Found this on yelp, the ladies here were so friendly and accommodating. Coming from out of town we hit traffic and they still took us 30 mins late. They have great sense of humors and we're very honest. I got regular polish and it did come off my fingers within a day which was a bummer but we went back and they were quick to touch it up no problem.... but 3 weeks later it's still on my toes. Excellent service!! I came here on the 4th of July not knowing for sure if they'd be open but to my surprise they were! There was only one lady working (Hong?) & she was so nice and extremely professional. She let me know that she had two appointments at 11 am (I came in at 10:45) and if I wanted to stop by later for my mani/pedi. I was desperate to get my nails done as I had an event later on in the day and asked her if a manicure was possible in that time frame. She was so graceful and accommodating to my needs that she agreed to do it. At that point, I knew there wouldn't be enough time for a full service but rather the basic cleaning+ polish, which I was fine with. Despite the time constraint, she did a thorough job and did not skip over a thing! Lucky for me, the two 11 am appointments pushed back their time & I was able to squeeze in my pedicure as well! She did a great job for both my mani and pedi - no messy polish, odd nail shapes, or any mistakes. The salon itself is one of the cleanest I've ever been to. No tools laying around or heavy smell of acetone. The place smells of incense which makes it relaxing and almost spa-like. The cleanliness of the place is definitely worthy of noting. If you're looking to get your nails done, I definitely recommend this place for their cleanliness, good service, and fair prices! read more

I love the fact that Vivie takes her time and does a spotless job every time. When you come to Solvang and you are looking to relax, Valley Nails is the spot! $40 for a mani-pedi is a good deal (says the girl who lives in overpriced LA). Includes a foot scrub and paraffin for hands (although too hot). The ladies were all nice and attentive. $10 for gel removal and they have you soak your fingers in acetone (without filing surface first) which is not ideal way to do this in my opinion. Absolutely fantastic job! My mom had a huge black bruise on her big toe and they were able to sand the entire thing off so she could have a matching French mani and pedi. The gel lasted three weeks and the staff was so nice. It's a small place though, so make sure to schedule and appointment and don't be surprised if you have wait a few minutes before they can get you started. read more

Longest lasting gel manicure I've had! It's been two weeks and the nails have only just started to flake at the bottom where my nails have grown out. That's saying something, since as a nurse I'm very rough on my hands, and use a lot of hand sanitizer. The service was great, and they have a good selection of regular and gel polishes. I have been going to Valley Nails & Spa for almost a year. I started off getting a gel manicure then was introduced to the dip powder and I fell in love. For this reason, I am editing my review and adding another star. You don't always get customer service as she gives. I left a happy customer! I really was extremely happy with my time spent at the salon and with my nails when I left. (Or so I thought) Now that I am home and looking at my freshly done nails, I'm realizing that they are not 5 star quality at all! And that kinda breaks my heart cuz I left so happy! I'm very particular about my nails - I like them done a certain way, as I would assume most of you ladies do. I understand that every nail technician has their own style and way of doing things, but this is hardly close to what I wanted. 1) they're still too long. After I asked her to cut them down more, a few times. I serve and bartend so any wrong move and my entire nail either breaks or rips off (not a fun feeling) 2) they're all still too rounded. I asked her to flatten them on top. 3) there's nail polish still all over my fingers (this one is the least of my worries) 4) THEY ARE CROOKED! One thumb nail is so off that it's totally noticeable. It's like she did it while holding my thumb at the angle it sits when you lay your hand down on the table. And each nail has a high left or right side while the opposing side is slightly lower. I'm going to have to go through and refile them myself to make them more symmetrical. On top of that. They are PRICEY. I paid $32 more (that's including a tip) than I usually do for work I ended up not being completely happy with And parking sucks. So if you do go, make sure you give yourself plenty of time to find parking. I have lived in the Valley for 8 years and a good nail salon is hard to come by. When I first visited Valley Nails I had a great experience with the women who did my gel manicure and pedicure, but I found the owner, Vivi to be a little abrasive to her staff, as well as myself. During my third visit, I noticed animosity between the Owner and the women who were doing my nails, they were exchanging words and raising their voices. The woman doing my gel manicure told me Vivi was trying to take some of their tip money from a previous Client. At the end of my manicure I watched two employees quit on the spot. The hostility that the Owner displayed in front of her customers was horrific whether these women were right or wrong to leave on the spot. When I returned to her shop to get my nails done weeks after, I requested a specific nail technician and she told me it was her day off so she can't service me. I said anyone would do and she said no, we don't have what you need here as if she had some animosity towards me for witnessing what I saw during my last visit. I find Vivi very unprofessional and lacking any customer service. I rather drive to Goleta to get my nails done than give that woman any more of my business. read more

Made last minute appointments for my friend Vanessa and I while in town for a business meeting and we were both VERY happy! I had the regular manicure and pedicure and both were perfect! John helped me pick the perfect color for my nails. Vanessa got last minute upgrades and asked for a gel pedicure and a full for her acrylics and they not only did Vivie and Tracy accommodate her requests, they made her existing acrylics BETTER! I was super excited to find this place on Yelp, due to all the high reviews. But when my mom and I got to the shop it was 4pm on a Saturday, they put my mom in the seat for her pedicure and they left her there with cold water for an hour while they served people who came in after us. When I was getting my manicure done, the guy doing my nails kept sighing like I was wasting his time. He didn't paint all of my nails (sides and tip) and then I had got one glitter nail on each hand and right after he put the glitter on my nail he put on the top coat (the nail was still 100% wet) which caused the glitter to transfer onto the top coat brush and then he put it on my other nail which caused glitter to go onto my other nails where I didn't want glitter. I was finished with my manicure (a fill) before they even started my mom's manicure. After waiting for an hour they finally got to my mom's manicure but they rushed through it and did a bad job, my mom wanted pink nail polish but the lady had got red on my mom's nails and then tried to just get it off with her nail and once she saw that my mom was watching her she then just covered the mistake with more nail polish. They got nail polish all over our skin and just left it. They also didn't clean the tub for the manicures. I will not be returning. read more

I was super excited to come here after reading reviews. I stayed for the weekend and decided to check this place out. There was no wait which was great. I wouldn't have mind waiting though. Anyway, the ladies were friendly and I told them I wanted a regular manicure. What irritated me was that the lady that was doing my manicure kept getting distracted chatting with the other one and filed my nails so badly and I totally felt like she was rushing me. To make matters worse, the manicure only lasted me about 30 minutes. My nails wouldn't dry up due to such a thich coat that the lady applied. I came in today with my friend who is 9 months pregnant, we wanted to get her nails done before the baby is born. We came in around 3 in the afternoon and all the manicurists were busy which is fine , we didn't mind waiting. We initially told them we wanted pedicure and manicure for us both but while waiting we decided on pedi and acrylics. The lady that got me started was extremely rude. I didn't catch her name but she was tall and looked like she was the youngest of the bunch. When we told her we changed our minds she seems bothered by it and irritated which is weird because I'm obviously paying for it. She got me started with a pedi and somewhat changed her attitude when she noticed I was being short with her after she threw a fit when we changed our minds. She also rushed my pedi , I swear I wasn't in the pedi chair longer then 10 minutes. It seems she wanted to just get me out of the way. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because of the lady that did my acrylic. She was nice and She actually took her time and focused on what it is that I wanted. On President's Day, my teenage daughter and I went in for pedicures. We arrived literally 5 MINUTES after our Noon appointment, and when another customer came in at 12:30 the manager made a big deal out of it, saying they were behind because we were late. Wow! Their poor skills at organizing their schedules were blamed on us and we were made to feel as if we did something horrible. It was very awkward. Then to make matters worse, my toenails were cut too short and 3 days later my toes are still sensitive to the touch. And the cuticle on my big toe was bleeding after the pedicure. Coincidence? Hmm. I literally left this place crying. Today is my wedding day, so my mom and I made an appointment for 9:00 this morning and we were told there would be two people to help us with our nails so we could get them done together. When we walked in, there was another customer being worked on, and when we asked if someone else would be coming, like she told us they would be, she became very short and rude. We told her we needed to be on schedule for our appointments, and luckily the other customer was nice enough to let us go before her. My mom came to stand next to me, while she aggressively started my manicure, and she told my mom that she needed to sit down. Hurt and confused, my mom asked "I just want to spend time with my daughter on her wedding day." She very rudely told my mom that she needed to sit down immediately. My mom walked out, very upset, and made us another appointment somewhere else. During the time my mom was gone, the other patient customer sitting in the chair asked how many bridesmaids I was having at my wedding. The lady doing my nails shot her a dirty look, so I explained to the customer, "i guess we are not supposed to talk." My mom came back in and told me that we are leaving, and I cried partially out of joy that we Were leaving, and partially because of how I had just been treated, when we were nothing but nice. read more
