I want something super plain, that wouldn't look hideous when it grew out, because I rarely get my nails done, and she suggested the ombre which I've never done before, and I love it. My sister wanted something more wild and got the cat eye, which we've never heard of and she also loves it so much, the pictures do not do justice. Her nails are so cool and depending on the lighting the color is green or blue or gray or purple. We both don't live nearby but definitely would make the drive back out in the future. Pedicures typically last between 45min - 60 minutes. This pedicure was done in 16 minutes. I walked in with a 3p appointment at 2:54 and the technician tried to tell me twice that I missed my appt. When I looked at her asking "what?" She realized her error. She had another walk-in in the back room she asked to wait, so she rushed through my appointment in 16 minutes. I told her I usually expect pedicures to span 45-60 minutes and asked how long her pedicures usually go. She told me 30-40 minutes. I let her know this 16 minutes wasn't acceptable. She added a 5 minute leg "massage". Absolute waste of money. Had childcare to treat myself to this "me time". Salt the wound: she over filed my short nails to cause a cut on my big toe. Been looking for a quality salon for a while and finally got to Utopia Nails. Got GelX here twice and it's been perfect every time. The prep is comprehensive and after 3 weeks, my nails never lifted. The tech was super sweet and made sure I was comfortable and that the nails were exactly how I wanted them. If you don't speak mandarin, bring in a picture of the polish and length/shape you want to make it an easier process. They do take their time so expect to be here for 2-3 hours! I got medium length cat eye and it was $100 without tip. Cat eye with holo glitter was $110 without tip. Considering the quality and how long these last, it's worth it for me. As a busy, working parent, carving out time for self-care is incredibly rare. I was really looking forward to a short, much-needed moment of rest, and chose to book a pedicure at Utopia Beauty Salon through ClassPass. I received a confirmation email with a personalized note from the salon stating that the appointment was non-cancellable and non-refundable. So I adjusted my schedule, gave up other obligations, and showed up on time--only to be treated with complete disregard. Upon arrival, I was brusquely told to choose a color with no greeting or warmth, which already felt off. Moments later, two walk-ins arrived, and I was abruptly told by the owner, "Sorry, these two had appointments and I didn't have your phone number through ClassPass to let you know we're overbooked. If you had called us, I would have had your number." I was then told to come back in 90 minutes or the next day. There was a brusque apology, but no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, and certainly no professionalism. There was no offer of a refund of my credits, either. I was stunned. I had a confirmed reservation, made well in advance, and yet I was treated like an afterthought. The suggestion to "come back later" made it clear that the salon had no concern for my time, responsibilities, or experience. It's especially frustrating given that I do not have flexible childcare and planned this carefully. Whether it was because I booked a basic pedicure or used ClassPass, I was made to feel like my time and business didn't matter. If the salon does not want to honor bookings through ClassPass or values only certain services, they should remove those offerings from the platform. I lost 12 ClassPass credits and a rare window of time for myself. I felt completely disrespected and dismissed. I won't be returning and will be sharing this experience with others in the community. read more

I saw this place because I frequent the la fitness here in this plaza and saw the banner for 20% off. I went to check out the yelp page and saw that they had an offer of 30% off for two people. Regular prices are $50 for a gel manicure and $60 for a gel pedicure. I don't get mani/pedi often but prices seem steeper compared to the multitude of nail spots here in the SGV. My friend and I made an appointment online and we arrived promptly. Apparently the the online reservation doesn't even work so they didn't even know appointments were scheduled. Luckily, there were no other customers so they could take us. I enjoyed the mani/pedi and the environment was very cute. Everything is pink including the massage chairs and ceilings. I really liked the cloud lights hanging above. We were the only patrons at the time so care and consideration was excellent. I think they did a great job shaping my nails and I really love them. I stopped by on a weekday evening and was welcomed by the owner who was luckily available to do a manicure and pedicure with Japanese gel and an eyelash perm for me. She was very professional and friendly, and I loved the little reindeer she painted on my nails! She says that she is also able to paint Santa, Christmas trees, and other holiday designs. I was also happy with the results of the eyelash perm (my first one ever). I'm very satisfied with the service I received and would definitely recommend to others. I mean, if you can't get a mani/pedi right, it's an indication to steer clear. So for the services, regular mani/pedi: Manicure: ZERO soaking. ZERO massage. ZERO hot towel. ZERO lotion. ZERO cuticle oil. The clean up was minor. The nails were filed and left so thin you'd think I had acrylics on before the service. I didn't say anything while she did it because usually when a place does this, it's because they apply a nail hardener, NOT HERE. Regular nail polish & not good quality. OPI bottle but taken to the back to add thinner resulting in a streaky uneven mess. Pedicure: No ingrown nail/excess skin removal despite being instructed to do so. Once you don't take instructions on the 2nd time, I don't push you because at the end of the day, I'm don't want to walk out with bloodied feet since you likely don't know how to. Uneven trim/shape and the opposite of manicure, not enough filing. Same issue with polish. read more

I needed a gel Mani and regular pedicure. I have specific needs for my pedicure due to my nails curving excessively and my skin gets thick. The charged me an extra $15 to remove what they called "in grown" nails. My regular nail lady never charges me extra she just cuts my toenails properly every time. They caused me pain and within a week of the pedicure I was in pain again. Also within a week my manicure chipped in several spots. When I returned to my regular nail lady, she took out so much overgrown skin and nail from my toes ( very painful by the way) and claimed the last pedicure was done very poorly. I've been absolutely dying for a nail salon to open in this shopping center so I was super excited when I saw this place pop up last month. The aesthetic is super cute and instagramable. I loved the pink furniture, clouds and paper flowers (sorry I didn't get a pic this time!) I got a gel pedicure and a gel manicure with designs on all fingers. Overall the girls were super nice and did a great job. I love that they have a lot of special gel polishes (my toes have that sparkly gel polish that reflects flash and my fingers have a lot of transparent colors). And I love that they do designs (see the picture of my fingers!!) Downsides are mostly from them being so new. They didn't have very many regular nail polish colors so I ended up getting gel on my toes just for more selection. They also were a little short staffed. I expect those things will resolve themselves when they're past the soft opening and they didn't bother me so I'm not taking off a star. I'll definitely be returning. read more
