Incredibly dangerous experience and zero corporate accountability.I had my oil changed and tires rotated at the Brighton Valvoline. The workers were nice, but they failed to tighten the lug nuts on my front left wheel. The next time I drove (I went on vacation), I had to make an emergency pull off on the thruway at 70 MPH because my wheel was coming off. This easily could have killed me or someone else. When I contacted corporate, they completely blew me off. They promised a phone call that never came, I even sent an email reminding them of my phone number. Then, they emailed stating that I should have brought my vehicle back to their shop just for them to look at it. Why on gods green earth would I pay over $200 for a tow to Vavoline, to the people that caused this issue in the first place. They refused to even refund the tire rotation. To risk someone's life due to negligence and then offer zero resolution is disgusting. I was a regular customer, but I will never return. I tell everyone I know this story and to Avoid Vavoline!! read more

They broke my car!!! I took my Mercedes to Valvoline for an oil change, and just a few days later my "Add Oil" light came on. When I returned, the vehicle was leaking oil heavily--something it was not doing before the service. They claimed it could be wear and tear, but the issue only started after my visit. It appears the oil filter was overtightened, which may have damaged the oil cooler/filter housing. I was also told I may have to pay for diagnostics if they deny responsibility. Very frustrating experience. Their affiliate shop who looked at the car wants 1,003.48 to fix. Never go to a valvoline they might break your car and won't fix it read more

Went to get my oil changed and I had a coupon for half off what a bargain !! The technician was efficient and personable.

I stood for more than an hour to do a technical inspection of cars. One car can't do a technical inspection in an hour.

Valvoline is a great spot for a quick drive-through oil change. They seemed to employ a fair number of women and BIPOC individuals which is awesome. They have cameras on your vehicle so you can see what is being done. They do you make suggestions of additional services but it is low pressure to actually get more work done. My tip is to call and follow the prompts for coupons they will text you a discount that is greater than anything you will get from their website or in the mail. read more

Following a botched "oil change," I reached out to both this facility's Manager as well as to Valvoline Customer Care to attempt to rectify their multiple screwups; but no one returned my calls. Here's what went wrong: despite the FillerCap stipulating 10W30, they used incorrect oil 5W30; they used an oil filter HALF the size that's required (see photo) and, despite a K&N sticker advising against disposing, they tossed (or stole?) my $65 K&N metal&fiber reusable air filter and installed the cheapest, lightest weight paper filter I've ever seen. To add insult to injury, they charged $88! after deducting $30 for a discount card, so it would've been ridiculously high priced. Update1: Although I emailed Valvoline a copy of the invoice for their service on my vehicle which documents the mistakes outlined above, their only response so far is that they can't find the claim info - which makes zero sense. I'll wait until COB Monday and then reach out again. They might be too busy with other claims... Update2: I have to give Valvoline Customer Service 2 stars bc they convinced the recalcitrant manager of this facility to refund the cost of service. They couldn't convince him to reimburse me for the new K&N filter I purchased even though I provided the receipt and showed it installed as well as showed their crappy "toilet paper filter discarded. It's illogical and fraught with moral hazard that the Valvoline corporation cedes such decision-making power to their facilty managers. Caveat Emptor! read more

I moved from out of state last year and used this location for my inspection. It was time for another inspection so I came on over. It was busy for a Saturday so the wait was around 2 hours, but the service was great. I'll be back for my next inspection and oil changes. Thank you! Why the employees that worked at Valvoline do not take any extra car after 5:40 pm for a NYS car inspection?? I went in a Friday and nobody on the line. I was alone, no cars waiting and one of the kids told me we do not take any Inspection at this time?? But business closed at 7 pm! Come on! Why? They should take until at least 6:20 pm!! read more

I've been here for oil changes and inspections. There is nothing fast or convenient about this place. You get told they have too many people in line, they don't have the workers, they don't have the inspectors... and then when you do decide to wait it out, it's such a long wait. I know there are many places that are understaffed but for a service that is advertised as such, it's falling short of the promises made. read more

I'm visiting from out of state and the dreaded "Change Oil Soon" warning kept popping up every time I started my car. Although there isn't a quickie oil change place anywhere near where I'm staying, I was in the area and decided, based on past experience, to go to this location. The place was very busy (midday on a Friday) but a technician, wearing what looked like a football helmet (complete with face mask!) came out to all the waiting cars to verify that we were there for an oil change. (I wanted to reply, "No, I'd like a cup of coffee and a donut," but decorum had me swallow the line.) She directed us to the proper line, based on who was first and what lane would open in proper order. After a short wait, I was guided in and a tech took my info...which came right up in the system since I'm a past customer - only back in my home state. Within a brief period time, my oil was changed, the air in my tires was balanced, and for a nominal fee, a burned out light was replaced. As always in these places, they tried to upsell me on stuff I didn't need, like twelve bucks for a gas additive I can buy for a couple of bucks and put in myself. The upsell is just a part of going to an oil change place and you just have to swallow hard and say NO to the nice young man or woman. And now I'm good for another 5,000 miles or so! read more

I honestly had a good time at this location... the staff was really great as it was my first time there, they did what they were supposed to do. On the other hand it was not "stop on your lunch break!" Fast. Definitely call valvoline before hand for whatever coupon because they charge ALOT . Definitely convenient. Definitely open. I started going to this Valvoline for my oil changes years ago because of it's proximity to my home. I continue to go because they're quick, always send me coupons, and the service people are polite, friendly, happy, and knowledgable. I went on the 3rd Saturday in September when everyone's getting their cars prepped for the winter - the bay lines were all 3 cars deep. I waited for about 45 minutes in the sun. The attendants informed everyone in line that we were welcome to leave our cars and sit in the air conditioned waiting room. I opted to stay because I had a towel I could close in my window to shield the sun. They tried to get everyone in the shade as soon as possible. I had my windshield wipers, battery, air filter and cabin filter replaced in addition to a conventional oil change (that I had a $15 off coupon for that I received in an email). It was a little more expensive than if I'd bought the parts online and installed them myself - but not by much - so I paid for the convenience. read more

Okay, what the heck. I have never had such an easy experience getting an oil change as I did last night. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Literally pulled right up and got taken care of immediately. The guys were very professional, polite, knowledgeable and didn't try to see me everything under the sun. They also hadn't received their shipment of wiper fluid but offered to let me come back to get that filled. I was genuinely impressed. They'll also top of the air in your tires as needed. I have gone to Valvoline for years and had positive experiences. The Henrietta branch stopped doing state inspections but this branch still offers them. I was told by their 800-number that they did inspections Sundays from 9 to 11 and then again in the afternoon. So I headed over at about 9:15. It was closed. It looked like there was activity, so I figured I would hang around. At 930, they opened. A technician came over to my car and asked me what I wanted. I told him an inspection and an oil change. 10 or so minutes later they waved me into the bay. Another technician came over and asked me if I wanted the same kind of oil as I usually get. I asked about the inspection. He had no idea I wanted one. And then told me it would be a three hour wait. I let him know I was the third person there (I did not know whether the first two wanted inspections). He indicated there were people ahead of me. I don't understand how since the nose of my car was up against the door, but he assured me there were. I asked when I could come back to get the inspection. He said he was open all week. Could I schedule a time for three hours from now or this afternoon? No, it was first-come first-served. But I was third in line. No, he said other people were ahead of me somehow. This is the day when I had a little time set aside when I could take the car in for an oil change and inspection. That's kind about the window now. Finding time on workdays is very difficult because of my work schedule. I will find a shop where I can make an appointment for an inspection. While I'm there, I'll probably get an oil change. read more

I would HIGHLY recommend this Valvoline on Monroe Ave! I had such a smooth and non-pressuring experience. It was a bit busy because I went around 5pm on a weekday, so we had to wait for approximately 40 minutes before getting into the garage, but no worries. The staff was very good with guiding the flow of traffic too. Once we got into the garage, the whole oil change took 20 minutes. They went over additional services very briefly and I didn't feel pressured at ALL to purchase them. With a $20 off coupon, the full synthetic oil change came to $70. The service is okay, although the cost is very expensive every time I used to have my oil changed... There was always some other service that was very important to do (transmission oil change, air filter, etc). Never just a simple oil change, always something else too. My cost was between $80 to $130 or higher sometimes. So now I take my auto(s) to a local garage and it only cost me about $35. read more

I have been to this location about 4 times now since I moved to Rochester, and every time I am there I remember why I keep going back. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and in no way in a rush to get me in and out. They take the time to inform you and offer you services without being pushy just to make a profit. As a woman who has been spoken at or talked down to every time I am in a mechanic setting, do yourself a favor and just go to Valvoline if you can! This was the most uncomfortable oil change experience I have had. It seemed great when I first got there and I was happy I found a place on a Saturday that would change my oil, but the girl tried to talk to me in a condescending way and then since I am a female tried to make it seem like I hadn't idea about my car and tried to get me to me to pay a ton of money for things that didn't need to be done to my car and offered me oil that was way over priced and not even right for my car. I paid 50 dollars for a simple oil change. I'm so mad right now, I only pay around 25 dollars for a regular oil change. Never go here unless you want to get ripped off. Came in this morning at about 9am on a Friday which is payday for most people so usually busy. 3 bay store with all 3 full of cars, 3 behind each of those. I grabbed the first spot that pulled off within the first 5 min. These guys were all buisness by 925 i was in for my oil change. Andrew is a great employee that was quick to help me.
