I had a very concerning experience at Valvoline. I went to my usual people to do my oil change instead of Valvoline this past Saturday, even though my last service was just 5,000 miles ago. During this visit, I was informed that my oil cap had been left completely loose from the previous service--so loose it could be unscrewed by hand. As a result, my vehicle had little to no oil, which likely triggered my check engine light and could have caused serious engine damage. That alone is unacceptable and raises major concerns about the quality of work being done. On top of that, I experienced aggressive upselling. I mentioned possibly returning later for windshield wipers, but the employee repeatedly pressured me into purchasing them on the spot. After agreeing, the installation was done incorrectly and resulted in my wipers being bent. I was then told I would need to go to AutoZone to buy additional parts just to get them functioning properly. So not only did I spend over $100-$200 on something I could have handled myself for much less, but I also left with damaged equipment and another problem to fix. This experience showed a lack of care, professionalism, and accountability. Customers trust places like this to perform basic services correctly and not create bigger issues. I strongly urge management to address these problems before more vehicles are put at risk. read more

Got an oil change at this location back In February. I now currently have an oil leak coming from my drain plug. Upon inspecting the reason for the leak. my drain plug was loose and with visible signs of lock tight being applied to the plug. Attempted to tighten the plug some more myself to stop the oil leak but come to find out the threads are striped on either the pan or the plug and will not tighten down which is most likely why the lock tight was applied. Very dissatisfied and disappointed about the quality of work performed. read more

I came here for an oil change and left with a check engine light. I took it back to them and they couldn't figure out the issue and there was no manager there. I had to troubleshoot and find the problem myself. They didn't put the dipstick back in and caused a vacuum leak. They left the crossmember loose (there was no need to remove). I had to call corporate for a refund. I will not be going back to this place. read more

so slow it seems almost deliberate. Some of the staff struggle installing wiper blades. There is only one bay for state inspections, but they won't move a vehicle from the bay getting an oil change and inspection, even with several cars waiting for state inspections. read more

Changed my oil just fine to the best of my knowledge but they let the air out of the driver side tires and did a terrible job putting the valve stem covers back on. One was cross threaded and the other was just barely on. read more

I stopped for an oil change on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The wait was short and I was directed to drive directly into the shop by an advisor. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that as a first responder I would be getting a $15 discount. I was told that the oil change would take about 15 minutes and that I could remain in my vehicle for the duration. An interactive monitor displayed the mechanic working underneath my vehicle as well as around my vehicle. I was startled when I saw my advisor walk over to the corner of the shop and start beating on my drain plug with a screw driver. I continued to watch for 5 minutes until he was finally able to free the plug from the removal socket after using a set of pliers to free it. He proceeded to come over and tell me that my drain plug was stripped but that they were able to remove it. ***Before I continue I have to disclose that I am a level 3 Technician for a Chrysler Dealership and have worked in the auto industry for about 15 years.*** That being said, I have done my oil changes religiously for the past 30,000 miles every 3,000 miles. My drain plug has never been damaged and I can only assume that it was damaged by the mechanic. The mechanic replaced my drain plug with a non-standard drain plug at no additional cost however the damage was done. I can only assume that an oversized drain plug was used and that I will never be able to use an appropriate drain plug ever again. I informed my advisor that I did the last oil change and that a 13mm, 6 point socket needed to have been used. Obviously too late. I was extremely nervous driving away for obvious reasons that I would see a trail of oil behind my vehicle. My advice would be to think about going to another location. read more

I waited in line for an oil change for 7 minutes. I was not acknowledged at all. When my turn came for an oil change, I was told I would have to surrender my place in line to another car as they had a "first in first out policy. Fair enough, but letting the customer know that it doesn't matter which of the three lines you pull up to doesn't matter would have been helpful. Even Walmart does better. I went there to get my car inspected on Friday the 29th. A tech came out and asked if that's what I was there for. I said that I was and he told me the machine was down until Monday or Tuesday. They were inspecting another car right in front of me. If they don't want to do inspections during the busy times, they need to give it up. This was at Valvoline in LaPorte Texas. read more

Exceptional service. You get to stay in your car, so you don't have to have a dirty man drive your car while you sit in a dirty room that's smells like stale cigarette smoke, in an uncomfortable chair, trying to get a glimpse of what they're doing through the window. They let you know exactly what they're doing and why they are doing it. They have a camera above your car and below your car so you can see what's going on. Every employee was pleasant and seemed content with working there. Take everything you hate about jiffy lube, especially in Winchester, and get rid of it, and you get this place. read more
