This used to be my favorite nail salon, unfortunately not anymore! The manager "ViVi" is the RUDEST person I've ever met and she treats her employees very bad in front of the customers. I was seven months pregnant and needed a manicure so I went there since it's close to where I live. The guy doing my nails was super nice, I asked him for a thinner, shorter nails with a natural color and he was more than happy to help me. VieVie kept coming to the table saying stuff in a mean way to him. She was talking to me normally then she got super mad when she knew that the last time I got my nails done at SM. I told her that her prices are expensive, I've been getting my nails done since forever and I know how much a reasonable mani/pedi should cost but I'm not complaining about that. I live locally but I go to LA and to Santa Maria a lot so I get them done there professionally with less price. She went crazy when she knew that and she told me "If you call next time I'm not gonna give you an appointment" WTH! She needs to fix her rude attitude first before getting mad at the customers for not choosing her place. I'm paying for your service and on top of it this is a free country, Who are you to tell me where I should get my nails done?! Go learn how to be professional, Zero stars! read more

While I was there she managed to be totally rude with me and another girl sitting by me who just ended up leaving. I wish I did too but she already started my nails but if I can save someone from this b***h I'd be happy. SO RUDE. I had an appointment at 4:45 and was a few minutes late due to it being a busy Saturday and trouble finding parking. As soon as I walked in the energy was off and the woman, (I didn't even get her name because she was to busy scolding me) treated me with so much disrespect for being FIVE MINUTES LATE! She began criticizing me calling me a no show tourist and said that I was rude for not calling to let her know I'm 5 late. I am a local and this town has no phone service so how would I have called and let her know? And why the animosity towards tourists? Doesn't she realize it's a tourist town?? Rude rude rude! She said she already called a client and told them to come take my place!! After 5 mins? So then I said ok well can I stay for my service and she rolled her eyes called her client saying that I decided to show up after all. Then told me I cannot pick two different nail and toe nail colors because I am so late. they had to be the same and by this time I was in tears under my covid mask because of the way she was speaking to me and she told me that it is cash only "CAN YOU NOT READ THE SIGN?!!" Never been here before, nice and clean inside. The chairs water tub was filled when we sat down. Had a nice pedi, had 2 toes skin trimmed too close on each foot which bled slightly. I cannot recommend Valley nails enough. It is the only salon I go to. Such a clean salon, friendly staff, and you cannot beat the quality of the nails. Takes COVID very seriously and are taking all of the precautions necessary. ViVie does my dips and I have never once had a nail break, lift, or chip. They literally last forever. I went to valley nails and spa in solvang today to get my nails and have never been had such a humiliating experience in my life. I have a crib called in my hands called Hyperhidrosis which causes my hands to sweat more than normal. I have been getting manicures since I was a teenager with no problems. The woman who owns this salon treated me with such disrespect and humiliated me in front of all the other customers as if I was disgusting and contagious that me and my fourteen year old daughter both walked out in tears! So while on vacation I decided to go to valley nails for a gel mani/pedi. I was able to walk in without a wait which was nice. John took care of me. Best experience ever! Not only did he treat me with care due to a painful callus on my little toe but he also did some reflexology on my feet. Places I go back home never do this. It felt amazing. The shop is renovated with new chairs that are sanitary. Each bowl is covered and even the water flow is replaced each time. John is wonderful and gives you what you want!! He even saved my ingrown toenail (not an easy feat). This nail spa is outstanding!!! Vivie (owner) is very involved and takes great care of all her clients. The space is clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed. There is convenient parking as well. I've never been a fan of manicures as I work so much with my hands, but the staff here is extremely talented with doing "dips" and now I get them once a month. My hands have never looked better!!!! I've been coming here since I moved to Solvang in November 2018. It's best to call for an appointment. Vivie, the owner, always accommodates my preferred time and always greets me warmly, ready to go. The salon is clean and the manicurists are efficient and friendly. The only drawback is that the staff changes frequently. So, when I get someone who's really good, she may not be there for long. They also have a wide variety of fashion forward colors which is nice when I don't bring my own polish. It's always a nice bit of pampering! read more
