The last time I was here Valvoline sold me a new drain plug because mine was stripped. Today they could not check the air filter because that screw is also stripped. The people are pleasant and seem to do their job well but the whole time I waited in my car the attendant gave me a hard sell on the air and cabin filter, tranny and differential fluid changes, 3 different products for injector cleaning & windshield wipers on my 2 year old car and unfortunately the fellow is a heavy smoker, I am not a fan of smokers breath. I love Valvoline instant oil change just not this location. I moved at the beginning of the year and im trying to explore these new horizons. I used to go to the one in West Hartford and I like that one so much better. Here all they did was change the oil and that's it. At the West Hartford location the put air on the tires and check the fluids and are more talkative of what's happening. When they were done they handed me the sticker to put on myself which usually they remove the old and put the new. I don't know if I would be back even if is conveniently near. read more

I was at the Windsor Locks location for a quick oil change. My lease is expiring soon on my vehicle so it was the only service I was interested in. I understand there was other recommendations for service that is the responsibility of Valvoline to tell me. And they did. However I have an issue of how Alexis handled this recommendation. Alexis pulled out an air filter that had some dry leaves on it. No impacted on the air filter, just laying there where you could pick them off without touching the filter or even turning it upside down, the leaves would fall off. When Alexis showed me the filter I asked him if he could those leaves off before putting the filter back in. He said sure. As he started to put the filter in I could see the leaves on it I told him to stop what he was doing. He said he couldn't touch the filter it was against the rules because he could be accused of damaging the filter. You could take the leaves off without touching the filter. So I said give it to me and I'll take the leaves off. Seriously all you had to do was turn it upside down and the leaves would fall on the ground. Another employee Abdur apologized for what happened. Alexis said nothing and finished my sale. Just the idea that something so easy as picking a couple leaves off a filter before putting it back in a customers vehicle shows you care a little. read more

Got right in and the techs were very professional. The four of them verified each step as the work was being done. As for previous complaints of over filling engines it looks like the management has taken steps to rectify the situation. The techs first pumped the oil into a container to measure it and when the service was done showed me on the dipstick that the oil level was perfect. This place is the WORST place to go and get an oil change, there is absolutely no communication between employees, there's always a very long wait, and worst of all there is one employee Mike who I feel treats me like I don't know anything about getting an oil change because I am a female, and then he hits on me after treating me like I was stupid. They try to get you to buy everything which is waay overpriced, and my bf has even said that twice they didn't completely fill his oil tank. This place is such an expensive rip off. The guys working here are incredibly pleasant and friendly. That being said, $60 for a synthetic blend oil change is absolutely INSANE, I can get it done elsewhere for $30. Of course, because it is drive-in, I was already in the bay and they had started when I found out how much it was. They also didn't apply my coupon which made me mad (I didn't realize it because they told me I had a lightt out so I thought they were going to replace it so I thought that's why it was still the full price - nope. they don't replace lights, they just tell you about it). If you are in a huge rush and have money t burn, by all means, go here, the guys are super nice. If, like me, you can't just flush money down the toilet, go elsewhere. read more

Was good in the past. Now??? Attempted to sell a radiator flush on a car with 35,000 miles while showing how dirty the oil was on a dip stick. No correlation what so ever. Put 5 1/2 quarts of oil in according to their receipt, the car only takes 4 1/2. Checking the oil on the dip stick shows over by a quart. There is now an oil leak around the oil drain valve, leaving a lot on my garage floor. This time was the last time I go here. 3 cars twice a year is a lot to lose. read more

If i could give 0 i would. First off their prices are crazy, went in to get my oil changed, we drive a lot and have about 7 vehicles. They stripped the bolts and broke my oil pan in one of the vehicles, went into get emissions done at another company and they said the oil pan was no good, went back to valvoline to ask what they were going to do to make it right. Didnt receive a call from any one to keep my updated for two weeks then was told that they werent going to do anything, not even offer a free oil change or anything. Place is pathetic horribly run and will never refer them ever again read more

I went to the Valvoline in Enfield Connecticut. I called to verify the price, I verified twice while I was waiting in their office. They quoted me $37.99. They do not tell you that most cars need six pints, and that price is just for five pints, and that they charge you for screwing on the lid or something like that, he did not give me a receipt so I do not know. I have been coming to this Valvoline for years now, I drive 500+ miles a week for work so I get my oil changed rather frequently. I usually get incredible service and always leave happy, until the last two visits. In the past two times I have gone I have had to wait to get my oil done even after pulling into the garage. It seems that they only way to service the first two slots, both times I have waited in the garage 15 minutes, this is time that could have been spent changing my oil. My real complaint however is that now both times that I have gone I have asked twice to make sure that my windshield washer fluid was filled and both times was told yes only to leave and after my first wash noticed the light has come back on and it is empty by the end of the week. I pay the extra money compared to some oil change locations to specifically come here because I knew the service I was getting. I will no longer return after almost 10 years because of the technicians skimping out and telling me that they have double checked when apparently they did not. read more
