Yum! A little bit more peachy color than typical, but super delicious.

Very hip coffee shop and use of space. If you walk into Mabel's Kitchen, then you are also walking into Valparaiso. There is a menu full of coffee, but I'm more of a tea drinker. I was excited to see Thai Tea at this location, so I ordered a large, to get a full sample of this refreshment. It was around 9:00 am, but there were not many people sitting or ordering coffee. Yay! As I was waiting for the tea I noticed the customers here seem to be regulars because the baristas are extra friendly and talkative about what that person is doing for vacation and they know exactly how to make their drink. It was nice to see this type of interaction. When my tea was ready, it looked a bit peachier in color than I'm used to. Thai tea seems to be a bit of a burnt orange color. I tasted the tea and it was probably the smoothest Thai Tea I've ever tasted. It is not overpowering, but it is not too creamy. I will definitely be adding this location in my tea rotation!

It feels like this place does not belong in Fresno, and this is a compliment. Hidden in Bitwise building, it is quite spacious with a decent number of seating spots. It certainly has a personality, like most coffee shops in SF do, but also offers really nice customer service that is not hurried unlike in the big city - a perfect combination. I ordered a cappuccino and was asked if I wanted it "wet" or "dry". I must say, I had to ask what that meant. Apparently "wet" cappuccino does not have as much foam as "dry" does, which surprisingly (and ashamedly) I did not know. My cappuccino was great, the only negative is that they don't offer organic milk, which would bring this shop to 5 stars, in my opinion. My friend ordered a dirty chai. It was a bit too sweet for my liking, but had excellent flavor otherwise. She liked it. There is a parking garage a block away that offers first hour of parking for free and second hour at $4, if you need to stay longer. Otherwise, there is metered street parking right in front of the coffee shop.

Found this cute little place during the Veterans Day parade. This coffee shop is in the Bitwise Building, 1st Floor. It is located on Van Ness Ave and Mono St., across from the DAV thrift stores. There is metered street parking, but keep in mind I came by on a Saturday, not sure what it's like during week. Customer service was great. The girl that took my order (I didn't catch her name) was friendly. I had a dirty chai latte which was really yummy, and my son had chocolate milk. Must have been great because he drank the whole cup. Normally, he doesn't care for chocolate milk. Since I was visiting from out-of-State, I wasn't able to try other items on the menu. However, when I do return to Fresno, I'll make sure to come by this place again. I'm from Fresno, so of course I have to make a trip to downtown. Especially now that's it's undergone so many changes.

We first heard about this place through a waitress at a restaurant in King's Canyon National Park. Otherwise, we really would have never known about it. It's a little place set back from the street in downtown Fresno, right next to US Immigrations/Customs Office. It's only open Monday to Friday until 3pm so it's for the people who work downtown and also, for those who visit the US Immigration Office. Because we work out of the area Monday-Friday, we would not be the type of clientele that this place targets. Nonetheless, it was a nice coffee break on vacation time. Because the owner is from Valparaiso, Chile, my Chilean Mother-in-Law was very pleased to finally have hot coffee that reminded her of Chile. They drink their coffee very hot but not as strong we do in the US. The latte I had was very good and the coffee is strong enough to compete with an energy drink (I mean my mother-in-law was racing the countdown hand in the crosswalk after). But the flavor was soft enough to enjoy. The prices are very reasonable and the sandwich, the coffee cake (which was huge), & the chocolate muffin (which was very moist) were all great. Once in awhile, we get lucky enough to meet another Chilean in Fresno & this place is one opportunity to do so+enjoy good coffee. If you're downtown during the work week, be sure to check them out.

It's a small coffee shop in a good location when in the downtown Fresno area. I liked their Cola de Mono drink!

We stopped by this morning and tried lattes (tuxedo, caramel/vanilla, almond roca), drip coffee, cold brews, breakfast sandwiches, & bagel sandwiches. Everything hit the spot, and I loved that you can ask for items half sweet will be returning soon!

Hands down the best London Fog latte. I am a tea snob and their latte is my favorite, the best in town. These people also know their coffee beans and how to keep their customers happy. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I'm happy to support their business.

Tried this new place for the first time and it did not disappoint. Customer service was great and the ambiance is really nice and laid back. Walking distance from Fresno City Hall and Federal Court House. Will going back to try out other coffees and food.

1) The coffee is legit one of the best I've ever had! They do pour over, so it takes some time...and time...I feel they could better explain this, as I waited about 6 mins for a fresh coffee. But it was worth it! Oh yeah! 2) The cafe is laid back and has lots of different seating options. Table, comfy chairs, etc...Although there doesn't appear to be free wifi. If there is, then it isn't communicated anywhere at all. -1 star 3) Food options are basically left to another business connected to the cafe. The prices are outrageous. No thanks. -1 star. Good coffee, expect to wait, no wifi, expensive food.

The best!!!!

This place is my new favorite! The employees are always super nice and helpful with any questions. I'm a "Chai Latte" kind of girl and the way they make theirs surpasses the rest. It has really good flavor and the notes of cinnamon make it that much better. My husband always get the "Caramel Mocha" and he absolutely loves it!!

They are so warm and welcoming here. So refreshing to see such positive energy in the morning. They greeted me from the second I walked into the door and actually acknowledged my presence even before I made an order. Most other coffee shops completely ignore you until you stand in line and are ready to order aka Starbucks -_- the double hazelnut latte I order was AMAZING. Literally the best coffee I've ever had. I'll definitely be back. Check out this hidden gem and support your local businesses.

Our cappuccino from here was just OK... Just too much milk. Gotta get those proportions right.

I finally decided to stop in with my 5 y/o son. The outside decor and ambiance were adorable and the merchandise had fun designs. Unfortunately, the interaction with the owner completely changed the experience. He seemed irritated from the moment I ordered a hot chocolate for my son, correcting me in a rude and dismissive tone that it was "hot cocoa" and annoyedly asking how many I wanted. I said one and then asked if they had a menu so I could see what type of coffee they offered. That simple question also seemed to frustrate him and he dismissively responded, "It's just coffee," while shaking his head. His overall tone came across as arrogant, annoyed, and dismissive over normal questions, which made the interaction uncomfortable. I was shocked by the attitude, especially from a business owner. Maybe he was having a bad day, and I do see many positive reviews, but I also noticed other reviews mentioning similar experiences with the owner. It's disappointing because we were really looking forward to trying this place. I ended up saying never mind and leaving. My son didn't understand why we walked out without getting what we came for and I explained that I didn't want to support a business where customers are treated rudely. I truly hope the owner is doing okay and is able to treat customers more respectfully in the future because it seems like there's a great product behind the business. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to try it.

The store itself is small and not much room for a line. I tried the cardamom vanilla latte and asked for it less sweet. It was really good with just the right amount of sweetness to spice. However, my friend had never been here before and ordered a cubano which she didn't realize was so small. She couldn't believe how small the cup was and it was way too sweet. Unfortunately, when we went back up to the counter to try and exchange it for something else we feel we didn't get the best service. They eventually gave my friend some milk foam to mix it with to tone it down, but she was overall unhappy with her experience. I know the menu probably described what she was ordering but since it was her first time there, she was a little overwhelmed with the menu and could have used some guidance. Also my other friend asked about getting a certain coffee and felt talked down to from the woman at the register like she was an idiot. She says it is not the first time this woman has been rude, as she has been here before and had the same rude service. It is too bad, because overall this place has good coffee and a cute ambience in the back patio, but with the consistently poor service we won't be back.
