When I dropped the block off, I was asked to leave it by the shop door. It sat in that exact spot for over two weeks before I finally received a quote, which I felt was unreasonably high for the work. I understand that shops have minimum charges, but waiting more than two weeks for a quote on a cam bearing replacement--only to receive a price that high--was frustrating. When I picked the block up, it had developed some surface rust because it hadn't been moved the entire time it was there. That said, the staff was friendly and professional throughout the process. Because of that, I'd be willing to give them another chance if I needed different work in the future. However, my first experience ended up being a frustrating waste of time.

Initially, communication was good and pricing was fair with discounts When I picked it up my car on August 13, 2025, it immediately had issues to include not starting on the first start, A/C issues, rough idle, running hot, and a speed limiter error. The next day, they admitted to missing a vacuum hose and incorrect settings related to the shocks, which they fixed. However, the car continued running poorly, ran hot, and had ongoing starting issues. I returned the car on August 21st. They kept it for 10.5 weeks without resolving the problem, with very poor communication. Then they sent it to another shop (not one I approved) for an additional 6.5 weeks. After 17 weeks total, the starting issue was still not fixed. I picked up my car on December 12th and within miles of picking it up, the check engine light came on. A different shop I chose later, looked at my car for 15 minutes and found that the PCV system was installed incorrectly and the car still had a stock tune. After correcting those, the car runs much better, runs cooler, but the starting issue remains, and is most likely a cam sensor. Not only did I have to pay my car payment and insurance for the 4 months I was without my car, but I also had to pay another shop to tune it and fix the PCV system. I tried to address this issue directly with the owner before leaving a review, but he was defensive, and unwilling to work toward a resolution. I also submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau in hopes of resolving the matter. After spending thousands of dollars and dealing with months of delays and poor communication, I cannot recommend this shop, and I won't even use my loyalty rewards to get a free oil change at this point.

We had the car towed over (2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid), and they diagnosed the problem and repaired the issue quickly and at a fair price. Unfortunately, the tech made a small mistake and once we got the car home, there was more oil on the driveway and a check engine light. Ugh, again. So we called back to Scott to see what he wanted us to do. We understand that sometimes mistakes are made and issues arise. How a business owner handles those issues are the difference between good businesses and great ones. This is a great one. Scott was MUCH more upset than we were! He got us back in same day and fixed the issue at no charge! (We should have paid for a necessary part, but he would not charge us.) With everything so expensive these days, and everyone trying to stretch a buck, it's hard to know if you're leaving your car with someone who cares about it as much as you do. Scott does. I realized that outside of the most basic work (like breaks, fluids or shock changes), they are not the place to go. When I have issues and take a car in, I leave with the very same issues, but I think they are taken care of. I have multiple cars now which fall into this category. The most recent is a Ford Expedition with a leak. $1500 into the work, the original problem was not solved. In fact, I now have a quote for $1900 for the remainder - when I asked why the problem wasn't solved it was 'oh we misdiagnosed it and you "Approved" the work'. They do not stand behind their misdiagnosis. I have not had this issue elsewhere- dealerships or other big-box repair shops. Another situation - I went in for a check engine light; they replaced a spark plug. The same thing is still occurring even now after my car has had all of its spark plugs changed, and I personally found a broken air hose in the engine and fixed it myself. They went with the computer code but never actually diagnosed the problem. I'm not driving rare cars. When I reflect back on previous cars I've had issues with, the same pattern occurs - I take it in, the problem is not fixed, I am quoted a large estimate, I buy another car - the savings I perceived to have were never worth it. Consider this when you go in.

Told me that when his crew couldn't figure out an electrical issue he told his customers to come here and their vehicles were fixed. While waiting for my oil change I got to meet "Fluffy" (75 lb monitor) who works there as the "complaint department". His sidekick is a boa constrictor named "Briggs". The staff there was hilarious, great conversation and I have never had such a good time at a service shop while waiting for my car. In addition to changing my oil they topped off all fluids, pumped up my tires a bit and recommended front brake pads in the future. I will definitely come back to this shop, they are great!!!

When the dreaded red triangle of death appeared on my hybrid, I first called the dealer. The receptionist was clueless and wouldn't even let me speak to a service advisor at the Gilbert & Pecos location. I was told my only option was a a $98 diagnostic fee. Then I called APA and spoke with Drew. He explained that their diagnostic fee was similar, but more importantly, walked me through a few things they would try before even going that route. The diagnostic would be a last resort. That alone made a huge difference. When I dropped the car off, he offered me a ride home. I declined and stayed nearby, but the gesture stood out. When I checked back in later, they told me the issue was something super minor - and they fixed it for under $60. Had I gone with that Toyota dealer, I would have paid the diagnostic fee, and who knows what they would have charged for the remedy. Always always read reviews...The Toyota Dealer off Gilbert Road, has reviews showing concerns about repair practices & pricing. The sales side received great reviews, the repair side faces challenges. Bottom line: Drew and APA earned my trust. If I have any future car problems, I know exactly where I'm going. Dishonest Diagnosis, Disrespectful Response -- Avoid This Shop…read more APA Total Car Care has a "D-" rating with the BBB as of this review. Do you really want them working on your car? I brought my Tundra into APA Total Care Care (yes, it's misspelled on their invoices, diagnostics, media) for an A/C refrigerant leak diagnosis--something already confirmed by the Toyota dealer, who had added UV dye to help in the detection. I have no idea what they charged me for. It wasn't UV dye leak detection that's for sure. Instead of checking for dye or leaks, APA tried upselling me the exact same service (evacuate/recharge with dye) for 50% more--claiming the dye wasn't there. I later filmed the dye clearly visible under UV light myself. They also managed to cause damage while poking around. See the video. Their "inspection report" was just an automated upsell list, with no mention of the A/C issue I brought it in for (as shown on their own invoice). When I pressed the service manager for answers, he became aggressive. The owner's public reply on Google doubled down with personal attacks, called my wife and me "immature," and never addressed the video proof I shared. That response says more about their professionalism than I ever could. I challenged the owner to prove my wife and I were screaming and yelling, but you guessed it, there is no such evidence even though they have video cameras all over their lobby. I've posted video and photo evidence. If you value honesty, keep looking.
