These are the perfect, guilty-free donuts. They're small, fluffy, and are topped so perfectly! Everyone there was really friendly and gave great recommendations. They're also sooo affordable. Let's start from the beginning - the donut. It is a delicious, buttery and sweet cake donut. Before the toppings hit it, you're off to a good start. Now for the toppings... There's many different combinations to choose from. All inventive yet familiar. What more could we ask for from a donut? I had the rice krispy treat, birthday cake and snickers. Rice krispy treat was the best of the 3, but all were good. Here's the downside... The wait was long. Either they need more people making the donuts after they're ordered or they need some that are premade. I don't know. I do know if you're behind someone getting a dozen, you're going to be waiting a decent amount of time, and if you're behind two people getting a dozen, you might not have the time to wait. read more

Tasty donuts with tons of variety and fun flavors. Perfectly bite sized and you can also get donut shakes, teas, coffee, and ice cream at this location. It's located in a strip mall so parking is plentiful too. We got two 6 packs with a variety of flavors. I like the cotton candy one with pop rocks on it & my boyfriend loves the sweet piggy which has maple frosting & bacon bits. We also got the samich, the cookies and cream one, the Reese's one, and the apple pie one. All were pretty tasty & good choices. Since they are made to order, be prepared to wait. We probably sat around for 10 mins or so, so not too bad at all, but there weren't many other customers there at 10:30 on a Saturday morning. Cool concept but location is lacking ambiance and character. Also wish they put more effort into coffee and had espresso options. But, still 4 stars because their donuts are solid and we enjoyed the options and them being about bite size means you can try a bunch of flavors. Can get pricey though as far as donuts go. They are also made to order so you have to wait a bit. Looks like they cater to large orders/parties/work events/etc. read more

Van Dough is a not-to-miss mini artisan donut shop, serving up mouth watering made to order mini-donuts. Fair warning! Unless you have a donut buddy, you will surely lose track and easily over eat. They have 25 different varieties with several types of sauce bases in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, caramel and too many to list number of toppings. You don't have to stick to their 25 options. If they have it, they will customize to your fancy. The mini donuts are made on-sight and they even have a viewing window for you to see the minis being made fresh (there is a video I added). They make batches of donuts and then based on your order they will custom prep them for you. Van Dough is a donut experience. Their shop is always spotless clean every time I have gone. The staff are very proud of what they are serving and are always excited to talk you through the process and/or make suggestions. Love Love Love..you order by the pack. 3 is the smallest size you can get. I got the glaze and 2 others that can no toppings. I don't like it too sweet so this was perfect. They even give you a free doughnut which was so nice an unexpected. What a pleasant surprise to find a mini donut place in a small city! I feel like there aren't enough mini donut places in Florida and I personally enjoy a hot and fresh mini donut in place of a donut from your average place. We found this place by accident while visiting my parents in Clearwater. My nieces and nephews are all under 10 and we figured this would be an awesome treat!! turns out, we were right!! we got there right at opening just by virtue of being early risers; all of the staff were great! they were freshly making their mini donuts and we were right in time for a dozen! They had some really fun flavors inspired by pop culture (such as a Homer Simpson themed donut!) as well as the classics- glazed and such. every donut was delicious and brought a smile to the kids faces!! i highly recommend this shop and will return when we visit in the future! read more

We stayed at The Sandperal Resort in Clearwater Beach. Looked up some options for donuts. It is a bit of a drive out of the way from the resort but it turned out to be worth it. The donuts were awesome. We sat outside and had them there and that made it even better because we were able to eat them while they were hot. My wife, daughter and I decided to go with a random mixed if 12 donuts. EVERY one of them disappeared, perfect size 2 maybe 3 bites, perfect favor everything. Glad we made the drive over. If you're considering it, do it. You'll like them. I wish I had a place like this back home. read more

Great start to a new donut place in Clearwater area. Tasty little donuts and many flavors. One suggestion would be to make every variety of the donuts and put on a tray for customers to pick from. Even though the pictures in the menu have descriptions, it would be great to see the real thing and would speed up the decision process. Just a thought. read more

Serving croissants and eclairs and putting French names to menu items does not make something French. We ordered a turkey omelette with eggs on top, an eclair, a chocolate croissant, a croissant with ham and cheese and tomato and lettuce, and a cream filled beignet. Let's start with the bakery goods. All bakery goods should be made fresh that same morning. The croissants, and pastries all should be flaky and taste fresh. These were hard as if they were all yesterday's leftovers. The filling on the beignet was obviously a Jell-O pudding mix, and definitely not homemade. The eclair for some reason had some kind of supposed chantilly cream and raspberry instead of the traditional filling, and both of those fillings were also all store-bought. The eclair was also stale and tasted like it had been in the fridge since yesterday. The omelette was an absolute joke. If you look at the picture I posted, my index finger was actually taller than the entire omelette which is supposed to be filled with ham and cheese as you can see from the post photo. The ham and cheese were also packaged meat and cheese as you can tell since they all were sliced exactly in the same way and same size and tasted processed, and the cheese wasn't even melted completely. The omelette was just incredibly dry and bland. The croissant suffered from the same disease. It was hard, not flaky, and tasted stale as if it had been made yesterday, and all of the meat and cheese was obviously packaged meat and cheese which tasted processed. This tastes nothing like anything you would find at any French bakery in France. In France. Everything is made the same day, and the moment it starts going stale and stops being flaky, is thrown away. This is an absolute insult to French bakeries. Even if you compare it to other American bakeries and breakfast places, nothing tasted good and for that price, it should. Definitely avoid this place. I know I will.

That's one thing I'll say for Dunedin, it seems like everyone here is friendly and loves dogs, but I digress. Looking at the menu, I felt like a lot of the items were expensive for what they were. a Croissant sandwich with egg cheese and a protein was $15, not including coffee, and I"m looking at the size of the croissants that by themselves are priced at almost $6 and I'm totally confused because they look like those mini croissants, not even full sized. I asked about their cinnamon rolls and apparently they're made fresh daily. It was good, definitely fresh. I also ordered a 14 oz cappuccino and those two items came out to $13. when she handed me the 14 oz drink I moved it up and down, my brain trying to process if maybe what I actually read was 4 oz and not 14. I handed the drink to my friend and asked her: "Does this feel like 14 ounces to you?" She grabbed it and gave me a funny look, "did they give you the right drink? This feels almost empty." "Exactly." I said back to her. She had ordered a black coffee with light sugar. They told her it was a medium blend but either they skimped on the amount of coffee or added more water than needed because this tasted almost like tea with how light it was. We both left feeling deflated, especially since we had allowed ourselves to get our hopes up. It's a good thing Dunedin has lots of breakfast places, we ended up having a great one at another place for cheaper.

Van Dough Mini Donuts is such a cute little shop! The donuts are made fresh to order, right in front of you, and the prices are very reasonable for the creativity and quality you get. We ordered a 25-pack and only waited about 3 minutes! The donuts were warm, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The toppings were piled on just right--enough to make each mini donut feel special without being overwhelming. The service was wonderful, the shop was very clean, and it smelled absolutely amazing when we walked in. They also have specialty coffees that sound delicious, so I'll definitely be back to try those!
