    Strawberry matcha latte

There was a Vale Matcha pop-up at my office, and I'm not really a matcha person, but because it was offered I had to try it. But I really enjoyed the strawberry matcha latte, and this pop-up may have very well converted me into exploring matcha now. The service was very quick and the gals were super friendly, so I recommend these pop-ups if you're looking for event catering

Double Matcha is really rich and flavorful! You can definitely taste the matcha, and it's smooth without being too milky. Definitely one of the better matcha drinks I've had in Seattle!

Literally yum! The color speaks for the quality on this. Not too sweet, super cute atmosphere with nice employees. It's close to my house so I'll be returning for sure!

Fast, commodified, corporate experience that lacks the authenticity and heritage of matcha. Their concept is "matcha on tap" and it seems to cater to Amazon employees in a rush, but there is no respect of traditional practices or the culture that matcha comes from, and the matcha tastes bad as a result of this. I would recommend supporting local Asian-owned small businesses like Yoka Tea, Phe, and Taz instead. The matcha is much better quality and isn't made by robots there.

Modern coffee and matcha bar located near SLU in downtown Seattle. I tried the iced strawberry matcha latte and it was smooth with a hint of strawberry. The shop itself has a good atmosphere with plenty of indoor seating, Staff were friendly and service was quick on a weekday. Kudos for allowing the use of resusuable bottles.

Vale Matcha and Coffee is relatively new cafe located in the South Lake Union area of Seattle. It is a a cozy little spot that also has outdoor seating, which is perfect for the spring and summer sunny days to come.  I ordered a 16 oz Miso Honey Matcha Slush because it sounded very unique from your typical selection of matcha drinks. I was surprised how quickly my drink was made and served to me since it was a pretty busy morning the Saturday morning I visited. Everyone's orders were made and served fairly quickly from what I observed.  It wasn't my favorite drink. However, it did take a while to finish the drink because the slush takes time to melt. With the drink slowly melting over time, it was perfect since I was sitting outside reading and enjoying the ambience of the area.  On their website they claim they use ceremonial grade matcha from Shizuoka, Japan. However, what threw me off was learning that they have matcha on tap.

I came by on a Friday morning to try the banana matcha. It wasn't crowded at all and we got our drinks very quick. The matcha was really smooth and the caramel drizzle on the inside had a really good flavor. The banana flavor was good and tasted like real banana. There were a few places to sit inside, but I imagine if it's busy it'd be hard to find a spot. I'd definitely come back here if I was in the area.

My strawberry matcha half mixed and enjoyed on the floor while waiting in line for the world cup. A good memory!

I went here while at Pacific Place for the World Cup. It was just the pick me up that I needed to get through hours waiting in line for a giveaway. Their workers were also very friendly. My photo shows my drink half mixed because I couldn't wait to try it, but it was beautiful when I was given it. The drink was great and I will be returning.

This spot was incredible! It's so good, my wife made me go twice. In a city filled with coffee shops, visiting the same one twice in one trip is a feat. On the first visit, we enjoyed the strawberry matcha and an americano. The vibe here is hip and trendy with fun educational matcha signs throughout. There is both indoor and outdoor seating- always a perk. The matcha was great and perfectly sweetened. The americano was great too. One of the better ones I've had. The next day, we returned and ordered the banana matcha. It was also great, but we loved the fresh strawberry better. The quality of all beverages was great. The staff was also very nice and even super kind to our kids. Not all cafes in Seattle were so kid-friendly, so this was a refreshing atmosphere. Pricing was reasonable. Really great stop on our Seattle trip, glad we made it in. Thanks, Vale!

I loved the ambience, especially the outdoor seating. I finally visited today, and I'm so glad it was sunny and not windy. The chair outside looked uncomfortable at first, but once I sat down it was surprisingly cozy I honestly felt like I could stay there for hours. It's definitely a great cafe for reading or getting work done. I was also happy they serve Sea Wolf Bakery I love their dark chocolate cookies, so I got one along with a latte to enjoy there. The latte was just okay not amazing, not bad, just decent. The barista was sweet and very friendly, and she even overfilled my cup, which I appreciated. It's always nice to get a little extra rather than less!

There are so many new matcha cafes in Seattle, and Vale is one of the top ones on my list. Using only ceremonial grade matcha, Vale is serving up delicious traditional and creative matcha drinks. Best of both worlds. They also have coffee and other teas, which you would think would be pretty basic options, but I got this amazing probiotic Hong Kong milk tea (made with miso, apparently!) that also came with a cookie to dip into the drink! Phenomenal and they have 24 oz cups, which is slowly sipped through as I spent the day working in the cafe. I say cafe, but it's actually a side attachment to a luxury apartment building, but it does have its own little seating area. You can also head up to the second floor of the apartment and sit in the lounge there too. It overlooks the cafe. They also work with a lot of other local businesses to provide pastries, cookies, coffee beans, and other products.

Vale is a quaint and modern matcha shop located in SLU. There is street parking all around the area. Inside, they share a space next to a boutique hotel where there is seating downstairs and upstairs. For their menu, they have a nice selection of different coffee and matcha drinks to choose from. I ended up trying the Butter Pecan Matcha Latte and it was solid. All of the staff here are chill and welcoming. This is a great spot to grab a drink and go or to lounge around for a bit.

This spot is right in the heart of SLU and always caught my attention whenever I walked by because of the sign that says "matcha on tap."Right outside the entrance they even have a small matcha stand where they hand out samples sometimes, which is a nice touch. The cafe is attached to an apartment building and has a really cute, cozy vibe with an aesthetic mirror to take pictures. My go-to order is one of their breakfast sandwiches paired with either a strawberry matcha or a vanilla latte. They also offer lots of flavor options like earl grey, butter pecan, and banana, so it's a good place if you like switching up your drinks. They have a small selection of pastries as well. Prices are pretty comparable to most coffee and matcha spots which is around $7 depending on the size. The staff were also really friendly and provided great service. The only downside is that there are only about three tables to sit at.

My friend and I went around 11:45 am on a Saturday and the line was around the block. We saw lots of groups give up and leave annnd even people driving by commented that it wasn't worth it. However, my friend had her eye on the banana pudding hojicha so we stayed. The inside is cute, very crowded so you definitely have to loiter for tables as they become available. I do love the little tables and chairs by the entrance, definitely a call out to the asian experience. For 3 drinks, our total was ~30 so with my tip, $34 dollars total. And for that price, it better be good....ALAS. That was wishful thinking because the matcha was watery, the cream top had almost no flavor and the entire drink was lackluster. My friend's hojicha was undrinkable imo though she said the banana pudding was the best part and saved the drink for her. We also got the phe keo -- caramel coffee with honeycomb which was the saving grace but also a tad too cloyingly sweet for me. This is not worth the line whatsoever in a city with 300 other matcha spots that are frankly better. Check it out if you want to decide for yourself, but it's a pass for me.

I noticed that they now pour drinks from a pre-made plastic jug instead of making them fresh like when the store first opened. I usually don't get sick from drinking coffee but twice in a row is pretty bad. Their drinks are also overly sweet and most of them do not have a 0% sweet option, which is usually what I order from other coffee and tea shops, and it's probably because most of the ingredients are pre-mixed. They also use thick plastic cups, considering that Seattle is a pretty green city and a lot of similar Vietnamese coffee shops use sustainable cups. Sad to say, but my time visiting this chain has come to an end.
