I have to disagree with Youwish Y. on this one. I experienced really wonderful customer service by Nestor while I was here. It was my first time at this post office, and I needed to send in a Visa application with my passport in the mailing. Nestor helped direct me which services were best for this type of mailing and since it involved my passport and very personal information, I opted for the Express Mail since I would be able to track it's every movement, and it would be sent over night. It was a bit pricey, but it's the price you pay when mailing government documents. Nestor was very helpful and SOOOOO nice. He almost did all the work for me! I got a money order from them also. Considering they're government workers, I was surprised to get such great service from here - and service with a HUGE smile! Best post office experience I've ever received! read more

I think this is my favorite Post Office location...here's why: Friendly staff- you wouldn't think this was a govt office, almost no wait time. You can buy stamps and send out packages using their self service, free standing device. There's a credit union bank with atm machine (they have the CO-OP logo, so no extra fees :) Additional parking in the back, where the drive thru/drop off mail is located....many more services that I don't use but you should ask. read more

Very disappointed in George, the manager at the Sunflower Ave. Post Office. I went because a certified letter, return receipt never arrived at its destination. George came out of the back room, said "I'm to busy to help you" and turned his back on me and walked away. read more

This is the best post office I have ever been too. Rarely ever a line I'm always Ina s out in a flash. I do a lot of shipping for eBay and I always get comments that it arrived faster then others items they have ordered before. So I you was it there fast this is the one. read more

AMBER ROCKS! Short version....it was imperative that I recieve a package before a certain day.. According to the tracking info, it would go 4-5 days with NO UPDATES and every day I would USPS customer service, stay on hold for hours, and get a disgruntled customer service rep who would say (and I'm paraphrasing) "The system shows it is processing your shipment." or something but couldn't tell me if my package would arrive on time, where in the country it was, etc. Enter AMBER @ the Santa Ana facility who answered immediately (no holding!) and immediately took the tracking info and told me exactly where my shipment was!!! This is the major hub for OC's USPS mail so they have to be the most efficient. They're open late and have the latest drop off times in Orange County. This is location and the one in Irvine on Sand Canyon are the best that I've been to in the OC. I think I've been to almost all of them in Orange County and Inland Empire. The only issue I have is parking...it's bad. They should have a better automated machine with more stamp selection since they are the main location. And I wish the front manager comes out more to help the people in line more. If these issues were resolved then they would get a 5 Star. read more

Tony, Wadie and the business unit staff are 10 stars!! Retail counter folks 5-stars. Retail lobby was very slow today, though (Friday, May 9, 2014, 5:30pm). Wait in line was over 20 minutes. Only 2-3 staff working the counter. Even so, staff were all very pleasant. The lady going around helping people is great!!! I could see that she really changed the attitudes of people just by being there to help out. It's nice to have the little counter to put packages on while waiting. It would be great for us old timers if they could return the benches and go back to using the take-a-number system. Love it. Great experience. 5-stars for USPS. 5-Stars for this USPS location at 3101 W Sunflower Ave Santa Ana, CA 92799. I use this USPS, along with Sand Canyon (Irvine) and Harvest (Irvine). The former two get 5-stars, the latter gets 1-star. As all other USPS's are required, they give you a receipt without even asking you when you pre-print labels at home, as is standard with all post offices. They are extremely friendly and nice. You can tell they are very happy about serving our nations postal service. Hire on more postal workers here though because you guys get busy (sometimes REALLY busy, like out past the door busy), but other then that, very friendly. Excellent staff, love it. read more

someone is stealing mail and white-washing checks at this location. I drop mail off through the drive through mostly and payment were stolen, checks white-washed and fraudulently passed off. Either someone has a master key to the boxes or internal theft. read more

This post office is ridiculous and unprofessional. I scheduled a passport appointment 3 weeks in advance; my husband & I took a day off work. When we got there we were told by the front desk that our appointment was cancelled because the postal worker that does the passports called out sick. I didn't even get a courtesy call, text or email about our cancellation. Then the front desk clerk told us that they would call me back to reschedule and would try to squeeze us in for another appointment during the week. I have yet to this day not receive any call or email, I've called many times no one answers. I've even called the mail postal service to get a hold of them, they've sent a notice to their office still no response. I'm disappointed, my trip is already paid for, all my plans have to be adjusted because of their lack of professionalism. I'm not able to get my passport since everything is booked. read more

2 people gave me the worst pricing there today. The fat guy with grey hair wanted to be a smart ass and told me to bring my own box next time After he charged my card $7.20. "Sorry, we just made a sale so there are no refunds," he said, after I asked him if I could have my money back. ... What could have been $2.50 came out to $7.20 because of 2 ignorant employees giving me unsatisfactory service in their respective roles. I've met wayyyy better USPS employees than this "4 star postal service." I'm going to avoid this place as much as I can. When I have to go inside the actual post office I always look around for my favorite associates, some I keep away because they define the stereotype of the a post office worker but there are a couple I love interacting with. I appreciate how they have changed how they serve the clients now by lining everyone up with the rope system versus the number box. read more

I paid for an expedited passport here. After checking the passport website and calling many times they still hadn't received the paperwork from the post office and I probably wouldn't get the passport in time for my trip. So I went back into the post office to see what was going on and was greeted by the most rude awful woman I've ever met. I then asked for the manager because at this point i was very upset. I paid $275 to get my passport on time and they screwed it up with no apology just a bunch of attitude. read more

I had called in regarding an order that was 2 day priority mail and had to have a signature. It had been 7 days and I saw that it arrived at this post office a few days ago. The woman who I spoke to was very sweet and went to see what she could do. She let me know that the 2 day priority mail is a little deceiving because wherever it is coming from it could take up to 7 days. At each stop, the item has to be signed for so that adds more time. She let me know that I would be receiving it that same day. Great customer service! read more

So maybe her ranting about making an appointment she failed to do her job...the same job I paid for...thanks for delaying my passport further. read more

In my (many) past experiences at the post office, I have noticed most people in there are some what grumpy. Mostly costumers, sometimes staff. Today my day was MADE by an employee at the post office. This review is mostly about Nestor. His attitude is beyond positive and it is contagious! I simply asked him how his day was going and instead of giving me the typical "good and you" reply (that I am guilty of using far too often), his reply was "I am alive, I am healthy, I have a house, a car, a family and a job I come to everyday. I could never complain." On top of the amazing attitude and personality, he was very efficient and helpful. I have never had a smoother experience at the post office. Although this is not the closest post office to my house, I may start coming back here just to get a dose of Nestor's positivity and wonderful work ethic! We all know how tedious a trip to the post office can be sometimes. Do yourself a favor and visit Nestor and your day will not only become easier, your mindset will change! I called this post office 19 times over the last six hours, according to my phone. The phone was answered once, I could hear voices, and I was then hung up on. The other times there was no answer at all, or after a time I got a recorded message saying "all circuits are busy." Great customer no-service. read more

The staff here have no respect to the customer and not friendly. I came in here at 6:59 they close at 7:00. I had my things packaged already and they had a bunch of ppl standing inside the office (about 13) they didn't let me in !! I only had 2 PACKAGED items to go and I made a long drive to come in here. Seriously no respect at all! I also witnessed an older lady who came in 5 min after me with lots of packed items she dragged to the front door. She was exhausted and made a longer drive to come in here. she was also depressed about death news. The guy behind the door refused to accept her or let her in. What a jerk! I understand this place closes at 7 but we didn't come in when there was no one in the office. Plus we came in with our items packaged. It shouldn't take a long time to process that.. another thing that bothered me is that when I called this place before I came in the lady was rude when I asked her about the average price for international shipment. I go here to mail any packages that are urgent and/or important to me. The first reason I started going here is because it is a major "hub" of all of OC, and you cut out time from your local post office by coming here. For me, it is only a 20 min drive from Laguna Beach and right off the 405, near south coast plaza, so I can stop by Nordstrom rack too;) I keep coming here because it is the most efficient post office I have ever been to, and all of the employees are courteous and SMART! There is always a person in the aisle that will handle those in line and tell you the cheapest, most efficient way to send a pkg- even if you think you already know. I don't want to hear about how your locked in a room with 2 million dollars worth of stamps or how you spend your 11 hours a day fielding phone calls. That is your job and not my problem. This place is open on Saturdays which is really convenient! It's a large USPS location and the staff is alway really helpful and friendly. They don't hesitate to answer any question one might have. They also have a self-service kiosk if your ready to go and don't want to wait in line. The Employes are really efficient and get people going so the wait line is usually short. read more

This post office is one of the few around the Orange County area that opens relatively late. I needed to get a package out, but by the time I got out of work, all of the post offices were closed.... except for this one. By closing at 7pm, it allowed me time to travel from my work in Irvine and get there in time to mail out the package. On top of this, the staff member that helped me was very friendly and patient. My wife and I both took time off from work to drop passport renewal application for my child. The passport person was working behind a locked door. No instructions, ticket system, etc. People in waiting area told us to wait until someone comes out and write your name in a list. An hour later, the passport lady shows up and write my name in her list. I show her the application that was already filled up online, printed and ready to submit. . After another hour. a different passport lady (Marlene) shows up, 30 minutes before closing time, telling us that we are the last entry in her list and can't be done today. No explanation or apologies, just saying "I am too busy". We ask her why didn't you inform us 2 hour ago? She just walks away. We talk to a supervisor (Amber) about the situation that we have been waiting 2.5 hours and our application is all ready and shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. Again instead of trying to find a solution or at least apologizing for their screw up, she talks very rude. We don't want our child to see any more of that behavior and we walk away. BTW, we asked Amber if we could talk to her supervisor or general manager. She said "I am the only manager in this post office", which I find it hard to believe. read more

Close at 7pm! How amazing! Probably the only postal office I know ever, that opens this late and believe me they were swamped nonstop! I came here the other day to drop off a package (really late) thinking that I can get it overnight instead. However, that didn't happened. (Make sure you know that their cut off time for next day delivery is at 4:35pm!) A helpful employee there helped me by making sure I got the best deals for what I needed sent out. Since I started my day late, I didn't have time to run around town to get everything done so I googled the nearest post offices and to my delight, they were opened! I love this post office. Drive through drop-off is easy. Late hours so going inside is easy. Went the other night about 6pm and the employees were friendly, helpful and upbeat. What a great experience. Parking can be difficult when it's full, but other than that, I like this post office best. read more
