First time here and I honestly believe I will come back next month. I had a great experience here with being greeted at the door and it was a bit cold in the morning and the man who took my order didn't hesitate to close the door knowing that I'd be cold sitting in there. I had a different man who brought me my food and he too showed so much compassion and asked me how my food was. Both men who were working there came to my table more than once. I ordered the French toast, sunny side up, bacon, and hot chai latte. French toast was a solid 4/5. The toast wasn't as thick as I'd like it but it did have a good after taste. Eggs were over hard not over easy and definitely not sunny side up like I requested. I'd give them 4/5 for the effort. The eggs weren't large eggs either. The syrup on the table was very thin and watery. The two butters I got with my meal were to cold to melt and maybe the refrigerator is to high where they are stored. The bacon was 5/5 and I loved every piece I got. The bacon tasty; no cutting corners quality of meat. Chai latte smelled so good and tasted delicious and this is where it gets tricky but I'm going to give it a 3/5 because it wasn't strong and the smell of it was light. It was beautiful inside and very clean. If I ever owned a small restaurant, I'd like it to look like this. I definitely recommend coming here. Cost of food was worth it. read more

Found another gem. We went to our usual spot in the area, but had to leave because the wait was extremely long. We are not from the area, so we didn't know about other cafes. Luckily, our navigation app took us through this street and the rest is history. Lol Thank you to the amazing staff for making us feel like regulars. I like the cafe so much, we will have to make it our new favorite place. We tried a breakfast croissant with a side of house potatoes. We also tried the ranchero breakfast burrito, which was absolutely delicious. And just for fun, we tried their peanut butter pancakes. Can't say how delicious everything was. I highly recommend this cafe. Just try to go when I'm not there so that I can get to my delicious meal quicker. :))) read more

Usually I don't write reviews because I'm usually a go with the flow kind of person, but I feel this is necessary for this restaurant to be called out. I even gave them a chance to do what's right and got attitude! I drive by this restaurant often, and went online to look at their menu. Couldn't find a website and Yelp's menu is a few years old. So... I called the restaurant and politely asked if they have a website to get their menu. I'm immediately told, "no website, go look at the menu on Yelp." When I mentioned the menu was very outdated on Yelp, I got, "It's almost the same, maybe we added a chicken sandwich or another thing. The prices are a little different now though." Still being nice I said, "oh, if you're directing people to Yelp, why don't you go on there and post your most recent menu?" Well, I shit you not, I was told, "you can come in and take a photo yourself and do that." Say whaaat??? So here's the thing that is very clear, this restaurant doesn't want to post their current menu anywhere because the prices are like $5 more on some items than what's on Yelp. They want to play the bait and switch game. Direct you to Yelp with lower prices where you'll think you'll be getting something for $12.99, when you come in and it's actually $17.99! The food here is quite good, but pricey. The sausage was amazing, possibly homemade. Really excellent. The lox and bagel was "meh"; nothing bad but nothing memorable either. Service was slow; they may be understaffed. It seemed like a long time before we even got acknowledged and a server came over to us. We are grandparents and clearly much older than the rest of the clientele. One word of caution: parking is behind the building, off a poorly marked alley. Yes! This place is actually perfect! Perfect parking, perfect coffee, perfect food, perfect people. It's just an all around great place. It's smaller but when we came on a weekend it wasn't super crowded. The service was so friendly every single person there was so welcoming and helpful. The food was fast and you could tell it was really fresh. We had a build your own omelette and steak and eggs. All cooked perfectly and well seasoned. We both had vanilla lattes and I could tell they use really high quality beans. For a casual brunch this is your best place. We'll for sure be back! read more

My coworker and I stopped here for breakfast before our return to the office, cute little place not a lot of tables but that just meant there was more distancing. The hot chocolate was good but had a bjt of that bitter after taste, still good but a little disappointed. I had the Eggs Florentine which was fantastic, the hollandaise was so good and just that perfect texture. Plenty of spinach which suits my taste and well cooked egg. My only set back on this dish was the potatoes. They're big and I love that but they had no taste. Salt and pepper were all needed and even some yolk. While I don't mind adding that stuff I prefer for it all to be well seasoned as part of the dish. Parking is tricky here, it's all street parking. So just be aware if you're coming with a small group. read more

My child and I are trying out local places every Saturday morning and today we set our sights on V Boulevard Cafe. This is a nicely decorated small restaurant that's probably a well-kept secret by the people who live in the area. There's a sign for parking behind, but the open spaces weren't ones I could shove a minivan in and then you're in to the neighborhoods with limited parking. The curb out front is painted for short (30m) stops, so plan to park a block ahead or behind, or across the street because this is a nice place to linger and enjoy your food. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I have the french toast which was really great and a very nice vanilla latte. My child had the make-your-own sandwich and hot chocolate that they really liked. Mine came with sausage (rich and flavorful) and eggs (I had "over hard" and would try a different method next time) and theirs came with hashbrowns. We both agreed that next time we'd definitely order them crispy as they were very soft and we left them behind. It was $47 + tip for the two of us. That felt a little bit high, but maybe that's just the state of things these days, and the food was good, the restaurant was pleasant and the service was great, and it's a small local business, so maybe that's an OK price? If I would give them one piece of advice - for part of our visit there was instrumental music in the front of the house and different music playing loudly in the kitchen. It was distracting while trying to converse. I didn't have a problem with either music, but maybe pick one. I would definitely try more of their menu, perhaps a future breakfast date with my wife. read more

Lively, energetic cafe with a number of fun options: Which way to go? Bennies? Waffles? Pancakes? Omelettes? While fairly closeby, I swung over based on all the reviews and ratings. Based on one visit, I'd say it's a solid four stars. OK, I do wish I had seen the Parking in Back sign before I paralleled my way into a street spot. Limited to 30 minutes, you're on your own...but consider their private lot for less stress and more parking. I will say that the Black Coffee I had here was fine, but maybe not my favorite. I couldn't tell if it's cause I don't love the blend, or if the coffee maker was a bit dirty OR if the added grit to the coffee was a result to possibly being some version of Armenian coffee...? It worked well enough for me to ask for a refill, but I wasn't in love with the Joe. I much preferred the Multigrain Pancakes that came with my choice of eggs (poached, perfectly) and the bacon I selected. The pancakes have a little texture to them, and I picked up on what seemed to feel and taste a bit nutty. This was good. I thought I'd only eat two of the three, but dang, I ate them all! The syrup was decent: Not maple, but not the watered down diner syrup. I enjoyed my breakfast. SO many things to choose from, I do hope to come back again soon. read more

Found this hidden gem in Glendale. Have been living here for the past 30 years, passed by this place hundreds of times, and finally decided to give it a try. Took my kids and mom for lunch and I can tell you that I am actually hooked. The place itself is very very clean, nicely designed and cozy. Plenty of parking in the back and on the street. Service: The staff was extremely friendly and responsive. Preparation and serving of the food was pretty fast notwithstanding the fact that they were really busy. The food: No matter where I go, I always look to see if they have a pastrami sandwich since I really like pastrami and want to compare with other restaurants. The sandwich was really good and I would probably give 4.5 out of 5. My kids got other sandwiches and a matcha pancake which was actually really good.
