I've had the distinct displeasure of visiting this place twice, and both times it felt less like an oil change and more like a reality TV drama I didn't sign up for. Visit #1: The dude doing my oil change seemed to think he was auditioning for The Bachelor. The minute I mentioned I could change my own air filters, he was all, "So... do you have a boyfriend?" Like, bro, what? Are you here to service my car or apply for the position? He did chill out when I said no, but the whole interaction had big "creepy Tinder date" vibes. Visit #2: This was the real pièce de résistance. I showed up slightly overdue for my oil change, and instead of a simple, "Hey, try to come sooner next time," I got verbally annihilated. The guy was sooo mad, slamming tools around like he was auditioning for a WWE match. Then when I asked about using a coupon (because, duh, who doesn't love saving money?), he basically growled, "Absolutely NOT." Okay, Scrooge. But wait, it gets better. I paid in cash, thinking it'd be easier (mistake #1). This dude LOST it--slamming register drawers like the cash personally offended him, muttering God-knows-what under his breath, and then storming off to another register to finish the transaction. When he handed me my change, I swear he was two seconds away from yeeting it at my forehead. Finally, I asked him to reset my oil change indicator (a very normal request, mind you), and he straight-up ignored me like I'd just asked for a kidney. Instead, he gave me a dead-eyed "we're done here" and ushered me out like I was some ex he'd been forced to see at Thanksgiving dinner. Moral of the story? Skip this nightmare of a garage and head five minutes up the street to Valvoline. They'll change your oil without you having to relive your worst breakup. read more

This was my first time getting my oil changed at Take5. The shop I normally go to was not open, and I was going out of town and needed to get it done and ended up here because I had a $15 off coupon. They advertise fast service, but I was there for 1.5hr, which is a typical oil change anywhere, and I also had to sit in my car the entire time. In my opinion, they are very overpriced, I spent over $80 after my coupon, which was $30 more than the same oil change I would have received from the local Ford dealership. Unless I missed the sign, I did not see their pricing until I was all the way under bay, and it was my turn. My car uses fully synthetic oil, so the basic oil change was not an option. Interaction/customer service is very little. They asked which oil change I wanted and then tried to sell me other services like a transmission flush, air filter, etc. To be honest, I most likely would not come back or recommend them because I could not justify their inflated price. They are not more convienant than any other oil change place, and the customer service definitely is lacking. I do recommend they post their price somewhere visible before entering the bay because once you enter the bay, there is really no way out. read more

I visited the TAKE 5 on Newtown Rd yesterday, 5-21-2026, and to say disappointed is an understatement. There needs to be an experienced manager on duty to make sure that a level of professionalism is maintained because the 2 that were working there yesterday did not care to hold conversations about women or anything else not job related. My tire pressure was not checked, and I had to ask to have my service light turned off. All the one guy did was push a radiator flush, cabin filter change, and some other filter change purchase from under the hood. When I asked if 25% or $25 off the best coupon would be to use, he said, "I don't know", then proceeded to tell me what my total was. He did not even bother to calculate the savings for either option. I went with the $25 off. I did not get a thank you for using our establishment or anything. Just a receipt in hand and guided out of the garage and continued conversation that was inappropriate. I will not be visiting this TAKE 5 again. This was my 2nd visit here. My first visit was a good experience. Very professional and accommodating, but this time was ridiculous. A training in how to deal with the public should be mandatory. read more

They didn't check the correct amount of oil that was supposed to go in my car, just put a whole 6 quarts of oil, no questions. They didn't check my tire pressure, my cabin air filter, wipers, just barely did what they were supposed to do. I did not get the individuals names but you could just tell they didn't wanna be there so just be weary. The first time I went to this location it wasn't that bad but the second time? I will never take my car to ANY Take 5 ever again. All I needed was a quick oil change. After waiting over an hour for service and an an additional 30 minutes of hands on oil changing, my car would not start. I had to get my car TOWED from this take 5. After getting my car diagnosed at the dealership it was found that a sensor was unplugged under my car that cause my ECU to need to be reprogrammed. Just change your own oil. It will be cheaper than their price, faster than their service and will save you from a $600 trip to the dealership. I had to learn the hard way. I hope you don't have to as well. read more

Normally I go to the one on Battlefield Blvd but the Newton one was closer to the location I was heading to. Long story short, I start noticing my car wasn't driving right. Took it to get looked at, the mechanic said there was NO OIL in my vehicle. DRY as a bone. IF my engine had locked up, Take 5 would have been purchasing me another car. I was looking for a quick oil change near me. I've this place near my home so I thought why not. I pulled in and was greeted by an unfriendly guy that just says "pop the hood". No hello or welcome ... just pop the hood. I did and then I asked about specials or coupons to get some savings off the overpriced oil change. He says that there are no special deals or coupons. I dont know what was in the cleaning solution but it will not come off and I can hardly see now at night after it got wet from a little rain. There are spots all over the windshield and ive been trying to get it off for 10 minutes now with no luck. They also removed the glovebox to get to the cabin air filter without asking and did not reinstall it properly. Do not come here. This is the worst oil change experience I've ever had. While CJ was explaining to me the run down of my oil change, Bryan told CJ to "slow down" to really "SLOWWW DOWN!" talking to me, insinuating I had stupid questions and to explain them slower. A nice man with a Hispanic accent walked up to the garage asking where to pull in to get an oil change. CJ replied "PULL AROUND BACK" and under his breath said to me, "dumb MFer, does it look like I speak Spanish?! There's a huge sign on the door that says pull around back" laughing with Bryan and Jarod the Assistant Manger, about the nice man. Jarod was joking about sexual content because CJ's belt was undone. They didn't even complete safety callouts among each other. They didn't check the sensors on my car: blinkers, rear lights, horn, etc. To my knowledge, this is standard safety precautions at Take5. I don't understand how CJ could brag about this location winning an award when this was the most unprofessional experience I've ever had in a customer setting. Don't know what happened to this location but this was my go to for oil change. It was usually a quick turnaround but not anymore. We've waited for more than an hour before even getting looked at. So I originally wanted to go to Jiffy Lube to have my Arcadia oil change done but because this establishment opened an hour earlier I came to this location. I arrived at the location at 7:12 am and one of the workers was standing outside smoking a cigarette while on the phone. They still had cones everywhere and weren't even open, that should have been my first read sign. So around 7:20, they then told me to bring my vehicle around and pop my trunk. The young man told me to drive forward and just walked and stood on the left side of my vehicle where I could see him. As I was attempting to drive in, attempting not to hit the side wall in their little drive in, I noticed a young lady standing all the way at the opposite in attempting to direct me, my window was down but I could not hear her saying anything so I asked the young man what was she saying since he was standing there looking as if he was high on some type of substance. The next thing I know I had scraped the from end of my truck on the right and again this high guy is just standing there looking stupid in the face!!! I then asked him why is someone all the way in the front trying to direct someone sitting inside of their vehicle if he was clearly standing next to me?! Because of how low down the Arcadia sits SAMANTHA the manger was in my blind spot so I could not see her after I started moving my vehicle. I think get out of my vehicle to walk around to see if there was damage and only then at the point she decided to walk up to me smiling saying oh yeah you scraped your car up!!!! So I'm dumbfounded looking at her and I preceded to ask why was she not closer and or communicated to the young man that was beside my vehicle what I needed to do, SAMANTHA then preceded to laugh in my damn face again!!! I have high anxiety so by this time I'm triggered and I'm trying to explain to her that her way of how she handled the situation was very unprofessional, I just wanted a oil change!!! THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO IS LAUGH IN SOMEONE FACE WHEN THEIR PROPERTY HAS BEEN DESTROYED DUE TO LACK OF PROPER COMMUNICATION!!! Do not recommend! Was told I needed a new rear windshield wiper after I just installed a new one less than a week ago! Price was $84.99, had an $18 dollar off coupon, still had to pay $84 due to service charge and extra half quart of oil needed. I could have looked over all that if I didn't wake up to a pile of oil on my garage floor because the filter wasn't even close to tight. Take 5 really means take an hour and get dishonesty and people that don't actually know how to change oil. Now I have to buy another quart of oil to replace the leaked oil! Forgot to take pictures but I had such a great first experience. Not knowing much about cars, my boyfriend helped me find a place to get an oil change. He recommended this place because it was the most highly rated in the area. The line was kinda long. Went a little past 10 am on a Saturday morning, ended up receiving service around 12 pm. Although it says 10 min for an oil change, they actually check your whole car (even tire pressure, which was nice) so it takes more than 10 min per car. I ended up getting an air filter change as well because they compared mine to a new one and said it was very dirty. The staff is very friendly. When we were in line, employees constantly went down the line offering water bottles. The only thing that made me uncomfortable was that most weren't wearing masks, which I reckon is because of the heat. However, the employee who reset my oil change status on my car used gloves. Also she offered a military discount (thanks to my boyfriend) when I wasn't in the military. Overall, great service and I wish they had locations in Maryland! read more

Love it for the friendly service and convenience. The staff always offers water which is nice. Once a staff member dropped a cap down in the engine. I didn't notice until I realized multiple people were fiddling under the hood for a long while. When I asked what was going on they told me they dropped the cap and were trying to grab it. The mechanics could have easily left the cap and not told me but they took the time to make sure everything was back in place before they sent me off. Great location with great people. read more

They showed me how to check my oil by myself. They sent me a $15 off coupon to my text phone. Even though I had to wait a while, in the queue, for my turn to have service, it was well worth it. I waited 1 hour and 50 minutes while the team lackadaisically attended to the longest line of cars even seen at an oil change facility. Any sense of urgency was lost on this crew. My car was finally in the bay but the waiting had killed my battery. They pushed me out into the parking lot and left me for dead while they rolled the next car into my place. There was zero sense of customer service in the least. I have cables and could have managed a jump from someone. I asked what could be done and was told "we're really busy." I don't normally do this but felt like it was necessary in this case. My wife and I brought in our Lexus and GMC Envoy for an oil change. They charged us an additional $18 for two quarts of extra oil for our Envoy and didn't mention it to us. Brought our total up to $104 for a routine oil change. Ridiculous. After the work was done my wife drove the Envoy on the highway and heard a dragging sound. My baby was also in the car. She called me and I turned around and met her on the side of the busy highway. The oil skid pan was only attached with one bolt and it was finger tight. I crawled under the vehicle and removed the bolt and pan and we drove back to the business. The manager told us that there was no way the pan came from under our vehicle because she did the work and there was no pan on it. She also further stated that GMC Envoy's did not come equipped with oil skid pans. Seriously?!? I explained to her that it was attached to the vehicle and the bolt threaded into the frame perfectly. I pulled around and she was able to miraculously reattach the pan and find the missing bolts. After she fixed the issue she was about to offer me a discount card and said "oh you're military right?" I replied yes and she said oh, you already get a discount. What?!? Because I already get a discount doesn't warrant an additional discount or some type of compensation for putting my family's life in danger because of shoddy work?? There was about seven employees and only three actually seemed to be working. I understand having to wait about 20 min at a place like this, but 45 mins is no bueno.
