WOMEN BEWARE!!! I've been to this location three or four times before and never had a problem getting my oil changed. Probably because I had my boyfriend with me previously. That all ended today and I will not be returning. I know when you go get your oil changed they try to upsell you on a bunch of services that you don't necessarily need. When I pulled in, I said all I wanted was an oil change. The worker Franklin tried to pressure me into a bunch of different services that I explicitly said I wasn't interested in. When I said no, he kept doubling down and even said some quite rude things. When I refused to have them change my air filter, he said I don't take care of my car or "show my car love". He kept repeating this for me and the other employees to hear. I have family that can service my car if I need it, but I don't like to bother them with my oil change. When I told Franklin I'd have my brother look at my filter, he said "if your brother really took care of your car then why are you here getting your oil changed instead of having him do it?" He then claimed my brother must not take care of his car either. (??) He also gave me a hard time about how my car had too much oil in it, which he said is worse than not having enough oil. He went on and on before I told him THEY changed my oil five months ago and I haven't touched it since. So if anyone overfilled it, it would've been them. I understand sales and upselling but this was blatantly rude and overly confrontational. I don't know if it's because I'm a young woman and he assumed it would be an easy sell, but I will absolutely not be giving them any more of my business and I'm telling all of my friends and family to avoid them. read more

Easy in and out! Love coming to valvoline because it's always quick and easy and I can sit right in my car. I love that they offer services, but do not push if I say I do not want something. It's a little more expensive I think than other oil changes in the area, BUT I think the convenience is worth it. This service I got a tire rotation, synthetic oil changes, and all air filters replaced. The guy even offered a discount code for the cabin air filter replacement. I'll definitely be back! read more

I came here for an oil change. I believe Michael and Tyler took care of me. Both of them were very courteous, polite, and seemed to love their jobs. They made my experience smooth and efficient. I really appreciate it when employees respect your decisions to decline add ons to the job such as transmission fluids etc. It's very easy to come back to this location for oil changes. Everything about my oil change experience was seamless--and I love that it's local. As a mom to a little one, I really appreciated being able to stay in my car while the service was completed. The team in the garage was incredibly friendly and even took the time to engage with my child during the visit. The pricing felt fair for the convenience of a quick, stay-in-your-car oil change. Employees talking trash about your car right in front of you because they are not trained properly . the guy frank that changed my oil complained and talked trash the whole time he was under my hood . @ Christina C (Valvoline Social Media Coordinator II, Customer Care) **Updated - Would give 0 out of 5 stars if possible! While the owner did reach out to me both publicly and privately nothing was resolved. They did take responsibility for the leak and offered a refund, but never followed through. In addition to this, I asked what they would do in order to repair the leak and they had no response. I will not be giving them my business in the future and I hope that everyone looks at other options prior to going here. My full complaint to ownership can be read below: I had my oil changed at Valvoline Instant Oil Change on 3/4/2023. I would like to start by saying that during my visit, your techs were very pushy and attempted to get me to purchase services that I did not request or need. When I say pushy, they were told on multiple occasions no, but kept asking if I was sure. This made the overall experience stuffy and uncomfortable. From that point until 3/19/23, I began to notice drips of oil on my driveway. My vehicle is the only vehicle which parks in this spot and my vehicle has never had an oil leak. Upon further investigation, I discovered oil residue and droplets which were emanating from the drain plug. There was no oil in the surrounding areas including the oil pan which would indicate a problem other then the drain plug. I brought my vehicle back to Valvoline and spoke with Kevin. Kevin was little to no help and became argumentative then called for the manager. Speaking with the manager, he immediately became dismissive of any oil leaks and stated it was likely the head gasket or oil pan gasket. The manager showed me standing oil just below the oil fill stating that was the leak. I disagree with this diagnosis as I believe that this was spillage during the oil change. The manager also checked under the vehicle and pointed out the oil pan gasket appeared in "good shape." All oil residue was cleaned with a rag by your manager and I was hurried out of the shop without further discussion. When I returned home, I thoroughly cleaned all residual oil to better attempt to troubleshoot the source. After driving the vehicle over 100 miles since, I returned to inspect. There was no oil at the head gasket, oil pan gasket, but there was droplets of oil and residue directly surrounding the drain plug. In fact, there is no other possible source of this drip. My vehicle went into your shop in tact, and came out leaking oil. I am adamantly disappointed by this, your lack of customer service and any attempts to resolve this issue. I wholeheartedly believe that this full experience would be beneficial to share on social media outlets in an attempt to warn others of your business practices. read more

Everyone was amazing. I'm currently getting finished up in the service and it's probably the most efficient and professional service I've ever had. Ricardo took care of everything with making sure that my oil was the appropriate one and everyone else in the staff was kind and efficient making it a quick yet safe feeling experience. Do you and your car a favor and stay FAR AWAY from Valvoline - Perry Hall location. I'm hoping not all their locations are as sleezy. I took my Honda Pilot in for an oil change. I used a $12 off coupon. I paid $102.58 for a high mileage synthetic blend oil change after the $12 off. I have never paid that much for a simple oil change. I understand the convenience and paying for it but that's still very high. The price is not my main issue. The day they changed my oil, there was a huge leak all over my driveway. In just a few days, my AC started blowing out hot air and making a gurgling sound. I was told it was probably the compressor going bad or needed to be replaced. Good news is that was not the case. Turns out Valvoline drained my coolant / anti freeze. It was bone dry which was causing my compressor to make the gurgling sound. Nothing like driving around with black leather seats through this heat wave and no AC!!! I had ZERO problems with my Honda until I took it to Valvoline. Not to mention, if they are charging me $102.00, shouldn't they be topping off all my fluids??? If not, at least don't drain it. I'm glad I looked under my hood and saw what Valvoline did before I shelled out $200 for a new compressor. If I took my Honda Pilot into a shop to have the compressor put in, I would be looking at over $2,000 between the new compressor and labor. I'm only here to tell my experience but I truly hope it sends the message to just stay clear of this place. Either they do not know what they are doing or it is intentional. 100% oil life is stuck on my dashboard due to the guy messing with the buttons on my steering wheel after I told him I already reset the oil life on my screen. I guess because I am a woman he thinks I don't know what I am doing as he started pressing buttons on my steering wheel, then said, "oh you did reset it" I'm not easily offended and I just rolled my eyes but really?? read more

Just visited today for a full synthetic oil change. As an employee was guiding me into the bay, the manager yelled at me for pulling my car into the bay.... again doing as I was instructed to do by my tech. The manager was wrong, and never bothered to apologize. To be clear, the techs that worked on my car were very professional and courteous. This "manager" needs to learn something about customer service from his employees. I have used this location multiple times for both my car and my wife's car. I also always get the extra services they recommend. After being yelled at today, I will NOT return again, and I will share my experience with friends in Perry Hall. read more

Crazy how I've gone here multiple times in the past and had an oil change done with no problem. Now, all of a sudden a dent in my hood prevented me from getting my oil changed due to "liability " reasons. That dent has been in the same spot for each service I've had. Also I've seen reps make detailed notes when doing services. Very disappointed. read more

Maurice was amazing. He went through everything that was needed and didn't oversell any products. He was thorough and showed me the air filter which was so dirty and filled with leaves so I am so thankful he went through everything. He was polite and knowledgeable. I went to have my oil change and the manager Zach literally was yelling at me to put my phone done. as soon as he opened the door, he was at me. Yes, maybe I shouldn't have been talking but am not someone's child or dog to be yelled at. Told him there's a way he can tell me to stop using my phone and not yelling. I still maintained my cool. He asked me to open my door so he can scan my car. I did that exactly. I was still in my car for almost 3 mins when I asked why am not being taken care of. He said I rolled my window on him Do you scan the car through the window? at this point I asked for someone's else. Quincy the Tech and his partner, helped me really well. they were calm, knowledgeable, good customer service and explained well everything i needed. Zach the apparent manager, should not interact with any creatures leave alone humans. He need to be sweeping some pig pen somewhere. Quincy and the 2 other techs who took care of me should manage the place. Valvoline in geeneral is perfect and very convenient. I 'll go back again but Zach will not lay a hand on my car. read more
