im a first time mom, who doesnt have much time for myself. I'm not a very good cleaner but I try my best. I finally broke down and decided I'm going to hire someone to just clean. I was thinking that maybe that would be a great start for me to continue the cleaning from then on or for at least a month. But the 2 maids did a great job. They came in on time and finished in 2 hours. My bathroom, kitchen, dining room and living room have never looked so clean. My wife and I work long hours and with our second child on the way (over two years ago) we decided it was time to take away some of the burden of keeping our house clean, so we started looking into services. After price comparisons and lots of reading reviews we decided to go with VMaids. Two years later we are still very satisfied customers! Veronika is excellent about scheduling and has been very flexible when we need to cancel/reschedule or even add an extra cleaning in preparation for a party or guests coming to stay! The ladies that come are very courteous and thorough. They are regularly within the expected time and Veronika will call if there is any sort of unexpected delay. I am always satisfied with the work they do, and I can be rather picky with these sorts of things. I occasionally will feel like I need to make special requests for them to focus on an area (i.e. our master bathroom shower), and am happy when I do, because there are times when I it's not cleaned as thoroughly as I would have liked. But like I said I can be picky about these sorts of things. All in all I'm very happy with the service, and would recommend them to someone looking for a cleaning service. read more

I have been using V Maids for the last 3 months, and I must say, I could not be happier with their services. The cost is very competitive and reasonable, for all of the work that is done, scheduling is quick and easy (I usually email) and responses are very quick. I have never been home, when the cleaners arrive, so I usually buzz them in and I have never felt like I cannot trust them. They always show up on time and there isn't a better feeling than coming home after a long work day, to an amazingly clean apartment. I've used other cleaning services in the past and my move to VMaids was a good call. I appreciate the ease of doing business with them. The owner, Vaclav is as invested in providing a good experience for his customers as much as I want one. The 2 ladies who clean my house are the same as were originally dedicated to my house from the beginning, a year ago. My experience with previous cleaning services have a high level of turnover and there always was an excuse why things couldn't work out easily/smoothly/timely etc. Vaclav must be doing something right behind the scenes to make an equitable experience for them, which I greatly appreciate and expect. If I had a word to describe the service, I'd say - Consistency. My house is cleaned to the same high standard every month. I get the same "clean house" smell the minute I walk into the door. I know I can walk through any room and find things polished, cleaned and largely undisturbed. The process of setting up the cleanings and means of payment is seamless and worth it. V maids are incredible. Every time I use their service, I just come home and walk around my apartment in utter amazement at how clean everything looks and smells. The last time they came over, I had a small wine stain on my carpet that was miraculously removed without me even asking. They never skip over anything, and I have never come home to broken or stolen items as some of the other reviews have stated. Before they came over the first time, my microwave was seriously filthy, but after they left it was gleaming like it was brand new. There are certain things I think one can rationally expect from a cleaning service. I would expect that they charge according to an agreed upon service and spend enough time to provide such service as a start. I was consistently charged for two maids for 1.5 hours regardless of the state of my home. I was told this was the minimum time and payment so I agreed to it assuming they would stay for 1.5 hours and I would get the service for which I paid. The following is the services I did not get: 1. Never wiped down the baseboards 2. Rather than picking things off of the glass to dust, they dusted around it (and in front of me with no shame). 3. Never cleaned the shelf in my bathroom 4. Never dusted the top of the refrigerator 5. Never dusted bedroom shelves 6. Did not fully clean the floors What I did receive: 1. Broken piece of art from Africa with no note or apology 2. Broken stove top grate with no note or apology 3. Chipped coffee table with no note or apology 4. Excuses from the guy that answers the phone My favorite experience was when they showed up at 8:15am and one lady said parking was terrible so she needed to go back out and park the car. She was gone for a half hour. I walked outside at one point and there were visibly five parking spots wide open in front of my building but no sign of her. She came back at 8:45 and my doorman called me at 9:15 when both ladies left. I was charged for 2 maids for 1.5 hours. And, yes, Vaclav, I purposely asked my doorman to keep watch because the service was consistently indicative that I was paying for services I was not receiving. If the minimum cost is 2 maids for 1.5 hours, they should stay and clean for 1.5 hours. I also appreciated that when I needed to cancel unexpectedly because I was in the hospital, they would not accommodate me because I did not give them 48 hour notice. Yet, they cancelled on me/never showed up twice. Cannot wait for the excuses to follow up this post. read more

Positives: able to squeeze my home in at practically the last minute (called day before needed service). Lady on phone and 2 ladies who came were very nice n patient and kind to my 2 yr old who kept trying to talk with them during cleaning Negatives: slight language barrier; not as thorough as id hoped for kitchen counter (our granite is very good at camouflaging dirt/food particles) and orange soap scum left on bathroom tile, i was able to get it off myself with a bit more elbow grease than i wouldve liked. They were here for 2.5hrs, from the looks of other reviews, seems like we were charged more for some reason, maybe because of last min scheduling?i'll be calling vmaids soon... I recently moved out my apartment and did not want to do the cleaning that I felt was necessary to insure that I would get my deposit back. I spoke with a few companies to get price quotes and they came in from $150 to $268 to clean a studio apartment moveout. $150 was the highest that I was willing to pay, but they would not bring and equipment or supplies citing sanitary issues. I made one more sweep of the Yelp reviews and called V Maids. I was quoted $91 to $108 and scheduled immediately. They brought their own equipment and supplies. Since I wanted the windows, blinds and kitchen cabinet shelves cleaned I had to leave a step stool for them to use. No problem. Seriously. When I was on the phone with the company that quoted $268, I laughed and said you have to be kidding me. The person replied well you get what you pay for. Ha! Was she wrong!! My housecleaner did a FANTASTIC job and I couldn't be happier with the results. I highly recommend V Maids for your cleaning needs, be they a moveout, weekly, bi-weekly or once a month. read more

I used them for years but the past few months every time them come to clean something of value goes missing. I am disappointed because they did a good job but I really miss my sunglasses and my camera. They broke my lamp which they paid for but the bowl from Prague that I found broken after they cleaned my apartment while not expensive was irreplaceable. I have been using VMAIDs for the last 1.5 years. They have never missed an appointment, always arrived on time, been flexible when I had a change in schedule or required and extra cleaning, always send reminders (which I find very helpful!). The manager is always very responsive if I am looking to add/change a cleaning service. Most importantly the ladies who come to my house do a fantastic job. My daughter is generally home when they come and they are so sweet with her and work around whatever her schedule is that day. read more

We hired vmaids to do a move-out cleaning of our apartment. They were very friendly and did an excellent job! We were only able to stay for the first 15 minutes, but they had no problem locking up on their way out and left everything in excellent condition. Good price/value and responsive, but the maids that showed up were not adept at English - I would say "familiar" rather than "fluent". They worked hard and did a good job unsupervised (I went out for lunch) and were very appreciative for the tip. I pointed out a few minor things at the final inspection and they addressed them quickly without asking for more money. Based on Yelp reviews I scheduled a cleaning with this company. I requested a deep clean and paid roughly $100 for two people for two hours and my place looks like I spent two hours cleaning it by myself. Not sure where the disconnect came in but I will never be using this service again. They did not clean the fridge out, they didn't dust the bevels in the doors (as one reviewer claimed), the floors looked like they had been swept but not cleaned. I was very disappointed. read more

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!! I decided to look for a cleaning service to clean my apartment after I moved out. I knew I would be exhausted between packing and unpacking and with work and grad school wrapping up. I called Veronika and she was great. Two ladies came promptly at 8:00 am on Memorial Day (working on a holiday? Thank you ladies!!!). They were amazing. The place has never looked so clean. They worked their butts off and finished a top to bottom clean of a 3 story coach house in 3 hours. It was sparkling. They even apologized for not being able to get the basement carpets cleaner, but they had been soaked in a flood and needed to be replaced anyway and was more likely a result of my crummy vacuum than their efforts. The crew was incredibly professional and again, worth EVERY penny, which ended up being $140 for 3 hours. I am considering booking them on a monthly basis to do a once over on the new place. read more

I used this service about 5 times. Once, they sent a maid who was afraid of dogs, even though they knew I had one. Once they lost my check. Another time the maids forgot to take the check I set out. Another time the maids left their shoes at my place, and when I told them to pick them up the next time, they took my shoes instead. The owner is very friendly and was always apologetic. But, I can't see using them again, as it seems like they are always screwing something up. Also, the cleaning wasn't that good. Seems like all the good maids go off on their own. read more

These folks are terrific. The cleaning team is professional, trustworthy and personable. I have been using them since last year and have never had a problem with scheduling or quality. The same team of two comes for each cleaning, which has allowed them to gain an understanding of my requirements without me having to explain them to new people every time. With my team, and I suspect others, English is not their first language, so it's important to speak slowly and clearly and be sure they understand you so as to avoid any confusion. Like I had previously said, I didn't have any issues about the cleaning itself, I just (because of TWO previous issue) don't trust the staff to stay for the entire time when I'm not home. We now have someone home (our childcare provider) while the team cleans, so the trust part about how long they stay is a non factor. read more

We've used Vmaids for a little over a year with bi-weekly visits and we are very happy with their service. Our team is very efficient, friendly, and honest. We have had staff members switched around a bit and have found that the level of service has remained very much the same. We actually had a different experience than one of the other posters in that the ladies accidentally knocked a picture frame behind our dresser and couldn't reach it. Before we were even home from work, Vaclav had emailed me to let me know, express the ladies' apologies, and offered to pay for it if anything was broken (which it wasn't). Every once in a while, we'll see that the ladies might be having an off day in that there will be a "missed a spot" but generally our place looks awesome when we get home. They make our house look lovely, are on-time, friendly, and get right to work for a very reasonable price. That's about all I need from my cleaning people. read more

My partner and I decided it was time to hire a cleaning service and looked on craigslist and had a woman come from another service who came and did bare bones minimum and overcharged us. So, we decided to give V Maids a try based on other users reviews. We sent V Maids an email enquiring about having someone come to clean once every two weeks. They replied with a phone call right away asking questions about what was to be done, etc. We set up an appointment for the following Saturday, and Janine and Helena showed up right on time and started right away (they even brought their own supplies and equipment). They did such a great job, and did things even that we did not do when we clean like cleaning the ceiling fan. It was better than we could have ever expected. We called them to come back the following two weeks and are so happy with them we will have them coming every two weeks from now on. Highly recommended! read more

V Maids is terrific. The owners go out of their way to keep their clients satisfied and the cleaning staff are polite, trustworthy and efficient. I have had a standing monthly appointment for at least the last seven years. My house is only about 1200 square feet, but it contains a fair amount of dog hair, even though I DO clean between visits from the V Maids, The same people, Agnes and Margaret, come every time which is nice because they know my preferences and we don't have to spend too much time getting them up to speed. They are very careful and honest -- I never worry about having anything broken or misplaced as has happened occasionally with other cleaning services. And even though English is their second language, we all communicate quite well. They bring their own supplies and equipment but if there is something special you want them to use, such as a particular marble or leather cleaner, have it on hand for them. I am so pleased with the work they do because for at least a few days every month, the floors and furniture are dog-hair-free and the bathrooms and kitchen are sparkling clean. It is almost as if Martha Stewart lived here. Even though the owners just announced a small price increase, V Maids is still a bargain. My little house is cleaned from top to bottom in about two hours and only costs $80 plus an optional (but important!) tip of $10 for each of the cleaning ladies. I highly recommend V Maids. I was going to give my new apartment a good thorough scrubbing before I moved in, but came down with a really bad cold and decided to splurge on a cleaning service so I could rest. I called V Maids at 3:45 pm Thursday to see if they could squeeze in a cleaning for me today (Friday). I had to leave a message but was called back within 10 minutes. I was able to get a last minute appointment for 8am - they were even 5 minutes early. They did a great job - my bathroom is literally sparkling. I am incredibly pleased with the job they did and the fact that they could fit me in on such short notice. Their rates seem reasonable - $18 an hour per person (they sent over 2 for my one bedroom). If I hire a cleaning service again it will be V Maids. read more

I hired V Maids for a Move-in cleaning for 2 bed/bath. They promised to show up between 2-3pm. They showed up at 3:11pm. There wasn't much to clean so I can't really comment on the quality of their job. They worked from 3:15 to 5pm. For $23/person/hr, they rounded up to the nearest hour and they quoted me $93. (though it should have been $92 at most, but really $80..50). Overall, they were "Meh." read more

I have a recurring 4 week service which is very convenient. I also dont need to be home for them to perform their service. Referred them to friends and they love them also!
