What a location! This place is right on the water at Ocean Park and it was one of my mom's regular spots. Its a small restaurant and hotel, not a resort or anything like it, but it has a cozy warm feeling that would entice anyone to choose to stay here. Of course, since its in a neighborhood and without any of the resort services, you'd need a car and to know your way around. If not, then you can come to the restaurant and stay somewhere else. It has tables inside and on the sand so you can come from home for a meal, or step in from the beach in your bathing suit and have a drink and appetizers, which used to be our case. It has pretty good food. Goat cheese croquettes are incredible and the red sangria is delicious. read more

Awesome room- priceline price -80$ and such a nice and courteous receptionist! Friend and I decided to stay here on our last night in PR- and what a perfect choice! Right in front of the beach, on a beautiful amazing day!!!!!!!!!!! We got picked up here to go on a tour to el Yunque. Just be careful if you plan on hanging out all night on the beach- my friend and I were itchy all over the next day & for a few weeks. According to google: sand fleas are common on the beach after rain, and yes, our dummy heads didn't think of this. Nevertheless, I would do it again, 1,000 times over! read more

My GF had heard a lot about this place so we checked it out last weekend. First off, if you're driving there from anywhere besides Ocean Park, get ready to be incredibly frustrated. We drove from Caribe Hilton in SJ, missed our turn according to google maps (highway signs are NOT labeled the same as google maps) so we took the next turn. We ended up making some guesses on turns and ended up facing a lot of one way streets. When we finally got close, we noticed that all the side streets to access the beach area were completely barricaded off. It was weird - almost as if it prevents non-residents of that area from accessing the beach. We eventually found a security gate area that let us in and we finally found the place! The place is situated beautifully. To truly enjoy the experience, go before sunset to enjoy the beach setting. We went at dark, unfortunately, but it was still nice being on the beach. The place does get a little windy so keep that in mind. We tried the fried dumplings for appetizers and I was not a big fan. I saw some positive yelp reviews, but it was the first time I had fried dumplings. Second, my GF ordered the Kurobuta (how often do you get to try a rare breed of pork!) and I ordered the rib eye medium rare. The rib eye was nice but it was huge. I really enjoyed the risotto/gorgonzola - really yummy. The Kurobuta was nice but very fatty and sat on a huge piece of polenta. I thought the food was pretty good but the portions were too big, in my opinion. Service was really good and the drinks were really yummy. The two reviews on here are for the restaurant mostly, but my girlfriend and I were here just for the night. Our standby tickets bumped us an extra night in San Juan, so we needed a place to stay fast. The employee on duty, Angel, was extremely friendly and helpful and was able to accomodate us and went above and beyond to make us comfortable and happy. You don't ever get service like this, anywhere. We stayed in the cheaper room, around $120 or so, there were others that faced the ocean which would have been awesome but we wanted to limit our expenses since we were already over budget. Room was clean, quiet, everything worked. No disturbances. There's a Dell netbook computer in the lobby so if you need internet access it's free of charge. I would recommend this place to anyone. This restaurant sits on the beach of island Puerto Rico; end of the island in a closed community. Main courses dressed as beautiful as the appetizers. I wish I could give 0 Stars for this hotel. Myself and my wife came here on vacation for our Honey moon. We received a room that was dirty. It looked as if the room was cleaned by my two year old. Upon asking for a refund so I can go to another hotel I was denied. They at that time asked to give us a different room where we agreed. We went to the second room and place our items in the room, I sat on the couch and was bit on my back by some sort of bug. I took my wife and checked into another hotel. And was still denied a refund from this hotel. Do not stay in this hotel its not what you think. read more

Great Drinks, but definitely not the cheapest option around Ocean Park. Tried the Uvva Mojito, Dragon Mojito and the Gin&Tonic. All were delicious. Didn't really come for food but they had good options and everything looked delicious as it came out. Would recommend you stop in since it's one of the few spots right on the beach at Ocean Park. The execution of the food is not up to the price although the quality seemed fresh. We had the Fritter Sampler, which was a bunch of fried stuff with little meat and way too expensive for what we got. Ceviche - thinly sliced fish instead of cubed fish that I'm used to seeing. It wasn't marinated in the liquid long enough so was lacking flavor...but at least the fresh tasted fresh. Chef Salad - basically a spinach salad which was probably the best thing we ate... The food is great and is right on the beach. You can seat in a table in the sand, in the restaurant with a water view or outside. It has a full bar with a chill spot. Very very relaxing place to eat or drink. I did not stay overnight, so i cant rate the rooms. Great for a couples retreat or someone just looking for a relaxed spot. We stayed at this hotel during our visit to PR and only enjoyed drinks here but the food smell ed delicious. The staff is fairly quick with your orders and people came in frequently from outside the hotel to eat. The dining area is small and has a great view of the ocean as the waves crash into the sea wall below the windows. read more

You can't have a better location for a restaurant. It's also hard to find slower service. At one point we weren't sure anyone was even in the restaurant. Also, they allow dogs, a plus or a minus depending on whether you like them. The only thing consistent about the food is how inconsistent it came out. Don't expect silverware or napkins unless you ask. Vegetarian options available. Coffee was good. Tacos were too. Would come back for the view and location - might order food. Excellent restaurant. Staff was courteous and helpful. Food was great. We were here for lunch aftwr getting off a cruise ship. We had one more night on the island and Uvva was suggested to us by the check in staff at Tres Palmas Inn. We had the sautéed calamari, a side salad and the Fettuccini Carbonara. They were all excellent. Perfect flavors and all fresh vegetables. The view is amazing. Loved watching the wind surfers and kite surfers. read more

Impossible to find had to call to get directions. No parking so you have to search around for one, found one two blocks away. Restaurant was empty and it took more than 1/2 hour for our appetizer which was a joke. We ordered fried calamari and received 8 pcs. If they were big I wouldn't complain but they were the size of a 1/2 dollar coin. I ordered a mofongo (mashed plantains) with skirt steak, steak was chewy and a small portion. My hubby had the same but with shrimps. His tasted better but the same small portion. For dessert we shared an amaretto flan again the portion was small about 3" long x 2" wide and didn't taste like amaretto. Totally overpriced. The only good thing about the place is the view. We will miss having breakfast by the ocean every morning at Uvva. We stayed just around the corner on our last visit to PR in part because we were so close to Hosteria del Mar. My wife fell in love with this place on our previous visit. The service is always super friendly and the breakfast items are very good and reasonably priced. Our son loved running on the sand while we took tuns enjoying our coffee. When at Uvva, life is good! read more

I loved being on the beach, our room was good and clean, but there was one major negative to this place ... no hot water! I am not a very picky person, when I see many people review hotels I often ignore 99% of them because I think ... I've stayed in major dives in Latin America and Eastern Europe so I am not very picky or high maintance. However, it was quite annoying becaues the are an "eco friendly" hotel which, when it comes to water, means they heat there water with solar power. One day the water was feezing and one day they had to let us go to another room because there was literally no water coming from the pipes. I guess when I pay over $200 for a hotel room I expect that they don't skimp on the price to heat water. I want to come back to the Ocean Park area but I won't come back here. read more

I'm giving them 3 stars but really in my in-meal angst, I would like to give them 2. Amazing atmosphere right on the beach, delicious food but terrible service... And I mean terrible! Upon walking in, not one employee acknowledged us. They walked by us as if we were invisible so we made he assumption that we seat ourselves. We then sat there for fifteen minutes straight without anyone coming over to us. They just kept walking by us and helping other tables. We finally got the menu and didn't receive water for another fifteen minutes.. A half hour before getting anything on the table. Then waited another ten minutes to order. Then when we were done with our meal (which I'm sitting here right now writing this)... They didn't come to our table for 20 (and counting) minutes. We have clearly finished our meal and even semi-bussed our table. No check... Just waiting. Not sure if they're just understaffed but there seems to be no genuine desire to offer solid service here. I guess being on the beach gives them a free ticket to be lazy. It's a shame because they have the capability to get 5 stars if their service didn't force you to have hours to spend sitting down. read more

First time was 12/29/16. We arrived at around 9:30. Place was packed, one fabulous table overlooking the ocean was available. Magical evening, seafood linguine was delicious. Server Barbara was amazing. Everything was. FIVE STARS for the first night. Came back on 12/30, same time. Empty except for one table. Requested that we order immediately as they were closing soon. Ordered, 45 minutes later, bad food that we did not eat. Wish we had not gone back. Three stars generous for the second night. Consistency is so important. Giving them a pass because New Years Eve is celebrated on 12/30. Wish we had known. Would have gone into Old San Juan were all the parting was happening. read more

This spot was not only gorgeous but had the best food we had in Puerto Rico in the time that we were there. It was slightly hidden in a tucked away corner, but it was easy to get to and a beautiful location. Right off the beach with a beautiful view while you're eating. Our waitress was amazing: attentive and helpful, but not hovering. The mayo pesto was a delicious dipping sauce too! Located just off the beach, I only came to this place to order a mixed drinks. This place is pretty expensive for one drink, even a Corona was pretty pricey. You might be better off waiting for any number of "corona/water" guys that go up and down the strip of beach with $2 Coronas. The service here was so so. The decor (in the back) is very nice, and I love the color blue they used. They also have your usual lounge chairs so you can soak up the sun on the beach while drinking your beverage. read more

Lovely atmosphere, we come here every time we are in town. Sad to see the beach has completely eroded away and has limited the outdoor seating due to sea spray. The food here is good, but it's more about the atmosphere. We had a Gustazo for here and we added an amazing shrimp and bechemel ball appetizer and a bottle of champagne. Really cool location. But food (appetizer + soup) took over 40 minutes and then they tell me (after 40 mins of waiting) that they are out of the appetizer I ordered. I told them I'll just take the soup and the cheque. They come back and tell me the appetizer is now available. Visit if you have a ton of time and money to spare. Seems understaffed too. Cocktail I had was eh. Soup and appetizer weren't hot enough. Water wasn't even served. There are cheaper, tastier and faster places close by! read more

Uvva is the worst restaurant I have been. The servers are incompetent and negligent, and the chef must be the worst one in whole PR. The fish we ordered was overcooked and therefore tasteless. The waiter brought the wine and bread to the table after we finished the main dish. Maybe the owners of this place believe that having a view to the beach compensate a horrible food and service experience. read more
