First off the customer service was outstanding. The street tacos were AMAZING . I had a carnitas and carne asada. They came overfilled in home-made corn tortillas. Delicious! The owner gave me a taste of their cucumber mint drink. I've never been a fan of this drink because every place I tried has been to sweet. Let me tell you I was not disappointed. Love this place for there tacos! W My wife and I typically go here weekly and get at least two, sometimes three tacos each. There just so good we can't help ourselves. We stopped here after a day at the beach. My son got carne asada tacos and his dad and I chose the rolled tacos. We ordered beef rolled tacos but they gave us both chicken rolled tacos. No biggie, we ate them anyway. They were a little too crunchy, but that's okay. I wish I would've ordered the carne asada tacos like my son did because they were freaking amazing. The meat was seasoned just right. I tried all of the salsas that the salsa bar had to offer, but I didn't care for any of them. We had a beef chimichanga, beef flautas, bean and cheese burrito, fish taco and potato taco. We loved the flautas, burrito and green sauce. The beef in the chimichanga was tender, tasty and generous in portion. The potato taco was creamy and cheesy with a crispy shell. Valerie's is fantastic and a must have when visiting Oceanside Ca. I came here for a soccer tournament and Valerie's were onsite with a mobile restaurant and it was Awesome!! So I asked the owner if he had a brick and mortar and he had like 5!!! I grew up in Chicago with all our Mexican culture and authentic tacos and I got to say Valerie's kills it!!! Great food!!! We tried this place for the first time last night, my husband went in & ordered to go. He said it was clean and the employees were very kind. Since it was our first time we wanted to try a few different things so #1. Our kids all got bean & cheese burritos, they all LOVED them, and said they were 10x better than albertos which is where we normally go. #2. I ordered the Carne asada bowl, it was everything I could want and more. It was so big, its more like 2 meals in one. #3 the cripsy tacos, we tried the beef and the potato, I haven't had a potato taco since living in TX and these were 10/10 good (a little messy) but very good. And last but not least my husband got the fish burrito which he raved about all night. The prices were great we spent less on more food than we order when we get Mexican. We were just talking this morning about how we cant wait to order again because there are a bunch of other things we want to try so we will definitely be back! read more

I'm hooked on this place so now that I've had a chance to visit here a few more times and try some more items I wanted to check back in. I'll get to those in a minute, but first I have to comment on the salsas. This can make or break a good mexican food spot. Flavor, variety, quality and freshness are important to me and this spot is top shelf. The salsa here is just on a whole new level. It's always fresh and the flavors are amazing. Food wise i'm super stoked on all the different meats. The fish tacos are insane, nice to find high quality mahi at a reasonable price. Also really stoked on the breakfast burritos. Been here twice now, both times kid behind counter screwed up my order, today it was bagged for carry out when I CLEARLY said "for here". 4 customers after me, and two orders were short what they ordered. Tries to speak Spanish to people who clearly are speaking English. The soft taco shells were fresh the first time, today they were hard (old). Carne Asada was very salty, which gives the impression of preservation (old cooked meat). Lights in bathroom don't work. And the kicker today was some loud mouth in there on his phone swearing in front of kids, and not one employee said a word to him. I won't be back there again, place is "ok", food is "edible" and I won't recommend this place to anyone. read more

This place is Super clean! Thats the only reason I went in besides hunger lol. The girl there Naomi (I think that was her name?). Very helpful, she knew the menu very well after the 5th carne asada burrito she helped me to not be scared to try other menu items. Everything she has recommended has been delicious!! So stoked to have a Valerie's closer to home!!! I got there right before they closed but the cashier was so friendly! I ordered a California burrito. I forgot to ask for sour cream, it's not included. It was pretty good but kind of dry, to be fair I asked for no guacamole or pico. Overall, burrito was pretty damn good, even with no sauce. I'll absolutely be going there all the time.
