Pulled up to get an oil change , they have 2 lanes me and another person were waiting for the Techs to finish up with the vehicles in the current bay my lane finished first but because the person next to me conplained abt being there first they made me reverse all the way out and swap lanes, wich was already annoying, then the car that was in the bay that i now had to wait for caused me to sit there for 30 minutes, im not sure what was taking so long , finally i get pulled in and the dude on the computer totally seemed like he hated his job, seemed annoyed and just had a major bad attitude the whole time, asked him if he could check my alternator as my battery test failed he said he would, never did lol and then when i asked "hey what about my alternator"? I was looked at and ignored... i think the only good thing was the young man who did my tires , he had a great attitude, was fast, efficient, and did a good job , so overall just terrible terrible customer service like i said besides the kid , they just dont care , or want to be there it seems.. typically I do my own oil changes as I am mechanically inclined, but I just was in a time crunch so decided to just go to the shop as it was close to my house but at that point it would've been faster and more efficient and cheaper to just do it myself. But hey, you live and you learn now I know for next time to never go back to the shop. read more

I started going to this location because they were oil can Henry's and they were fantastic. Loved them. Now they changed to Valvoline...... Last time I came to Valvoline the sales pressure was so great it was unbelievable. My wife drove. After it's all said and done I end up spending $5 to change my oil myself in this rig so it's worth it. They tried to say the belt was cracked, I replaced it myself a week prior, I checked it after it was perfectly fine. My intake air filter was slightly off white and they acted like the car would blow up... finally the gentleman who was helping us ended the conversation by saying, "okay whatever, it's your car." So against my better judgment I decided to try these fellas out again. I drive up to the location. I wait 20 minutes. Still no dropping by thanking the customer, telling the customer there will be a brief wait, checking the tire pressure and the lights, none of the nice customer service one should expect. I get out of my car and go ask for a quote. The kid hands me the sales paper and says "your oil change will be $42 plus tax. I mentioned my newer car taking 0w-20, his direct words, "it doesn't matter the type of oil, it's all the same price." I again said, "are you sure? Cause my cars different." He said, "nope, it doesn't matter it'll be this price." -as he points to the basic oil change for $42+tax- I wait a literal hour for the ONE car ahead of me. I pull up he scans my vin. Looks up the oil recommendations and says, "oh this car will actually take a special blend that will be $60 extra dollars on top of the basic oil change....." Mine you this is the same cat that just quoted me $42 and telling me it doesn't matter the type of oil... So I leave. Won't even consider this place again... 2 screwups, I'm done. read more

I got my oil changed in December and usually it takes 3 months until I need another oil change. Well I'm now at 21% not even 2months later and my check engine light has been on and my car has been running different. I also smell gasoline in my oil. I will not be going to Valvoline again. read more

Never had any problems with my vehicle, no sounds, so issues. I follow the maintenance schedule, oil changes and fluid changes. I brought my vehicle here 10 days ago and the engine started tapping the next day. I bring it back to let them know something is wrong after they changed the oil and they tell me to take it to my mechanic. No offer to retry the oil change to see if the original technician messed up, no one checked to make sure the filter and bolt were tightened. There was no attempt on their part to try and resolve the issue on their side, they just passed the buck. Buyer beware... read more

First off- I am very lenient in my reviews... with that being said- Do not, I repeat, DO NOT come to this location. Up-selling, price-gouging, misleading, untruthful oil-change shop I have ever been to! There isn't even a close 2nd place- and that's saying quite a bit in my 30 years. I arrived at the shop asking for an oil change, I was met by one of the lady technicians. I let her know I wanted just a simple oil change to which she replied, "OK we'll also check your filter. It'll be about 15 minutes." I asked her if she was sure on the time because I had to be at work in an hour... she agreed it would be 15 minutes. I decided to pass the time by walking to the nearby Fred Meyer and told myself I'd be back in 30 minutes (giving them a 15 minute grace period). When I returned, 30 minutes later, my car was still being worked on. I took a seat inside and the same technician walked out the door and said, "We need to run to Napa to get a part... it should be another 20 minutes." I said "ummm you aid it would be 15 minutes and I need to be at work..." she said "Sorry..." and walked out. Here's the frustrating part...finally, 1 hour and 20 minutes later, my car was done and I was given an invoice if $124!!! I said, "Excuse me?? I wanted a simple oil change!" She replied with..."well yeah but we had to go to Napa and get a new filter and replace the old one and that comes with labor too..." my response, "No- You did not ask me if I wanted a new filter and I did not give you consent to replace my existing one." ... immediately, in sales-environment fashion I get the classic CHOKE-JOB answer of... "uh, well, Uhhh, see, umm, (cough) the thing is-umm, cough, we had to..." - I immediately cut her off and told her to save it. Just take my card- thank you for not being honest, being deceptive, AND causing me to be late for work." As I drive off, I look at my invoice and see they also, (conveniently) charged me an additional $24.99 "Miscellaneous Fee". I WILL ADVISE EVERYONE READING THIS TO AVOID THIS PLACE! This is your fair warning. I will also be sharing this experience with my friends, family, and coworkers to prevent this from happening to them as well. Rule #1 in business DO NOT LIE OR MISLEAD YOUR CUSTOMERS- and if you do, admit your mistakes rather than going the length to lose their business for an extra few commission dollars. Pathetic. I usually change my own oil and do my own maintenance. I have been using Valvoline for my company car as they require it and my experience over several years have been very good. So I am getting older and decided that I might just start getting my oil changed by someone else for a change. So I took my car to the North Spokane location and was disappointed in Valvoline for the first time. They got me in after about 15 minutes even though a bay was open the whole time. They actually finally put me in that bay. The people working there seemed to be kind of blasé and not really into doing anything with professionalism as I have come to expect. In fact I have seen more life at a competitor I once frequented. They did not announce anything they were doing and vocal checks were non-existent. I had to ask them to check my lights and check my tires. They asked me if I had a preferred pressure I ran with and I told them what it was. They never checked my tires and I did it when I got home. They were low. On the receipt it says they checked them but they did not. The receipt says they reset the oil indicator light. They did not and I did when I got home. The receipt says they checked a lot of things but I will go through the list and recheck everything since I have found the receipt to be totally unreliable. In fact it lies. They left oil spills in the engine compartment and I think they filled it with 'just enough oil to be right at or above the lower mark on the stick. When pulling the oil stick out the tech put it in and out about 3 or 4 times real quick and then showed me it was full from a distance. He splattered oil all over the place in the process. I am sure he knew it was just barely full. Nice money saving practice I would say since they charged me for "Extra Oil'. I guess Valvoline is going the way of Jiffy. Sad since I liked them very much until now. Last time I was here in my company car it was a different place. Will have to talk with my company owner and see if there is somewhere else they can take their business if this continues. Very disappointed!!! BTW: They never confirmed my identity and have someone else's name that lives in Othello WA on the receipt. I recently broke a bone and the do it your self person that I am,made not possible for me to change the oil. I am one of the most meticulous types of mechanics on my cars. I like that they show and you can see what is going on the whole time. Price for the oil change was on the higher side regular oil 39.99 (max life) 59.99 full synthetic 69.99 compared to another shop that I use sometimes. Be sure you find coupons and use them for services makes it easier on the wallet.They were fast, prompt and friendly. Non pressured salemanship is used as they want to give a great service. Bad service. They had me switch lanes twice allowing someone who arrived after me to cut in front without giving me any explanation adding 20 to 30 minutes to my wait. Very unfriendly personnel. Maybe it was the weather bringing them down but I won't be returning to this location. read more
