Lemon pepper wing with no rub of lemon pepper
    Victor E.

Wings were disgusting, plain , no great rub or sauce on the wings . Mozzarella sticks were like chewing rubber , the fried pickles no flavor just plain fried pickles . Only reason I am giving a 2 star review is because the lady who checked me out was nice that is all . With a $44.00 dollar tab these wings were horrible and not good . I'll take my business elsewhere.

I ask for extra crispy and they always oblige. Can't beat a two-for-Tuesday deal. Tasty sauces and chicken fried right. Always good.

Cozy, well decorated restaurant with the perfect brunch atmosphere!…read more This place can get busy especially on the weekend, and so I highly recommend getting a reservation! Came here for brunch and they have a unique menu that puts an Asian spin to some classic dishes. A dish I will never stop raving about is the scallion waffle. It comes with a sambal honey butter that pairs deliciously with the crispy waffle. You can add the orange chicken for $10 and honestly, worth because it's crunchy, sweet, and adds a nice protein component to the waffle. Two other apps I really loved were the crab dip (which comes with a sweet and spicy jelly super super good) and the shrimp ceviche style app (can't recall the name but super tangy and fresh) my only complaint about the shrimp is that the cracker it comes with is way too salty. Overall, great menu!

The restaurant has a sunny and bright atmosphere with plenty of room. I started with a well prepared Bloody Mary. I ordered the Char Siu Eggs Benedict and my wife ordered the Orange Chicken and Waffles. In a faster than expected time, my wife was served her meal. I believe this is where things started to go wrong. There was a slight look of confusion from the person who dropped off my wife's order. A little more than five minutes later my food arrived. It was evident from the first bite that this was a panic quick fire order. The bread was supposed to be toasted but one had no brown marks and the other had a scant amount. Because of this the bread was bland, cold, and somewhat dry. As this was the foundation for everything on top, the whole dish was bland and disappointing. The poached egg was cooked perfectly but the hollandaise lacked any depth of flavor. The standout was the Bean-offee pie. A great take on a classic banoffee pie. This had the perfect balance of sweet to savory and was absolutely delicious. I'm sure that the namesakes of this restaurant would be disappointed that the kitchen rushed an order and sent out a dish that wasn't prepared properly. I would have gladly waited several minutes longer to get the dish I expected and paid for.

I asked our server a couple questions about some of the dishes and was met with Irritation and rudeness and comments like, "of course there is cream in the mashed potatoes, it's mashed potatoes!" I was also told that the green beans were "just fried in a little bit of olive oil", yet they came out on my plate in a brown sauce. Hmm. Our server seemed to be very nice to a couple tables around us but not so much with us. She also appeared to be the only staff person in the restaurant out on the floor. I overheard other people calling her Shandy and it turned out she was the owner! I was appalled! As a female, I'm passionate about supporting other females and women-owned businesses, especially minority women. But I do expect a certain level of professionalism and to be treated with respect. I didn't find that at Shandy's :( My mom provided feedback to the owner after our meal and the owner indicated to my mom that my mom was the only person to ever give her this type of feedback. After reading other reviews, it appears that I am not the only one who has been made to feel this way.

We have never had a single day of bad service here so we have become regulars anytime we travel into the inner loop of Houston for business or fun. The flavors? My goodness the flavor here in every dish truly speaks to whoever is cooking these incredible dishes! We've even wanted to ask what we can do to even get our dishes at home this amazing! Their bang bang sauce is something you can rave about if you like a little kick to your broccoli. Yum! Luckily a lot of the appetizers are family style but we all still end up battling to finish the last bite before our main dish comes along! My husband has never been a vegetable eater and thanks to the Ginger Mule, we are changing up our dishes at home too! Whatever they are doing here, I hope they keep it up because we absolutely LOVE the food here!! Thank you to everyone here and we can't wait to be back!!!!

We enjoyed a glass or two of wine, tossed some darts, and soaked in the relaxed, unpretentious vibe. It is casual in the right way. An adorable black and white cat who clearly runs the place. Getting to know Posty outside was an unexpected and genuinely charming moment that made the stop memorable. If you are a cat person, this alone will win you over. Even if you are not, it is hard not to smile. Great drinks, darts, friendly energy, and a bar cat that steals the show. It is tiny and packed tight inside, but they do have patio seating as well. Parking is very limited, but you can find street parking nearby. Reservations are highly recommended but walk ins are welcome. We had a few people taking care of us that night and they were all great. I was between a few items and they were very helpful in steering me in the right direction. We started off with a few bottles of wine to get the night started. From what I understand, their wine list is one of the things they are known for. Your only other option for an adult beverage is limited options of canned or bottled beers. I didn't really have a say in the wine we shared, but what we had was delicious and paired nicely with the items we ordered. For starters, we went with the highly recommended bread service. Get this! This bread was so good. I doubt they make it as ordered, but it came out like it was fresh out of the oven. It was a nice crusty bread with a fluffy interior served on a cutting board with a huge smear of miso butter. We then went with the Crispy Cauliflower which was one of my favorite dishes of the night. It was smothered in a gochujang aioli and reminded me of a general tso chicken or something. Very good. Thai Chili Rubs was next and these were so good as well. I'm a sucker for all the Asian flavor profiles and this hit that. For my entree, I ended up with the Pork Chop w/ Chutney. This was a huge chop on a layer of apple sauce and a wonderful chutney that contrasted the sweet sauce. Every layer worked well together. I will say the pork chop was just slightly over cooked, in some parts. It also came with green beans which was cooked just right. No room for dessert as we had another party to head to. Overall, I'm glad my friends picked this spot for their birthday celebration. I am now in the know about this place and will consider coming back in the future.

We went around 6 p.m. on a weekday, and they had a steady flow of business. It's a small restaurant with a small parking lot, but they do have an additional lot across the street. We were greeted right away and seated immediately. Our waiter was also tending the bar. He was incredibly friendly and working hard, but because he seemed to be juggling so much on his own, service was on the slower side. For the appetizer, we ordered the Crispy Fried Oysters & Brussels, and I got the redfish for my entrée. The Brussels sprouts were flash-fried perfectly, and I loved the sweetness of the chili honey glaze. The oysters had a nice crispy coating, but I found them to be a little bland. The redfish, though, was absolutely the star of the meal. I cleaned my plate. It was served with Hoppin' John and a lemon butter sauce. I had never heard of Hoppin' John before, but it's essentially a Southern rice-and-bean dish, and paired with that lemon butter, it was so flavorful. It complemented the fish perfectly.
