They built out a system for us that made sense for our usage, and also specialized in a very specific panel type I was looking for, which is a hybrid Solar PV + Solar thermal (heat) for pool water called CoolPV. Velocity actually paid for our June PG&E bill while we waited for the system to be completed. They fielded any/all questions I had throughout the process with timeliness and total transparency. We're now enjoying a system that is producing an abundant net credit on the energy side (~38-45kW/day from a 6.7kWh rated system) so far through the summer months, producing with incredible efficiency; at the same time keeping our pool heated at an amazing walk-in 88-90 degrees (we were normally seeing 78-81 degree top water temps this time of year w/o heat). If you're on the fence about purchasing solar, I would highly recommend Velocity for an honest, transparent assessment on whether solar makes sense for you. With PG&E woes continuing into 2020 and beyond, we've traded our insane utility bill for a fixed monthly payment and a 30% tax credit (last year for the 30%!) that will have the system completely paid for in only a few years time. The owner of that business recommended Sunlight Electrical to fix my system. I spoke with Carlos at Sunlight. He sent out Isaac who seemed very capable. Isaac's assessment was that my system had multiple wiring issues and recommended a service that would require a larger team to complete. He explained why, and I concurred with Isaac's recommendation. Carlos scheduled a larger team to come out the next week. They were led by Jesus, who also seemed quite knowledgeable. Jesus and his team worked diligently for 4 hours. They found more wiring errors as Isaac has predicted. And they found a damaged Tesla MC2 unit on the roof which had cracked. After they completed their repairs, the system started operating better than it ever had before. I estimate that I am now getting an extra 10-15% more power from the solar panels. In addition to providing capable technicians, I really appreciate that Sunlight is so easy to work with. I asked several highly technical questions and always got thoughtful answers. If you want something done a specific way, just ask them. They have such a positive, customer oriented attitude that makes them a pleasure to deal with.

I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. Nathan showed up and was amazing! Unfortunately our system was not so great and basically died completely. Nathan tried everything he could but the situation was out of his hands. He quickly called the office and within an hour had Zia at our home to talk new systems. We were not expecting to need to purchase a new system and were pretty short on time, but Zia was amazing and explained everything in a quick manner. He answered all questions we had, and found the right system for us. Zia worked so fast that he was able to secure us an installation date for Friday of that week and not make us late to pick up our kids from school. Since we had to replace our roof last October, I had questions about how to not compromise our roof warranty with this work being done. Zia was once again amazing and did everything he could to explain everything and even 3-way called me and their roofing company so that I felt confident in what was going to be done. Today (Friday) Timothy and his crew showed up right on time and got to work. Took about 6-7 hours to take down and install. Cleaned up really nicely and answered all questions we had.
