The worst mail service I've ever had in 60 years. Lost mail, mis-delivery, no delivery, no phone service whatsoever, just pathetic.

Once again I have waited all day for a package that showed status OUT FOR DELIVERY in the early morning. Mail carrier delivered my mail and two packages at 1:50 12/24/19 EXCEPT FOR THE ONE PACKAGE I needed with my prescription eyeglasses. I FINALLY get text at 5:20PM that my package was delivered, in/at mailbox so I return to my mailbox AND IT IS EMPTY! Obviously the carrier placed it in the incorrect mailbox. And of course since it's Saturday, they closed for the weekend at 5PM. This isn't the first time that a package of mine was delivered to the wrong place. In the past I was lucky to have honest neighbors who rang my doorbell with the misdirected item. Is it TOO MUCH to ask for a little due diligence when delivering packages to double check that it's placed in the correct mailbox????? read more

They lost my package. When I called to find it, they were not helpful. I reported it missing and requested it be sent somewhere else, as their website allows. The package was then found and sent to my address and they refused to refund my shipping costs. Even though they were the ones who lost it and brought it to the wrong house. read more

Been calling them for 5 days, letting the phone ring over and over and over again. No one answers but then it just rings busy after about 30 rings. Ok, tax payers are really being screwed over by civil service employees. We pay your salary but you serve no one except yourself! Ridiculous!! read more

I popped into this Post Office hoping to drop my pre paid package off and get a receipt. There was only 2 employees working with a line out the door, about 12 people. One person was doing regular mail issues and the other only processing applications for passports. I waited in the line 45 minutes to get up to the front and be told she could accept my package , but couldn't provide a receipt, she told me the postmaster does not allow them the equipment to print receipts for pre-paid postage. The associate told me I would have to process my package through the kiosk to get a receipt. I didn't get her name but she was Asian. I took my package to the kiosk area, only one of them was working, I obtained a receipt but when I placed my package in the processing tub it would not allow me to check that it went through. A delivery guy from one of the sub contracted mail services told me and another customer it only hangs up like that when the bin inside is full. They have a sign in this post office that states they pride themselves in providing excellent customer , apparently they are not aware all the issues I had today are related to customer service. They continue to increase postage cost and the service is horrible, there were no signs to indicate the requirement of using the kiosk if you need a receipt and the delivery of the information from the employee was unconcerned that customers were walking away disappointed and frustrated. I used my gps to find this post office since I was on that side of town, but I could have just waited and went to the post office on my side of town, I've always been able to get a receipt from the associate. This is the absolute worst post office I've ever had to use. Every time I have my mail held there when I go out of town, I ask repeatedly on the form to NOT place my mail in my mailbox and that I will pick it up from the post office once I get back. They have yet to do what I ask. You can never get anyone on the phone and the lines are horrendous no matter what time you go in. read more

This place is kind of a mess but no where near as bad as the Sugar Land post office off of 90 at Matlage way... that one is a wreck! I've been going to this post office once a week or more recently because a friend moved out of the country for a year and I'm checking her PO box for her. This place has lots of parking, so that's never an issue. I've had to deal with the counter service people a few times when the box has gotten too full and they've kept the mail behind the counter. The problem with this place is the layout. There is tons of room but the way the place is laid out is idiotic! When you walk in, the PO boxes are to your left, which is fine. Then slightly to the right is the counter. There is nothing indicating where a line should form, so when a line does form (which is every day) it forms straight back to the door. It's so dumb! It ends up blocking the counters where people can stand and label their boxes/letters/etc to be mailed. It blocks some of the PO boxes. It blocks the door where you can pick up packages by ringing the bell. All they need to do is put out some little roped areas and people could queue up in a way that didn't block everything. As it is, everyone constantly has to say "excuse me" and they cut through the line to get to things. Also, the lines stands against one side of the counter where you can stand and label stuff, rendering it inoperable. Ok, so why 3 stars? This place is clean, large, good parking, AND when I had to get the mail from behind the magic postal wall, the woman (manager?) was helpful is helping me obtain the proper paperwork so I could access my friend's PO box. This is definitely a better Sugar Land Post Office. Maybe I will suggest that they fix their line problem when I pop in their next time. read more

I hated the other Sugar Land post office so much that I came here. Between being belittled and talked to like a children, and them failing to answer phones that have drastically affected me they are just overall bad humans. These are the kind of people that you wish the worst for in real life. They treat you poorly and know you can do nothing about it, because the other Sugar Land post office might be even worse than this one. THE SUGAR LAND, GRANTS LAKE POST OFFICE IS JUST THE WORST STILL! If I could give them no stars I would. This has got to be THE WORST post office ever. They should just replace everyone that works there with robots. At least the ones that have to deal with the public. They are not professional on any level. They belittle and talk down to you. My mail is missing so much of the time it is absurd. They say that they do attempt to deliver my packages. CLEARLY the postal carriers have a very different idea of what an "Attempt" is. Never EVER has a notice been left when a package could not be delivered. I have to track down my packages 90% of the time. GOD FORBID I actually have to call and speak to a postal worker. They are the rudest people I have ever met. Everyone I've ever encountered at this location CLEARLY HATES THEIR JOB and they are not hiding it. I have been put on hold for as long as 40 minutes, before I hung and to call back. When I've gone to the post office directly to pick up a package, They've closed the door in my face. Not 2 inches from my face. The people that work there are completely disrespectful. Again today I am dealing with yet another missing package. This time I was told the internet was down and to call back in 30 minutes. Funny. How do they know exactly when the system will be up again. Is there a possible -25 stars review? If this was possible I would post it. Here is the scenario. We go into the Post Office to claim a PO Box we paid for online. Here it what is says you must bring: Two forms of ID. 1. A Photo ID 2. An identification to verify local address. We bring both!!! A photo ID and insurance card to verify local address, both of which are approved forms of ID on the USPS website. Do you think we received a box? NO!!!! Our ID address is our second home address, which use to be our main home address. Our insurance ID does have the local address and the address on the application. According to the USPS website the photo ID is considered separate than the address verification and clearly says so on the application. The photo is to verify the individual that is present and the second form of ID is solely for address verification. Somehow these employees do not understand their rules. To make sure I was reading the requirements correctly I called two different post offices who stated the Grant's Lake location is absolutely INCORRECT. You must have the second form of identification that matches the address. That is the sole purpose of the requirement of the second form of ID. Your photo ID is NOT required to match the application address. To triple check we were correct we went to a nearby location and they too agreed with us. From the absolutely rude clerk with horrible body language and the loud overbearing voice to the completely clueless manager this location is only good for dropping off packages. read more

I'm here several times a week. I'm pretty sure every USPS in existence is not drama-free. I've had worse 'tude at the TXDPS. There isn't much that can be done for you if they lose your package, so I wouldn't bother getting your knickers in a twist. Calling them and filling out a form online is completely useless. I've noticed that they have tried harder this year to help with the long lines during the holidays, and I do appreciate that. Also like how they've finally updated both machines, but I still have to wait in line for my international packages. There is no more separate 'delivery confirmation' in the form of green slips- it's now 'tracking' that is included in new machine-printed shipping labels. I do try my best to come prepared with everything filled out and ready to go so that, with phone in hand, the line is magically shortened by my internet addiction. Negetive 5 stars I could put if I can. Went to drop off a package and needed to tape on the shipping label, they tried to charge me $3 for a piece of tape! So I borrowed from another lady customer. When I went to the counter the lady on the counter asked another employe lady for whether she charge me $3 for tape or not! How cheap-asses are they! read more

Zero star for this post office. They post fake status on your package all the time. I would be waiting all day at the door then 5 pm., status changed to undeliverable because no one answered the door. I have a video door bell so lying is their specialty other than being hostile & rude. They think they own the federal government & you go in to beg for their services. The manager W is just as bad & rude. The longer the workers work there the more hostile they are. They are very good at telling you no & shout at you if you want to find their strength. This post office needs to be shut down...they lost or more than likely one of the workers stole my pre-paid priority mail package and could give two fux about it. I dropped it off to them on Friday at 2:30 and it still has not been scanned in so I can track it. I went to speak with the supervisor about it on yesterday and got nothing from her. I've been coming here for years and the service has always been mediocre to decent. Now they're charging for priority mail tape. Apparently using their priority service isn't enough. As a reseller, I've gone to my fair share of post offices. However, i do not typically do not leave reviews. Instead just mark it on the "do not go to" list. This particular post office certainly took the cake. As it was by far the worst I've ever visited. As many that have left reviews pointed out. The lines were egregiously long. If you must go to this location. Certainly refrain from doing so if you are on a time crunch. As ridiculous as the lines were. That isn't my biggest complaint... there has yet to be a post office I've visited. That does not have an area where postage packages can not be dropped off without a receipt needed. Until today however. Myself like others were told to go to the "blue door" and ring the bell. (That already had a line for itself) the postal employee attending this door obviously has other job duties and responsibilities to attend to rather than man this blue door. Especially for drop-offs. Once i was finally helped he ask why i didn't "drop the package off in the chute?" (Yes the one that frequently gets stuck) Though i certainly could've.. the question i had was why they didn't have an area specifically for drop offs. May it be big bins or the counter like every other location. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Just got turned away for not having tape on my priority mail boxes. Had to buy tape for 3.50, although the gentleman next to me was helped no problem. They taped his box up. I never learn at this place. It's poor service ever time. read more

I'm surprised you people are rating this place higher than it deserves to be. My parent's have been out of the country for a few weeks, and every weekend I come by to check up on their house and everything. I noticed that the mail has not been coming in or anything. I assumed it was on hold, but since there was some important documents I was expecting in their mail, I wanted to be sure. So I came in to the First Colony Post Office to ask a question about my parent's mail. Waited in the long line for about 15-20 minutes or so, that's fine, I'm a patient guy. Finally, it was my turn, and I went up to the nearest teller. I told the guy about my situation, and right away he gave me a very cold and unfriendly response, saying that I would have to talk to my parent's about it (my parents were out of the country and I have no way of contacting them properly). I then asked if he could even check for me if their mail was on hold, and RUDELY told me no he wouldn't. Wow. Just, WOW. For the very first time in my life, I was ready to climb over the counter and punch this guy in the face and make him bleed over the mail, but my maturity and the bigger man in me held me back. Whether or not I could or couldn't check my parents held mail, either result would've been fine. This man's nasty attitude was the deal breaker for me. I've delt with employees at the Wal-Mart returns department that were more cordial than this douche. I'm glad I don't have to deal with the post office on a regular basis, because unless I really have to, I will not be going back there for a very long time. I'll 100% admit that I do not mail things often, so the post office is always a very daunting task for me because I know that I'm coming in there with zero experience and a lot of questions. today was no different. I was very stressed. I am completely dumbfounded with how complex The postal system is in regards to what type of parcels can be mailed under what kind of delivery service and under what kind of insurance coverage you can get for it and how all of that comes up to whatever they charge for you, which I always think is overpriced. but I will say that Joley was absolutely amazing today in helping me to find the most efficient mailing system, that offered the insurance coverage that I needed, and in packaging that I felt was very secure. I really appreciate her taking the time out of her day when there's obviously other people in the post office. She wonderfully was balancing myself as well as others and making sure everybody got great care. I want to offer a sincere thank you to her. I hope that she sees this review and is properly awarded for her amazing customer service. She went above and beyond and was so patient. read more

DON'T TAKE YOUR BABIES HERE FOR PASSPORT. Elaine is probably the worst person I have ever met, she is rude and soul less. She was yelling at my 18 month, yes only 18 months old, during passport interview because he wasn't sitting still for the photo. Clearly she doesn't have kids and if she does, I feel sorry for them. Talk to me if you have a problem, not to a baby. When I told her that he is just a baby and this approach is not going to work. She asked me to go somewhere else. Wow! You're not doing me a favor. I was the victim of theft by one of the employees at this post office about 2 weeks ago. I mailed a package and when it was received, the original items were gone and replaced by junk that matched the weight of the shipping label. $15 postage fee + $104 value of the contents in the package. I always use USPS, all over the country, and I've never encountered a situation where one of the employees has stolen contents of mail. Very disappointed in this branch. This post office does their best to get you in and out quickly when you wait in line. Some counter help are much better than others! Mae, in particular, is great about working with you to recommend the most economical choice when mailing packages. She always has a smile and a calm in the storm attitude I appreciate. I had a male helper give me wrong info about packaging that cost me $. I also wish they'd get their counters better organized and stocked. When it comes to supplies and other counters, it isn't well organized. Could use a good cleaning as well! read more

They have two self service machines which i love. The lines can be long but I think that is common in any post office. Its located directly across from a library which i also love. I Hit them both when im there. read more

I read all the reviews and knew not to expect much from this post office. I went there today and it is worse than the reviews even state. I stood in line for 20 minutes all I needed to do was drop off a package but I had to have a receipt showing that it had been scanned. The lady refused to help me after I stood in line and said you have to do it yourself at the machine. I went to the machine and there was an error message on the machine it was down and not working. I went back to the lady and told her the machine is not working I don't need you to put postage or weigh it everything is done I just need you to scan it so I can have a receipt to show that it's been returned. She refused to help me she advised me that they were told that they are not to help customers who can use the self check out machines. I once again advised her the machine is not working and I've already stood in two lines. When I asked to speak to her supervisor She simply told me ring the doorbell she refused to give me her name she refused to give me her supervisors name and who supposedly told them not to help the customers. Not sure what she's getting paid for if she's not going to help the customers, she is just a waste of space. The girl behind the door when I rang the doorbell her name was Aluri she said she could not scan it there either but she did go to the machine with me so we can get it fixed and up and running to where I can get what I needed. Aluri Was very kind and patient with me and the Customer in front of me. The rest of the people working there or a joke. While I was still in line a gentleman with two boxes approached another lady and he needed to weigh his boxes and pay postage. She again advised him he can use the machines to do that however at least she was willing to do it for him. But when he told her you are telling me to use the machine so you don't have to deal with me she said yes that's absolutely correct. I mailed 4 pieces of mail on January 24 in outside box and none were delivered. It's not the first time this has happened for me.

This post office delivery is the worst. Obviously there personnel is lazy as our neighbors and us are receiving each others mail. This is a continuous issue and needs to be resolved immediately. read more

what can you say when you have no other choice. i try to use the self service kiosk all the time when i go. if you can't use the self service kiosk be ready to wait. the lines can get long at times. The staff there are friendly and it's just important to support the postal system! read more

The way to avoid the usual long line is to arrive no later than 10 a.m. The workers are nice and helpful. Nice self help area.

Worst post office EVER! The phone is always busy, if you do get it to ring, they take forever to answer! Then they put you on hold and never come back. My Premium Forwarding Service was a joke. They never forwarded my mail unless I called every week and as I said, calling them is a nightmare. The USPO needs to investigate this facility and make some major changes!!!! read more

I had a post for oversea. I sent it 3 times and they sent back to me thanks to employee's mistakes.The first time they forgot to put the address label with that overseas language that I gave to them. The second time they forgot to put the label which estimates the value of the items and the third time was a mistake in U.S regulation. I sent the same exact items in downtown branch and my family got it one month ago and this one is still in my hand . I asked office manager to give me refund but he was reluctant to do so. So right now I lost over $100 and no one accept their mistake. There was a long line and just people are working there who are so slow. Not recommend at all if you have other choice. read more
