I went in and was scheduled with Dr Allison. Not at all what I hoped for or needed. I know I have a hearing issue but also wanted to see what was going on with repeat ear and sinus infections as well as bumps/sores in my nose. His words after looking ONLY at my nose was "I don't see a problem." Seriously my nose was tender to the touch due to the sores. The audiologist was ridiculous. She put a sample pair on me that were not working right/not programmed properly. I tested them for almost 2 wks, went back and told her the pair she put on me didn't make a difference. She claimed to try to change but couldn't figure out how so told me to take the first pair home and try them again. They didn't work the 1st 2 weeks so now they were supposed to magically start working? OR I could buy a pair (over $4,000). The overall experience lacked care and compassion from staffing, on time appts (I understand a few minutes late but not 45-60 minutes for every appt), follow up from there office, etc. oh, and I bought the brand Widex that she suggested, but not from them. And I paid a lot less than what they were going to charge. read more

If i could put a 0 star rating i would. Showed up right on time. 3:15 (15min early as i filled paperwork ahead of time). Left work early and picked my daughter up from daycare early. Showed up and dr. Chuang was an hour behind. I said well i never received a call to know about him being behind or I wouldve planned my schedule accordingly. Recp stated it's his policy NOT to inform patients! I stated that is the worst policy to have in place! Who does that?! No respect for people's schedules. She proceeded to state i could wait. I said i would not wait and will find a more patient respected practice and thats a horrible policy and wouldnt want a provider like that. My ear is a urgent situation referred from urgent care ear drum about to burst and this was what happened. I cannot believe this policy would not be stated when booking an appointment let alone calling patients to let them know provider is behind by an hour! The wait is unbelievable! On my first visit, they did not have that board that indicates how long is the wait. So I would notice that everyone who came in later than me were going in first?!? So I asked the Front desk why? They just were rude and made me feel like I was a bother. After 2 hours wait I finally got in and Dr Chuang had no bedside manner whatsoever. I try to ask a question and he would interrupt me and not bother to listen to my question that my questions never got heard much less answered; he was rushing and quickly passed me on to another tech to do my hearing exam. On my follow-up visit, I was first to check-in and only person in the waiting area and noticed there was now a board that indicate how long is the wait. It showed zero minutes. I was pleased as I had another appointment that I need to be on time right after this one. Other patients started to come in and they again got called in before me. I looked at the board and it showed this time a 45 mins wait. I went to the front desk, and aired my grievances, asked for a refund of my co-pay & cancelled my appointment. I want to warn others not to come here based on my experience. The doctor was the problem here. He is terrible. I have seen at least 50 doctors, and none has been as unprofessional and unhelpful as this one. I never leave reviews so this experience took a lot for me to say this. He was condescending, speaking over me while I tried to ask simple questions indicating he didn't care to hear what I had to say, and at one point even said "We need to hurry this up I need to see my next patient" after he had dominated the conversation. Zero empathy for someone who potentially needed a surgery. He also told lots of useless stories about how other people he had seen with cauliflower ear considered it a 'badge of honor' in his attempts to talk me into leaving it alone. I immediately went to a different ENT practice (Canyon Sky ENT) and they were a completely different experience. They fixed my ear perfectly instead of trying to talk me into leaving it mangled. I should have taken the time to read the reviews about him before blindly scheduling a visit. Lesson learned. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but customer service and follow-up are two major factors that build trust in a medical practice--and Valley ENT dropped the ball on both. From the start, the experience was rocky. When I called to schedule my appointment, the coordinator was rude and clearly rushing through the call. I had to explain my insurance to her, and as she checked with a coworker to see if I was right, I could hear their entire conversation. Not very professional. When I arrived, they didn't even ask for a co-pay, which means they ran my insurance incorrectly. Now I'm just waiting for a bill that will reflect how disorganized they are. During my appointment, things didn't get much better. The waiting room only had three people--me, another patient, and her guest--so I wasn't surprised when I was called back after just five minutes, that went well. But behind the scenes? Chaos. Staff members had their kids at work, walking around asking for snacks, and employees were parenting mid-shift. Meanwhile, patients in the lobby were complaining about waiting 40+ minutes past their scheduled times. I bring my child to work sometimes too, so I get the need for flexibility. But if your kids are affecting operations, that's not okay. Patients deserve the same respect you expect from us when you're short on childcare. Again--customer service matters. Now, Dr. Chung? He was actually great. Super knowledgeable, asked solid questions, and honestly had me diagnosed before he even examined me. He listened, welcomed questions, and had a vibe that was both confident and kind of hilariously skeptical. He gave "Mr. Chow from The Hangover" energy--like, I want to believe, but I'm side-eyeing a little. Not in a bad way, just... we'll see. He laid out a treatment plan, explained the medications he'd prescribe, and said we'd check in again in a month. I walked out at 5:06 p.m. with a diagnosis and visit summary in hand. Then came the pharmacy saga. I went to Walgreens at 6:30 p.m.--no prescription. Tried again at 10:00 p.m.--still nothing. Came back the next morning at 9:00 a.m.--they told me, "There's no prescription at any Walgreens for you." I called Dr. Chung's assistant. No answer, no return call. Tried another medical assistant--same thing. Finally, I got through to scheduling, and they confirmed: "Dr. Chung hasn't submitted the prescription." So, here we are. Terrible customer service. No follow-up. Just a clinic that can't get the basics right. As for me? I am im left writing this review with one hand and holding tissue over my nose a mouth with the other hand. Such a disappointing appointment. As a provider I recognize how broken healthcare is but to have a provider rush the visit to the point that we have no ability to describe an issue that has been ongoing for two years makes the visit pretty much worthless. I will definitely not be recommending patients to this practice. I had to explain to my son that apparently with specialists you get 10 minutes for the visit and they also do not perform a physical examination. Last appointment was at office #1. Called office #2 as it is closer to my location. I was told it was not courteous to the doctors for patients to transfer office locations (within the group)...say what? It was necessary to get approval from office manage at #1. After receiving that approval tried to book with office #2 and was told office manager at #2 had to approve the appointment!! This process took about 3-4 weeks...I cancelled. My time is worth more! It appears these locations are separate entities operating under one name and being fair to the doctors is more important than a patient's freedom of choice...never experienced anything like this. read more

I now have worse nasal problems thanks to Dr. McKenna. He did sinus and turbinate surgery on me, and I was still having problems, so he did more surgery. I was even worse than before the first surgery, and Dr. McKenna made me feel like I was crazy, I shouldn't be feeling worse. He sent me to a plastics ENT to see if maybe a collapsed valve was the problem: it's not. I have now had two other ENT's say the problem is that I now have Empty Nose Syndrome because Dr. McKenna removed virtually the entire turbinates. Your turbinates play a very important role, and ENT's are supposed to not remove any of it or as little as possible: they don't grow back. I now have to live the rest of my life feeling sick everyday, and of course Dr. McKenna is denying any responsibility for it. I highly recommend you avoid Valley ENT at all costs. read more

I have had allergies for over 50 years. I went Valley ENT and met Dr. Y.L. Richardson. I was impressed at the start. She tested me and showed me a solid, thick black line from Jan-Dec, allergies all year long. Told me the shots are covered by medical however they have side effects. The subliminal drops have no side effects, aren't covered by medical and cost $230/month for 3-years. After 1-year of drops and $2700, met with Dr. Richardson. Told her I was thinking of stopping since there was no change on my allergies. She got upset, told me the issue was stomach related. Handed me a piece of paper on some gastrointestinal issue, and stated no alcohol, fruit, juice or spicy foods for several weeks until this clears up. Then she stormed out of the room without saying anything except the exit is that way... Great bedside manner. The impression I got was, she only cares about the money! Never offered to switch to the shots, change the serum strength, nothing. I guess I need to go somewhere else! read more

Unfortunately the wait time and staff experience that previous comments posted on Yelp are true. I've had to wait past my scheduled appointment times on both occasions now. The first of them the worse, which was almost an hour wait before I saw the doctor. And some staff aren't as polite as others. I felt bad about an existing patient who just came in to pick up allergy medication and not a single person was at the front. They had to yell out for someone after waiting a while, and the woman who came out was so rude and unapologetic. Seems like someone needed to work on their customer service skills more. Regardless, Ive seen Dr McKenna and he's quite knowledgeable and helpful. Very detailed and informative, which may elude to the delays you experience because he's providing each patient with the appropriate amount of care and attention. His medical assistants have been on point with returning messages and following up on calls. Overall the inside is ok and looks fairly updated; a stocked fridge of bottled water is available as you wait. read more

Dr. Cheung was pleasant for our one year follow up visit but the fact that we saw him for all of ten minutes and yet were sitting there waiting for over two hours to see him is absolutely absurd. Not a single person including the doctor even acknowledged the fact that they made us wait so long or even apologized for the wait. I left work two hours early to bring my daughter here just to spend it sitting in a waiting room. They should have paid me a co-pay to sit there rather than the other way around. Not at all happy with my experience at Valley ENT. Dr. Allison did absolutely nothing for me. I have had Meniere's disease for several years. My ENT who diagnosed and treated me is no longer in the area. He was an awesome doctor. I had been well versed in Meniere's so I know what Dr. Allison could have done for me. All he offered was prednisone which I cannot take. He told me that was his treatment. Referred me to another office, part of Valley ENT specializing in, Otology/Neurotology/Balance Issues, telling me they may have something else and walked out of the room. I am experiencing some vertigo and almost fell getting out of the chair. The gal that gave me the referral paper was very condescending when she told me call asap. There is absolutely no excuse for such rude behavior. He wasn't even pleasant, just abrupt to the point of rudeness. The medical profession has become a business to make money, not caring about the welfare of their patients. I did call the other office and the gal on the phone, after a long hold, being cut off and having to call again just be up on hold, was very abrupt, unpleasant, no care or concern in her voice. No appointment until May, 2 months wait. Ridiculous! read more

I arrived to my appointment earlier than I thought. It was scheduled for 4 p.m., I arrived at 3:15 p.m. No worries, I figured I'd get some work done before being called. I saw patients come and go and overheard another patient (who arrived after me) that he was told the Dr. was an hour or more behind. This was never disclosed to me. When I had arrived the board stated all appointments were on time. I got burned by Dr Shah, the smooth talker who only spent about 6 minutes with me put hit all the extra charge areas including a hearing test I didn't want or ask for. Oh and $105 to take wax out of my ears. I walked out to a shocking $900 bill with his expert diagnosis "to take flonase"! I NEVER leave reviews but my experience was SO bad that I had to. However, to be clear the front desk staff was lovely, so I want to focus on the actual MD I saw. DR.ALISON was so dismissive & uninterested that my whole visit lasted less than 20 minutes. He came in and IMMEDIATELY started the examination without even asking what my concerns were. If he had waited, maybe he would've actually been able to help address them. I suffer from a Fragrance sensitivity (not allergy) that causes frequent sinus and ear infections. Which I told him was being triggered by the hand sanitizer they had in the office. He didn't even wait 2 minutes after using said irritant before examining my nose and mouth (which in turn started making my ears ache). After informing him again, he pumped more of the irritant into his hands so I had to request that he wash them. He rolled his eyes then did. I had to request that he look at my nose again because he spent a total of 56 seconds looking and he when he checked my ears he was sitting in front of me (he didn't ask me to turn my head or anything) so im sure he could barely see into my ears. I felt very unheard and as a minority woman very disregarded (iykyk). I would NEVER suggest this location or doctor to anyone ever. read more

Please read this entire review before visiting Dr. Chuang! I have chronic issues with my throat. Went to see Dr. Chuang. First visit he seemed very knowledgeable. He listed several things that could be the cause: allergies, neurological, GERDs, tonsils (tonsil stones). He ordered two separate CT scans. He ordered allergy tests (however, I was later informed I had to go see an allergist directly because Valley ENT is not paid by the insurance for the tests). He seemed to want to help me figure out why I have a constant bad throat, fatigue, recurring infections, etc. Over the next few weeks I do what the doctor talked about. I saw my gastro doctor, the allergist, the neurologist. I had the scans done. I provided the Valley ENT doctor's office with faxes of the reports. I wanted to provide Dr. Chuang with any and all support he could need to help treat my throat for chronic condition. I kept getting calls from Valley ENT. I was advised of the results of each scan and test by someone at the office, not the doctor. Never did they offer to set up a follow up appointment. I think once they told me a follow up was not needed. Keep in mind, I have a CHRONIC bad throat. So my throat is no better today than it was when I went to him the first time. I called Valley ENT to set up an appointment with Dr. Chuang. The person I spoke with seemed almost shocked that I was setting up an appointment a few weeks in the future for a follow-up. They asked what the reason for the appointment was and I said a follow-up for my bad throat. I go to the office to see Dr. Chuang for the second time. The office has a handwritten sign posted that says Dr. Chuang is 35 minutes behind schedule. A few minutes later the sign was updated to 60 minutes behind. I am finally led back to the room for my appointment. I wait in the room for what felt like a long time. Eventually, Dr. Chuang comes in and he apologizes for the wait, but then starts making comments over and over again about how he was late because I had so many "texts" I sent that he had to read them all. I never sent him any texts. I assume he meant faxes. These were faxes that had the results of tests by the other doctors that he said I should see. He was complaining about those pesky "texts". Again, I think he meant faxes. He sits down and then asks me that general, "okay what can I do for you today" question. I start to tell him the progress I had made with visiting the doctors based on what he told me in the first appointment. He interrupts me. No, he did not want to know that. He wanted to know what was wrong with me. What were my symptoms. I was confused. He just read my chart. I have a CHRONIC issue with my throat. He asked me to start over and tell him my symptoms. Then he promptly interrupted me. Started doing an express version of checking my throat and nose. Meanwhile he is talking about possible causes. I listen as he starts repeating all the things he talked about in the first appointment. It was like he memorized a script. It could be the GERDs, allergies, neurological (I told him the doc said nope to it being nerve related), it could be tonsils and he again told me about how painful an operation would be for a tonsillectomy. All of this was the same thing he said in the original appointment. He is constantly talking and I am thinking wow, deja vu. Suddenly he stopped talking and leaned forward. At that point he was talking about the CT scan of my nasal area. He leaned forward and said, "I'm going to tell you something and it is going to scare you. But I will tell you anyway." He then told me that he had a patient with a clear CT scan, but he then checked the patient's throat and exclaimed, "You need surgery right now! You have throat cancer!" Anyway, he went a bit more, but I was sort of in shock at this point. I had no idea what the hell this guy was telling me this for. Did I have cancer even though my scan was clear? Is he showing off how good he is? Don't trust scans? This appointment was surreal at this point. It ended shortly later and he announced loudly to his assistant outside the room that I did NOT need to schedule a follow-up. She smiled. It felt like this whole thing was like a practical joke. However, it was real. So, during my "follow-up" I did not: - find out if my throat has improved, degraded or remained the same from the first visit and as a result of other meds prescribed by other doctors. - see either CT Scan report or the associated film. Dr. Chuang did NOT walk me through any of the information. I have never received a copy of the reports from him or his office. - get a chance to consult on the other scan of my throat that is of lumps in my throat. I was told over the phone earlier that all was good because they were the same size as before. He has never gone over the report. I have no idea what it means that they have not grown other than it is considered good? I'm filing a grievance with the insurance company and State. read more

I called for an appointment and had to leave a message, never got a call back. When I was finally able to speak with someone I was able to schedule an appointment six weeks out. I took a couple hours off of work and arrived 20 minutes early as instructed. I waited 40 minutes before I was taken back to a room, then another 20 minutes by myself before the provider made it to me. It's infuriating that their time is important, not mine. read more

Yuck...I should have read all the 1 star yelp reviews before I even picked up my phone and called this place. After waiting on hold for 5 solid minutes of terrible 80's music I was very coldly greeted by the so-called receptionist BECKY, who right off the bat had a short, unfriendly, and cold tone to her voice. You could pick up immediately they she has zero warmth at all. I asked her a few simple questions regarding insurance and billing, and before my sentence was even finished she blurted out "We only take insured patients, we don't accept anything else" in the most elitist, arrogant, and condensing tone possible. I was absolutely taken back with how anyone in a front office could talk to people like that. She made it sound like I was some kind of peasant and her highness was just royalty, Ohhhh becky, how dare I offend thee with my questions, I'm so sorry to disturb you, shall I let thee be to eat cake and have a glass of wine too? Poor Becky, the queen of cold receptions. This miserable woman at the front desk was so rude to me and talking to her was such a turn off I immediately hung up and swore off this miserable office for good. I urge anyone and everyone to look elsewhere, because if the receptionist is this bad, I don't want to know how bad the professionals are. I can't wait for the little cutesy, corporate, copy paste reply from the office manager/owner telling me how sorry they are, pffft, you people know exactly what you're doing: treating people like dirt and getting away with it. You don't care one bit, your arrogance and condescending attitudes are absolutely despicable. Shame on you for your treatment of fellow human beings. First off, Dr. McKenna gets 5 stars for being amazing. The knock down is for scheduling. He is so amazing, everyone wants him and it's almost impossible to get a follow up. As a current patient, they moved back my appointment time twice from what I marked down. When I called to reschedule, I was told the next available appointment for current patients is June...I am writing this in late February. It wasn't until I said no, I will just not bring her back, the appointment setter said she could look for another dr. Really? Three+ months out for a 5 minute check to see of the last tube has come out yet. Sorry, Dr. McKenna, you are so good, your office ended up creating a bad experience in all other aspects...until you walk in the room. Clone yourself, perhaps? read more

I, too, am surprised at some of these reviews. Dr. McKenna and Dr. Linae Smith, my audiologist, have been nothing short of amazing every time I have encountered them. I have always been treated with respect by every front office person I have had an interaction with. Yes, it is a busy office and there is a reason for that...these folks are very very good at what they do. More than once, I have had one of the ladies up front chase down some information for me, which they always have volunteered to do, while the doctors were busy. Never a problem, never an attitude. Professional and polite are the two words I would use to sum up my experiences here. I have Tinnitus and have been fitted for hearing aids that have made a big difference in the quality of my life. How do you put that into a starred rating? If I could give them more stars, I would. Not sure where some of these people are coming from. read more

Dr Allison is an absolute joke for a doctor. I suffered a traumatic neck injury causing my Adam's Apple to shift to one side combined with pain and difficulty breathing. I visited Dr Allison and he looked in my ears, my nose, my throat and said "I see nothing wrong". I asked him to look at my neck, specifically my Adam's Apple, and his only comment was "well what do you see?" Honestly, I think a blind person can see the issue. His only recommendation was to try physical therapy! Unbelievable. My 3 minutes was up and he rushed me out of the office. Does he even have a degree? read more

You couldn't have called me and saved me from wasting 45 minutes of my time sitting in your waiting room? I arrived 30 minutes prior to my scheduled time, per your policy. I spent more time re-filling paperwork you lost after my previous visit. And then you say it would be crazy to provide courtesy calls to patients who would be affected by the doctor being late. Your customer service is abysmal. The only saving grace at this point is my hope for a good result. In previous years a multiple visits, my issue went unsolved by Dr Chung, so I am starting anew with Dr McKenna. ( Apologies for any misspellings of the Dr names. ) read more

Shocked by the low reviews for this provider because my experience has been amazing. From scheduling the first appointment, seeing Dr. Chuang and follow up appointments, all have been done with ease and so professionally. Dr. Chuang is amazing. He takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and allows your questions and input. When seeing him, it's very much a mutual decision about your health with his recommendations and extensive knowledge to help make choices on next steps. While waiting to see him the first time I overheard a patient leaving and thanking him. He said "thank you for explaining everything so well, no one does that." I understood his sentiment because I left my appointment feeling blessed and confident that I had a doctor who genuinely cares. When scheduling follow up tests and exams the staff (especially Valerie) was also amazing. Very responsive and caring. read more

I showed up as a new patient only 15 minutes early but was able to complete all paperwork in 15 minutes. Front staff was pleasant. I'm VERY impressed with Dr. Richardson - she looked down my throat (never fun) with her scope and was able to see a part of my throat that my previous ENT (from a different place) was not able to see. If I could give this place a zero I would. Every appointment we have had, we show up on time and then sit in the waiting room for 30-45 min. Then when we do get called back we wait again. At my daughters appointment today (3:30pm), I asked the receptionist at 4:05pm when we would be going back. She told me it would be another 15 minutes before we would even get called back. When I asked why they don't schedule accordingly the receptionist tried to be professional but came across very snarky told me that their doctors run behind because they give each patient the right amount of time and people ask questions and they doctor gives the appropriate amount of time needed to answer the questions. THEN SCHEDULE ACCORDINGLY. It is so disrespectful to your patients to make us show up and then sit there and wait. I can understand if this happens one time, but it has happened every time we have had to come to our daughters check ups. It is now 4:30 and we still haven't been seen.... Finally, don't expect to call and get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time. I cant ever get my daughters 4 month check ups schedule when they are 4 months out. Hire more doctors or do something different because what you are doing is horrible customer service. After we get our tubes removed from our daughters ears we will never be coming back to this facility. Absolutely disrespectful and such a waste of time sitting there waiting for the doctor to be done. Like I said...schedule accordingly!!!! read more
