Stopped by this place for a quick oil change and tire rotation. When we pulled up, the guy told me it would be a 15 min wait but it instead turned out to be a 5 minute wait! This never happens, very quick service. When I pulled in, he checked all my lights, and made sure they were working well. Turned out one of my back brake lights were out so he fixed that for me as well. Also topped off my windshield wiper fluid for no extra charge. Service itself was quick and easy, just stepped out of my car for 15 minutes. And he answered my questions about a problem I was having with my tires as well and gave suggestions. i went to the location in Medina Minnesota and had a simple windshield wiper blade replacement. the improper installation of the blade caused my car to have scratches when it came off after using it for the first time after the service. I contacted the general manager (who has no background in collision work) and basically told me that they did nothing wrong and they could only replaced the blade that fell out but not help me pay my window where it's clearly the damage was caused by their job not being done the right way. worst experience at valvoline in 16 yrs of being a loyal customer read more

So I went to this location to get an oil change. Everything seemed to be ok and then I had a huge oil leak. There was oil all over my driveway and other places that I went. I went to get another oil change hoping something could be done. The other place realized that the oil filter WASN'T put on correctly. Oil was everywhere on the engine causing a terrible smell and smoking engine. My landlord now wants me to pay to have the driveway cleaned. This is going to cost my a decent amount of money. Oil change 101 tells you that the filter should be installed correctly and tightened appropriately. I will not only never go to a valvoline again but I will also tell every single person I know. absolutely terrible experience. it took 30 mins for anyone to even direct me into a lane. then an individual who's name-tag read 'J-Rule' came out and yelled directions for the light-check, to myself and 6 other cars behind me. he continued to scream and yell aggressively at us, i joking said to him "maybe say please, and they'll be more responsive" - he just looked at me and didn't respond. he was just incredibly rude, with no respect for anyone. I was charged 86.00 for a simple oil change for a Chevrolet Cruze. I was told my car "required the expensive oil". Complete BS, according to the Chevy dealership. This is why auto mechanic shops are considered untrustworthy. I'll never visit this location again. read more

This place will try to rip you off. I had my coolant flushed and replaced at Firestone at 100,000 miles as required by service schedule. I went to Valvoline at 103,000 for an oil change. The tech told me my coolant was dirty, and needed to be flushed and changed. When I told him I just had that done at Firestone, he walked away to confer with another tech, then came back and told me I was an entire Gallon low on coolant, and better let them do the job. I told them no, and he insisted on adding a gallon of coolant and charged me 10 bucks. First off, I had been driving the car for 3000 miles, and it did not overheat. The system only holds nine quarts, if it was that low, it would overheat. Second, there is no way to tell if the coolant level is that low. The only visual of the coolant level is on the coolant reservoir, which does not hold a gallon of coolant. I seriously doubt that the coolant level was low, and that they added a gallon of coolant. read more

Took my minivan in for an oil change. First, they said they're out of the oil I requested so they upcharged me for a higher priced oil. Is it my fault that they didn't have the oil I wanted? Also when we left, there was a funny sound coming from the van. After looking into it, I found that they never re-installed the air filter box correctly and they left a screw out because they lost it. Do they not know how many screws they took out? They don't count the number of screws they put back? THERE'S ONLY TWO TOTAL. Had to go back to get the screw. read more

I am very dissatisfied with Valvoline and do not recommend using their oil and service For the last year I used their services and finally realized they put a sticker on your windshield to remind you of your next service at 3k miles. If your car uses synthetic oil you should be able to get 8-12k miles. They do not tell you this or mention that you should check with your car manufacturer. My wife and kids also experienced this and wasted their money on oil changes that were unnecessary. That's over 20 oil changes at $79 when there should have been 5 2 weeks ago when getting an oil change I was also advised that my tires should be rotated. The tires were purchased at Costco and had less then 500 miles on them. My children have also replaced their wiper blades that did not need to be replaced When I contacted customer care to complain, they also knew about the 3k stickers and said Valvoline only guarantees their oil for 3k miles.
