Woke up late this morning and decided we would eat out for breakfast. It's nice to know valley diner serves breakfast all day. Al ordered the Holy Moly - it tasted fine but he was disappointed that the ham appeared to be deli meat - not ham steak. I ordered the galaxies omelet. They put the right amount of filling! Was great to be able to upgrade the toast to fresh fruit! It was a really nice assortment of fruits- banana, grapes, strawberries and blueberries! Service was very attentive - an improvement since our very first visit here when they first opened. read more

We have been Valley Diner customers for years and have always taken friends/family here. Recommended it often also. Today 5/12/21 I took a couple of friends here, one of whom has never been before. I told her we had never had anything that wasn't good here. Oh boy were we disappointed!!! My friend & I both ordered the gyro platter...meat was dry and tasteless. The newbie ordered the french dip and said it was very bland and the au jus was cold. We were afraid to send it for reheat as our lunch had taken forever to start with. Our waitress.....pretty pitiful. I arrived first & ordered tea while I waited. When my friends arrived I had to wave her down, she brought silverware and no menu. Turned to walk away!! I said, " my friends would like something to drink please." She did come back. Fast forward, she took our orders and like I said, it took forever. Remember I have been here many times, times when it was busier with no issues. Once we got our lunch, served by a gentleman. Our waitress never came to check on us....no drink refills. This was our 4th time over a 3 year period and last time we will try. food is actually very good but they do not know how to run a restaurant. Everytime we have gone here it was poorly run. We always wait a long time for tables and it is barely full. It also takes extremely long to get our food and the service is poor. Just today.... After waiting 20 minutes to get a table we were finally seated even though there were lots of open tables. We ordered and then after almost 30 minutes of waiting our waitress told us they were working on it. Needless to say at this point we just left. We will not go back after giving them 4x to improve. My daughter and I stopped for a late breakfast on Saturday. All tables were full, a good thing to see because we have been here several times over the years and always enjoyed our meals. We sat at the bar and were promptly served by a waitress who got us our beverages right away. I always have the Minnesota Rancher breakfast. It was tasty and well prepared as usual. There was a longer, but not unreasonable wait for our food, because the place was packed. I left wondering when the health inspector had last paid a visit. Dirty bathrooms and the place was a sticky mess-i don't think the condiments have ever gotten wiped down. have loved this place and patronized it for several years until, now. We went in for lunch during the week at 11 am. The was a table of elderly women, probably 20 in there and 1 waitress. - The owner and 2 guys cooking. We wanted over an hour for our food as all the attention was given to the table of old ladies and people who came in after we did received their food first. There was no attempt by the owner or any of his kitchen helpers who stood around most of the time to help the waitress deliver food and ZERO attempt to apologize to us for the wait. when the food finally came 1:15 min later, it was cold and not what we ordered. The owner brought my husband's plate to him and I commented on the wait and that others who came in after us had eaten and left. .He was rude and snotty, saying chicken takes a long time to cook, not a way to treat a regular customer. We won't ever go back again. Never got over the 4.00 glass of coke either. Even prior to this incident, quality has been declining. don't waste your money. read more

I really like the valley diner. The food is very good and the portions are large. The service is okay sometimes can be a little poor but nothing to bad. The ice cream and the shakes are great and you should try to save room for one. The prices are about average for a cafe. The food here is very good. The service is on the slow side. We came at lunch on the weekend, so we were in no rush, which was good because we were here over an hour and a half. We both had shakes, which were good if a little runny. I had a solid Reuben. Only complaint with it would be using Thousand Island instead of Russian dressing. Good corned beef. My wife had chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, and said they were both excellent. I've been told the breakfast is even better, so we'll definitely be back for that. read more

I love supporting my local businesses and I feel that this place deserves your patronage. Some of the other reviews are a little mixed so I was apprehensive giving them a try. I hate paying for a bad time! But I was pleased with my experience and I don't have anything negative to say. We wanted to try a little of everything, so we got some breakfast; the gyro omelet and another thing I cant remember..A Cajon breakfast something and the Elvis Burger. Breakfast here was decent, but I prefer other places. The burger on the other hand was awesome and generously big. I plan on coming back for their burgers. Our service was good. She was quite busy but still got us what we needed and the food came out when it should have. I think maybe the problem people are experiencing here is that they are a small business they may be reluctant to hire more staff and find themselves bitting off more than they can chew, so hopefully they will wise up. read more

Have to preface my rating by saying, Food is actually very good.... SERVICE needs work! We have visited here at least 5 or 6 times for both breakfast and lunch. EVERY time we have been here, we have had terrible service. You are either waiting forever for someone to take your order or waiting forever to get your bill! The last time we were there was Labor Day weekend 2011. We were a table of 4 which was missing a service set and we mentioned right away. Sure enough... by the time our food was served we had to ask for silverware/napkin which took another 5 minutes. We just walked up to to counter and asked. Then after we were all finished eating, we didn't have our bill yet so my husband told our server we were ready to settle up. She said sure thing... I'll get it for you. We timed it... we waited 16 minutes for her to return which she NEVER did. We walked up to the register and told the gal at the counter what we ordered and paid. Left zero tip and unless Valley Diner has really stepped up the service... We won't be back. read more

Tried it again last week, once again, place is almost empty (weeknight), overly long wait for overpriced, bland turkey plate. My family frequents this place about once every month or two. They have some interesting menu items you find elsewhere. Their gyros and falafel are particularly good. I visited this diner with friends who have been here many times over. We had a pleasant waitress, and fast service. The sausage patties are delicious. The pancakes are perfect looking and very tasty too. The atmosphere of the diner is cute. It's newer but still feels welcoming. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. My boyfriend and I had heard good things about the Valley Diner. We stopped in and planned on having a nice lunch. We ordered mozzarella sticks and we were going to split a cheeseburger. Our mozzarella sticks took over a half hour and when we received them they were cold. We didn't want them, so we sent them back and were just planning on having the burger. Our server explained to us that the kitchen staff said that our mozzarella sticks were cold because the marinara sauce they serve with them is sometimes served cold. I laughed at this because I didn't use the sauce and it was a horrible attempt at making excuses. A visit from the manager at this point would have been appropriate, but it did not happen. We then continued to wait for our burger for another 15 minutes and by this point we had had enough and told our server we were leaving and we would just pay for our 2 sodas. Still did not receive a visit from a manager and our poor server felt uncomfortable. As we were leaving the owner, who was behind the line cooking the whole time, just said "thank you!" Really? Pretty disappointing that we were the only two people that seemed to care about our horrible experience. I am a restaurant manager myself and I understand that things happen, but when the guest is made to feel like they don't matter, that is when you lose customers. Communication and guest service wins out every time. Apparently, that message has been missed at Valley Diner. I will never be returning to the Valley Diner and I will be sharing my experience with my family and friends to ensure they never go there either. read more

2nd time we've tried it, can't say how the food was the 2nd time though. The first time the service was slow, even though it was nearly empty and the food was bland, but given that it was a local cafe, we really WANTED to attempt to support a local business, so we gave it another chance. Took the family out for Sunday breakfast. We had our toddler along. After about 20 minutes into our order she was done playing with her toys and had drank all of her milk. To entertain her I started the movie Frozen on my phone. After we finished watching Frozen, our food had still not arrived, and even through half a dozen wait staff were standing around, our drinks had not been refilled. People that had arrived before us had still not received their food, but a couple that came in after us were half into their meal at that point. Given that we were over two hours in at that point and our daughter was an hour overdue for a late morning nap, we gave up and went to another restaurant so we never did get our food. Glancing at the grill as we left, it appeared as though they made maybe two or three meals at most at one time. Ours was not one of the meals on the grill, so who knows how long it might have actually taken to actually receive our food. Extremely inefficient. The menu looks interesting. And given that a typical Waffle House can handle three times the crowd on the same size grill and serve people in under 20 minutes, its definitely a concept that could work, but the management needs some training because the cooks were not efficient and their was wait staff standing around while people all around us might have wanted a refill. read more

I regret to say that my family of 4 had a horrible experience on fathers Day at Valley Diner....We put our name on a waiting list (on a napkin) and was told 30 minute wait. after an hour wait...the host came out and got a group of 4 who has been waiting only 10 minutes. I ran up to tell the host and he apologized and said he accidently skipped over our name and said we are next in line. I was irrate and we left with a bad taste in our mouths.
