I had a massage today and afterwords was told that my tip was not enough and that I needed to tip more. I'm a bartender so I know how to tip and tip well so the fact that I was being told my tip wasn't enough was insane. Definitely ruined my post-massage vibe.

While the massage was perfectly fine, the hair treatment has left my hair incredibly damaged. I have breakage everywhere, but primarily concentrated around the forehead, temple, and neck area. The actual hair treatment experience was rough, the individual used nails rather than the pads of her fingers; scraped my scalp with a hard tool over and over in the same areas. Also utilized a rubber brush to rip through my hair while it was wet with excessive force. In the moment it was happening, I thought surely she knew what she was doing. Surely, this is just part of the process. I get home and see the damage, and now I just have to wait until my hair grows back. I'm trying to take this on the chin, but god is it demoralizing to discover the hair you worked hard to take care of and keep long and healthy is just... well ruined.

I was previously with Massage Envy in town and wasn't happy with their services. I felt the front staff wasn't friendly and I just prefer Thai Spa's massages. They have been great here both times. I pulled up Yelp and saw Thai Spa and decided to give it a try. Pictures looked nice, reviews have said it's clean so I called them up and got myself an appointment that works for me. They did require you to put your credit card down for the reservation in case of a no-show, which is totally fair. When I got there it was very clean and I might have been the last person for the day. The owner who greeted me was extremely kind and sweet. The masseuse was Chinese speaking so the language barrier was a little bit harder, but the overall massage was pretty good. I appreciated how accommodating the owner was which is why I'm giving it five stars. Overall the cleanliness is above average so I would choose this over the Asian foot spas even though it's a little bit pricier.

I called about an hour prior to the time I wanted and they gave me a slot. I opted for a 90 minutes Thai massage. It was more like the regular chinese massage but there were some stretching done. They use oil to massage my back and wiped it off with hot towel after. The masseuse had good strength and pressure points which I appreciate. You get slightly lower rates if you pay with cash. Before I could even get dressed, I was repeatedly asked how much I was going to tip and was told the tip had to be paid in cash. I had actually planned on leaving a generous tip, but being pressured and demanded to tip immediately changed that. Oh, and let's not forget that they also require you to pay for the massage upfront before the service even begins. When I questioned why I was being pressured over a tip, the employee tried to block the door and insisted that every customer is required to tip. Tipping should be voluntary, and situations like this make the overall experience very uncomfortable. Tipping culture is getting completely out of control, especially at some of these massage parlors.

Do NOT go here. I would recommend that you go literally anywhere else. Trust me…read more I do not often leave reviews, but I wanted to make sure I left a review because of how terrible the massage was & because I want to warn anybody considering going to this place. I came here yesterday evening with my partner for the 90 minute massage (60-min body & 30-min feet + heat therapy). Absolutely NOT worth it. After discussion with my partner post-massage, we both agreed on the same flaws & the lack of true massage skills. Speaking on behalf of myself and my partner: First of all, the entire massage was lesser-skilled than that of a beginner or novice masseuse. The massage "therapist" only used her knuckles to massage me the whole time. She caused so much uncomfortable friction & pain to many parts of my body. Informing the masseuse not to use her knuckles to massage would not have corrected the comfort of the massage; It was essentially a skill error. By the 30-minute mark, I tried to enjoy it, but the masseuse continued to massage every single part of my body with her knuckles. I'm sure there are good massages out there using the technique of knuckles, but this masseuse was rubbing the same area back & forth rapidly as if she were trying to remove an air bubble from wallpaper. She could not tell that I was suffering in pain (I jerked, flinched, & groaned many times) as she applied heavy knuckle force on my bony areas. We could tell that these two masseuse did not know anything about basic muscle anatomy; Why on Earth were they digging into our bony prominences thinking that would feel good for anyone? I recall, during the massage, I was thinking, "This woman cannot be a massage therapist. She must be the front desk lady or just a random friend they called up to accommodate two customers (myself & my partner)." She did not know what she was doing; It felt like she was guessing about what to do. She was rushing, moving too rapid with no care for comfort, or consideration for satisfaction. When the hot stones came in, she dropped the hot stones on my back as if she was throwing feed to the chickens! Why did she not place them slowly & carefully like a real massage therapist would do? She dropped them on my back from a height high enough for me to feel slight spinal pain upon landing. Even with the hot stones, she was running them on my body like a child painting for the first time on their home walls; Too chaotic, too forceful, too discomforting. I was hoping the foot massage would be better since I usually prefer getting feet massages anyway, but it got worse! She began use her forceful, rapid back-&-forth knuckle technique on my ankles, shins, & knees. Again, I expressed discomfort & pain when I groaned & jerked my limbs away from her, but she grabbed my limbs, put them back in place, & continued. At the end, my partner and I then immediately expressed our dissatisfaction with the massage having very similar points on the reasons we did not like the massage. We almost did not give a tip because of how terrible it was, but we knew it was the considerate thing to do because of their time. We gave our tips to both massage therapists at the end, only for both to stop us from exiting the building saying, "You give more tip. We spent long time massaging you." My partner and I looked at each other at surprise of how entitled & disgusting their behavior was. We said, "We are giving this tip amount based on how we liked the service." The massage therapists at said, "You give more now!" We said, "Is that a requirement?" The massage therapist said, "Well, I had customer one time give me much more for 90-minute massage." We said, "This is the amount that we're only going to give you." They rushed to the register & said, "We do credit card tips, c'mon!" My partner and I looked at each other with deep concern & ran out of the building for our safety & timely exit. Easily in the top 3 worst massages I have ever received in my entire life. Mind you, I get massages about 1-2x a month & have gotten various types of massages throughout Japan, Thailand, & many parts of the US; but this massage was absolutely & utterly terrible.

A massage chair honestly would've been better. The therapist talked the entire time and seemed…read moredistracted, pressing on bones instead of muscles which made it pretty painful.
