I've been going here for years now to get my car inspected. As someone who can work on cars, I get frustrated with all the you NEED, this sales tactics. I recognize this is a business and they do generate some sales from the state inspection but the experience is night and day between this place and a dealer. The tires on my car were getting low (still passed inspection) and they suggested I should consider getting new tires and let me go with a price sheet of tires available to me. I genuinely appreciated this no-pressure method. In the past when I did my inspection, there were a few instances of needing minor things, but still, no high pressure dealer sales garbage. I was Southern Hyundai the day before, and they quoted me over $800 to fix a plastic panel on the driver's side door. The OEM parts were less than $100 and a 15-minute job. After that quote, Southern gave me another quote to replace a leaking wiper pump for $900(+|-). I couldn't trust the legitimacy of the quote after their quote for the small plastic panel. Stripped out my oil plug and didn't tell me. Car leaked oil all over skid plate and driveway. No accountability.

I normally go to espress oil changes for my oil changes for all of my SUVs. Normally I just pull up I may wait 10 or 15 minutes at most but then I am out quickly with oil change and fluids checked. The team that does the oil changes are normally very polite and very helpful. Any questions I may have the insured to answer accordingly! I use a higher grade synthetic blend oil for my older SUVs newer SUV that's not require but they always have coupons and so the value for what we get is great! read more

While I was on my way to the car I noticed I had a flat tire. After a quick inspection I noticed that I had a nail. I was in a rush I do I pulled in this spot to get a quick pa tch. When parking I was greeted by one of the mechanics. I told her my issue and she called the titre guy over to check out my tire and give me a quote. They took my car... Took off my tire and saw that I had two nails and fixed me right up. The place is brand new and the techs were friendly. I met the owner as well. read more

I am livid with the service here. Never coming here again. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. They will take advantage of you and straight up lie about what was discussed. I am sure people who don't know anything about cars love this place while their wallets get emptied. Part of it is my fault. I was easy to take advantage of. The long version: I came for a state inspection because Virginia likes to subsidize the auto repair scam business foolishly every single year. I passed inspection so at least they did that properly but they stated my brake pads were worn and close to failing inspection but not quite there. Fine - I would expect this as the car has not pads replaced in ~60,000 mi which is the upper extent. They also stated my drive belt was cracked and needed replacement. I opened up the hood 3 or 4 times prior to returning for the brake and I did not see one single crack on there - it looked brand new still. Only one of the lies. The other part was the person behind the counter explained $143 in labor when discussing the quote with me. He glossed over the fact that this did not include parts - again my fault for not paying closer attention. When asked why the bill was so high he stated they DO NOT REPLACE ONLY PADS. THEY ONLY REPLACE PADS/ROTORS TOGETHER. He stated this was discussed with me previously, but guess what? If it was I would not come back here to get the pads replaced which is all I wanted and all it needed. Car did not need new rotors - they were adequately thick. Of course there is an enormous rip off mark up on the pads and rotors - $100 for what are subpar "carquest" rotors ~$20 at walmart. He stated I was getting "premium" parts when I asked him what brand. Now I do understand they need have someone go get the parts and there's always a markup but 500% is BS. He said he tried to call me but he had fat fingered my phone number and could not reach me - again very suspicious. He did see I was obviously extremely irritated and gave what amounted to a $20 discount which barely put a dent in the bill at all and was extremely professional while shafting me. Will give credit where it is due. tl;dr Did not explain quote properly. Lied about needing a new drive belt. Lied about explaining they cannot change brake pads only. Cheap parts they call "premium." They will take advantage of you if you're not paying attention. I would not be surprised if the pads/rotors need to be changed again in under 20,000 mi, but I will not be coming back here to get it done. read more

I don't know where the recent negative reviews come from but these guys are legit. Brought in my truck for a lot of work after driving from California. Truck needed brakes checked, alignment done, tires rotated, and also had some other issues that needed to be addressed. Took almost all day but there was a lot of work to be done so no complaint from me. These guys took great care of my car and even gave a complimentary car wash. Thank you so much! read more

FYI even though receipt states all fluids are checked, they are NOT. Just spent a freezing ride from NY with zero heat because coolant was never checked. After a diagnostic check which showed NO leaks. Rocket scientist at the desk said he wasn't sure where the coolant went? really? evaporated into thin air? NO compensation, no apologies.......... Save yourself time and money and find another shop. This place has horrible customer service and doesn't take any fault in there mistakes. When a customer has work done you should back that work 100% and not be making your customers wait 3 hours because of a mistake your mechanics have made because you're to busy with other paying customers just to look at what you did wrong. The owner should of stepped up and handled this issue but instead I was told he was to busy. read more

CHECK YOUR BILL CLOSELY. They add a $15 per tire "Tire Protection" fee into your bill without telling you. If you happen to catch it, they will make it as difficult as possible to give you a refund. I heard about Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers (EOCTE) on Yelp. In the past, Jiffy Lube was my go-to spot, but more recently, I use my mechanic for oil changes. Yesterday, I realized my van was way past due, and since I have a couple of long road trips coming up, it was time to take care of it. EOCTE is located right next to Kroger Gas Station in North Suffolk, and they've only been open about 7 months or so. I stopped by around 10 a.m. on a weekday and the garage was empty. No wait! The gentleman who took care of me was courteous, and put my van through their 20-point service and safety inspection. The whole process is supposed to take about 10 minutes and you stay in your vehicle the whole time. I was able to watch what he did--cleaned my windshield, topped off my wiper fluid, checked my air filter (Most places tell you that you need it replaced and they will for a whopping $20+--I change it myself if it's needed. It's easy to do yourself.), and checked all of my lights (I did have one brake light out which I will also change myself). EOCTE will replace all of those items for you, but there was no pressure when I said I would do it on my own. Since it was my first time, he gave me a $5 discount on today's service. He swiped my card, gave me a little plastic folder for my paperwork, gave me a 10% off discount for future service and I was on my way. I would definitely go back, but since I've moving and EOCTE is not in Pennsylvania, I won't be able to--they are mostly in the southeast of the country. However, YOU can definitely go check them out! No appointment is needed. read more

Update 5/11/20: Giving one star review. Make sure if you have the unfortunate instance of having to buy tires from them that you get their roadside assistance add on to the tire. Without that, they will NOT cover the tire if it has a blow out on the road. Manufacturer's warranty, according to them, won't cover it unless it is a defect with the tire. We wouldn't know if its a defect because the woman at the register FAILED to come outside to check my husband's tire. She asked if he had their roadside assistance, which by the way he said wasn't even explained to him let alone offered at the time of purchase. He spent $858 on brand new tires that are just a month old and isn't even covered under the basic warranty. We will be taking our business elsewhere and whenever I am asked about places NOT TO GO I will make it my business to tell my friends and family about this experience and let them know that they do not value their customers---just the almighty dollar. read more

My wife and I have had three vehicles serviced here at various times over the past few years and they've been nothing but completely honest with both of us. In the past it was always nerve wracking taking my car into a shop because of a phantom noise or vague symptoms because it's easy to let your imagination run wild and think to yourself "I basically just gave these guys a blank check." Took my vehicle in for an oil change and over the next two days realized that I was leaking oil all over the driveway. Because I was out of town at that point my wife drove the vehicle back to have it looked at and was told everything was fine. Because it's about a 30 minute drive from the house she went to a local mechanic that we often use and they diagnosed the drain plug washer as being damaged so it would not seal properly. We took pictures to show the problem but the manager at express auto would not reimburse or compensate since they were not the ones to fix the problem. I am blown away with the poor customer service after making an effort to bring the vehicle down and they were unable to diagnose the problem. A simple apology and credit towards a future oil change would have gone a long way! And they've lost all future business from our family! read more

As I pulled up, the owner met me and said that he could have the oil changed in under 10 minutes. Right when I pulled up they were extremely nice and professional. They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need and told me what they were doing as they were doing it. I was able to stay in my car the whole time and it was probably a ten minute process. They checked all my lights brakes and topped off all my fluids. This place is FANTASTIC. I have a Honda with 240.000 miles on it and they have kept it running for years for FAR less than the Honda garage charges. They are always very honest about what needs to be changed immediately and what can wait. Service is fast and efficient. I would not take my car anywhere else because if they can't fix it, they recommend a garage that specializes in a certain problem to keep my car rolling! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! DISREGARD any negative reviews here - they are likely talking about another shop with the same name. NO ONE I know has had any complaints about this garage and I've recommended them to dozens of friends, all of whom are thrilled to have found them. I just have 2 cons: the waiting room chairs are not comfy especially if I have to wait forever for my car to be fix, since I live 30 mins away I have to wait over 3 hours. It's worth it tho!
