First of all, I will say that this restaurant has great food. I've never been disappointed with the taste of their food. However, they nickel and dime you to death! If you get a Philly Cheesesteak, they put one pickle on the sandwich, mind you they cut the sandwich into two pieces, but only put one little pickle on there and they charge for extra pickles. They charge for black olives. They charge for every little thing. The advertisement says pickles comes on the sandwich, but when you get it there's only 1 little piece of pickle. And when you complain, the manager just keeps saying, I understand, I understand but offers no explanation and does not even try to fix it. I used to visit them often but after paying $20 for one sub because I wanted pickles and black olives, I will not be going back again. read more

A small hole in the wall Italian place located in downtown Burlington. We usually order their pizza to-go, but I decided to try their baked ziti. I was across the street at the Mini Dingo (a local bar) and the counter person said they'd deliver the food to me. I was quoted 10-15 minutes. After 25 minutes, I went to check on the food and the entrance way was crowded with no employee in sight. After another almost 10 minutes waiting, the counter person finally showed up with my food. I should have known better since I order here pretty regularly when I'm downtown, but I highly recommend not bothering with them delivering it and just going to pick it up. Now on to the food... the baked ziti came with a side salad and a ton of bread. The baked ziti was really good, but the star of the show was the bread. All in all, decent Italian food, but budget some extra time when ordering because it may take longer than quoted. read more

Valerios has become our go to spot for good food and great prices. The pizza crust is incredible with wonderful texture and flavor. I am a huge fan of the spaghetti everything it is a couple of meals in one. Always great as leftovers too. But one hidden gem is the sandwiches. The club is terrific and I am happy to have a meatball parm where they give you plenty of meatballs. The service is sometimes a little slow but it's due to not enough people working. There is always good service and they know the menu. The fresh breadsticks always help with slower service. I don't know why but the bar side seating is the fun atmosphere of cheers or something similar. The overall vibe is always inviting and fun. I have been told the cocktails are good too. I would say if you are in downtown Burlington give this place a try. I have been told by several folks the lunch buffet is a must try too. read more

A really great place to eat, friendly, atmosphere for me is wonderful! Staff are always kind, helpful and service is excellent each time I come inside or call. The owners has made there restaurant very convenient for everyone, no matter the times you go here. I enjoy talking to KB, the front staff and people coming in are nice. My favorite foods of course is the mashed potatoes in which, my mom and I both adore! I LOVE! LOVE! the potato soup, steak and cheese subs, philly cheese steak sub! Went last night (August 3rd) at 6:15pm. It was practically empty so we were a little concerned that it wouldn't be good. I ordered Chicken Marsala. It was a good size portion but it was smothered with brown gravy and mushrooms. I had never had chicken marsala with such a dark brown gravy before. The chicken was tender but the dish was less than average. The sauce was not flavorful. My friend had the salmon with a baked sweet potato. His was also mediocre. He got sick and ended up in the bathroom at 4am and again several hours later. The ambiance could definitely be improved with better lighting, paint and tablecloths to update the look. There is a place where extra supplies are stored if you look up as you enter the restaurant . A curtain to hide that messy area would be nice. It has a lot of potential. read more

Called to make reservations for Sat. January 6 at 5 pm and was told they don't take reservations but I shouldn't have any trouble getting a table. Was there for a show next door for my wife's birthday. Got there at 5 pm as planned and they weren't even open. Website said nothing. Pretty disappointing as we were from out of town and had to scramble for a Plan B. If you can't depend on a place to be open when they say they are, then it's not worth giving them your money. read more

First time trying this place and I was a disappointed in the food. Ordered: mozzarella sticks, bruschetta, Hawaiian pizza, and linguine pescatore. Mozzarella sticks: Hard to mess up. Marinara sauce was ok. Bruschetta: Too much cheese. Couldn't taste any of the basil and the acidity of the tomatoes was drowned by cheese. Bread was too soggy. Hawaiian Pizza: Soggy af. Literally felt like I was eating wet bread. Linguine Pescatore: Scallops were definitely not fresh and had been sitting for a while. Shrimp was well cooked. Clams seemed "instant". Flavor of sauce was decent and the pasta was cooked well. All in all, not a great first experience. Maybe COVID restricted some freshness. read more

Other than Italian dressing, there wasn't really anything Italian about it. Had pepperoncini and feta, so it was more of Greek salad. And they forgot the anchovies. read more

Ordering and pickup process difficult. Unorganized. Food was not very hot when I picked, even though I was earlier than quoted. Sodas literally locked up with a pad lock. the service was terrible!! During the meal we had to wait for silverware and drinks and no refills until we were waiting for check!! They didn't bring back my change but that became my small tip (I would have left zero) The buffet meat and pizza items were very good for $9.99, but the salad bar and veggies on the buffet were poor. This is one of those situations where I'd prefer to give just 3.5 stars, but I'll round up due to the fact that we're talking about Burlington here. Good pizza (I don't suggest the white pie, but everything else is good). I like the scampi and the chicken Alfredo (though it's very rich). Potato soup is on point. Though I've ordered takeout from Valerio's regularly over the past year, for whatever reason I've never actually sat down here. The bar looks like a good spot to watch the game. My wife and I have eaten here a handful of times. We usually get seated in the area where the bar is located and have had great experiences. The last couple times we have eaten here, including tonight, we have been seated on the side of the restaurant near the restrooms. It is a totally different experience and quite eye opening. This side of the restaurant is FILTHY. Our service was okay, other than our server forgetting part of our order. The food is pretty good but now we question the cleanliness of the kitchen. If they let their guests sit in filthy areas where they are forced to look at this, you can only imagine what condition the kitchen might be in. We requested to change seats tonight, but the hostess told us the entire bar area was booked. If a manager/owner can read this, PLEASE clean your restaurant. Its dissapointing because this used to be our date night go to. Not anymore. Pictures are a view from our table. The baseboards are caked in dirt and the wall is filthy and beaten up. I managed to hear about this place through the bartender Jo. I'm so glad that I checked this place out!! I love the ambience of the restaurant! Especially for being downtown, the vibes are super chill! I was seated at the bar and got myself a glass of wine. I was attended to very quickly and Jo happened to be my server that day. I ordered food to go since I had to meet with someone. I ended up eating my food the very next day. I reheated it by using the oven and man....the food was amazing. I got the spicy shrimp and noodles. The size of the shrimp was huge! I'd definitely recommend this place. They have amazing drink specials. I'll definitely be back because I want to try the shrimp scampi. read more

Waitress was pleasant. Busy. Trying too hard to be friendly. We ordered calamari appetizer which was fishy smelling and off -- as if it had been thawed and left out for too long. Three pasta dishes, Alfredo, vodka sauce Alfredo red sauce mix and then just plain red sauce all came in way way oversauced. Couldn't cover the mediocrity of each dish. Return to the beginning. Make your sauces homemade and light. Less is more. Leave the powdered cream out of the cream sauces and stop using anything from the can. Beer was cold. We stopped in for the first time and found the food wonderful. There were 3 adults and a small child. We tried the buffet. Best food ever! Great ribs and pizza as well as the salad bar. The price was very good as well. I've added it to Google maps for the next time we are in town to visit the kids/grandkids. Ate here twice last week for lunch. Both times food and service was excellent. Food was out quickly. The first time I had shrimp scampi, the second time I had seafood alfredo on fettuccine and my husband had hamburger steak with grilled onions. All of these dishes were very delicious. Hubby said it was THE best hamburger steak he has ever had and I would have to say the same about the dishes I had. For my side I got the salad with a wonderful homemade ranch dressing...included breadsticks, all very good. Will definitely be back! read more

Our office has ordered delivery from Valerio's often, but on three recent occasions I have received various excuses why they cannot deliver. First, they only deliver to a local few blocks...which we are within those limits at 0.2 mile. Second, they don't deliver when it is raining. (??) And today they are short staffed and cannot spare anyone. In this day and age the public is in dire need of CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will not be giving Valerio's any more of my business. read more

My wife and I ate here on 1-26-18. She had the BBQ bacon chicken sandwich with sweet potato and I had the lasagna dinner. We both liked our food. My lasagna reminded me of a really large Chef Boyardee ravioli (which I love). Best Italian dressing I have had in a long time on my salad. Don't waste your time or money! The tables are wobbly, chairs falling apart, and the ambiance is terrible. It feels entirely low rent at the least. The food is decent, but it is not authentic Italian food by any stretch! Prices aren't great for what you get. Worst of all is an employee, maybe waitress manager, named Tina. Rude, snide and about as classy as a port-a-potty at a week long rock concert! Off putting is the nicest way to describe this person! She stinks of cigarettes and bad life choices and looks like she's trying out for the next season of Jerry Springer. Absolutely ruined the experience. Hell, she's the reason for this review! Ugh. What a waste of time this place is. You're better off going to Olive Garden! I grew up on Chicago pizza, and have not found very many places in NC that offer good pizza. This is one of them! We had sausage, mushroom and onion. The crust could be just a bit more crusty, but the sauce, cheese, and vegetables were excellent. If you are used to Chicago pizza, ask them to make sure the cheese is good and browned, just before being burnt. That would have made this pie almost perfect! Will definitely revisit - which is saying quite a lot, coming from a Chicago pizza snob. read more

Favorite Italian spot in Burlington! Low prices, high quality! We've never had a bad experience been going for about a year frequently.
