Dear management ‼‼ I've been getting my oil change at this location for the past eight years with my previous car now with my new car. That being said, I have got to let you know that I've never made a review about any sort of service ever and this group of young men that you have working at this location right now today is Monday, April 6, 2026 is hands-down the best team I have ever encountered in my life experience. They were thorough, informative, and educational. And I felt really taken care of which, usually at mechanic places you feel taken advantage of. On top of that which you wouldn't think is such a great thing in a place where men are getting greasy and dirty, they were also well dressed and put together, and you could see that they all had great style and their attitudes and personalities and demeanor were amazing. If I were you, dear managers, I would do whatever it takes to keep this group of people and/or people pretty much near like them ... because of their customer service (seriously all of them, a team consulting each other, and everybody giving opinions and working with each other, which was fantastic.) I wanted to spend my money with you guys. I wanted to have them fix my filter and all these other things that I never pay attention to and I'm always feeling like they're trying to just take my money. Anyways, to the boys over there, thank you so much to you guys. Please keep this crew. It's the best service I've EVER experienced and it's at my local Valvoline. Didn't make it far! Saw them reaching for the engine air filter box I said it was just serviced.... Tech continues to open the box to then just then not close it correctly. Had to pull off into target and put it back together myself. All in all $96 dollars for a synthetic oil change after a $15 dollar coupon and me having to repair the filter box not worth it. Oct. 1,2025 I arrived there with a groupon for a $30 oil change the print out a had a QR code i paid for. The attendant said i could not use it because he needed and other code. So i ended up paying full price $55. Then he told me my battery was bad I told him i would take it back to where i bought it because it was under warranty. Then he said we have the battery here and wanted me to change it now. When i got home i checked the battery voltage it was 12.4 volts no problem. NOW MY CAR IS LEAKING OIL IN MY DRIVEWAY. You would be better off to take your car to a professional mechanic that knows what there doing. read more

Staff at the Lighthouse FL location caused damage to my car which created an oil leak. They told us to hire a rental car whilst they fixed it, promising to reimburse costs and are now completely ignoring us and refusing to honor that promise. Echoing my wife's review. They damaged our car causing it to leak oil and then told us to rent a car whilst they fixed it, promising to reimburse costs. They are now refusing to reimburse and ignoring any of our efforts to contact them. A truly dishonest way to do business and I would recommend going elsewhere. This branch is about 25 minutes away from me. Even though it's a bit of a hike, I always use them when I need an oil change because they do nice work. I really like the staff here and they're fast too. Plus you can wait in your car, which is nice. I am just disappointed in the fact that they have wildly inaccurate waiting times on the Valvoline app. Last Saturday I called up to see how long the wait was. Nobody picked up when I called, but I saw online they had app which showed estimated times. I downloaded it and saw 0 minute wait time. Nice! I drove over and promptly found 5 cars in each line which sucked. A worker came out and told me there was at least a 1 hour wait. I then opened the Valvoline app and it still showed a 0 minute wait. I left disappointed and couldn't help but think how this could have all been avoided if they either a) answered the phone or b) had an accurate wait time on the app. As it happened, I drove 25 minutes each way all for nothing. Waste of time. Five stars usually, but 3 because of the time wasting debacle. read more

Getting an oil change can be a headache especially when you have so many other places trying to upsell you things for your car that you don't need. Valvoline gave me exactly what I needed - a simple oil change. The staff was helpful and they walked me through everything they were doing the entire time. When I was waiting in line for my turn I was visited twice by staff just so they could personally give me an update and let me know about how much time until it was my turn. I had my coolant flushed today. They did their best to handle each car quickly and properly. They serviced my car outside to free up a pit area to be able to service more cars. Once my turn came I was in and out in 15 minutes. I watched how they worked on other cars having a manager double check proper condition of a vehicle once serviced. They did not try and up sell me. Two women and two men were there working. Very polite. The only caution is that it takes time to service a vehicle. If there is a line and you are in a hurry wait for another time to come instead of writing a bad review. read more

There was a bit of a line ahead of me but the sign said "15" oil change", I thought I would not be waiting that long. After 30 minutes a technician comes to me and says it will be another 25 minute wait since they are now adding more services. I was trapped by other cars this time and I could not back out . I have been waiting over an hour which should have been no more than 30. I'm still in line. Bunch of guys just standing around joking with each other. My day has been blown. Never again. read more

Valvoline Instant Oil Change at 3500 N Federal Highway Lighthouse Point, FL changed the oil in my auto recently. The service was OK except for "Sir, your transmission fluid is dirty and low" as the tech shoved the dip stick into my car and announcing that he has a "transmission fluid special for me today." Having paid heavily for a Chrysler dealer to flush the transmission about 6K miles and about 9 months earlier, I declined the special deal. Coincidently or not, the SUV with Ohio plates that was ahead of me did have transmission service done. The next day I went to a transmission repair shop where the tech pulled the dip stick and stated "the transmission fluid is neither dirty nor low." It looks to me as though there was no need whatsoever to replace transmission fluid as the Valvoline tech claimed. Tips to car owners; 1) keep accurate service records in your car, and 2) get a second opinion on questionable claims. These tips are especially appropriate for women who are often vulnerable to shady claims. read more

I have been to Valvoline in other locations specifically Mount Pocono, Pa. I was very happy with the service in Pennsylvania so I went to the Valvoline at the Lighthouse Point location. I arrived and saw that there were two service bays and a line corresponding to each bay. I was in line for 25 minutes when a worker approached and told me I would have to switch lines because my line is moving faster and he needs to get a car from the other line in my spot. I told him that I didn't want to move and that I was in line as long as the other car. He told me that they take people in the order that they came in and I had to move. I asked to speak with the Manager. He said his name is Salem and he is the manager. I told him that he lost a customer. I asked him if he was at the supermarket and his line moved slower would he tell the person in the other line he is taking his place? He said we take people in the order they arrive. I said you need to have a single line. I got no where with him. Never again. read more

I have gone for service to Valvoline Instant Oil Change at 3500 N. Federal Highway in Lighthouse Point, FL for many years. My last service date of December 28, '24 is my last. I will never go back again. When I was there this last time, with only one car behind me, I observed how the woman who was servicing me was extremely rushed. When she showed me the dipstick, it was like the speed of light (I hardly saw it.). With the same speed, she put it back and said you need coolant, and we're out. That was it. I immediately responded with what do I do? Fortunately, the attendant at the computer said I can come back, I asked when? I was told later that day or the next. To ensure they would have time to get the coolant, I came back the next day in the afternoon, but they still didn't have the coolant. I told the manager how I was treated in a very rushed manager. He said nothing. He did say they were trying to get coolant soon. I told him I don't like the idea of my having to stop by every so often to get an update. I asked, why couldn't someone call me, or email me? No response. Why didn't someone forewarn me beforehand, by telling me that if I need coolant, they are out and inform me of the protocol to handle the matter. No response. Well, being disappointed and upset, I did shout out at him. I told him I was going to write a negative review, and would never come back. With that, he raised him arm, pointed to the door, and shouted back at me to get out, now! I responded in how I was going to service myself by going to Auto zone just down the street. I left Valvoline and went to Auto Zone. I asked an employee to please help me. He came out to my car, check the level of coolant, and told me I was just about out. What? He filled it up for me with about a half-gallon of coolant that I purchased from him. It gets worse. Yesterday, January 13, my car wouldn't start. What? I called AAA, and they came out and said my battery was dead. He showed me his gauge, and said I need a new battery. I made the purchase. Ironically, I looked on my Valvoline invoice (Mind you, the one that was emailed to me because they were unable to print one out for me.) and it showed that the Battery checked out as being OK. It's hard to believe that in 2 weeks time, the battery would go from being okay to being dead. Also on the invoice, it showed that the coolant reservoir also checked out okay, but this was not the case, too. Before I left Valvoline, I also had to ask for my tire pressure to be checked. This is normally done without asking. Mind you, I always request full synthetic oil and thus pay top dollar. My Valvoline invoice was for $107.83. No worries. I will never go back. read more

Went in for an oil change. Didn't realize they go by mileage and was told it wasn't necessary. They could have kept quiet, charged me for the oil change, and I wouldn't have known any better. This is the second time we have had bad service here. The first time the service guy spilled oil on top of my engine and despite wiping most of it off my car smelled like Burning oil for a month. Also they only aired up my tires on one side of the car. Also since there was oil on my valve covers and engine, it collected dirt and dust. I eventually pressure washed my engine to stop the oil smell and to wash off the oil and dirt. Most recently we went in for an oil change. We had a coupon and it is the only reason we went back. While they were doing the oil change the service guy dropped a tool into my engine compartment and was having a hard time getting it out. Eventually he did and I asked him what he was doing. He said he dropped a screw driver while removing my air filter. He told me that it was very dirty and needed to be replaced. We had him replace it since we We're leaving on a road trip in the morning. As soon as left the next morning and we got a check engine light. The car is fairly new, we are the the original owner and I was sure it was something that they did. I have a engine scanner at home so I decided not to take it to get looked at until I got home and could download the fault. However after 2 days on the road with a check engine light my wife was stressed out. So when I stopped for Gas. I opened the air filter assembly and sure enough the filter we installed incorrectly. This prevented the air filter cover from correctly fitting and creating a seal. This was not a hard job. It was 4 screws and an air filter. Never again! read more

I drove down from NJ, to drop my daughter off at the University, with the plan of leaving her car in Florida since she is allowed to have her car on campus. This past weekend, we noticed the headlights flickering and occasionally the dash lights would come on. As a concerned father, I promised the car would be left with her in top notch condition. So this morning, I swapped out the starter and battery which corrected the electrical issues. Without a jack at my disposal, I decided to take the car to Valvoline for a synthetic oil change. The technicians that worked on the car did a great job, but the one star review is for the assistant manager who was rude and unprofessional. The results of the battery check showed the battery as being in a bad state, which is not possible since the battery was just replaced and fully load tested, yet he remained wrong and strong while continuing to state that their tests don't lie etc. But yet after I told him it was a brand new battery, and 558 CCA is not far off enough to consider it bad, another test was performed and the battery miraculously came back healthy!! The assistant manager then proceeded to reprimand the technician and told him "next time don't make me look stupid" as if I wasn't even in the vicinity. What really had me even more concerned about my encounter at Valvoline is what if my daughter had been the one to go there? Would they have taken advantage of her? What about other people that have no car knowledge, would they have taken advantage of them? Undoubtedly the answer is yes!! I have already informed my daughter not to return to this location and that she needs to share this experience with others on campus. read more

I have been going to this location for almost 2 years now. Recently, the entire crew has changed and this morning one of their team members, who was not even dressed properly to do the job, but looked more like he was out for a walk in his own neighborhood, could not find the hood rod to hold the hood up. He then tried to check my air conditioning, which has never been done by Jiffy Lube, and came back to me to show me that I was in the "red". I explained to him that he's reading my air conditioning incorrectly and could only be read while my air conditioning was on, not off. Yeah, I don't know about anyone else, but I put approximately 2800 miles a month on my open "work" car, And if I don't have the confidence in people that are working at this location to properly service me, I'm out. The last thing I need is for someone not to properly tighten the drain plug and have oil leaking which would burn up my engine And I'm out of work. I will be staying very, very, far away from this location for quite some time until they get people in there that actually know what they are doing and can instill confidence in the customers that go to them. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would!! The 1st time I came here I thought it was just an off day it took like 3 hours for me to get my car serviced. Today I decided to give them a second chance and low and behold 3 hours again and I only had 2 people in front of me they do not take 15 minutes with each car In fact my car took over an hour to just do a simple oil change! They tell you it's so convenient that you can sit in your car but they forget to tell you that they shut your car off the entire time they service it and you're sweating to death inside of a hot car in the summer heat!Then I get synthetic oil blend and my sticker says 3000 miles when it should say 5000 miles so I asked them about it and they say that's what they put on all of the stickers. Then the guy fixes my mileage on my car for the next oil change to be at 5000 miles but that's not the same reading as his sticker. Shady place shady business and they don't live up to their hype and what they say that it's 15 minutes and easy and quick just wait in your car I'd rather wait inside in the air conditioning frankly! read more
