I have the certificate (I keep copies) to prove it - but I don't need it, because one of the Yelp pictures confirmed this guy's lie. A couple of weeks ago I went back to get it done for this year. The manager, owner or whatever he is is acting like he is Tupac or something. All these young ladies are riding up, flirting with him - it was a very different place from last year. All the older guys that were working there seemed to be gone. It has become... ghetto. But I just wanted my emissions done. So when i could finally tear him away from his flirting, the young Black man who runs he place tells me not only do they not do emissions, they haven't done them in two years - a f*****g lie right to my face - and WHY? Why did he need to lie to me? What did that gain him? Did it matter so much that he couldn't just say he cannot do them anymore? He told me they took their machines away two years ago - but I was there in October, so how did he do my Emissions test? With his mouth? So I went up the street and had my emissions, plus three other things done there instead. I was so disappointed because last year the place was so professional, and now it's so ghetto, I wouldn't leave a broke shoe there, never-mind have my car serviced. And if someone is going to lie to me - at least make it a lie I have to think about, not some juvenile, stupid lie that insults my intelligence - as if I can't remember being there the last time I had my emissions done. That picture Yelp has can be argued with - but I have one from Google Maps dated March 2016, with the Emissions sign and sale signs. If this place can tell you a lie about something so minor, they absolutely cannot be trusted about something as important as car repairs.

Had I wanted a synthetic oil change I would've specifically asked for that. I get it. You guys mark up and oversell filters and system cleaners to make a buck, but don't try to get over on the customer just to make it. I appreciate one of the other employees refunding me the difference in cash ($20) but it's not about the money. It's the principle. I will not return. Poor experience -- costly repair did not resolve the problem…read moreI brought my vehicle to this shop based on a friend's recommendation because it was overheating. Before they began the work, I explained the issue in detail, provided the diagnostic trouble codes, and shared what I believed was the needed repair based on the information I had. Unfortunately, the repair performed was not what I requested or what I understood to be necessary to address the overheating issue. Instead, the shop recommended and completed a more expensive repair. After they had my vehicle for at least a week, I was told that the vehicle would be completed on a certain day. I spoke with the owner, he told me to come in. I came in, and my vehicle remained on the lift with the body closed up as if it were finished for approximately two hours while the mechanics appeared to be sitting in the work area talking rather than actively working on it. They then started packing up to leave and asked me to return the next day. I did not even have a ride home. In my opinion, the repair could have been completed as promised if the work had been actively performed during that time. What also made me uncomfortable was being asked by the receptionist to leave a tip for the mechanics before my vehicle had even been repaired or returned to me. After the repair was completed, I paid approximately $1,000. Within three days, the same overheating problem returned. From my experience, the original issue was not repaired, and I was not offered a refund for the work that did not resolve the problem. I understand that vehicle repairs can sometimes involve additional diagnosis and unexpected issues. However, I expected clear communication, efficient work, an accurate repair, and accountability when the same issue returned almost immediately. Oh, and when I got my vehicle back, my battery charger was busted, as if someone took a wrench to it. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.

Because this is 1950, eye roll.. Jay is the real deal. Yes, Apna Garage is a modest shop tucked away behind a gas station. But how many mechanics have a legit 5 star Yelp rating? I'll wait.. The reason is because no-one is as honest, humble or as kind as Jay is. You can drop off your car which is very convenient. Jay diagnosed mine and explained everything in plain English without being patronizing. He's very responsive to messages, gave an honest assessment and didn't try to overcharge or upsell me. He even rode in the car with me to make sure I was comfortable driving it and that my needs were met. In short, Jay will be my mechanic for LIFE. 100% recommend. Thanks Jay!

Several weeks ago I came in for an oil change and knew their was a problem with my exhaust system. Jay showed me the exhaust problem (corrosion and rust) and told me that he didn't do that kind of work and I needed to go to a muffler/exhaust place. Jay was thorough and efficient. I actually thought that his price was rather low and told him. I asked if I could give him a tip and he refused so I gave him a hug instead. I will gladly go back if I need a car repair
