I had a pretty good experience at this location on Sunday morning. The guys helping me were courteous and quick. I read some reviews once I pulled up and got a little nervous lol, but everything went great. I was able to use a promo code I had in an email and save some money. That's always nice! It took about 30 minutes total but that's only because there were a few cars already being serviced when I arrived. I don't usually leave reviews, but boy has this location gone downhill. Most of the employees seem to be brand new and not just at this job, but in dealing with automotive in general. The lead female tech was at least competent and saved a big mistake from almost happening. One of the newer employees put on an incorrectly sized oil filter to which the lead tech barely caught after she looked at the specifications because the incorrect filter still seemed to somewhat fit. This would've likely seriously damaged my vehicle had it not been caught. The employees response to this was so nonchalant, it left me baffled. They filled up my tires without asking what PSI I preferred after almost not doing it at all. I had to prompt them. One employee couldn't figure out how to reveal my cabin air filter for inspection and another employee forgot to change my wipers after I had asked. I used to go here all the time but this will be my last visit. I hope the owner of this company not only reads this review, but takes action in order to bring this place of business back into good standing order. read more

My experience was ok, the gentleman appeared irritated with me cause I didn't fully understand what he wanted me to do for my state inspection saying "have you been here before?" While waiting for my inspection, another gentleman came up and stated "you need new windshield wipers or you will not pass inspection", I honestly didn't think twice about it, cause I knew I needed new ones, but thought the approach was harsh and appears to be a pattern w/ these guys based off of what I have read. this place is ran by children, apparentl. this is the third time I came in for an oil change. they didn't have my filter. told me to come back in a few days. went back. they told me to come back on Tuesday (it's Thursday) WHY DOES AN OIL CHANGING PLACE NOT HAVE OIL FILTERS?? This isn't just a one time occurrenc. they also didn't tighten my oil pan enough and I had a leak. they told me I could go buy a filter and they'd reimburse me. Horrible customer service and unethical practices. I have been servicing three autos at this location for about 6 or 7 years, but it is now just pure attitude and disreputable business practice. Today the crew had on loud music was holding a party in the service bays, complete with dancing. I do not mean just taking a break or fooling around for a minute or two, I mean the entire time I was there. Although my vehicle was finished getting inspected it was put outside and just left there for 15 minutes, I could not get anyone to give me a bill so that I could pay. When I asked about this I was just given attitude - told to go back into the waiting area since it was not finished. It was finished, they had just forgotten about it since there was a party going on. Then they charged me for a window tint inspection, which is not required - I have had this same truck inspected at this location for the past few years and this was the first time they required the inspection. The windows on this 10 year old SUV are factory windows, not after market, and the SUV itself is exempt from inspection. I just paid and left. I really used to like this location, since it is local. I even bought lunch for the entire work crew on two different occasions during really cold weather. But, I will never return here. This is a very bad business with very bad customer service and engaging in disreputable business practices. read more

When they did my oil change they were very fast and I had great customer service. But they nickel and dime you to health and they left my oil cap very loose and it caused oil to leak out everywhere. This place sucks. Their quickly run through changing the oil but forget to do the things that count like tightening the oil filter and cap. I will never use them again!!!! read more

If I did not have to give the Valvoline in Concord NC any stars I would do just that. You have a rude worker by the name of Shelia who seems to enjoy calling customers like myself a liar when I did not ask for windshield wiper blades, plus turns around and gives me two different sizes and charges me for a 16-inch passenger side and the driver side 22-inch the same price. I Thank them for the refund for the windshield wipers that I did not ask for during my services. Needless to say, customers are looking to have the best quality services from the employees at this facility, which was not done for me. I also had my inspection done as my registration was lost (by them). It did not seem to faze this rude woman that my registration was lost as she turned around and made the call to me just to tell me they had my registration. However, when I arrived at the Valvoline at 8505 Pit Stop Court they did not have my registration (lied to cover their tracks). Scott is the Area Manager for this facility he has not done a thing to ensure quality service or to make things right for me. Waited in line for over 1 hour before they even started on my car inspection. Once you make the mistake of getting in this cattle shoot line you cannot get out or else I would have left. My car is 5 years old and came with factory tint. It's passed inspection every year without question. Today they say it failed the inspection because of the window tint on the drivers window. How do you expect me to believe that my windows grew darker since last year. Maybe the equipment you use to measure it is defective. The tech refused to try another piece of equipment to check so now I have do it all over. Plus I had to go ahead and pay part of the total. A total waste of my time and money. read more

Oil change completed Oct 2020. Follow up oil change Aug 2021. I was advised during my follow up oil change that the previous technician stripped my oil pan bolt. As such, they stopped the oil change and put in a temporary oil pan bolt. I took my vehicle to a mechanic who stated the oil pan was damaged beyond repair and needed the oil pan replaced to fix the problem. $700 later and i will never use Valvoline Concord Mills again. I highly recommend that you do not take your car to Valvoline on Pit Stop Ct. Concord NC. I have been taking my car there since they opened and I went there for an oil change yesterday and was highly DISAPPOINTED!!! They do not have professional people there anymore, from the manager, that does not listen nor does he know how to handle conflict situations to the staff blatantly lying to you to try about the oil quality. When Valvoline first opened their staff was very professional and they would take the time to show you new parts side by side to your old parts. Do not expect type of service anymore. Now they are only interested in making money and they could care less about how they treat their customers. They did not show me the new air filter and when I asked to see it the young man just looked at me, shrouded his shoulders and said it is already in. This is after he lied by telling my that conventional oil is recycled oil that is obtained from various shops and cleaned and then sold as conventional oil. These were just a few of the issues I had with this Valvoline!! If you want professional, trustworthy service where you feel comfortable with the service from the staff, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE NOT EVEN FOR AIR IN THE TIRES!!!! 3 bays and 90% of the time, only one is open with 4-5 people working- does not make sense to keep a line to the street and this way people just will avoid this location. Um I don't even know where to start. They have a new manager that took over in April 2019. Unfortunately, this shop has gone downhill ever since. Here's what happened today... We show up, brakes screeching. I was told by a mechanic yesterday that my brakes were literally "metal to metal" and needed to be replaced ASAP. 1. It took 1.5 hours to get my inspection completed. With the old manager I was in and out in less than 30 min. 2. I went into the shop to find out what was going on just after the one hour mark. One of the workers looked at me and said "yes sir". ??? 3. They passed my inspection and my brakes. I was surprised and told the inspector that my car desperately needed new brakes. He said "they look good to me". 4. I went to get them fixed right after this inspection. They said they were at a dangerously low level. Bottom line: extremely slow service and incompetent inspectors. I would not waste your time here. read more

Maintenance Required - time for an oil change. With my recently received coupon in hand, I stopped at this business on my way home from work. It's the last time I'll stop there. They weren't busy, with just one car in a bay, I was quickly directed into an open bay. Once in the bay, they did a "free" light check. The light check indicated my license plate lights were out. They would gladly replace them for $11.95 a piece. I declined the replacement as I can replace a light bulb, and figured I could get them cheaper at the auto parts store. As it turned out they didn't have the filter for my vehicle in stock and I'd have to come back a few days later when they got their shipment to get an oil change. I'm glad they sent me on my way...those license plate lights, were working fine. Valvoline you have broken my trust - if you lie about needing a light bulb, how can I trust you with making sure you are doing me right on an oil change? I used to take three vehicles here to get oil changed and vehicles inspected. No longer- I can't trust you to take care of me or my cars. read more

We got in and were serviced quickly. I was asked to do a lot of upgrades and I don't have a great understanding of what I needed and what I don't. They made everything sound imperative. I recommend this place if you are in a rush and don't have an appointment elsewhere. I really didn't trust that I wasn't being oversold though. Updated review: I went back for a state inspection. The service person, Brian, explain things really well and was not pushy. There were things they were trying to have me get fixed during my oil change that they didn't mention during the inspection. One time I came here and the mechanic forgot to fully close something. I noticed a day later my car was really loud. Took it back, they saw what was wrong and changed the filter free of charge for me since they made a mistake. Still went back after that issue b/c everyone has a first day and no harm no foul. I went there this weekend and they couldn't do my oil change b/c their electricity was out. My husband just did it for me instead. He said that when he changed the oil there was about 2 quarts TOO MUCH! He said looked like they hadn't been draining it and just pouring in new oil. Really bummed cause they are so nice and quick but my husband said I should not take my car their anymore cause of what has happened. My experience has been good here - you drive in, pop the hood, and they start to run through the protocol for changing oil, checking tire pressure, and looking for other things to do. This is all very standard, and you can say you'll think about it if you don't want to have all the other services done. Business seems very disorganized and no one was there to greet you as you drove in. Also that eager to help vibe I just didn't feel. If they were a little faster on service I may be willing to sacrifice these things, but I was just not impressed with their service at all.
