What an incredible find. We came for lunch after a lovely hike and enjoyed a scrumptious meal. They have such a wide variety of items on their menu but it seems like they do it all fabulously. I have a new review. This one is for their pop-up dinner nights. They have pop-up nights, I think 3 times a week. Today we finally tried it for dinner. It was sensational. I was blown away. Service has always been great at Chive and it continues to get better. There weren't too many people waiting in but I did notice a lot of take out as we waiting for our food. I went with the Black Bean Breakfast Burrito, Salsa Fresca, Scrambled Egg, Pepperjack Cheese & Avocado in a wrap (#6 on the menu), and it was delicious. In addition, I ordered well-done home fries. TLDR: quaint cafe with friendly staff, quick service, and solid food all for a great price I dropped by for a quick lunch and was impressed. The burger was simple and checked all the right boxes of a delicious burger: great sear, juicy, loosely packed and soft, well seasoned, balanced toppings. It's also worth noting that the fries were great too - they perfectly crisp and stayed that way through the end of lunch. The entire experience was quick and casual. We got our food lightning fast. The staff was friendly in helping us and chatting with us before and after the meal. Great value too: Two entrees and a side for around $30. We have come here for lunch a few times and it is always great. There is no wait to be seated - it seems like they get a lot of takeout orders. The service is friendly and perfectly-timed. The food comes out quickly and is excellent. We've had breakfast foods and lunch foods and everything has been great. This last time we had the chive burger, the black bean burger, and the turkey sandwich and we were all very pleased with our meals. I've been coming to Chive for breakfast for years now, actually since it was in PA. It's now under new management and after 4 visits I give up. How to: first the check in.: Stand in line to order at the front counter with one person to take orders. Then sit down at a clear table and wait. Coffee comes, barely warm. Then the food comes on a cold plate and you have cool eggs, cool bacon and lukewarm potatoes. Need salt or a refill, go hunt down a serving person. The check never comes so you go back to the counter. Historically, early morning on Sunday was really busy with tables full of happy eaters. Now some stragglers show up after 9am. I had errands to do near Chive cafe and thought I would stop in for a breakfast sandwich. I ordered a simple pork roll and cheese sandwich and was stunned when the cashier said it was $10.60. I thought OK it must be one good sandwich. After waiting over 10 minutes the sad wonder bread roll and meager slices of meat and cheese arrived. I can get a much better quality sandwich at WAWA for less then half the price. No wonder there was only four people in the place. Total ripoff. read more

Five plus stars all the way around. My group of 20 arrived at 1 pm for lunch on a Saturday. I did call 3 weeks ahead and the owner was very accommodating. She reserved 5 tables of 4 which was perfect. Service was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious. Imagine going out with 20 people and everyone enjoyed their lunch and said they would definitely return. Well that's what happened, all 20 enjoyed their sandwiches, wraps etc. my husband had a lamb sausage in a pita, I had grilled vegetables with provolone on a wrap, some had turkey and other sandwiches and chili. The fries were also great. The bathroom was also very clean and cheerful. I am so happy the yelp reviews led me to this place for our outing after visiting Gorgeous Goats Creamery. Chive Cafe is an adorable spot with quality food and people. The vibe is welcoming and warm and the food is fantastic. I recently had the turkey sandwich on sourdough with arugula, melted brie, and blueberry jalapeno jam...it was as good as it sounds! Even better! I don't like too much spice so I was hesitant to try it, but it was delightful and not too spicy at all. My kids had the bacon, egg and cheese on a roll and loved it, especially how packed it was with bacon! The coffee was fresh and filled with deep flavor, just the way coffee should be. The sandwich options were imaginative, and even the potato salad and autumn salad were top notch--delicious and beautiful. Danielle was easy to work with and responsive to emails or phone calls. Had the unfortunate experience of ordering two sandwiches there on Wednesday September 3rd 2025. 1st was a BLT. It arrived after 30 minutes. Bacon was cold and flat with one under ripe tomato and piece of lettuce. Bread was supposed to be sourdough but more like wonder bread. Wawa quality. The second was a veggie sandwich which basically was a lot of mushrooms and melted cheese with two small pepper pieces. Again very poor or the presentation. Staff did bother to ask how things were. If I could give more stars I would! Every time I have been to Chive Cafe I have never been let down. You cannot go wrong with anything that you order from the menu. The cobb salad is PHENOMENAL with the fried artichokes - one of the best cobb salads I've had. But I have to say my favorite thing on the menu is the BLT sandwich. I am gluten intolerant so I get it on the gluten free bread and it honestly makes me so happy. I live in NYC and my parents live in New Hope, PA which is nearby Lambertville. I make sure I go to Chive Cafe every time I visit my parents. I've had takeout from this restaurant before and the turkey sandwich is excellent. Today I had a really good salad and a really good cookie afterwards. However, upon leaving the restaurant, I encountered their produce order sitting on the sidewalk. Maybe it's because I work in the food industry that I know how unacceptable this is. There's no way you can know if mice decided to visit your produce order before you brought it inside. As much as I had enjoyed the food on my prior two occasions, I do not believe I will visit a place that doesn't understand basic safe food handling. I understand it is a small operation, but I've had food poisoning in the past and do not wish to revisit that experience.
