me off that the dang USPS wants to nickel and dime you. What the heck, you want me to pay extra for tracking, delivery confirmation, insurance etc.... No other industry gets away with that. (Not the local workers faults tho) I emailed my aunt about 5 days later, she didn't get it. It was delivered to some Po - dunk town in Kansas not Michigan. Whaaaaat. I call the 800# and ZERO help from them. Since I didn't purchase the insurance. What the heck. Your people delivered it to the wrong address. I have very legible handwriting & it made me type in the address to the kiosk. ..so no way it was labeled wrong. I went into this location next day, woman at counter was super nice and verified in their computer it showed it indeed was to be delivered to Michigan. Her "manager" wasn't ultra excited to help. He did verify it should have been sent to my aunt no Po - dunk Kansas. Took my name/number and said he would research it for me and promised to call me next day. Would give me print out of it's wonky trail from Sun City to Kansas. Said it was internal only. Hmmm Never called me with any information/update. I spent another full day contacting numerous numbers, & finally was told it was rerouted and arriving in Michigan. Still never heard from "Don" ...He is why no 5 stars. read more

They have guests come from the day before and the day of at 4AM have them put their name on a list of only 12! Once that list is full they no longer take walk ins a JOKE! The employees who work in the back of this post office are horrible. It's no wonder violence was so prevalent in years past. The immaturity level of the employees is unbelievable. i ship boxes every single day for my small business via USPS. On more than one occasion, at the Sun City location, when dropping off labeled boxes, I have had the service door slammed on me by a woman in the back because it was 4:45pm, had things yelled at me from the other side of a closed door ('Can't you get here earlier!?', 'I'm DONE for Today!'). My packages often do not get scanned until one or two days after being dropped off. Whomever is running this facility needs to take a hard look at their unhappy employees, the inappropriate way they treat people and fix it. read more

Three damaged packages in 2 weeks. This post office uses your packages as a football. Claims denied because I did not have the original packaging. The buyer across country has it and it would be stupid send back the broken item and spend more money. Very arrogant at best. I seen them throwing packages in the back. It was 10 minutes out of my way but the usual post office I went to had a full parcel drop off. Got here and while they have two letter boxes hey have no after hours parcel drop off. I would give a zero if I could. This is the second time in 4 months the postal worker updated the status on a package to delivered but never delivered it. I've even had and additional 3 packages stolen in the past couple years. I'm so sick of them stealing packages. When I contacted them they said it's not their problem. I'm giving it one star 'cause I can't give ZERO. Some incompetent lady at the passport office scheduled an appointment for me. The supervisor DON RAMEIRO comes out to me after 40 days of waiting saying that there is no appointment scheduled. And guess what - myself, my wife and my son we all took days off to be present there, according to the regulations. They don't provide a confirmation for the appointment and afterwards have the guts to say that I did not make that appointment. If you make an appointment at this PO ask for a confirmation or tape the conversation. What a bunch on INCOMPETENTS!! For these people customer service is fairy tales. When I made it to the correct location I was 10 minutes late they had they nerve to give me a hard time after they game me the wrong location. The Sheriff Deputy was doing a vacant summer house inspection and noticed the package and that it was addressed tome on a different street. He said if he had not seen it it would have stayed until September.. today I get 6 pieces of mail addressed to someone else and with a different address than mine. . What is going on? I drove twice the time in the opposite direction from the SC west PO location today (because they are terrible) and I was thinking as I was driving holy cow this is twice as long just to get here - but I walked in with 3 people ahead of me in line - and I was the next person with in 60 seconds, in and out within 2 minutes with a "here you go your all set, have a nice day!" Granted - no snowbirds this time of year - being new to the area I was coming to this post office before I found the sun city west location and it gets crowded in the fall and winter (what PO doesn't that time of year?!) But with my small business I frequent post offices everywhere I go - and this one has always moved fast when I go in and they have always been very accommodating and helpful.....
