Let me begin by saying that I am a first-time reviewer. Not because I have nothing to say. I have often (okay, always) check Yelp to get a feel for goods, services and restaurants. However, nothing that I have found on Yelp made me register to review like VMaids. I will begin my review by saying that I have ridiculously high standards for the cleanliness of my home ( thank you, Mom) and have been told by more than one person that I am OCD. I am the person who puts the iPod in on a Saturday morning, and rocks out for 4 hours, cleaning and cleaning and rocking and cleaning. That being said, I had low expectations for VMaids, but thought, you know what? I cannot keep up anymore. So I thought I would give them a shot - what's the worst that could happen? I'll clean tighten up what they don't do. They were so good. Not me - but so good. So good that after their first visit, I am booking them monthly. They are reasonable - and I've had the polish cleaning lady - twice. This company does a MUCH better job. I have referred a friend and cannot say enough about them. Here's what they've done well. In my 3-floor townhome (4, really but the top floor is full of toys and off-limits), 2 BR, 2.5 bath, kit, liv, din, ground floor office (stand alone), I came home to something I would expect of myself working 4 hours on a Saturday. Seriously. These women are no joke. They did the ceiling fans. They moved lamps and cleaned the cushions (I know, I could tell), they moved the rugs, even I can't get my floors quite so perfect. I'm telling you, I can't say enough. And I'm crazy about my clean. Are they the same when they do an empty apt? I don't know. What I know is what they did here and what they did here will bring them back. read more

I had a mixed experience. The first time I used V Maids, I thought they did a terrific job. My house never looked cleaner. I booked them a month later, however, and they sent a relatively new girl who didn't seem to know what she was doing. The apartment looked okay, but wasn't great. V-maids are my weekly cleaning girls and I love them! I do wish they would deeper clean sometimes, but they will do anything you ask for so it's my own fault for not leaving notes. Veronika, the owner is wonderful to deal with. I'm surprised to see bad reviews, I've used them for over a year and only had one bad cleaning which the owners fixed immediately. I used V Maids for the first time today after finding them on Yelp. I needed them to come in and do a top to bottom cleaning so that I can keep up with it as we go. I contacted Veronika the owner by phone and left a voice mail and within 10 minutes she returned my call. She was very pleasant and friendly and I got an appointment for the next day. I have a 3 bedroom 1 bath house with a basement but did not need the basement cleaned. I was told that the first time usually takes 2 hours and was quoted $80. Two women showed up 10 minutes early and got right to work. Let me say that my house was completely organized to begin with and just needed a cleaning no dishes or clutter to pick up. All in all they did a pretty good job. Some places weren't done as thoroughly as I would have liked but then again no one is going to clean your house as well as you can, I just don't have the time or the energy. They finished after an hour and 40 min and I was still charged for 2 hours but whatever, they did the job that was to be done. I was told that any subsequent visits would be $60 for 1.5 hours which is great. So for the price and for not having to do it myself I'd say it was a bargain. If your house is really dirty or you are super anal you may want to look elsewhere, but if you just want a generally thorough cleaning in a short amount of time and don't want to spend a ton, I would recommend this service. I would give 3 stars on the cleaning but I gave 4 because of the great price to have my entire house cleaned all at once and not having to bust my butt to do it all while listening to a crying baby. read more

I just had my first cleaning by V Maids, and I'm VERY impressed! For less than $100 they did a fabulous job on our rather nasty 950 square foot condo. Seriously. Our place was nasty. I've been wandering around trying to find an area they missed, and I can't find anything! I want to let you all know that the service is good; however they charge an extra $5 fee for accepting a credit card. In this day and age who does that? What company passes on a $5 fee to the customer when they are probably only being charge a 2% fee. They also charged $8 for parking when there was free parking right in front of my building on the weekend, maybe they don't read the signs? I will not use again as other maid services are more affordable and happily accept credit cards. read more

extremely poor availability. say goodbye to impromptu cleanings even though they are a "big" company. quality of cleanings varied between maids and different girls came each time. they also had major attitudes, never came with a smile. and they talked the whole time to each other. they would go super slow for the last 1/2 hour to make it stretch to 2 full hours. never again. read more

We've been using VMaids for monthly cleaning of our home for nearly five years now and really appreciate their help. A pair of maids comes to our place, and it's usually the same two, which is good so that I don't need to go over the particulars each time. However, it's a career field with a fair amount of turnover, so the crew tends to change about once a year, not too bad. (One of the maids has been coming to our place for 2.5 years though, so that's great.) They have been quite flexible when we need to make changes to our cleaning schedule and are prompt & professional in responding to requests. The maids have always arrived on time. We've had occasional issues with something not being cleaned the way we like, but the maids have been responsive when I ask them to make changes. We have a dog and they have been patient about sweeping up pet hair. The cleaning itself has been thorough. Sometimes they miss something or we find dust here or there, and a little part of me wishes the cleaning were just a smidgen more sparkly or something . . . but that's human nature, always wishing for more. VMaids has stood the test of time for us--we tried a couple other services before them that did not clean as well and were less reliable. read more

Paid for deep cleaning $150 I have 2 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms, living room and kitchen. Left something undone in every room. My room all they did was dust, Kitchen left coffee pot on stove dirty, washed 4 cookie sheets-one had to be re-washed, living room didn't wipe down couch , my bathroom left toothpaste splattered on the the toothbrush holder. I used these guys for more than 2 years about 6 times per year-job was always excellent. This time when I called-he defended the crappy job that was done. Offered them to come back out-really i was to micromanage these 2 ( that look about 18) to clean properly? I'm feeling ripped off, and then disappointed that the owner kept defending them. What's crazy in the past I have called telling what an excellent job the others had done before-so he knew I don't normally complain. My experience with V Maids was not positive. I had an appointment set up for 10:30am and at 10:45am finally received a phone call saying they were running late and would be there in 10 minutes more than 10 minutes passed and I was still waiting but when they showed up they seemed like two very nice individuals who were ready to get to work. They cleaned fast, but after walking around my apartment after they were finished I can tell why they got done really fast; they didn't clean everything they were asked to or they just took a cloth and wiped it off quickly. My tables and floors were barely touched and had dust/dirt still all over them, I have no idea what they were doing with their time. The worst part was that I went to get into my shower after I finished work that day only to find the shower door was broken off and no one had informed me of this. I had to call my handy man to come fix it which cost me more money! I don't know if it was an off day, but if you are going to break something please let the owner know. Because of this experience I would not recommend you use their service. read more

I've used VMaids for years, and this last time I noticed a few of my jewelry items were gone following their cleaning. I had just seen these pieces the day before the cleaning so know they were there. When I reported it to Vaclav, he became very defensive and said he can guarantee the maids did not steal anything from me due to the consequences associated with doing this and that no incidents of stealing had been reported in the past 17 years when I did see someone report theft last year on Yelp. He took no interest in knowing specifically what was missing or what these items looked like until I offered up the information just defended his maids and made me feel like I was falsely accusing his maids of stealing. I'm not sure how he could guarantee this when he wasn't there and does not seem open to any feedback provided regarding theft. I will not use this service again, as my trust has been lost. read more

I'm in my 20's living in the west loop (2 bed, 2 bath) and had a new roommate moving in. My apartment was already in pretty good shape, but needed a good deep clean. After doing some research, they had the best prices for a professional cleaning service coupled with great reviews. Natalie and a co-worker came to my apartment to clean and were SO nice and SO friendly. They arrived a little early and were extremely laid back as I figured out the parking situation. I was working out of my apartment while they were there, and they were so respectful and efficient. I would definitely trust them with a key next time. When they were done, I said I'd like to pay with credit card and she said that it was no problem, just to call Veronica with the number. The man I spoke to on the phone was already incredibly friendly. My place looks absolutely fantastic for a 2 hour clean ($80 + tip). I've been using V Maids for over a year now, for monthly cleanings, and I've been very pleased. It's not always the same crew, but the level of cleanliness has nevertheless been consistent from month to month, and I've never had a single problem. The day before each scheduled cleaning, Vaclav sends a reminder email letting me know when the crew will arrive. Communication with Vaclav around scheduling, what's included or not included, payment, etc, is very professional and clear. The crews have always arrived on time--sometimes they even come early!--and they bring their own supplies which is a huge plus for me. Rates are very competitive, especially if you sign up for recurring cleanings; you do pay for their parking if applicable. One great thing is that you can use Chase QuickPay (very convenient). V Maids is the third cleaning service I've used in Chicago, and they have been the best of the three. read more

Here I go again. I am a "tough consumer" and I take the reviews of services very seriously. And I know I gush about this firm so it would be easy to discount my review as being too over the top. But folks...they literally just left, and I found myself wanting to get on the computer and say it one more time! First, they are always prompt to arrive, usually early, etc. Second, not only are they courteous, but they will kindly do anything additional I am concerned about (dusting blinds, wiping out oven, refrigerator.) The clean smell in my house is not a cover up fragrance; it is the smell of the deepest clean in every nook and cranny! Oh my, what a treat this is to give yourself (or your Mom, sister, girlfriend, guy friend, etc! Elderly parents would love this cleaning, because it is "old school" and done to perfection.) I've said this before, but they organize our stuff and the place always looks a million times less cluttered, and kind of like a showplace, even though we don't have that kind of home or possessions! The bathrooms are to die for...you know what I am talking about. WOW. I love this company, and cannot recommend them highly enough. read more
