Willow Glen Post Office Sucks! Noone answers phone there. Phone just rings and rings! Then when employee, Christine answers, she sounds irritated and rude! I asked to speak to Supervisor- Jesse that I've been trying to get hold of and rude person puts me on hold for 35 min. still waiting for Jesse to get on phone. Been on hold for total of 1 hour with the phone ringing & ringing until someone answers then being on hold now. Still an awful place. They lost my package both me and the merchant have made claims. It was $200 of merchandise which they simply fail to own up to their mistakes. The manager hung up on me when I've made 3 claims online already. They refuse to refund me. He acknowledged the package was lost and when I said his worker was incompetent as they have been misdeliverling my packages for weeks. He told me he didn't have to talk to me and hung up. Thursday Review - They open at 10a and I got there at 8:15a. I was 16th in line. My number was called 1 1/2 hour after they opened. Have your form filled out, photo taken prior, copies of both drivers license and the state issued birth certificate. HOSPITAL ISSUED CERTIFICATES WILL NOT WORK! I was done at the counter in two minutes. You pay at the next clerk over, which is about a ten min wait if anyone is ahead of you. The woman working the counter is extremely kind and will answer any questions you have! Do not get here right when they open, you will likely be turned away or have to be put on the waiting list! Try and get to the office an hour and a half or two before they open... you'll be helped before they close for lunch (1:15p). There is a wait list for people who hadn't gotten a number but it's not guaranteed that you'll be seen that day. read more

My wife and I took time off of work to bring our baby to the passport office for their passport application. We arrived at 3:45pm and the passport Office doors were locked already, even though their signage (physical and online) lists them as open until 4 PM. We could see inside there was an official helping one couple with their passport application, but he would not acknowledge us even after we knocked on the door. When the couple left the office (here's the crazy part) the passport official asked them to prevent us from entering the building and we got into a tug of war match with the door handle. This passport office location showed incredible disrespect to us and was unwilling to accommodate our application (we only needed him to confirm our relationship with our baby). Such bullshit. So both times I have been here at 4:00 and the first huge window to the "left where you would pick up mail when transferring mail boxes" is closed when it clearly says 5:30. Then I go through the doors on my right. Wait in line to talk to some rude girl. Maybe mid 20s. Caucasian, frizzy pony tail and glasses. I have asked previously on phone what I need to turn in my old mail key and pick up my new once since I changed units in my apartment. They just said keys and ID. So I go with my keys and ID. They then tell me I need my new lease. I'm pissed because my appfoilo app with my new agreement isn't updated. I had to sit in my phone and make phone calls to o FINALLY get ahold of a resident manager. She tries to update it again but it is Gonna take a bit. Soo then she screen shots it for me and texts it. I go back to a different lady. She was nicer. But then i was Told I need to pay for my new key. Then wait 3-5 days because the mail man will assign a new mailbox. So I said well mail has been piling up since I'm on the informed deliver I get notified. So I wanted to pick up the mail that was here. She said the window outside the doors is where to go but they are closed. I proceeded to tell her that i got off work early just to do this and I got here an hour and a half before closing. She said she was Gonna get it. Then she said "we had no mail". That's BULL! She then says " it's probably in your mailbox." I told her I checked my old mailbox before I came and I got nothing. She said "your new one". I said "i thought I need to wait 3-5 days because the mailman hasn't givin us a new mailbox yet. This place sucks Everytime I come. I had to renew my 17 year old son's passport, as we need to go home to England to visit an ailing relative. We arrived around 6 am and there were already people in front of us. By 9.00 am, a very courteous young man handed out tickets, and opened the doors. We waited about twenty minutes, and were called to the counter. The gentleman, I believe his name is Kenu, could not have been more helpful, polite, or efficient. Fortunately, we had already filled out the application on line and had a print out, as well as all of the required documents to hand. We were out of there by 9.40 am. I would highly recommend using this service, but do get there super early, and have your ducks in a row, or you will have a very long wait. read more

Waited in line at 4am on Saturday march 11, 2017. We were about the 41st applicant in line. I needed a passport for a trip leaving on march 31st. They had signs inside that give you a good idea on when you'll get the passport. The sign said "expedited passport by march 30th" then it continues to say, "timeframe not guaranteed". Lol. I was like great. But I decided to submit it anyway and just hope for the best. I paid for expedited service plus overnight shipping. The passport was for my son. Today is Saturday March 18, 2017- I got the passport. I never want to experience this again, I will definitely plan ahead next time. But for those that need a passport fast, this is a great option. I read ALL the reviews prior to going here. I suggest you do the same. I felt very prepared and there were no surprises. If you decide to go on a Saturday, The earlier you arrive the better chances you have to be served. Also, I heard that on Saturday, they only serve about 40-50 applicants. So I think we got lucky because they decided to serve about 50 applicants on the Saturday I went. If you go, count how many applicants are ahead of you. In the early mornings, all you see is one person waiting in line but later, their families will join them closer to opening time. I honestly don't know how they determine how many apps they take in a day. It would be nice if there was a sign posted the night prior so people can make the judgment to standing in line. Because once they hand out all the tokens, anyone that did not get a token will be asked to leave and try again another day. So if you're like the 80th applicant in line, you might as well go home and don't even bother. You're probably not going to get served. Especially on a Saturday. 4 stars because the process was quick and organized. Standing in line sucked but oh well. I'm happy that I got the passport back as quickly as I did. When we travel, we do the online request to hold mail. On a recent trip we arrived home and all our mail had been accumulating in our mailbox. This isn't the first time this happened. The last time we did a hold request, it took several days after our end date before we got our mail. Sometimes they get it right, but sometimes they don't. When I get the opportunity, I also mention it to our mailman, but the carriers have been changing, so I have no idea who was delivering our mail while we were gone. Mail hold is a simple, but important request. Sure wish they could manage this better. read more

I will say like others here have, get here EARLY! I got here at 4am on Saturday 9-3-16 and I was first in line, two other people came at 4:45am and then more started coming. By the time they opened at 9:55 am there was approximately 80 people in line. When they open the door and hand out tickets, they ask each person in line how many applications are you processing, because it is one ticket per application, no acceptions made. Many of the people in line early including myself were standing for other family members as well, for example I needed three tickets (wife, daughter and me). I felt so bad for a lot of the people because when they opened the door, the lady said they will only be helping 25 applicants today since they were short staffed, once all the tickets are gone they close the door. There were at least 50 people that were very upset because they waited there for many hours and were turned away. We came prepared at least we thought so, we had printed applications online, had passport photos and checks ready. When they lady helped us she said we had to re-do all paperwork, apparently our printer or their online forms did not have the barcode on the bottom of the form. If your printed paperwork does not have a barcode on the bottom left or right corner then your paperwork will be void. Thankfully the lady helped us and made sure all new hand written forms were done correctly. One thing to note, there are no restrooms, when they open they tell people that ask for a restroom to go use Starbucks bathroom (right around the corner). Pricing was as follows for us, they accept check or debit card as far as I know. My renewal with passport book and passport ID card = $140 Wife renewal with passport book and passport ID card = $140 Daughter first time passport book and passport ID card = $90 Post Office fees for processing = $75 I hope this info is helpful to others. read more

We arrived at nine Sunday morning which is when the passport services are open. At 230 PM they say they start closing, even though your office hours say you close at 3! There were only four applicants in front us and they closed the doors 230. They close at that time to cash out in time at three. Next time, us applicants need to get there earlier. If you employees say you close at 230, then make your hours say to 230. If not, commit to keeping doors open to three! The clerical lady was also being petty and bossy with her demands, "stay behind this rug until you are called for help or I won't help anyone". You didn't even help us out! Any government agency has never done nor will ever do anything efficient. ***As an update, we went to the office on a workday and these people were more polite and efficient. Way better folks! So come early since 40+ lined up before 10am. Complete all your shit to help them go faster. Four stars now read more

Review for Saturday walk-in to get a passport for newborn, on Sept, 24, 2016 So, after reading all the recent reviews on yelp, I decided to do walk-in this location to get passport for our 1-month old baby. And as everybody was saying get there early, I was there by early, very early, by 3:30 AM. I couldn't see a soul. Luckily, there is 24-hour yum-yum donut shop down the road, I just went there and killed time for a while and came back at 4:30 AM. There was one person waiting by then, and till 8:00 AM, it is hardly 10 people in the queue. All the other reviews about "be there very early, even a night before" , are exaggerating. It may be for summer time, where lot of people apply for passports, but not when schools are running, i.e. in September? When it's not summer, get there by 6AM even on a Saturday, that should be enough. Anyway, they opened the gates exactly at 10 AM, again, there is no opening early, giving out the tokens etc, etc, as indicated by other yelp reviews. They calmly opened at 10 AM, and asked people to just grab the token in order, and straight away they started serving tokens. If you've all your documents ready, your token will be serviced within 5 minutes. Please make sure, you carry checkbook (for Dept. of State) . They'd take VISA card or cash for Post office payment though. If you're applying for a new-born passport, and one of the parents have to show their foreign passport for identification, please make sure you bring the photocopy of visa page in your passport as well. There are no restroom facilities available, you've to go to nearest Starbucks. TIPS: - It's a better idea to call on Friday to see, when they're going to start serving tokens on Saturday etc etc. - Please bring a folding chair and blanket, because it's going to be a minimum 2-hour wait. - Go easy on water bottles and coffee mugs, your bladder will be strained, as there are no - restroom facilities nearby and nearest Starbucks opens at 5:30 AM on Saturday. - If you're not visiting this office in summer season, take the reviews which hint that you've to be there by 2, 3, 4 AM with a pinch of salt, you can get a token by being there at 6-7 AM on Saturday as well, if it's off season. Update: Got passport delivered in one week, opted for expedited service ($60 more) and over-night express delivery($20 more). read more

Not only did they fail to redeliver, but they initiated a return to sender without acknowledging, responding to, or processing my completed redelivery slip or my two redelivery requests submitted online. This passport acceptance facility (key words: acceptance facility) is located in the same building as the USPS Willow Glenn Station. The entrance is on the south side of the buiding along Gaton Drive. Hours are M-F from 9:00am - 3:00pm and Saturday 9:00am - 12:00noon. When you go in, take a number like at the deli or Costco Optical. Forms are in a rack near the door, grab the ones you need or fill them out online at the State Department website and bring them with you ( http://travel.state.gov/ ). If your passport is lost or stolen and not yet expired, you need to fill out the Lost/Stolen form along with the application for passport. The people here are reasonably well organized and helpful. They reviewed my forms & told me because my trip was in 4 weeks, I would need to make an appointment with one of the 13 Passport Agencys - the closest being in SF, LA, or Seattle. They did help me out in that they reviewed my forms and documents to make sure everything was complete & correctly filled out, and they took my photos ($15, done thru a partnership with FedEx Kinkos). All they can do for you here is review & accept your forms & photos, then submit them for processing. They do not issue passports, they just accept & submit forms. They have little more information than you can find on the State Department website. I asked & they don't even have a direct phone number they can use themselves to call the State Department - they use the same number that is given out to us, the General Public. read more

Ok passport services. Let's have the honest conversation. If you are looking up this post office then you did not plan ahead and you have already figured out that it is one of the only "walk in" facilities and every other post office, city hall and clerk recorders office in a 50 mile radius has a 2 month waiting time for an appointment. I know. ..I know... You have also called the San Francisco passport agency and been told that you can only make an appointment there if you are traveling within 2 weeks. So listen to me carefully and do what I say I have done the research and now I am going to make your life easier. What does "walk in" mean? It does not mean showup and you can process your applications. It means you get there early,get a number and then get called according to your number. Ie. your number is 8, you will be seen in approx 2 hours. They open at 10am so I can get there at 9 right? NO... this would be a mistake and you won't be getting your passport :) The staff is incredibly helpful and patient, but remember their job is to ensure you have everything prepared correctly. Help them help you. Bring your ID A photocopy of the front and back of your ID Your old passport (if you have one) Your certified birth certificate Your passport photo Your completed DS11 application For a minor - both parents or the appropriate documentation. Checkbook Here was my experience exactly: Thursday in April (and it was raining) 5:08am - we arrived at the Willow Glen passport office. We were 9th in line. Bring a chair. The first person arrived at 3am. (No joke) By 6:15am there were 20 people in line. (Keep in mind that 20 people actually equates to more. People stand in line and have their families meet them later.) By 7:15am the line was around the corner. By 7:55am a lady opened the door and started handing out tickets. One ticket per person applying. Then they let everyone into the room. By 8:30am they posted a note on the door that said there would be no more applications taken that day. Then they lock the door. Keep in mind that the office doors states they open at 10am. As a courtesy they started processing early. 8:35am we get called up to have all of our documents checked and to ensure we have everything. If you are applying for minors they need to be there at this point. Then we sat back down to wait. By 9:10am we got called up to get our documents processed. By now people who didn't yelp are lining up outside trying to figure out why they won't be able to get their application done. The office then starts a waiting list. This basically means if they get through all the tickets that day they will start talking more apps off the list after 2pm. We were out of the office by 9:25am. If you need a passport in the next month or two, & it's your 1st passport, you need to go into an office. If you haven't made an appointment ahead of time, I'd say this place is your best bet. They take walk-ins, but you have to get there early & wait in line. Since most people work during the week, the weekends can get hectic. This review was for a Saturday appointment. I was nice and waited in line so my friend could get a passport: 1. Got there a little after 7a. This is pushing it. I would aim for 6a or earlier. I heard multiple times that I was lucky it was a "slow day." They open at 10a, but started giving numbers at around 9:38a. Some people at the front of the line were waiting at 430a. 2. I brought my laptop & did work for a few hours. I also brought tea & a snack. Many people brought chairs, blankets, etc. I sat on my yogamat. 3. I was far down the line, so I didn't get a number. I got on the waitlist. I was told I could return after noon, but we probably would not get seen that day. 4. We were really Really lucky that several people bailed. When we got back at noon, they said we were welcome to wait, but probably wouldn't get seen. 5. We brought: - a filled-out application form - my friend's driver's license & a copy of it - my friend's birth certificate & a copy of it - passport photo (you can do this there, but if you're going on a weekend, it is hectic. The willow glen post office delivered my package to the wrong address twice in the same month of November. They delivered 2 more packages to the wrong address even after I came into the post office to stop all packages from delivery. Over and over the robotic counter people asked for my name and address and phone, but they never called me back. by the end of Decemer and 3 mail carriers later, when all my Christmas packages had been lost, the manager finally got involved, but to no avail. He sent me a ridiculous letter from the post office : Dear Postal Customer This is in response to your recent concern regarding your missing parcel I regret learning of the inconvenience you have experienced. Your letter carrier states that he delivered the item, however it did not require a signature. Reports of mail loss greatly concern us. Regrettably, when such instances are brought to our attention, there is no sure way of determining what may have happened. I also recommend you notify the sender and inform them your item was never received. If this item was ordered from a mail order company, you can ask the company to replace your purchased item. Please accept our sincere apology for any inconvenience this matter may have caused you. If you have questions or concerns please call me at 408 723- 6134 Does this guy think I am an idiot?? the mail carrier was a FEMALE, I notified them on the very FIRST package of FOUR packages, and I haulted my mail but they kept delvering them . I'm a college student who's studying abroad next semester and needed to renew my passport now instead of later. My last passport was made when I was still a minor and expired 5 years ago, so I needed to do this ASAP (at least I won't have to do this again for another 10 years!) I dedicated my entire Saturday morning for this since there was absolutely no way that I could have done this during the weekday due to school/work conflicts. If you are in the same boat, I suggest you just bite the bullet and do what I did: wait in line at 4A.M. YES, IT SUCKS, but it was the reason why I was in and out so fast compared to other people. Personally, I would rather get there in the middle of the night and be done 30 minutes into opening than to literally be there ALL DAY, and potentially not making it before the cutoff. Here's a timeline of my experience. I suggest you follow this if you are planning on coming in on a Saturday: -1:00 A.M: The first person shows up and is in line. I'm not kidding. -2-3 A.M: The next 5 people arrive sometime in this timeframe -4 A.M: My sister and I show up. We were 7th in line. -4:30 A.M: The next person shows up -6:30 A.M: The line is down the sidewalk. I'd say, if you aren't in line by now, i'm not sure if it's worth it to wait. -7:30 A.M: The ladies arrive and start handing out tickets. Like the other reviews have said, they tend to get here early to help us out even though they don't open until 9. -8:15 A.M: My ticket gets called -8:30 A.M: Finished and out of the office!! This isn't the funnest process, but I'd have to say it was eye-opening. When I showed up at 4A.M, everyone was friendly and welcoming. When you have to suffer through this together, you bond over it. I got to hear people's stories about their families and careers, and they gave me wise advice. (This may not be the same case for those who arrive at 6 or 7 A.M, but if you're considering going in the middle of the night, it's not as bad as it seems when you have awesome people waiting with you!) My experience with the service was great as well, given the circumstances. BE SYMPATHETIC TO THE WORKERS! They're doing their best, and I could never image doing what they're doing. You can tell they're really trying to accommodate everyone - them showing up an hour before their start time tells you a lot. It also helps to have all of your required paperwork ready. One thing that irritated me was the people who showed up at 8A.M pissed because the office was done giving out tickets for the day. UHM, HELLO, people have been waiting since 1AM. Obviously the people that waited all night will have priority. Don't be entitled, you're gonna have to wait in line like the rest of us. Extra notes: -Photocopies are 50 cents each, so make photocopies at home if you can to save a few bucks -If your license is expired/your new one hasn't come in the mail yet, you need to bring in a witness to sign the DS-71 form as your "proof". Make sure they know their passport number and the passport's date of issuance as well!! -Fill out all forms in BLACK INK, and do not fold any forms. -you can either choose to expedite your passport ($195), or choose the standard route and overnight it, which has about the same delivery dates and is cheaper ($110 + $20.66 = $130.66) Now all I have to do is book my plane ticket! Passport Application Services - Willow Glen. Open 9:00 to 3:00, Monday to Friday. Not too compatible with a regular working schedule, so I decided to try my luck during my 40 minute lunch break. I was able to complete the whole application process in about ten minutes. They are very well organized and the costumers at that time were just three people (that combination is usually very functional). They recommended me to pay the extra fee for the "two week processing", which would allow me to have my passport in about twenty-four days (!?). In any case, my passport was in my hands in ten days. They are really efficient. Note: Checking the processing requirements on-line and having the forms filled out beforehand, saved me a nice time at the line. read more

I went there on Tuesday. I didn't go in the morning thinking there will be a queue as mentioned by other reviewers. I decided to go in the afternoon at around 12:40 PM. I think they give around 40 tokens per day. Last few tokens were remaining. The lady was helping token 17 around that time. My turn came around 2:15 PM. I was out by 2:30 PM. They take photos there too. Documents to carry as suggested by others. It is good to fill the passport form online and then print it to avoid mistakes. Expedited one takes around 3 weeks. The lady there was very helpful and kind. Tip: My son is around 1 month old. I was able to get the photo done there but it is recommended to get the photo done before because infants tend to sleep or they make faces and it takes a while to get the photo done there. read more

First visit after moving from Santa Clara (where the US Post Office branch was absolutely awesome, extremely fast and accurate and reliable)....i thought I'd be getting the same service here. NOT. I came here on my lunch hour... there were only 3 reps waiting on people; and as expected, the line was LONG. It was dumb of me to go there on my lunch break - i do admit that. But i was patient. I had my Iphone4 and Bubble Bust kept me entertained. All i had to do was order the mailbox key to me and my boyfriend's apartment so i was there with my rental agreement and proof of identification. This lady did it fast....and thought it was accurate. She gave me their number for me to call after 5 business days to check to see if the keys were ready for pick up... Called after the 5th business day....and was put on hold for the longest time. Imagine a rush hour traffic from 101 N to 87 S. It was a b*tch. and i was ON HOLD THE ENTIRE TIME. Called the next day...and SAME THING HAPPENED. So i thought, why not just drive to the Post Office myself and see whatsup. (This is after the 8th business day) Well Guess WhaT!!!!! THE KEYS WEREN'T ORDERED AFTER ALL. (AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGH!!!!!) WORST SERVICE EVER. I wasn't happy and the supervisor couldnt even explain why. Like seriously. The clerk whose name I didn't get seemed upset at the way I packaged it (again I reused the box it came in) and told me I would need to repackage it before sending or that's what she TOLD me! Claimed the destination address was illegible and that I would need to purchase a label for .79 to affix to the package so I begrudgingly agreed! She passes my issue off to another worker who affixed my label leaving what I has been told "illegible" address intact and only put my return address on it! Why she didn't simply ask me to add my return address I'll never know. But I left pretty frustrated about the whole incident! read more

I arrived around 8:45 on Friday and was the 100th person in line (it goes up to 99, then back down so I was B00). It definitely was a long wait, but it was understandable since a lot of people didn't have what they needed so it set the wait time back. I got called at about 11AM and I was done in about 10 minutes since I had everything filled out and ready. Tips: - They have the applications there for you to fill out, so fill them out as you're waiting or do them online and print it out. - Have your ID/license out and ready when they call you up (they charged me $0.50 to make a copy of my ID, so if you're stingy and don't want to be out 50 cents, bring your own copy.) - If this is your first time getting a passport, bring your birth certificate or else you won't be able to process your application. - They charge $14~$15 for a passport photo, so if you don't want to waste time, take one beforehand and make sure it's up to passport standard (hair out of face, natural expression). My experience on getting a passport: 1. I went on a Monday morning, it was freezing and raining so I thought maybe not too many people would be in line. I was wrong! I was there at 7:30 and there was about 20 people ahead of me. The first person was there at 6. The hours say they open at 10. But they opened at 8:45. 2. They handed out around 48 tickets and told you that you could leave but if you weren't there then you'd be skipped. I was number 43. *Note- people wait for their families so just because there's 20 people in line doesn't mean that's exactly how many are ahead of you. 3. One lady calls your number to check all your papers are there and filled out correctly, then you sit back down until the second lady processes everything. 4. My number to check my papers was called at around noon, but I still had to wait to get it processed. They break for lunch from 1:25-2:00. So I left and came back at 2:15. 5. I was finally seen at 3:30 and it took her about 5 minutes to process my papers. It takes on average 10-15 mins per person. Moral of the story: make sure you have ALL your papers (application filled out in black ink, birth certificate, photo ID, copy of photo ID, and passport photos). Also, get there EARLY, like VERY early. P.s the staff is really sweet, stern, but sweet and helpful. They're just trying to make it easy and smooth for themselves and for everyone else. read more

Honestly, start by reading all the reviews on this Yelp page--people have left some extremely helpful hints and descriptions here, and I'd have had a much worse time if I hadn't had all the helpful info going in. I'm mostly just here to corroborate. Like everyone else here says, ARRIVE EARLY--before 7 am on a weekday, and before 5 am on a Saturday--especially if you're applying for your passport during a travel-heavy time of year (spring and summer). Arrive so early you get to watch the sun rise from the sidewalk. Bring a chair, bring a book, bring a fully-charged phone, bring a positive attitude (no, really). People tend to save spots for their families, so the line will get a lot bigger in front of you. Don't panic. Did you get there early? You'll make it in. Bring all of your paperwork fully filled out in black ink. Bring your OG birth certificate. Bring your old passport, if you have one. Get your picture taken beforehand if you can--there's a Walgreen's right down the street. Be prepared to wait. Oh, and please be nice to the staff. They're brisk but amicable, they're almost supernaturally patient, and they take good care of everyone. read more

Just came back from this office today. Truly, read all the 5 star reviews for the "tips" before you make your trek down here. If you do, you will know exactly what you're getting into before you get there and you won't come away bitter like half the folks here. True: You have to get there early. I rolled in just before 7am on a Friday and thought i would be near the front of the line. I was about 10th. True: Bring a chair, sweater, charged phone/magazine. It does get a little chilly in the shade and you will be waiting several hours. Partially True: Be prepared to spend half the day there. Real time i got in just around 7am and i was all done around 10:30am. On this particular day, they let some people in early (around 9ish) to check their paperwork and make sure everything was in line and designated early numbers at the same time. They didn't start processing at exactly that time, but i'm sure this made the process quicker for the first 10-15 of us. False: The workers there are rude and don't care. The other folks might have caught them on a bad day or i might have caught them on a good one, but the ladies working the counter (i wish i got their names) were some of the nicest i've ever experienced at a post office, government office, if not any retail. They are forced by union to take their breaks when they do - that doesn't mean they don't want to help. They might tell you to move back if you're hovering while they're helping another customer but i assume that's more for confidentiality than anything? They do read the reviews, so don't be a troll. Bring a good attitude and some patience (You were the one who forced yourself into rushing your passport, not them) and you'll come away just fine. read more

This passport office is by far the best and most friendly and efficient. The lady and the gentleman whose are always working there are most helpful and attentive so I thank them for doing their jobs so well, it's a definately ten stars from me. Unfortunately I have to say that this post office has been nothing but completely incompetent since I moved into the area. I never give one star reviews and it pains me to do so because some of the employees are rather friendly. BUT: when we moved our mail did not get forwarded. I did the online thing and paid the $1 or whatever weird fee and got a confirmation number. Important mail and packages kept going to our old apartment (3 blocks away thank goodness but still a giant pain in the butt). We went and filled out a change of address AGAIN but now in person and it STILL didn't stick completely. I didn't learn my lesson and on TWO separate occasions I have asked for our mail to be held while we are away and BOTH times it has been delivered anyway; mail shoved mercilessly into the overflowing mailbox and packages piling up. Hello, thieves?! Please come take my stuff! And while you're at it, break into my home because obviously no one is here!! Standing in line for held mail is yet another complaint...it seems each person assigned to that task has taken a heavy tranquilizer and/or has been sent by Jesus specifically to give me patience. I understand that the post office is a government institution and not much can be expected of it, but at least a LITTLE more than this?! I'm sorry, Post Office on Meridian, but you are truly awful. Here at the USPS on Meridian on a raining Friday morning waiting to renew my passport. If you can do it by mail then do it. If you are not comfortable mailing confidential doc then expect a minimum of 2 - 3 hrs wait. Door opened @10a and it was already 50 people deep. By the time I got my number at 10:15a, they said to return @ 1p no sense sitting and wait cuz they ain't gonna move any faster. Luckily a guy needed a later time so he traded w me.
