I called them to find out how much they charged for a Brazilian blowout for long thick hair. They quoted me $250, so I asked if they would have availability Saturday or Sunday of the current week or the following. The receptionist asked if I had been there before and if I could come during the week instead. I was a bit surprised that she had the audacity to ask me to come in on a different day when I offered 4 possible dates. As I previously mentioned I have long hair which takes about 3-4 hours to process (and have a full time job that doesn't allow for much else during the week). She explained that they get very busy on weekends and if they agreed to see me then they would lose out on clientele. This should have been an obvious indicator to avoid this place, but I was desperate. I got there and I waited about 15 minutes bc I had an appointment with Sima, and apparently she was still busy so her daughter started washing my hair. I was under the impression that Sima would actually do my hair but her daughter mixed the product and started sloppily applying directly onto my scalp. Anyone who has ever had or done a Brazilian blowout should know that it's a strong product full of formaldehyde that should absolutely not be applied to the scalp. She then used a paddle brush to spread the chemical. She pushed hard and deep into my scalp. When she started blow drying she immediately began complaining about the odor and put on a mask and put on a fan for herself. 30 minutes later she finally asked if I was ok with the strong odor. Although Sima finished up after the second wash, the damage was done. I was in immense pain from the chemical seeping into my skin from the intense brushing, and my scalp began peeling in chunks the size of fingernails.
