I visited on adult night, and I must say, not a lot of adults visited on this particular night. I've had a better experience at other rinks...in the west valley, primarily. This rink had a lot of dips and uneven surfaces. The DJ started out strong, with favorite hits from way back, but as the night progressed, the music and the vibe kind of changed to a slower pace. There is a concession stand as well as a game room. But honestly. this facility is not worth me coming back to. It's probably good for children. But definitely not for a seasoned gal like myself. Not sure why this place has such bad reviews, but I had a great time here at their adult skate night. Adult skate night is great as a lot of very good skaters show up, so you're in for a treat when you come. There may have been a few people that came that couldn't skate that well. Of all the rinks I have been to lately, I think this one was the most clean and aesthestically pleasing to me. I just wish they wouldn't turn on the bright lights too much. The DJ was kind of all over the place, so I didn't enjoy the music as much, but it was fun to skate and get some exercise in! I want to improve on my rollerskating technique and want to be able to skate backwards with ease, Im working towards that goal. I enjoyed coming here and I'll be back again. It's more pricy on adult night where it's $15 for admission, but honestly, a great bargain for 3 hours of skating. It's great places like these are still open, I know its not so hip to rollerskate, but I've always enjoyed it and will keep skating until I can't. I'm glad this place exist. read more

Personally, I would never want to Return here. Their prices are outrageous for food, and also the constant announcement of horrible little toys made of flimsy plastic that probably cost 30 dollars each. I was to scared to even see the prices alone. They have a wavier for a reason. The floor's are uneven and horrific, as this was my first time skating after 4 years, it felt like the ground was pulling me down on half of the rink, like my skates couldn't even properly move. Their was so many little holes and bits on the floor that made it impossible. I tried to get back into it, i would get it, than try on the second half of the rink and it would cause me to tumble and fall practically the whole time, My partner, who was also returning to skating injured his knee pretty bad on that second half because it made his skates stumble and a sense just stop. Horrible place, Some woman even gave me a nasty look for trying to take a picture of the sonic and shadow costume's, like im sorry you were in my picture. but anyhow, i need to add in that same spot, I busted MY knees? i fell hard onto them and than when i tried to get up, which im pretty good at doing, i couldn't well because it would grip onto my skates and each little hole prevented it, i got up, and i started going, and bam. Knees Busted. So...I Do not Recommend, Don't go here if you appreciate your Knee's, and Your Bank Account. But hey, you get free wrist protectors right....makes up for the expensive entrance fee and the ..insanely expensive drink..+ food (this is sarcasm.) We were trying to skate as we knew how on their horrible flooring, and this one woman kept coming up to us like we needed her constant surveillance, whilst 3 girls stood center of the rink conversing with their little...pushy things ..standing entirely still which was against the rules, and i HAVE to add, I fell, almost practically busted my head open, I stood up, and fell again, so i grabbed onto the side for a moment to take a BREATH; and this damn worker started skating over to me, hands behind her back wide ass grin; like i just caused a detrimental action on HER turf. I NARROWLY avoided her screaming at me for the 4th time. like jeez woman let me breathe for a second after i almost lost my life on your shitty floors. and do we need to scan everyone like this is a 21+ club? The wand's were like those you'd see in TSA from a secondhand shop. glad i didnt bring my bag. We had so much fun here. It's a bit run down. Some of the arcade games were not working. The skeeball machines were all messed up. They had a good package for $20 you got 1 admission, a game card, glow stick necklace and skate rentals. Staff are great here and very helpful to new skaters. They even have classes and assistive rolling stands for people new to skating or just added support. My grandkids loved it, recognized much of the music that was played and felt comfortable there despite the fact that skating is new to them. My only negative is that it is very loud. Think cracked plastic, laces that look like they've been through multiple wars, and wheels that screech like a dying seagull. The atmosphere is equally depressing. I came here for my friend's birthday and the experience was so annoying. I asked for a pair of walkers to help me the first time and they had ran out. I was annoyed because it's very easy to break something here and any establishment should have essential safety/beginner equipment but I understood and went skating (and fell repeatedly.).Later I saw soon walkers get returned and asked again for some walkers. But the lady working the skate booth said "no, there's no more." When I pointed out the newly returned walker she said the walkers need to be up to my waist. At first I was upset but I understood why, but no more the 5 minute I saw a woman with a walker that wasn't up to her waist and I just sat there staring wonder " what the fuck is this double standard shit?!" If you come it's much easier to steal an old ma's walker off the street than try to buy one here. read more

I just received an email that jogged my memory about our issues with our Trolls party that took place this month. 1. Filled out the form online and when it came time to pay the deposit it wouldn't take it. Ian, who is the party manager presumably?, called and left a message about my needing to pay the deposit and he knew the online form was down. After calling many, many times I started commenting on social media posts and sent a message via Facebook. At that point I was able to set up a call with Ian and get the deposit paid. 2. I heard nothing in the weeks between the booking and the party aside from an email I couldn't respond to. I started receiving automated "Your $50.00 deposit is due," emails so I got concerned and tried calling / leaving messages again - to no response. 3. I finally got someone on the phone a day or two before the party. She was very nice and said when we arrived on Saturday everything would be explained to us and we could order food / beverages for the adults (we had no idea how many adults would stay) day-of on an as-needed basis. 4. We arrived and Ian got us quickly checked in. We don't go to Skateland regularly. This party was inspired by another party my daughter attended. I had no idea what was expected of us, how to get Skate Mates, skates, etc. Ian told us our party host(ess) would meet with us soon to go over details. This person never approached me (party mom) with a word of any clue as to what was going on. The kids all got their own skates, Skate Mates, etc. and it was off to the races. 5. We paid for a Trolls party - which is a premium party package at $34 or $35/head. We were supposed to get to choose our Troll - we didn't get to. Poppy just came out and spent roughly... 3? minutes with our party and proceeded to _tour the rest of the facility taking photos with other guests and kids_. If I had known I was paying for Trolls tableware ($10 on Amazon) and 3 minutes of Poppy, I would've just waited for Poppy to come around and say hi just like everyone else did. 6. We had no idea what was going on - ever. We kept timing things very poorly because we weren't given any direction as to a timeline. The kids would leave to go skate and IMMEDIATELY be called back to the DJ booth to spin the wheel. They left to go skate and they were IMMEDIATELY called back to pick their song. They left to go skate and were IMMEDIATELY told pizza was ready. This went on and on and on. 7. The cake was dropped off so we could put our toppers on it and we did. It only took a minute or two. Our hostess was MIA - again - (my husband had already had to ask other cast / crew for her 3-4 times by this time) so I just gloved up and cut it myself. Apparently that was a no-no. How would I know? 8. There was PLENTY OF STAFF THERE. There were two people working the skate rental counter, two or three up front, four or five on the skate floor monitoring at all times, and then an additional 2-3 on the main floor doing drinks, DJing, etc. This was not a particularly busy Saturday morning and they had plenty of staff. They also closed at noon. Like, literally no skating, get out, closed. 9. ACQUAINTANCES of my kids were dropped off and allowed to join our party. Two kids (boys, not friends with my daughter) were dropped off and given party wrist bands for our party. Not sure if that math is mathing to you, but that would've added $70.00 to our party had everyone showed up, and DID at $35 to our party because one of them went over headcount. We did not bless their attendance and honestly had I been asked I would've told them to just leave. There were several other parents with us who have attended or had parties there and said this is the norm. Had I known this was the norm I would've booked elsewhere. It was NOT a "cheap" party and having hosted 5 of these for my daughter and 6 of these for my son over the years, I will tell you this was the worst-managed. If your kiddo insists on Skateland for their party, just do your own thing. If you can talk them into going elsewhere - do that. It was a joke. read more

One adukt in our party had gum in their purse and they made her throw out an entire brand new pack of gum or they wouldn't let her in. I was there to watch and not skate. After seated, they came over to our table and said you have to pay 4 dollars. I told her that I was not skating. I was told that was the price because I was occupying space. I gave her a 5 and she retuned with .37 cents. .63 cents tax on 4 dollars? Then we had included the walkers for kids that can't skate. They ended up charging each parent $6.21 cents each. I accidentally paid for 1 extra ticket. I asked for a refund they told me " we don't do refunds, you can try to redeem it some other time and maybe you can redeem it." We came to Skateland for their New Years Eve afternoon celebration. For $15 we got skates, admission for 2.5 hours, pizza and drinks along with NYE supplies. Music was a good mix of new and classics. There is so much truth to a lot of the bad reviews! It's hot as hades in here. The DJ's picks are TERRIBLE. I think the wrist guards are a ridiculous policy considering we have to sign a waiver to enter. I would be more concerned with making people wear helmets than I would wrist guards. A head injury can kill someone. Haven't heard of a normal healthy person dying from a broken wrist but maybe that's just me. It's not a deal breaker for me or anything but seems unnecessary. Much better than the other options in the area. Unlike Greatskate in Glendale, the Skateland employees seem to genuinely like their job. The floors at this rink are a solid 7.5/10. There are a few rough patches, but overall it skates really well. The music is also a nice change of pace. Most rinks in Phoenix play crappy rap with constant drug and sexual references. Skateland played some classic hits like party in the USA among others. The floor is a bit smaller then a few other rinks in the area, but they make up for that with the staff, music played, and overall experience. Running a dishonest business here! I went tonight with my two teenagers. As I checked in to pay I showed the girl my skates and told her I needed to pay for three admission tickets and two skate rentals for my kids. She said the total was 40 bucks, which felt high. But I haven't been skating in awhile so I figured prices just went high. She then handed me food court tickets. That surprised me but I figured they came with admission. And then she handed me 3 tickets for skate rentals. I reminded her that I didn't need one and she said "oh, it's the same price whether you rent skates or not". I come home and look at my email receipt and see they charged me 18 dollars for the food court tickets I didn't ask for OR use. And she did charge for me the skate rental I didn't ask for or use. This place has really disappointed me and after tonight I will NOT be back here. Tonight they charged $15 per person regardless of you skating or not. Just because they were offering ALL YOU CANT EAT PIZZA. I have a hand a fractured thumb and can't skate and my 4 yr old can't either. So I paid for my oldest 3 children $68. They charged $6x3 $10x3 and $4.50x3 plus tax twice. Yet they said it was only $15 per person. Currently as I write this me and my 4 yr old and my mother are sitting outside. The security went to ask the manager to make an exception and he/she said ABSOLUTELY NOT. That made you wear these very bad smelling wrist guards like they don't even sanitize them and you HAVE to be wearing them whenever your on the rink. Throw back to my child hood. Your typical skating rink. Dingy, not a lot of upgrades, but fun none the less. You can bring your own skates or rent theirs. They also always have deals going on and fun events so check their website and FB. They do offer food and drinks, but bring your own water bottles. They charge for a small cup and it's hard to maneuver holding them on skates. Ask me how I know.... We love that we can request our favorite songs. read more

Love this place. Skateland chandler hosted a fundraiser for Our cheerleaders! We had one hour of private skating prior to them being open to the public and all entry admission went back to our cheerleaders directly! Being over a 30 min drive we still had a big crowd which was nice. Staff was all super friendly! And for the most part it was clean. Two things: 1.the bathrooms needed attention there was several puddles which I thought was totally unsafe and I thought it was weird that one bathroom didn't have a door. 2. They were out of socks ! Granted I'm the one who somehow misplaced them from Point A to point B but I was for Sure they would of had them but they were out ! read more

I would not suggest this place to anyone. I wanted to have a fun mommy daughters date and decided to try this place out . When we went inside we waited a while for a front desk attendant , they had employees working multiple stations. One employee was DJing and giving out skates. The prices were pretty jacked as well. Once we got inside you could truly see this place has not had any updates since the 90s (maybe 80s) and it was not clean looking. We went to get skates and the were not well kept and nasty hand pads (that are mandatory) They only had plastic skates for my toddler. After trying to skate in barely rolling skates and my daughter getting flustered with cheap plastic skates we left. They really need to revamp in here-- and it's not like they are not getting the customers money to be able to do so. read more

Was really looking forward to a solid fun, family experience and we didn't come close to getting that. Starting with the line to get in. There should have been more than 2 people taking payment and giving people wristbands....we got in line at 4:40 and didn't get in until 5:15. Now inside... The customer service at the skate rental desk was absolutely awful. They cared nothing about making sure kids had a great skating experience (offering help, tightening skates which they decline to do, and at one point walked away from my wife going to exchange skates for blades). On the rink, they stopped for a 5 minutes rules video which wasted our skate time and threatened to start the video over if people didn't stop skating (mind you those were 3-6 year olds....they're kids, relax). You can't stop on the walls by the tables for whatever reason even if simply trying to adjust kids skates and whatnot. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Broken door locks and hinges and not clean at all. We were hopeful for a great Sunday as a family and unfortunately we didn't get that here. read more

The family is talking about going back. The only negative was the skate floor was rough on the back side and a couple spots here and there. Management - Please consider this review feedback seriously if you want to improve the experience of your patrons. I've skated at this rink over 20 times during the last 10 years with my family so I feel I have a pretty solid basis for useful positive and negative feedback and an honest rating. Positive: 1. Friendly staff 2. Great location 3. Reasonable price Negative: 1. Out of Touch DJ Selections: Same DJ every single time I'm there. He has good intentions and is very friendly but plays horrible music consistently and constantly interrupts the music to scold skaters. Also walks on the floor without skates which is a hazard to the skaters. Let the floor monitor do that! You don't need to announce every time over the speaker. play modern music that is not exactly the same every time! Consider different or rotating DJs! This is the biggest reason for the low rating. Fix this one thing and it's a huge upgrade in customer experience. HUGE. 2. Speaker system / volume - WAY too loud and the speakers need to be replaced with something that is clearer. This isn't the 1980s. 3. Entry access - skaters should be let in before the start of the session so they have time to get skates and and wrist guards in advance otherwise it's a bit of false advertising on the duration. 4. Cool it with the special skates like backwards and opposite direction. Just let people skate like normal. 5. Floor quality. Most modern roller rinks resurface their floor every few years at a minimum. This floor is very bumpy. Consider a real wood floor. 6. Consider offering sessions for figure skating, speed skating and hockey. All three of these roller sports are much needed in the valley! read more

All the skates I've tried have been in fair to pretty poor condition. It just encourages me to buy my own pair...eventually. We drove all the way down here on Halloween night because their website indicated a Halloween night skate session from 7pm-10pm. However, we arrived to an empty lot and a sign on the door stating they had cancelled the night session. Not cool. They frequently host themed skate nights, like Michael Jackson night, 80s night, throwback Thursday, Family Skate night, and a Christian music skate night. Trying to find a new workout option so started skating ! Found this place online as I was looking for cooler summer options . I went on a Tuesday right at 5pm when they start on this weekday and it was perfect . Not too crowded at all for the first hour , so able to get in a good workout before families showed up closer to 6pm . Apparently ok Tuesday you get a slice of pizza a soda w the entrance fee . Honestly sounds great for families . It's older of course so I mean don't expect 2022 standards but the rink itself felt newer and safe . Oh suggestion , if you plan on coming at least a few times I say invest in your own wrist guards so you don't have to use public ones - kinda grossed me out but it's mandatory . read more

We had my husband's 30th birthday here, and I was very impressed with the attentiveness and attention to detail of the staff hosting the party. We were able to bring alcohol since we did a private party, and it was an absolute blast. They took care of pretty much everything - and most importantly, the DJ kept the party moving. 1st time here, just moved from Oregon and to be completely honest it was "WONDERFUL" My girls didn't like the wrist braces but the music was on point and they forgot they were wearing them lol. Now in Oregon they didn't have the device to help one skate and I'd never seen one till here and all the skaters using them to help them skate seemed to really love it!
