I recognize this is a business and they do generate some sales from the state inspection but the experience is night and day between this place and a dealer. The tires on my car were getting low (still passed inspection) and they suggested I should consider getting new tires and let me go with a price sheet of tires available to me. I genuinely appreciated this no-pressure method. In the past when I did my inspection, there were a few instances of needing minor things, but still, no high pressure dealer sales garbage. Techs were nice enough...but if you're going to tell me you checked the cabin filter, wipers, & air filter...at least open the glove box and PRETEND to take it out, open the filter holder door, remove and examine the filter, then put it all back! When paying the bill, I was notified they couldn't fill my empty windshield washer because they were out of fluid! I suggested that one of the techs (who until I drove in was working on the engine of his own parked car in the parking area behind the bays) should have gone across the street and bought several gallons of WW fluid since it is a part of the oil change service...especially important during this time of year! The suggesion was met by two different excuses..."we're busy" (THEY WERE NOT!) and "there's only two of us" (THAT IS TRUE). Bottom line...in a business like this, you need an on-site dependable manager to teach and motivate young, inexperienced workers important customer service skills they will need throughout their lifetime to be successful in whatever they do.

Though late they greeted us good morning, got signed on to their computers quickly and were very efficient in signing us in. They explained that they still have a backlog of work from the July 4th weekend. Surprisingly I only waited for 10 minutes before a technician took the car in. The inspection lasted about 20 minutes, they found something minor (need for power steering fluid to be topped off), definitely met the service I've requested. They offered that they could order the fluid and do the work or to go to parts store. Very friendly, efficient, knowledgeable/ informative crew.

I've always been hesitant of finding new shops and I was new to the area. My time with ProTime has always been friendly, reasonably timed, and never in doubt. I'm always freaked out that I'm going to drive away and - SURPRISE! - check engine light. But not here. My '08 Escape runs without reservation. Last, and certainly not least, once my wife and I went in and the guy tells us that he noticed the paint marks on the side of our car from a pole we'd recently scraped against and asked if he wanted to wait a second to see if he could help. I wasn't vague about it -- I clearly explained the issue and expected at least a basic attempt to identify it. The truck passed inspection, I was charged (including an extra fee for using a debit card), and I was told they couldn't find the noise. After moving out of state and getting the truck inspected again, the problem was identified almost immediately: a bad sway bar bushing causing the rear suspension to rattle around. Obvious enough that another shop spotted it right away. So I'm left wondering: how does a shop performing a state inspection miss a suspension issue I specifically pointed out, involving a loud metal-on-metal clank, and then charge extra on top of it? If you bring your vehicle here with an actual problem, you may want a second opinion.

Welcome Mays chasers…read more. Anyone with a car past 1970 beware. Went in for state inspection with no warning lights, no squeaking noises, or anything. Left out the door with tire pressure warning lights, light bulbs not working and brakes squealing. Brought it back the next day, they claimed the car was too advanced for their knowledge. Almost 60 bucks to replace a light bulb and charged triple the price of brake pads to replace them. Lastly they charge a 3% fee on all card transactions and they don't accept American Express cards. Will definitely not return there again.
