You are only as good as your last oil change.... 12/10/24 Ive been coming to this Valvoline location in Lockport multiple times a month bringing cars from my dealership to get serviced. I brought in a Tundra for a oil change and ending having to get it towed away. The technician that drove my vehicle onto the lift left the vehicle in "R" instead of "P" when he parked it on top of lift. When he went to start it after the oil change it would not start. He then called me over to see if i could start it and i noticed that the "R" was lit meaning to me the car was in Reverse gear. I then grabbed the shifter to see if i could move it into the proper gear but i noticed the shifter was loose/broken. The tech must have broken the shifter when trying to move the shifter into gear. I obviously didn't bring in the vehicle in with a broken shifter. The tech called his supervisor and he took a look at it. He said that the shifter was broken and that it had a " preexisting issue" it would not be able to help me fix it. With me not being able to shift the car, i could not move into gear or drive it in a safe matter. So my vehicle was on top of the lift as we tried to figure out what to do. I asked the manager if they could get me a tow truck to take it to a shop but he refused. He then said he was going to call his manager to see what options he could come up with. He brought me in office and showed me video of the truck being driven onto lift and told me he wasn't able to do anything for me according to his manager. I then told him I was going to call corporate and he said that they wouldn't be able to help me. I called the corporate HQ's and they said its up to the manager at store to help us with a tow. So the manager could of helped me out but he just refused. Ive had so many cars taken to this location that they offered me a fleet account, but after today's oil change that cost me $90 plus a $200 tow bill along with $250 to fix my shifter that they broke, ill never return to this location since they wont make things right. read more

I just visited the Valvoline oil place in Lockport,il. I will never go back. They told me an item was on sale for 10.00 and charged me 19.99 I told them they made a mistake and they said they can't change it. They will fix it next time. I told them next time I won't be back. 77.00 for an oil change. No wonder the place is empty. I would give -1 star if I could. MikeH. read more

New place is super annoying....miss the old place, master lube.....this place is sky high for a basic oil change and of course they try to sell u on everything possible, cabin and air filters, wiper blades extremely annoying....will be looking elsewhere.....just left Walmart on 163rd.....paid $38 total for a standard oil change....waited 15 minutes.....its first come first serve so I recommend going on a week day in the morning...saved me $25 read more

Came in thinking I was going to Master Lube like I usually have done for an oil change and to my surprise learned that the owner retired and sold Master Lube to Valvoline. I figured I was already there I mind as well give the new ownership a shot. Ended up being a total ripoff. I paid about $100 for a full synthetic change. I get that synthetic costs more, but that was nowhere close to what I was paying when it used to be Master Lube. For the record I was paying around $60 for a full synthetic and that's what most other places in the area charge. On top of that they tried to sell me more of their services to which I declined. They even took off the air filter and cabin filter I recently changed to show me they were allegedly dirty and offering to change them which would cost way more than doing it myself. Place also seemed to be ran by kids. I don't think I saw anyone there who looked older than 21. They did do an okay job and did it pretty quickly so I will give them that. Ufortunately I don't like the price they charge so I'm going to get my oil changed somewhere else. read more

I went there a couple of times last year. First time was on a Saturday at 9:30 and they were closed. An employee in his car said the Manager called off and they were waiting for someone to show up with a key to open. Second time was on a Sunday and they put my car up to change the oil and couldn't get the lift to come down. I wait about an hour until they figured it out. I was offered %10 off. Employee's were young and seemed inexperienced. I was checking here to see if any changed. read more

Took my mother's car in for an oil change. No sooner had I had it done when the check engine light came on. Took it to the dealer where they said that the wrong fluid was put in the brake lines and it would cost several thousand dollars because everything needed to be replaced and it was not safe to drive. No other service had been done to the car in awhile because my mom is no longer driving. I would NEVER go to this place with any car again! read more

I would not recommend getting an oil change at this location. I have been without a vehicle for 10 weeks now after purchasing an oil change at Valvoline instant oil change in Lockport. My engine failed about 400 miles after receiving an oil change that the company admitted to not putting the proper amount of oil into my vehicle, stating the oil gun was not properly working at the time they performed my oil change. It took them over 2 weeks to verbally deny my claim for repair, refusing to put anything in writing. They repeatedly denied that the lack of oil in my vehicle had anything to do with the failure of my engine. Multiple high level technicians will agree that a lack of oil will cause an engine to fail. I reached out to the Attorney General of Illinois for assistance. Valvolone has not responded in a timely matter and the government office has sent a reminder to respond. This company is not acting professionally or ethically in response to my claim. I feel they are just wasting everyone's time because they don't want to pay for my high performance V8 hemi engine. They also carelessly entered into their system a false milage reading on my vehicle, trying to claim that I drove the vehicle 1000 miles after the faulty oil change. The car fax on my vehicle is now representing false information about the odometer reading due to this company being careless all the way around. Please go anywhere else that will treat you with respect and take accountability for their actions. read more

Almost 50.00 for an oil change, no thanks. I was wondering why for the 1st time, I was the only one in line. Well now I know. Not sure how they are going to stay in business. Lockport residents are not used to paying that much for an oil change. read more

When they switched over from masterlube, I came here once no complaints. Great service. I was recently here. Horrible horrible service. Different staff. Please do not go here. First, they said my car would take 15 to 20 minutes for a simple oil change. 50 minutes later, I was out the door. As soon as I got in my car, I knew there was something wrong. My car was shaking, and when I turned, it made a grinding noise that wasn't there before. I unfortunately did not have time to go back that day because I had to be at work. I went back the next day, and they checked out my engine it was shaking so bad they said the dipstick barely had any oil on it. As soon as he opened the hood he knew there was something wrong. He also asked me if I had warranty on the car. Now my car is a 2019. Almost brand new 33k miles on it. They finally got me in the bay an hour later. Another guy checked my oil and said the bottom was dry. he put oil in it but my car is still shaking and now my check engine light is on. I now have to take my car to the dealer and pay 159 out of my own pocket to make sure there was no damage to the engine. I talked to the assistant manager and he said they wouldn't be able to cover the 159 unless they are at fault. I told the guy you guys are at fault he pretended like I was making it up. I also have limited time on my hands so this is very inconvenient for me. I have an appt in the next day to bring it in to the dealer and I not even driving it because I'm afraid of any other damage. I also wanted to share the time I was there, there were two other complaints. The guy before me in line was also back for the second time because they put too much oil in! He said his check engine came on. Come to find out after talking to him he had the same technician as mine the day before. They all did not know what to do or how much to take out. This customer said he isn't coming back here. These guys are not properly trained it's scary. I've never experienced such a place. Another customer complained because they sprayed oil all over the inside of her car. Her floor mat was ruined they had to scrub it for 30 minutes. When i left her floor, mat was sitting outside. She said she's never coming there again and asked for the corporate number to complain. read more
