This place is super cozy. The tables are close, but not in a way that you feel crushed. Out server was very nice, and let me have all the coffee I wanted! I drink a lot of coffee and she was nice enough to let me have a whole pot! For food, we split strawberry French toast and the Denver omelette. The toast was what you'd expect. Two stars are for the server who was very friendly. Ordered coffee, biscuits and gravy and a side of bacon. Food took forever to come out and when it did, it was the worst gravy I have ever had. It was just milk thickened with a roux. Unseasoned with sausage crumbled on top adding the only flavor on the dish. A true gravy for biscuits and gravy needs to have sausage flavor infused into the roux by adding flour to the grease from cooking the sausage and adding milk (and pepper/seasonings!) this was almost inedible. Weak coffee/limp bacon made things even worse. Walls are covered in weird ai generated 50s artwork. Like a crude copycat of a traditional diner. Wendy's had better breakfast. I have noticed the Valley diner for years but never stopped in, until tonight. Wow, what a wonderful restaurant! I loved the decor but not sure how to describe it. Perhaps Homey and inviting fits. We live close so we thought we'd try this diner. Well never again. It was so hot and humid in the restaurant! I am always cold, well I was sweating it was so hot. Then they gave us our silverware and my spoon was super dirty (see photo). We were given water and told they are out of ice. We saw many more people come In and they were all given water with ice. When My husband asked if we could have ice we were told they were out. The food was okay. Not terrible and it was warm. But over priced for the quality. When we paid we paid in cash. Service was great. Food was just meh. Fried pickles were good but my chicken sandwich was kind of gross. Sorry but everything seemed greasy and like it was all fried in the same grease. Decided to try this place for the 1st time on 07/03/16. First thing my husband and I noticed was how sticky the floors were at 7am. Also the glass was very greasy. Obviously they don't clean very well. I ordered a hazelnut latte to start and hubby got a white chocolate mocha. Both tasted like powder was added to water. $3.75 a piece for each, both cups were only 1/2 full and no refills. Both tasted terrible and appeared to not contain caffeine. Hubby ordered the country fried steak and I got the "special" crab cakes benedict. Hubby said it was the 2nd worst country fried steak he has eaten. Very greasy. Also his scrambled eggs were cold. As for me, my poached eggs were cold but since they were placed on a crab cakes straight from the fryer the eggs cooked over hard and I got no runny egg yolk on my benedict. Both our hashbrowns were barely cooked and we're mostly raw. The service was also terrible. There were two servers and two tables. We were the 2nd table. After food was served our server didn't check back for 10 minutes. Our tab was over $30 but why? Needless to say we won't be back. Worst breakfast experience ever. read more

Went for breakfast this past Sunday. The food tasted good but didn't sit well. Maybe it was because I couldn't get the vision of one of the workers running his hands through his hair and face then proceed to wrap the silverware. Had a terrible experience at Valley Diner this afternoon. Beyond the food issues (no cheese in omelet, stale toast, cold sausage), the diner isn't taking Covid seriously. Tables aren't sanitized after use, still using full menus that aren't sanitized after use, cooks aren't wearing masks, and no social distancing signage/markers. It's too bad. Week night evenings are pretty quiet. I went here for dinner with my wife and we nearly had the place to ourselves. This meant we had the full attention of our server, who was very pleasant and attentive. She gave us time to order, checked back frequently, and engaged in pleasant conversation. She was wonderful. The décor is diner style crossed with a modern coffee shop. There is a fireplace and comfy chairs and the prerequisites pictures of Elvis and Marilyn. I found the in-between style OK. They have seating in the hallway outside the restaurant that is staged like outside seating, but it's clearly not. My wife ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken and I ordered the Ruben and Fries. She loved her food, comfort food on a cold winter night. My sandwich was not quite crispy enough, so as I eat it, the filling would fall out to my lap and plate. Also, I missed the crunch. The meat was OK, I have had much better and some worse. Overall, the sandwich was fine. Their fries were good, though the portion slightly smaller than I expected. I was still full, so not an issue. Many places have portions that are huge because fries are cheap. They were done and crisp but were not made in house. That, I think is were things could be stepped up. Great dinners have a feeling a scratch made food. I have eaten breakfast here and their breakfasts are better because of this. I do prefer this place to any chain place you can find in the area. We have been here with family from out of town and everyone finds something to enjoy. I don't come here often, because they don't actually make omlettes. It's just a the co egg cake (think pancake) on a bed of cheese and whatever stuff was supposed to be the filling. These tables sat unseated the entire time & people were asked to go on a wait. This is only the beginning of this disappointing breakfast experience with the family. We stood there as every server walked past us multiple times, never acknowledging us. Saw this restaurant on a search for restaurants in AV. The menu is huge and had a lot of great options. After being told there was a 20 min wait we were finally seated about 50 min later. We waited another 20 min before even seeing our server. After ordering we waited another 30-45min for our food to come out. I ordered the fried chicken and asked if it would be a problem to get all dark meat? She said sure! No problem. When it came out it wasn't all dark. I didn't mention it because I knew I'd probably never see her again. Chicken was so dry and overcooked I couldn't really eat it. The fries tasted like the oil was old. Hubby got pancakes and bacon. Bacon looked like the precooked stuff. Server never refilled beverages or asked if we needed anything. I still gave a 20% tip because I'm not a jerk face, but I won't go there ever again. read more

Tried taking my family out for breakfast, was told we would have to wait 15-20 min for a table for 4 (understandable) after waiting for 25 minutes we noticed several families of 4 being seated before us. They had crossed our names off the list and were argumentative telling us we were a family of 5 and had no room for us. Waitress was rude and when it came time to pay my bill she took my card and held onto it for 15 minutes while casually taking care of other customers and hiding in the back.
